Great pub and a lot of fun but the purple haired waitress you have working there provided us with the rudest encounter we've ever received. She needs to learn some manners and gain some customer service skills. She's a dirty stain on an otherwise great pub experience

A great place to chill outside in the fresh air. Inside is a stunning old world with good beer selection

Pros: Friendly/helpful staff Decent prices for drinks Cons: Massively overcrowded (probably beyond fire safety levels on a Saturday night - felt sorry for the staff) Two portions of "triple cooked"chips, both not cooked through the first time! Steak sandwich, however, was totally overcooked. Very poor toilet facilities

Nice place with a lot of character. Staff friendly and accommodating. My wife and kids loved their meals but I had the steak pie and wasn't too impressed.

Amazing food at The Bell Inn for their seafood evening. The menu was so good it was difficult to choose but everyone’s meals looked and tasted amazing. The service was perfect and our whole party had a great evening ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Have been going here for a long time, a fantastic old pub and building. The food is good but the real ale choice always seems to be more or less the same. I love Nottingham Brewery beers but more variety would help. Maybe I'm just unlucky as I only pop in a few times a year when back in Nottingham.

The Bell is one of Nottingham's oldest pubs: possibly the oldest, if you listen to Time Team. It's almost like a miniature street on entering: you get the impression that several hostelries grew up and fused together. It's a great pub with very good beer and okay food. Well worth a visit.

I love this pub. Located in the middle of Nottingham, it retains its historical charm with a collection of rooms to suit everyone. Good choice of real ales, ciders and spirits. It has a lovely cosy feel.

This pub is defiantly worth a visit if you find yourself in Nottingham. Situated just off the market square it is a fantastic historic pub which stands as a reminder of days past. Drinks are reasonably priced and the food looked good! You could can just feel the history in the atmosphere of the Bell Staff were super friendly on our visit and whenever we are in Nottingham we make a point of popping in for a drink. Can’t recommend it enough, go and have a drink there if you’re in Nottingham!

Great little pub, with good food, good outdoor area, and great options for drinking. Love the old interior too. Staff who served us were attentive and helpful, even on a busy Friday evening. Would come back again.

An old, old pub but they don't rely on that or play up to it. Always a pleasant atmosphere and friendly clientele. 3 different rooms and the main bar will get very busy and bustling at peak times. Always a nice visit.

Said to be one of the oldest pubs in Nottingham. Dendrochronological dating of the timbers suggest it was built circa 1420. Lord Byron was one of many patrons. There is plenty of history preserved in the pub. Now owned by Greene King the selection of beers is mediocre as is the food offer. The service however is friendly and the ambience still takes you back to medieval England. Worth a visit.

Visited on a Friday night, was pretty quiet at the time. It's like walking down a really old alley way and small pubs have been built down the sides, very much old traditional style, guessing pretty old. Definitely good for a drink or too, not a party goers pub, more the casual place for couples and a meet up with friends. Price wise, I'd say mid to high, only had beer, so can't fully comment. Still recommend. Also try the others on the same alleyway, with the larger pub at the very end!

It's a very busy gastro pub, but that's to be expected in a city centre on a satuday evening. Staff were amazing, Food was excellent. The pub itself is a very quirky little historic building and is set out superbly whilst keeping original features. Our only suggestion, would be to have one area where those who are sampling the cuisine can do so without the noise of those who are there to enjoy liquid refreshment.

My husband and I came in for food and drink, whole we like the bell Inn, it came as a little disappointing to say the least. We have had food here before and had no problems. This time however wasn't up to the usual standard. I ordered the vintage cheddar and bacon burger and the chicken and bacon sandwich with a side of onion rings. The sandwich looked as though the last little bits of bacon and chicken from the bottom of the container. The burger was a little tough, but tadted ok, although it wasn't as hot as it should be, the fries were also not up to temperature. It was as though once cooked, the food was left under the lights,as it was an unusual length of time to wait for the food. I also had to fetch our cutlery instead of it being brought to us,which I assume is the usual procedure. I don't normally leave reviews as I'm usually satisfied. Unfortunately this wasn't the case

My husband & I have a ritual of visiting the Bell Inn in Nottingham every year we go to the Christmas Market. We go on the bus so we can enjoy 1 or 2 drinks before returning home. I love the quirky building & the staff & customers are really friendly. Missed going in the pandemic so it was lovely to return. 👍

This is overall a great pub. Meant to be one of the older ones around so it has a lot of charm all by itself. It's a green king i think, but one of the better ones for sure. Few big tvs mean watching six nations here is good. Award winning pie. Time passes quickly in the back as there is no windows, but nice wood paneled atmosphere

Bell Inn. Only positive comments! Another restaurant from The Green King chain. Come to Nottingham with my Partner for few days holiday and we decided to come to The Bell Inn restaurant as is located in the city centre. Nice restaurant in the building that it was built in 1463. Lovely historic vibes. Food was delicious. We got ourselves Chicken Sharer Platter and I got myself Katsu Burger with slim chips and partner got Chicken and Mushroom Pie with spring cabbage and steak cut chips. Food was freshly prepared, and nicely presented. We didn't have to wait for food long either. It was perfect timing. Staff very friendly as well. If you are in town I fully recommend to check this restaurant. You will be surprised how good the food is.

I went in the Bell Inn once 20 years ago and I've always remembered it as a brilliant pub I must return to and kept my fingers crossed that it hasn't changed. I returned today with my wife. It's still fantastic. We only drank there, but we'll definitely be back. A busy, traditional, friendly pub with loads of history. We both absolutely loved this place. Just like pubs used to be years ago. A gem.

The Bell is a lovely country pub in the city centre. We visited last Thurs night with some Australian relations. We ordered food. it was not at all good. Two people had steak pie the pastry was so hard my friend couldn't get his knife through it. I had the lasagne unfortunately it was very dried up. not at all enjoyable. but the beer was very good

Great pub with character, all the staff were polite and friendly. IPA craft beer on tap and we enjoyed the food too. Will definitely visit again when in Nottingham, highly recommend.

It was alright in the end, just a shame I had to ask for the smashed avocado with my salmon, poached eggs and smashed avocado... Should have been topped with seeds as well and it didn't say it had chili flakes in it. A bit dangerous if you're allergic to it.

This is a beautiful historic building. Made up of many rooms, the first two are the tudour room and Elizabethan, very historically interesting. Through to the back is a large spacious room, which was where the carriages would ride in. The staff are very knowledgable on the history of the building. There are caves below, which are sometimes open to view.

Great atmosphere however was lipstick on my glass and when trying to ask for a new one the waitress with the red/purple hair walked past, shouted “no” and proceeded to blank me, finally got a new glass but again got one with lipstick on. She needs to learn basic manners and understand it’s unhygienic

Oh my i loved this place. Very unusual building. Lots of different rooms off the corridor. St Patrick's day. Brilliant atmosphere even at 1pm. Could only stay for one but wished I could have stayed the afternoon.

There's really no place quite like it. Each bar has a different atmosphere. Floor is still undulating. Beer selections are great (craft beers). Didn't eat, but the menu looked good.

Amazing place. When I stepped in the atmosphere catched me. The food is good, the beer is nice and cold, the service spot on. I will definitelly go back soon.

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
