Love the decor. Great music. Fab service. Not overpriced. If you want a rock bar then this place is ideal. Bonus is that the toilets are actually very clean and nice unlike most rock bars 😆

This pub has great character perfect for alternative rock/metal lovers! Great atmosphere on a Friday night. Amazing art inside and out. Lively band on also. Great service from staff who did a fantastic job of dealing with a huge rush of people piling in from Rock City post gig! 🖤🖤🖤

Proper authentic old school dive bar. Great drinks offers, good music, live bands, friendly staff and even has Donkey Kong. A wonderful hidden gem.

Great little venue, staf are friendly and it's a genuine rock/metal pub. Set up for live music is a bit odd as there is no 'stage' and the performance area is actually lower than the crowd area, it's also right next to the entrance and exit to the smoking area.

We found this place whilst on a night out in Notts. Great drinks choice and a live band made the pub one of my new favourite places for Notts.

Fantastic place if you’re into alternative music, good live bands and fairly reasonable prices. Bar staff have dirty looks on them but nothing personal, definitely recommend for anyone into rock/ alternative music. Enjoyable

Great rock pub near centre of Nottingham and close to Rock City. Live music at weekends is excellent and pub is really rocking then. Good ales and friendly staff make it a go to place in the city.

I think customers are yet to find out that this pub has reopened since it's lengthy shut down. However, it's a friendly place with good service. The beer and lager selection could be better but overall I had a positive impression of the place.

Visited on 04/11/22 after a works gathering. Amazing atmosphere and fantastic staff. Served by Camara I do believe. She was excellent. Great way to end the night

Took about 15 minutes to get served was before an event but staff were really helpful and attentive to drink orders. Not too bad on the Wallet either. Definitely worth visiting if you're into metal pubs.

Walking in to this pub felt like it did the last time which was about 30 yrs ago. The vibe was good with one side of the pub full of chat & happy times being had by groups of friends around the tables. The other side was one of live music of a young thrash metal type band full of energy & passion watched by mostly equally young small crowd. There were older folk too so it's age inclusive! The drinks were cheap, with a pint of John Smith's & a vodka with tonic = £6.34 (I think) Legend of a rock pub & can't be missed on visit to Nottingham.

I always pop into Tap and Tumbler every time I’m down in Nottingham- I’ve never been disappointed. A fantastic pub with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. They also have some lovely additions like a pac man machine!

A place of character, loud rock music and the must stop by before rock city which is located around the block. While I was there, it was full busy. A close family member told me he been going to the tap since 90's. He told me how much and how little things have changed about this place. He turly enjoyed our visit here. The choose of ale, ciders and beer on tap. A few bottled and can craft favorites. The pub has its own merch which is amazing. Although not for sale, I love the decorative adds hidden around the bar. I didn't get to see much, as that's my own fault. But what I do know is there was a pool table in the back, photo selfie booth at the far front and I am guessing toilets behind and down a corridor near song selection jukebox. Overall feel of helping continue my amazing evening, the staff are nice folks and the ciders I had was splendid. Come again most definitely.

Didn't eat but saw a gig (band my son is in .... Azure....... they're great!) Great atmosphere, EXCELLENT venue for live music, people really welcoming. Had my mum with me who is nearly 80 and not in great health, and she was treated so kindly. Good choice of beer aswell. Top marks.

One of the best pubs in Nottingham based on Rock' n Roll & Metal! They host concerts every week. Many great bands have played at that venue! Also, the environment is really friendly and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Do give it a visit if you're a fan of rock & metal music! 🔥

Metal as F! Just a brilliant venue for all things rock, punk, metal and alternative. It's where the weirdos, goths, misfits and misaligned all gather, or as I refer to them 'the normal folk'. Visiting from London where sadly these kinds of pubs and venues are seriously dying a death, it was a brilliant find and an instantly welcoming and relaxed vibe from the staff and locals. Get there & get on it! We'll see you again soon Tumblers! 🤘🤠🤘

WHAT a GEAT night. Fabulous live band and amazing music after. The dance floor was packed. Great if you like live hard Rock and alternative 80's music. Will most definitely return.

Great pub, a well known haunt for Goth/Punk/Metal fans. Meet some really cool people here in a chilled out atmosphere. Friendly bar staff, main room downstairs with another room upstairs.

Great service. Live bands are brilliant. I've loved this pub for as long as I've been going out drinking. Always drop in if I'm drinking in the area.

Fantastic place with great staff, Music and atmosphere. The only sole reason for the 4 stars is not having a disabled toilet. The pub is accessible enough and unfortunately without a toilet to use, it only means I'm able to have one or two drinks. This is massively disappointing as I'd love to have a full night there.

Great place, love the atmosphere and live gigs! Staff is extremely friendly and courteous, beer is reasonably priced and tastes superb at a perfect temperature. Great selection of spirits, awesome shot bundles! Favourite place in Notts, a ‘must visit’ for all rock and metal fans🤘🏻

Lovely friendly pub ,great staff, we were an older age group who had been to a gig nearby. The staff all young were bubbly and friendly and took an interest in our night out. Prices were very reasonable

Stumbled upon this place as we were looking for an alternative place to visit whilst in Nottingham. Quite a small venue but it wasn't super busy. Turns out there were live bands playing that night. Was great to see a mix of alternative music, we really enjoyed ourselves. The only con was the music was a bit too loud, to be expected with live music, but was almost deafening at some points. Loved the added touch of the jukebox, and was nice to hear our requests come on so quickly. We ended up going back and daytime was quieter. Would absolutely recommend, if going to see live music though, wear plugs to protect your ears. 🖤

One of the last true dive bars in Nottingham. Great rock bar with awesome music. It opens late after gigs at Rock City, has a decent selecrion of beers on tap as well as offers on spirits and often hosts live rock bands. Atmosphere and staff are friendly and also has a pool table.

I've been coming here for 20 years. It's changed hands over time, and for a while I thought we'd lose it when it briefly wasn't a rock bar any more. But now Al is in charge, and he has ensured The Tap kept its essence, the place to be before and after any gigs at Rock City, for a quiet drink during the day and ALWAYS where i meet my friends at the weekend, the friendliest rock bar in town, the best staff, and guaranteed a good night. A great selection of gin, whiskey and rum, a photo Booth for memories, a fantastic jukebox, and service with a smile. I can walk in and the staff know my drink without me even saying anything. This is a Pillar of the rock community in Nottingham, and we would be lost without it.

Not a bad venue, new management seem to have kept the old theme going which is always nice to see, decent rock/metal venues are rare as hens teeth these days

The Tap is somewhere I’ve been drinking for a long, long time (early 00’s) and though I don’t make it in as often as I did back then, it’s always a comfortable, welcoming and nostalgic place to have a drink or 3. I especially need to make more of an effort for a lunch time pint since it’s just around the corner from my office now!

Popped in for a quick drink for a friend's birthday before heading out for a meal. Staff were so friendly and everything about the place screams ROCK!!! Unfortunately weren't able to stay for the live music but will definitely try and head back up there at some point for it. Rock on guys and girls. 🎸🎸🎸

Not changed since the first time I entered in 1993 Absolutely a positive. Great crowd and music. Top atmosphere. It's why we often end up there on our rare nights in town. You can count on seeing old familiar faces.

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
