A venue that has never quite fulfilled its potential and has been struggling with its identity for as long as I care to remember. It really can't escape its reputation as being a bit of a dive. Hugely popular at night due to its location, however a full refurb is needed to make this place great. It does have a few plus points though. Decent sized toilets on both floors. A pool table on the second floor with decent seating arrangements to boot. Drink selection is not the best but I suppose you sell what you cater for. You also won't pay the earth for your drink compared to some places.

Nice place, it was very busy and very loud. The table service was slow and we had to ask multiple times for a drink, before going to the bar and getting it ourselves. The food is nice and there is a wide range to pick from on the menu.

Visited yesterday for lunch with my family. The food was great but the service was even better. I did not know the pub did full table service upstairs. The staff were polite and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Tom the waiter really went out of his way to make our experience a really good one. 5 stars from me

One of those pubs come late bars that has been popular for years, good lively crowd pre-Covid-19. But still a good place to go, large interior, good layout, good sized upstairs, with a view downstairs and outside. Always recommended for a visit, prices aren't too bad for Notts. I can't comment on the food, as i haven't eaten here. A good choice, and it does show sport on the TV!

Fryer was down so a lot of the menu was unavailable. Decent place and atmosphere, not so good for craft beers and food quality was average (see pic). 2.5 stars really, but staff were nice

Me and my partner pay a trip to Nottingham yearly and this was our 4th year coming to Squares as it used to be our favourite bar! I was disappointed this year as not only have you stopped happy hour.. which was 2 for £6 cocktails between a certain time.. the drink prices have gone up! It would not have bothered me much but when my cosmopolitan came out it looked tiny for an £8 drink, the glass sizes have changed! Not sure if we will return again next year as this kept us coming back due to the great quality and priced drinks....

Ordered a mixed grill for lunch. Food service was fairly efficient and the majority of the meats were cooked very nicely, especially the chicken ( very tender and moist). The only issue was I ordered a steak cooked medium well and it came out extremely dry and overcooked.

we booked in for a birthday party for 45 people. when arrived the table was decorated and they reserved us a great area by the window. we all got our meals at the same time and even though a couple of them were wrong they fixed it straight. away. we tipped them and I would highly recommend it for big party's.

Very disappointing meal. We visited on recommendations with friends but the meals were poor. The ambience was lovely and relaxing, along with friendly staff. We ordered the mega mixed grills and fish and chips off the menu, what we saw of the Sunday roast should have been a warning. When the meals arrived we had standard portions, though when checked they were put through as standard. I asked for English mustard and got cheap squeezy bottled American mustard. The steak was over cooked and chicken breast very dry, as seems pretty standard in Nottingham the chips cold and eggs were hard. The fish was bland, soggy batter and again very dry and cold. Not once were we asked if we enjoyed the meal. Though it was peak lunch time the place was not at all busy. Sadly, we shall not visit again as even the Guinness was warmer than the chips. The staffs friendliness saved it from a lower rate.

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
