Impromptu lunch. Now, if you want the true definition of a hidden gem, this is it. Located down a side street in Sandiacre. That's Nottingham or maybe Derby, depending on which side you say, "Ay up me duck." We must confess that we have not dined here for some years. Shall we say the 'slate days'. The Lunch Menu 2 courses 45.00 3 courses 58.00 With a choice of four dishes per course. First up are two different little snacks. 'Fish & Chip'. Yes, it's a mouthful of a delicious chippy tee in one bite. Forget the lunch. Just bring a bowl of them. Can't remember what the other was. After that, you are served a nice slice of sourdough bread with butter that's been on the table since being seated. Which is a bit strange,but hey, ho. Starters Hand dived Orkney scallop,macadamia, quinoa, lime. *big and succulent. Pork belly, piccalilli, cauliflower. *served just right. Mains Beef & Oysters', dashi,mustard thermidor. *Now, this was a dish to remember. It's topped with the tastiest oyster ever. Halibut, trout, shrimp,bouillabaisse, saffron. *Two pieces of excellent fish. With the generous portions, we skipped desserts and had coffees. Which are served with a choice of choccies. The service was very good.

Cant believe that I'd never heard of La Rock until I searched Google for "best lunches in Nottingham" Utterly outstanding. From the setting to the service ans through the food an absolute delight. Cant recomend it highly enough. Go on, treat yourself!

This is a wonderful restaurant just off the M1. I decided to break a long journey for South to North with lunch here, and it was one of the best decisions I have made I years. The two complementary snacks were wonderful and the two courses fantastic cooking for just £25, it is amazing I was able to book a table. If you are in any doubt about going here, go. If I were to have a slight niggle, advice on wine to match my food choice could have been better, but this is a very minor point.

Wanted to come to La Rock for a very long time but due to the prices it needed to be a special occasion. Our anniversary seemed like the perfect opportunity. Delicious cocktail in the lounge before being seated. All staff were extremely friendly, funny and professional, a pleasure to deal with. Always just right and not overbearing with descriptions of every dish and always a smile. Really intimate restaurant, not too noisy and nicely decorated. Food was superb, delicious scallops and fillet of beef cooked to perfection. Lovely hors d'oevres too between courses. Price for three courses with wine and a cocktail for two was about £250. Will definitely return!

Had a most lovely lunch here today - excellent food and service. It's fine dining but not at all pretentious - I particularly liked that vegetables and potato gratin are served alongside the main courses (at no additional charge!) Thank you and we look forward to returning very soon. 💚

A rare 5* awarded from me. A little out of town (from Notts or Derby), situated in Sandiacre, with ample public parking directly opposite the restaurant. Staff were well presented, friendly and helpful. We sat downstairs, in a rustic but smart diving room, just the right level of lighting, and soft music in the background. The food was very very good considering the value (£100 per head, including a few drinks, tip, and 3 courses, with little extras in-between courses). The food is modern and creative, a nice small menu to choose from, and catered well for a few allergies. Totally unpretentious, yet stylish and creative.

Visited as a celebration of a few things recently. Lovely venue. Beautifully clean, presentation and atmosphere. Food exquisite especially the amouse buche! We enjoyed mocktails and they have an extensive non alcoholic menu. Overall some of the best food we have eaten- the goats cheese and quince starter was phenomenal and my other half loved the cremue. Would certainly return for special occasion but overall good value.

My first visit at the weekend for a work lunch. The food was amazing and the service even better! We booked our Christmas get together before we left. See you just before Christmas 😊

Truly fantastic food! Last time I went I had the Halibut (which was good enough for Jeho**h, incidentally), and, amongst other things an amazing fish and chips appetiser which is just genius! I also had the ginger mojito which was suuper tasty. This is a lovely place for foodies, but it's also relaxed, perfect for taking the parents or other half to.

We went today (25/11/2022) for the first time. What a wonderful dining experience. The service was just as good as the exquisite food. A real treat.

Really special anniversary celebration for myself and my husband who has Parkinson’s. Very attentive staff took any stress out of the situation and helped us to and from our table with great sensitivity and thoughtfulness. Superb quality food with attention to fine detail In presentation and taste. Knowledgeable staff, friendly and efficient. Couldn’t do enough for us without being overpowering. Lovely calm atmosphere.Fantastic venue for a special occasion. The staff made it special , with particular thanks to Diva who even escorted my husband in his wheelchair to the carpark across the road. The perfect end to a perfect celebration. Thanks to everyone involved in tonight’s experience for us.

Wow, what a fantastic night, food was absolutely excellent, the flavour combinations were just out of this world, the amuse bouche of fish and chips was culinary genius, and it just got better. The wine pairings were a treat, this was my wife's and mines first time here and we will definitely be going again.
