At first when I saw The Robin Hood Experience from the outside it didn’t look like much, however Little John invited my family and I inside. He even helped my mum with her disability and her wheelie walker. While there were a lot of steps the were plenty of resting points for young children or people with disabilities like my mum. The displays were all high quality and the story telling of the exhibits were good too. I highly recommend visiting this place before entering the castle. The experience was quite quick at 45 mins but it was fairly priced for the content; 10/10.

Great set of displays following the story of Robin hood. Set rooms for different aspects, and lots of info boards around the place. Kids will like it, but it is a bit simplistic for an adult group, and there are ALOT of stairs if you have mobility issues

I quite enjoyed the Robin Hood Experience, there really is a lot of stuff jammed in to a small space. I think I may have been a bit of a closet fan of Robin Hood, as it occurred to me that I had seen a lot of the shows / films mentioned on the info boards..! We took the two kids with us and they were both given some challenges to complete as we went through the rooms, with promise of a prize at the end. This kept them partly busy, albeit we needed to read and tell them what they needed to look for, and when they found it they wanted to move straight on.... The rooms are not big, and as other reviews have said, you wouldn't really want to be doing it in large groups as there just isn't the space. I felt it was perhaps priced a little wrong for the small people as it was only free if under 3, perhaps think this should be under 5. I think we was in there for just over an hour, and it was something a bit different. Wife wanted me to make sure that I wrote that it does have facilities (toilets) but perhaps don't expect too much in terms of the quality of the toilets!

Loved it 😊❀️ Tiny house turned into an amazing experience, really detailed, lot of things to see, really worth it. The man who served us our tickets was extremely friendly, so authentic and unique in true to age clothing, it was a joy to listen the story he told , I could listen all day 😊🏹

We were actually on the way to the Ducal House when I looked to my right and happened upon "The Robin Hood Experience". On entry we were greeted warmly by the outlaw himself and after a nice chat the offspring were given a task each to do and directions to our starting point. Set in an old three storey house and adorned with everything about the legend from artwork to pop culture references we went to the top room which was made into a medieval hovel where we were told a story. We visited several rooms that visit and heard from Friar Tuck, the evil Sheriff and then the outlaws themselves in a room made to look like a forest. I found this place absolutely charming and it was obvious that a lot of care, commitment and enthusiasm has gone into it. Yes, in this day and age of animatronics, VR and massive installations I could see some younger generations not quite understanding the work that went into this quirky diorama. It's just unfortunate that differently abled people won't be able to experience this alternative attraction but you can't blame that on the creators of what is, in my opinion, a great little bit of escapist joy.

Lovely little place, easily missed as you walk past. Great for young children (4 - 12ish maybe). Set in a number of rooms over several floors with different scenes and characters in each. Fun range of quizes to help you explore the place.

This little shop is the creation of my stepfather, who has put his heart and soul into making something that can not just bring a smile to others faces, but also bring enjoyment and excitement when coming through. I've been working here for a little bit now, and it's been more than incredible!

Nice place to visit, but it's a bit overpriced for what is inside. We were greeted by very friendly staff and went for a journey through the building. There are a lot of plaques and printouts to read about the history of Robin Hood. Very educational and good for kids.

As a lifelong Robin Hood fan this was an awesome visit. Was mainly aimed at younger children but we had fun and enjoyed dressing up and playing Robin and Lady Marian

What fun! We love an immersive experience and this did not disappoint. We have a five year old and this was perfect. Each room had a audio scene which described what was happening. And you ventured from room to room. You could read as much or as little as you’d like and there was a breakout room for dress up, colouring and practice archery if your little one needed a break. The introduction host was really invested and even had books written by himself. We had a great time. Thank you

This was a fun way to end our weekend in Nottingham, so glad we had time to fit in one last local attraction 😊 We were greeted by an enthusiastic costumed guide who set the scene before entry, you can tell that the people who run this attraction care about the subject matter and put a lot of effort into putting the exhibits together. Each room was atmospheric and detailed and there was plenty of interesting information to read throughout. The figures and dialogue really set the scene. Many details to look at and read as you adventure down. The decoration and theming was very fun and imaginative, really turns the spaces into little sections of fantasy forest. We spent some time in the craft room, taking pictures in dressing up areas and looking around the memorabilia room which was great, a wide variety of items from different media and versions of the Robin Hood story through the years. Really an impressive collection. Getting to turn yourself into an outlaw on your own wanted poster was a fun detail. A lot of time and thought has gone into this attraction and it's clearly well looked after. Got myself a cute little Robin Hood pin as a souvenir of the experience, thanks for having us, we miss Nottingham already 😊

A great and informative experience! Lots to do, plenty to see and to learn. I was very impressed with the efforts that went into the decorating and the activities.

Loved it! Good place to learn about Robin Hood, covered it much better than the new displays in the nearby castle which were very sparse on information. Also great displays which were well done if on a limited budget - even has sound effects & smell pods! Definitely worth a visit!

This place can be so deceiving from the outside however when you entre, it is like entering the Tardis! There is so much to see, learn and take in that you spend longer than you anticipate inside. All the information was extremely interesting and the rooms very well done. The gentleman who runs it is a weath of knowledge and so easy to sit and chat to for ages. I can't recommend his hospitality or recommendations enough. loved it

The castle could learn alot from these guys! What these guys have created in a small shop spread over many floors puts the castle to shame. Don't waste your cash going to the castle, visit here instead.

Met by a lovely peasent for our tour around. Unfortunately the castle right next door wasn't open when we visited. Well put together but quite dark for my 7yr old who didn't want to see the sheriff hiding in a room. Bought a upgraded bow &;arrow and posed with the robin hood statues outside. The dressing up room could do with a re organisation, less costumes, more space to try on and mess about.

Every character of the robin hood story has their own exhibition room. Loads of interesting memorabilia. Passionate, fun staff.

Very friendly and welcoming lady greeted us and told us about the place. The atmosphere of the rooms range from whimsical (woodland hideout) to really scary (torture room). Good laugh for the grownups for sure. Unfortunately some of the features were too scary for my 3 and 5 year old but I can see how it could be fun for an older age group. Plenty of reading to do and three challenges to chose from. What our kids enjoyed the most was the playroom however it was a bit sad that most of the toys were incomplete or had parts missing and the room itself felt a bit unkept. Overall decent value for money, will probably kill 30 minutes to 1 hour at best.

On the doorstep of Nottingham Castle, stands a non imposing 3 storey town house. A set of stocks on the pavement, along with some great artwork on the window, is the only clue to the plethora of wonder that awaits. Met by a villiager/maid Marian/ Robin Hood in disguise, you are instantly thrown into the theatrics of the most quirky, family orientated, museum I've had the pleasure to visit. 3 storeys of steep stairs (with plenty of passing/pausing points) copious Pop art, posters, clippings and fun facts help you climb the floors to the start of the adventure. As you enter each room, brilliantly decorated in keeping with the part of the legend being covered, you become embedded into the storyline. With plenty to entertain little people whilst the more mature can read all the brilliantly gathered titbits of the Robin Hood, all ages find themselves dressing up, answering the mannequins and generally smiling throughout. Soon enough you find yourself back at ground level, thoroughly genned up on all things Robin Hood and very impressed with the whole concept. Doth cap to the creator, well done and your stepdaughter was very engaging, playing her part brilliantly. Highly recommended to all, by 2 big kids πŸ‘

I didn't know that it is not only a shop. Nice experience but it is needed to enhance it more. You can even dress as a real knight.

A very unique sort of museum experience. The activities given out to children make it a fun experience for kids. Interesting looking at the various Robin Hood memorabilia at the end of the experience. Cool little gift shop with fun items for kids to buy (bow and arrows etc.) Would definitely recommend.
