Amazing & beautiful!! Free parking, beautiful landscape, waterfalls & park for children to play. The boats are so fun! I would highly recommend a picnic & day out on the boats or a game of crazy golf. Lovely little café for drinks & food.. Such a well kept, clean & beautiful park with lots of history & historic building!

Used to visit here on a regular basis, however this was my first visit for over 6 months. Thoroughly enjoyed walking round the lake on a sunny evening and was impressed how tidy and well kept the park was. Rowing boats available for rent, as well as mini golf and football golf. Good for families, with large grass areas for picnics and a regular ice cream van parked up. There is also a small coffee shop in the Lakeside art centre.

I must have driven past this place a gazillion times and always wanted to visit. 💯 worth it. The Sun, like in all cases, made it look even better!!! We got to one of the entrances seeking to find car parking. We were told there were 3 car parks. The representative at the desk directed us to a FREE car park for guests, otherwise you’d have to pay. The Perfect Car Park outside the Arts Building leading you on to the walk around the lake. A beautiful, well maintained area. There is also a provision for ‘crazy golf’ and also boating on the lake. (£5 per person for an hour). A very picturesque place to go boating. I would recommend this over Matlock due to the views and the size of the Lake. There is also a waterfall at the end of the lake which is a perfect spot for a family picture or a quick selfie 🤳🏽. The grounds make you realise how big the University is, as some of the campus buildings are built around the lake. Absolutely stunning buildings. A highly recommend place for families, couples, friends and a picnic.

This is a very large park. My wife thought this place was wonderful. My 5 year old daughter didn't think this place was very great. We walked around the park and ended up back at the tram stop. There are many Canada Geese here as well. Seems we're not the only Canadians visiting the park currently.

Well worth a visit, I could go back here again and again if I live close by. It's like a hidden gem, not easy to find and the parking if you're not from around the area. However I was surprised when I got there, the view was amazing,. Would definitely recommend the place to visit

Lovely place to visit either for a quiet walk around the lake,or something more adventurous like crazy golf,or boating on the lake itself. You can have a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe or picnic on the grass. As well as looking at the exhibitions on show in the lakeside building.

So lovely and peaceful, during the summer months you can hire a row boat and enjoy the lake. Always really well kept and the park is great for the kids.

The park is really well maintained and if you’re in mood of some peace and cold breeze you would definitely love sitting here and enjoying the well cleaned park. Heads up, the boundary is very small and you might fall in the water so please keep distance.

A nice park based around a large boating lake. It was very busy at the car park end. There is a children’s play area and mini golf, toilets, café, ice cream van etc. Boats to hire were very popular today. Good place to go for a picnic or just for a walk around. There were a lot of families there. The parking is quite small for the amount of people visiting and I can guarantee there will probably be some reversing going on. We were lucky and someone left as we arrived.

Beautiful park - came from Derby (but we didn’t shout that around) for the first time. Was fairly busy due to the weather and bank holiday but we loved it, played foot golf and crazy golf, then an ice cream before playing on the large play park! We’ll definitely be back :)

I do enjoy visiting this place with the fam. Its roughly 2k walk around the lake with a Japanese waterfall, very nice scenic routes with wild life information around the lake. Big open space/field with a park with for young children.

Lovely park with plenty of paths to walk on. Well maintained with minimal litter. Adventure golf and boating activities available. The stepping stones are cool and there's a nice view of the waterfall there too.

A lovely autumn day. Lots of people enjoying the fresh air. The "Wired" coffee van was particularly appreciated. Encountered my mother walking her dog, and friend June with her son and two grand children

nottingham is a very small city with below 300k population, maybe that's why it only has so few touristic attractions, this park might be already the best thing to do in this city and this one is low key compared to the deer park and kind of not far away from it - local named it university park and it is connected to some hall / campus - nothing fancy if compared to other G5 uni, still worth a walk i reckon :)

Had a run round this park at the weekend and it us very nice on a sunny day I can see it would be really great. Slightly limited signage and the exercise equipment was roped off in some cases and the route was not easy to find or follow. Overall a nice and good looking place.

  • 5/5 Jaber B. 1 year ago on Google
The place is quiet and absolutely stunning. Some ducks are rude if they find food on you but thats a whole different kind of fun!

A good mix of activities to do at the park with options for all ages. Easy to get to with good off-street parking, bus routes and a tram stop meaning accessibility will never be an issue. Serene water gardens at one end and a mini golf course at the other which make for a great family day out. Great for evening walks/cycle ride with the breeze from the lake or boating which is always something to look forward to. Would highly recommend a photo with the two Chinese stone lions next to the lake.

The clock tower is visible from my bedroom and I can walk to this place in 5 minutes. Been here hundreds of times and know it well. It's very close to Beeston, but classed as being in the Nottingham city boundary. Another typical English style garden landscape with a lake that looks like 2, a few small bridges, small woodlands and spinneys, streams, a Japanese style garden with a rock pools and small artificial waterfall, lots of trees and wildlife, even some caves and small cliffs. You can rent a boat out on the lake. Quite hilly in places and a good place to sledge when snowing. A kids park at the top end with parking, toilets and a cafe. A good family day out that costs nothing to visit, with good footpaths that are suitable for the elderly and disabled. The tram stops just outside 2 gates, for those who don't have a car. There is also a good cycle track that goes along the whole length of the park on the road side. The transport links around Nottingham and Beeston are very good for locals, visitors and tourists. The Nottingham Tennis Centre is right opposite this place on the other side of the road which the tram also goes past.

Beautiful place to visit with your family or loved ones. Nice play area for kids, beautiful scenery, nice lake, very friendly ducks, geese, flamingos, they literally will come to meet you. Art gallery is also interesting and even kids friendly. The Cafe joint is good. A visit during the Spring time is highly recommended as there are lots of flowers and lot's of activities like boat ride etc.

What an asset to Nottingham! I spotted the park as I was on the tram journey from Toton Park and Ride into Nottingham on Saturday. As it was such a lovely day I decided to pick up lunch in town then got off at the Park and walked the full length of it, stopping half way round to eat lunch. There’s a great children’s area and icecream van at one end and then much quieter as you walk on. There are lots of seats and litter bins along the route so plenty of opportunity to sit and take in the beautiful scenery, plus lots of cheeky squirrels and birds to eat up any crumbs. I don’t know if there is a designated picnic area. It’s very impressive with something for everyone and great for dog walkers, families etc I had limited time so had no opportunity to explore further into the park but will definitely visit again if I have the opportunity.

I can't comment on the quality of the pitches and overall it's a good setup. However, at busy times like a final, the catering facilities struggle.

Really lovely area with lake and waterfall. You can hire boats to row around, and there are a few cafes nearby that are part of the uni. Lots of open space, plants and wildlife, the squirrels were really friendly and came really close!

Not a large park but adjoins with The university of Nottingham main campus which has public access with nice walks and the Millennium Garden open. You can also walk via University Park and cross the A52 Derby Road into Wollaton Park, makes a great afternoon walk or cycle ride.
