This museum has absolutely blown me away. A truly hidden gem of Nottingham. It gives you an accurate picture of where Nottingham is from, where it is at where the City is headed. It has got some very interesting collections and a range of Nottingham history of success. But most important of all are the volunteers who run the place. They are so warm and friendly, their knowledge of their subjects and their passion is moving. It's a shame we didn't have enough time to do more but will definitely be going back and cannot recommend it enough. The Victorian kitchen run special events where you might be able to test a Victorian dish so recommend scanning their website to see what's on before you visit.

Small but perfectly formed museum within the grounds of Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. Lots of displays showcasing the industry of Nottingham. Lace making clock making and Boots the Chemist all get a mention. Plenty of facilities shared with the Hall and Park.

Surely a wonderful. A perfect weekend to visit this place. The collection of machine they have is amazing and the way they have maintained it is very appreciating. The staff is very dedicated towards their work and are very informative. All the machines kept in are rare, unique and working. If you are a motorcycle lover then surely visit this place you will be amazed my Nottinghams manufactured Motorcycle on display.

Fantastic place love it great day out, yet another visit today with our son. The volunteers make the place come alive with stories of past and knowledge of the exhibits. Such a shame a lot of the industry is lost in Nottinghamshire. The museum is keeping it all alive. Cheap as well, if you visit with children they go free. If your in to bikes a Raleigh show case of bikes well worth seeing I spotted at least 4 bikes I owned before.

An absolutely fascinating museum highlighting the many things made in and around Nottingham. The exhibits are great but the experience is really made by the incredibly knowledgeable and approachable volunteers. Very worth an hour to visit.

Excellent place for learning about the lace textile heritage and industrial revolution history of steam machines, railway and victorian life in Nottingham and the UK. Kids will enjoy it and grown ups too! The museum is being updated, new exhibition distribution, new descriptive displays, new paint. Looks lively and brighter and even more educational

A glimpse into Nottingham’s industrial past - including iconic Raleigh Chopper bicycle. Check for opening times and definitely visit when there’s a ‘steaming’ - they get all the old steam engines going thanks to volunteers! No dogs on leads allowed.

Hardly anything there to see. Not properly sign posted to get there. Museum is part of Wollaton House land. There was 1 working engine but didn't go anywhere as it was cordoned off but you could spend 50p for them to honk the horn, when it clearly said that you could do it.

The guides are so good! They are knowledgeable and really put the effort in. There's a lot to see for something that seems like a small museum.

This museum gives a very nice past of Nottinham, with very helpfull volunteers that will gladly tell you the history of all the various it es in the museum. Personally i really liked the old bikes, motorcycles and there history. i never imagined the connection of lawrence of arabia and his connection to one of the motorcycles. Same as the steam engines, this was an excellent visit i really enjoyed it. When you are in the area visit the park enjoy the nice walk around the lake, get a drink and visit the museum it will make an excellent day.

This place is so lovely. The people who work there are so passionate and kind. Both of my kids enjoyed it so much. We live nearby and I can't believe we didn't visit before. It's been a couple weeks now and my oldest one is asking daily when can we go back.

Amazing museum. There are some incredible machines housed here, many unique to the area. Notably the lace machines and the incredibly impressive water pump that runs (at the end of each month). The volunteers are friendly and passionate about their museum. It adds a level of interest that most museums miss. Check opening days and times as it is staffed by the volunteers and not open all the time.

This place is wonderful. It is small, but perfect to visit on the same day as visiting Wollaton Hall. The people who work there are enthusiastic and kind, and really make the place worth visiting. They made the effort to make sure our children had fun, learnt things and felt involved, they had a lovely little event going on in their Victorian Kitchen. We would recommend this place to anyone.

The museum is really very worthwhile) so many vintage motorcycles and cars! I'm very glad I was here, there is a huge story about each car, I recommend it to anyone who is interested in the history of the car industry.

This museum is such a hidden gem. We stopped off here after visiting Wollaton Hall and were very impressed with the collection here. As well as the main exhibition hall there is a carpenters workshop, forge, Victoria kitchen and steam room. What makes this museum really special though is the people. The volunteers were so friendly and knowledgeable about their specialisations, and were genuinely passionate about what their subject area. Unfortunately we didn't quite get to see everything due to time constraints but we will definitely be back.

Can't recommend this museum more. The lovely people working here will passionately tell you about each piece shown here and will show you how some of the industrial machines work. If you are lucky you might even get the chance to taste history in the Victorian kitchen and if you're even more lucky you will meet Indy - the industrial cat!
