Beautiful church. Open to public and has toilets as well. Self guided tour here, go on a weekday and you will have church to your self. Massive windows with a different saint in each window in stained glass form. The church is big, like massive, makes you feel small and in awe that humans worked together with Gods fortitude to create such a beautiful work of art. Private chapel is secluded and beautiful. Exterior of church is wonderfuly cared for. Wish I could attend a service here at the height of its use. Will come back again to bask in awe.

The most beautiful church in Nottingham, and a magnificent building that dates back to the early 15th century, but now bears the familiar Gothic Revival style of so many cathedrals in England. It's not as spectacular on the inside as many other large churches, but worth a visit when in town (Nottingham offers surprisingly few notable historical attractions). The painted glass windows are very nice indeed.

Lovely church open to the public, not just for faith but as a community space. The recently gilded roof angels look amazing and the newly refurbished bells sound heavenly 😀

A nice church to visit with a bonus tour (free but can give a donation) where you are are able to climb to the top of the tower and see a great view of Nottingham from the top! Half way up you get to learn about the bells used in the church by some of the bell ringers - very interesting and a lot to learn - and even get to get right up and close to the bells and mechanisms. Wonderful highlight of a day in Nottingham

It's a lovely old church set in the Lace market it's full of old grave stones dating back to the early 1750s I only wish I could have gone inside for a better look but I. Took a photo of the church

What an architecture, what a beauty and what a building this church is. The beauty and the details on this church will blow your mind even without knowing the historical dimension to this amazingly beautiful church. My only concern with the building is actually nothing to do with the building or church itself but the surrounding buildings which the council has allowed to swallow up this beautiful piece of art.

Came here for a coffee festival. Good to see the church making use of its space to open the door to new people. Would have been good if the church had an information point during the event.

I was on an organised trip to visit the roof via the bell tower. The history is fascinating and the views at the top are fantastic. The church itself has fabulous acoustics both from the point of view of listening but also for singing. There's a lot of history to this church and it's well worth spending time inside to have a good look round.

Gin, vodka, and rum festival were held at St Mary's. The church was lovely, and the stained glass windows were amazing. The only complaint I had was that there was not enough seating.

An interesting, large church with some interesting history. It is in the area of the original old Nottingham Town and worth a visit combined with the castle which is within walking distance. (Check the are both open!)

Came upon this impressive 15th century church while exploring Nottingham's historic Lace Market. A service had just finished and I was more than welcome to look around. It's like a small cathedral inside, wide and spacious with wonderful stained glass windows, medieval tombs and an interesting old clock. Full of historic interest, atmospheric and very peaceful. The stonework on the exterior of the church is beautiful and very ornate. There are a couple of interesting stories about Robin Hood on an info board near the entrance to the churchyard. According to a medieval ballad, he was captured here by the Sheriff of Nottingham's men while confessing his sins. Only a short walk from Nottingham's bustling Old Market Square, this church is well worth a visit.

We went as there was a maker's craft fair going on which was great, fairly busy too and managed to get a few Christmas presents 🎁 for my loved ones and you can also get a tea/coffee etc so all good and being a church it was a lovely setting

A beautiful space. Okay, its not York or Canterbury, but it sits on a high hill in the city crowded around with Georgian houses (and buildings from the 1800's lace-making times, so check out the Adams building too). The church has loads of history so read about it prior to or during your visit. Afterwards pop-in to St. Peters' church too. Check out the wealth difference where St Peters' is for the plebs and St Mary is for the 'posh'. St Marys has a super choir and orchestra; worth looking out for an event. Oh! and temperature-wise its usually a warm church too. I hope you enjoy your visit.

Magnificent! The architecture is awe-inspiring. I’m not sure though if I could attend services in it as I’m a Catholic.

St Mary's is a beautiful space as a focus for the spiritual heart of the Nottingham community, yet retains a family friendly atmosphere tnat makes it impressive and intimate at the same time. It also has very good acoustics that would work for a musical performance as they do for a sermon. An indispensible building for the city.
