Lovely hotel close to everything 10-15 min walk. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. Top notch customer service. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay at the Walton Hotel. Highly recommend!

Staff are lovely but does not make up for the deficiencies of the hotel. The Walton bills itself as a boutique hotel but it lacks the attention to detail of one: for example, no shower gel nor soap in the shower. I was told I was upgraded but the reality is that it was a downgrade to an old room. Old is fine if it’s up-kept but this one was certainly not! Cobwebs in bathroom, scratches all over walls, mouldings were peeling, broken shower rack and as another reviewer notes, burned carpet, only one towel (you have to figure out for yourself that the second one is in the closet). I could hear the hand dryer from hotel bar all night. They offered to change me to a new room (was nicer) but it had no a/c and it happened to be one of those incredibly hot days so stayed with the a/c. The neglect of the hotel is evident throughout: dirty windows, carpets and tables at the bar. My room was too expensive for what I got. Location is not even central nor do they include breakfast! I recommend you book somewhere else.

I used to live in the park, it was nice to stop off for a beer after work or in the summer rather than go into town It was nice to sit in the terrace and watch the world go by. Great staff, reasonably priced drinks and good food. I hope its not true that its being sold. It would be a shame

Beautiful individually designed and dressed room. Comfy bed and pillows. Clean rooms. You get bath robes too. Lots of lovely Elemis products to use also. Iron board, hairdryer in room. Great bar atmosphere. Quietly warm and vibrant but not noisy. Restaurant is used by public too but seems to be select bunch who visit as very cool and pleasant. Really lovely staff who are very accomodating and helpful. Hearty big food portions at bar, tasty

As usual had a great stay, loved my room which was super comfy. I have stayed at this hotel on countless occasions, I don't go anywhere else in Nottingham. It has a unique vibe, traditional yet really nice. Has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very nice. Loved my dinner, had the chicken and bacon dish. The terrace outside is excellent, and love the little bungalows to.

We stayed there for one night whilst collecting our daughter from University. The room was modern and very comfortable with good facilities. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself had character and the bar had a great choice of drinks, particularly gin. We did not use the restaurant, maybe next time

This hotel is unique and a pleasant place to stay. The rooms are clean and well presented although rather old-fashioned. Each room is also extremely different - we had a very small room, a suite and an apartment but each room was the same price. The staff are extremely attentive and keen to make you feel welcome; everyone was sure to ask that we had slept well and that our rooms were okay. With a little modernisation (and there is work going on) this would be an excellent hotel.

Our room was Β£175. It was extremely small. It was in the lodge not the main hotel. Some of the previous guests clothes were still in the wardrobe. The walls were so thin that we could hear complete conversations in the neighbouring room. In the morning someone walked right passed our window with full view of our room; luckily we were decent. The hotel is beautiful though with a lovely veranda area and bar.

The Walton was in a great location for us and had lots of character. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was quiet and the bed / pillows very comfortable. Our room had a fridge and iron / board as well as the usual hair dryer, tea / coffee making facilities (but no biscuits) etc. We didn't dine there, but breakfast was very good albeit a bit slow. The hotel does need a lot of work though. Our wash basin was cracked, the shower hose needed replacing, the ceiling looked like it was going to fall down soon and generally the hotel looked a bit tired / run down. Not what I'd expect for Β£125 a night for the room only.

Beautiful cosy hotel with a warm atmosphere. First night fantastic service and delicious food. We arrived late, 21.50 yet staff were happy to accommodate and we enjoyed a needed delicious meal. Room was great, needs a little updating and fixing but nothing that ruined the stay. Tea coffee water etc in room were not replaced after first night although room was tidied. We didn't ask as the staff were already far too busy. Second night a function was being held, service was poor with drinks and food due to lack of staff who were all trying their best - holding the function disrupted the service and standard for other guests. We had very long wait for food and drinks and no staff were around to ask. Room was very noisy this night with music and being above a door that kept banging - ruined the whole experience unfortunately. Fantastic Friday night and poor Saturday night. My daughter is at Uni and I live abroad so was hoping to stay every few months. I will give it another try as was saddened by the experience on Saturday with the function. I'm due back in November. Hoping it was a one off. Advice would be to employ more staff in busy function nights and watch out for rooms above that area.

We took a room for two nights in The Walton Hotel, and were captivated by the original decor, and the warm comfy beds. We didn't have breakfast, we don't do that. We did sleep in till 11 am however in a bed that was so comfy, I would have happily stayed all day. I apologised to the receptionist and did not expect the room to be redone but it was to our delight. En-suit bathroom was great but, you have to be careful not to slip when wet! I got a good deal on the room, at Β£80 a night too... Well worth going and we will be going again.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! I stayed in the Hamilton Suite which was gorgeous. Very helpful, friendly man at reception who saw me up to the room....don't know his name! I did not use the bar and restaurant. The bathroom is so beautiful, that I think if I stay at The Walton again, I would spend my whole stay in the bathroom!!! I would definitely stay at The Walton again.

Exceptionally nice interior. Stunning wood panelling, fireplaces and beautiful decor. Drinks are expensive but such is expected from a higher-brow pub. Excellent venue for romance and relaxation.

Used to go to this hotel restaurant quite regularly. However, we discovered today, after a very long gap between visiting, that it is no longer a white tablecloth, waiter service restaurant. It is now a pub which does a small selection of bar food. However, its lovely inside, the staff were very helpful and the food was very good. Quite disconcerting when we first walked in but very cosy and comfortable all the same.

Do not stay here. Although the staff are pleasant and welcoming, the hotel is way over priced for low quality poor condition rooms. To cap it all we got a Β£60 fine for parking in the hotel's own car park! The staff didn't ask us for our registration and how you are supposed to see any parking signs late at night is a howling gale I don't know. A truly terrible experience for what could be a nice hotel.

A high end pub which did not loose it's character. The nice large terrace is a treat and the inside rooms are nicely decorated and furnished so to make this a very enjoyable experience. Food is basic but well prepared and nicely served. Small selection of draft beer including three ales. Nice list of gin with a good selection from more mainstream to craft bottles.

Best hotel I've ever stayed in! It had great service, amazing facilities, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and all at a reasonable price, with breakfast included. I would definitely with out a doubt come back and stay again! Loved it! πŸ‘

Had a great night at The Walton. The hotel was great and the staff very eager to please. I got a great room in an adjoining house. Particularly happy about the bathroom which had very high standard. The bar in the first floor had lots of young visitors, and the only thing I regretted was that I had no time to visit it during my stay. For some reason it took forever to get a cab both times it was ordered, so that is something the hotel can look into. Maybe set up a better deal with one of the companies, or maybe I was just very unlucky. Can recommend the hotel - and will make sure to revisit on my next trip to Nottingham.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
