Unreachable by two different phone numbers. Tried to call to say I was running late. Left in city centre with no accommodation with son at night. Useless do not book. There's cheap and there's your safety!!!

Myself and one friend booked 2 rooms at the Commodore hotel and then changed our minds and booked somewhere else. The owner had taken money from our account but never refunded it despite several tel calls. Eventually the fraud team at the bank refunded the money - the hotel owner had no intention of doing so. Please avoid this hotel.

I would not stay here again and feel we were ripped off being charged £54 for a nights stay. Our first impression was the reception room which was also being used for laundry so we were already not expecting great things. We were shown to our room which seemed ok on first inspection. However, we discovered that the mattresses were as hard as could be and every spring could be felt. The shower was leaking which was leaving a puddle on the bathroom floor. The whole room had an unclean feel to it, carpets, walls, sink. It's more like a hostel than a hotel.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in..!! I booked two rooms with my family and found it far from each other, both rooms lack safe deposit boxes, constantly running out of hot water. Unbelievable how are dirty mattresses!! the rooms stinky, with a bad smell. The place is not clean, the floor is dirty and has a lot of dust, the key room not working from insied it was broken, making it easy for someone to break into our room, The beds were very uncomfortable, the pillows pinched your neck while you slept since they were solid, and the room was covered in dust. The area under the bed was covered in dust and dirt and it’s appeared uncleaned ever. The situation like sleeping in street! Not recommended at all.!!

On arrival was told not to loose the room key otherwise a fine of £25 would be charged - however, said key did not work and the door would not even lock. What kind of hotel/motel service offers rooms that do not provide a door that locks? Left immediately and would not recommend to anyone.

We booked here before reading any reviews, and once we checked we were super nervous about staying. We got there and were greeted by a really polite couple on reception to then find out it hadn’t recently been put under new management. we were then showed to our room and was pleasantly surprised, clean sheets, comfy bed, smelled freshly painted, clean showers/towels/toilet. Everything was as it should be and I felt more than comfortable to stay there. Stayed two nights and got a really good sleep both nights, great location lots of fast food places/convenience stores close by as well :) The managers were so friendly, couldn’t do enough for you especially for the amount you pay. Give it a chance before you avoid because of old reviews!

If you have a dog then DONT book here!!!! Not only have I just lost £49 as the cancellation fee was the same price as the booking fee but I am now having to look else where to stay overnight now and pay even more money!!!! Fuming doesn't come close to what I am feeling right now. The guy on the end of the phone was rude and clearly doesn't have a clue about which dogs. The hotel clearly states it is pet friendly.....does that just include hamsters, goldfish and rabbits???? If it is pet friendly then any pet should be able to stay there regardless of what breed it is or the details on the site should be changed as they are misleading. Thank you for making a single mum out of pocket now and for making me to have to look elsewhere last minute!!!!

A total scam!!! Cancelled my booking 24 hours before i was due to arrive on a booking that was made months ago because there is a 'maintenance issue'!!!! If your rooms need fixing up then don't make them available to book! Left high and dry now having to look for alternative accommodation which will be nowhere near where i need to be and a bigger price. DO NOT BOOK HERE

We are currently sleeping in the car. We both awoke to feeling very ill and feeling like we were burning. The room has been newly painted so I can only imagine the fumes have made us ill. After spitting blood i decided it was time to vaccate the room. (4am) The carpet is filthy, the floor smells like an actual tip. A constant smell of rotten garbage. The shower is filthy, the towels have toothpaste staines on them. The floor was wet with brown liquid which I can only imagine was a last minute attempt to clean it. The radiator pipes are resting on the floor. Huge fire hazard. The code for the door would not work and there is no emergency number so we were stuck outside for a good hour. When we were finally let in the owner didn't apologise and said 'OK ladies remember to keep it down for everyone else' like we were children. Disgraceful. Worst experience of my life.

This is convenient for those who are looking low level budget hotels. It's worth the roughly £20 they judge for each room. Staff are helpful. Please double check your bed sheets as I've experienced dirty sheets on the bed I rented which I asked the staff to change them and I was given a different clean room. The cut off time time for which to check in is at 20:00 which the websites you book do not clearly show so be ware. Some of the rooms could be too hot as the hotel has one heating system for the whole building. I liked it as I opened the window for a breeze but others complained. Location is good as there's buses you can take to and from outside the hotel towards the city centre so don't be afraid to go that extra mile. One more advice for the hotel owner! I think the staff need to be more professional and showing sympathy and interest towards the guests and looking after the hotel in a proper manner! They come across as low class, can't be bothered type of people! I would suggest to get them in line, a simple uniform with a tye should be imposed. After all, it is a business, and NOT a charity handout! I like this hotel, I think it should stay as a low budget. My cousin visited from far and have been touring UK to see family. He was surprised to see how cheap and convenient this hotel was and liked it very much. After l, 3/5!

Remember what you're paying for a room here and you'll undstand what real value you're getting. The rooms are clean, warm and secure. And my shower was powerful and as hot as I could stand it. I was there 3 nights and I wish I have come across the Commodore a week before, and saved hundreds of pounds. It's really easy to find and park, and the road you're on has everything you need shopping wise. 2 minute walk or seconds in the car. Plus the hosts can't do enough for you. What more do you want for as little £25?

I’m giving this a 3 the guy waited for us after check in closed we did appreciate that for check in otherwise would of given this a 1 Make sure to take ID with you they do ask I mean id for you and your partner We went to the room it was spacious to our surprise no curtains or blinds we used bedsheets to cover the windows, room wasn’t clean either For a cheap hotel you get what you pay not fussy but would of been nice to go to a clean hotel room with curtains. Me and partner tried our best to stay there we couldn’t so we left and booked another hotel luckily they had a room left

Like booking with the maffia. The listing originally said "ample free parking". This was changed between booking and arrival. We arrived to a car park full of dirty mattresses, a reception area that was closed and had been turned into a waste tip, no staff to be seen, and notices for a parking company hidden behind rubbish. A staff member appeared 10 minutes later. We paid for parking as soon as she explained that they were, in fact, still in business. We are now being hounded for a £100 parking fine because we missed the deadline by 2 minutes. The room had NO facilities, and a bright outside light keeping us awake all night. If i could give zero stars i would. Criminal extortion is the only term for it. Do not ho here - you will regret it.

Cancelled our booking less than 24hours before, without a call. When I tried to call them, their line was dead and I could not reach them. I sent a new email updating my occupancy, but this was taken as a confirmation I recieved a cancellation notice. The parking is not owned by the hotel, which was not mentioned when booking, meaning we would've had to pay. The lady at reception advised me that I had confirmed the cancellation, when in fact I was updating my booking and unable to contact them via telephone. Considering the short notice, it would've been wise to call. On top of this, we weren't even given a proper reason for the cancellation other than issues with room. This was very frustrating.

This isn't a hotel, maybe a hostel at best. Yes the room was cheap, but what your paying for is a moldy bathroom, no hot water and a room that smells like cigarettes. But don't worry people are not allowed to smoke in rooms, as we were told by the receptionist.

Do not stay at this 'hotel'. We had a full size fridge/freezer in the room?? but no lamp no chair and the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The place looked shabby and very much lacking in maintenance. The shower looked so grubby that we decided not to use it. The car park does not belong to the hotel so you have to pay. You would be better off staying somewhere else. I gave one star because you cant opt for no stars.

The stay never happened. Booked the room in the afternoon and arrived that night to find the hotel locked up and reception closed. Called the number to be told there was no way to check in. Asked why we weren't told when we booked and said we would arrive late. Got no help. Then received a £100 parking fine for the 15 minutes we were sat in their car park trying to get in.

Arrival parking was fine had to pay but wasn’t expensive £5 for 24 hours which is alright although carpark was packed. Went to check in and they could only offer us a family room with bunk beds or a double and family room which was fine. Although we booked two twin rooms apparently fully booked. The hotel had rubbish along the walk way near our room which was disgusting. I think living on the streets would be better then in this. Our double room had no mirror? had stains -“@ over the carpet and was bits in the bed and the room smelt awful like mould with a dripping shower. Even the shower you felt like the floor was dipping in areas. Our family room god that was absolutely vile. Surprised it hasn’t been reported for not being safe the amount of mould in the room was vile. The smell knocked you feeling sick. The window had a spiders nest and mould. The shower was filthy and there was loads of holes in the wall. The floor was wet from im guessing a leaking shower. Anyone could get in the room from the outside as it didn’t lock but it was broken so struggled to get out massive fire hazard if u ask me. The carpet was wet and had loads of stains the desk was dusty with mould and the tea tray was covered in stains. Now the bed sheets were absolutely disgusting there was blood and the single bed had loads of dirt in which we didn’t want to look to close. We did go and complain the women are reception was really apologetic and understood what we was complaining about and was extremely shocked about the dirty bedding. She did change this for us but even then the other one had a whole in but she tried her best. Unfortunately all other rooms was booked up so we had no choice to stay we could of left but because of Halloween there was no where else. Will defo not stay here again and do not recommend. Definitely needs closing down or needs. A massive revamp.
