Lunch. On an industrial estate just outside Nottingham under pylons and a flyover. But don't let that put you off. A little local we know that we've been going to for the last 25 years. When we arrived, the staff were all smiles and jovial. We were seated at the kitchen bench. This is a favourite spot as you can watch all the action for an epic 15 courses. The food is sublime, and every dish is a taste sensation from this 2 Michelin Star restaurant. Thank you to all the lovely staff for the excellent service. Highly recommended.

Lunch The pinnacle of Nottingham's restaurants. It's been a while since we visited our local fine dining gaff in Lenton. Managed to get a last-minute table. It's always worth checking availability for somewhere that is booked up months in advance. If you're flexible on dates and times, you could strike lucky as we did. Words really can't describe the experience of dining in one of the finest restaurants in the UK. Service is very slick and unpretentious, with friendly, charming staff. The menu changes seasonally and is absolutely faultless, from the presentation to the delicious tastes. We'll let the pics do the talking. They currently have two Michelin ⭐️⭐️. Could this be the year they get another. We know this is not in everyone's price range dining out. But if you want a truly memorable experience, it is so worth it. You will remember it for many years, long after the price is forgotten.

We have just had a wonderful experience and cannot praise this establishment enough. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left the staff were all so very welcoming and attentive. We were very lucky to be gifted an overnight package which included the tasting menu and an overnight stay for a joint Birthday and Wedding Anniversary present. Although the food speaks for itself, what impressed us even more was the well trained and informative staff. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and hopefully it will not be our last visit.

Amazing experience at Restaurant Sat Bains. We found the staff were knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing and stuffy. The food was adventurous but delicious. We were advised on a few wines by our sommelier which worked perfectly with the food. Overall, I would give Restaurant Sat Bains a solid 5 stars. It is truly a dining experience not to be missed, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special night out.

A fantastic evening! The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. We were on the kitchen bench and WOW every member of staff was so welcoming and polite, even got to meet Sat himself. The chefs were extremely knowledgeable and took time to listen and answer our questions. We will 100% be going back and hopefully be back on the kitchen table. Yes it is expensive, but what do you expect from a 2 Michelin star?? Thank you from four very happy customers!

Visited for a special occasion and was not disappointed in any way. Utterly stunning foods and many perfect wine pairings. Absolutely enjoyed every course of the taster menu, plus the surprise course in the garden and everyone there was committed to excellence and the full enjoyment of the guests.

I've travelled the world and went to multiple fine dining restaurants. I've never been a fan of British cuisine. Personally, I've always found it bland and lacks heart. Therefore I've put off going to Sat Bains for a while. However, it was the 10 year anniversary with my wife and she asked to give it a try. Upon walking in, the restaurants gave a cosy atmosphere which is exactly what I needed. We opted for the 10 course meal and I was delighted and intrigued with every plate offered. I was happy to be proven wrong. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and I enjoyed conversing with Peter about wine. It was nice meeting the head chef Sat Bains who was welcoming and had a fantastic sense of humor. The price ranges from around 200 Pounds per person which is ideal for what you're going to experience. I'd definitely recommend a visit for an important occasion.

Outstanding food and impeccable service. We booked the Chef's Table with wine flight - which were superb. Also recommend staying over which makes the evening even more special as it lasts even longer (and breakfast is also excellent). Thank you to Sat, Harry, Pedro and all the team who made our experience one to remember.

Very special occasion for us and was lucky enough to get a table last weekend. 10 course meal, too flight of wine plus £250 glass of vintage whisky ended up with a £1350 bill for to. Worth it ? Hell yes, outstanding service, awesome food experience and Sat himself is very approachable and down to earth. Been here a few times but made to feel like royalty. Yes, expensive but hey, not took a holiday for 2 years 😳😳😳😳

An amazing experience to dine at RSB again. Friendly attentive staff guide you through the experience from entering to leaving. Delicious, imaginative and high quality food throughout the 10 course tasting menu, well paced and never felt rushed. We finished our lunch with coffee in the outdoor seating area and a wander around the vegetable garden in the sunshine. Highly recommend for a special occasion or an extra special treat.

Excellent service with fantastic food. We really enjoyed and second visit and will be back in the near future. It’s not cheap (compared with other Michelin starred restaurants but I guess you can charge what you want when your at this standard.

We sat at the kitchen bench watching the pastry kitchen work while we ate. The staff was very helpful and happy to answer questions about the food and what was used to make it. The best dining experience I have ever had. It truly deserves its star status.

Finally got to dine here yesterday, making use of a voucher I received as a birthday gift to enjoy the 10 course lunch menu. Of course the astonishing menu loaded with creativity and depth of flavour is the star of the show here as it is in any restaurant, however it would be unforgiveable for me not to shout out the incredible team that make it even more of a magical experience. Most of all I have to thank my warm, attentive waiter who made me feel at home and my impressively knowledgeable and clearly very passionate sommelier who could sell wine to a lifelong teetotaler. They provided top notch yet wholly unpretentious service and came equipped with good conversation and banter which made me forget that I was dining alone. I was given a lovely little present to leave with however to avoid spoiling people's experiences I won't ruin the surprise.

wow...WoW... WOW! Hubby & I came to celebrate his birthday. Booked the Winter triptych package (10 courses & B&B) was it worth it ABSOLUTELY! From start to end our experience at Sat Bains establishment excelled our expectations. I knew it would be great but it was an exceptional & unique experience. Yes it is pricey, but worth every penny, amazing food experiece, fabulous interior & great exploring the grounds. Most important was every staff member went above & beyond to welcome & ensure you had an amazing time. Very knowledgable in their service provided. Also added bonus getting to meet Sat Bains in person who came out to wish my hubby Happy Birthday, thank you team Bains for ensuring we had a wonderful time. Special thanks to reception staff, Harry, Thomas & Jake. Also another the tall gent serving with fab hair. Thank you xXx Mark & Jag xXx

Five stars isn't really enough when reviewing Sat Bains' restaurant. Perhaps it should have seven, five for the review and two extra from the kind people at Michelin? We visited for our wedding anniversary - and took up the 10 course taster menu - which ended up closer to 13 courses with the addition of a special course, an bonus course/drink freshly made in-front of you in the greenhouse, and some absurdly good bread options. The food, drink and hosting was exceptional - to the point where considering this as merely a 'meal' does it a disservice. This is an experience and it should be savoured. This of course isn't an inexpensive evening, but it is absolutely worth the money if you're celebrating a special occasion.

If your looking for a memorable experience this is the place to be. I didn’t know what to expect from this family gift voucher bought for me. But once there I went all out and enjoyed every second of it. I loved the friendly welcome, the e friendly atmosphere the lovely count-yard and then the cocktails came wow, then we started the amazing food experience explained by such expertly trained staff with so much care in making sure our evening went smoothly and by George it went even better. It was definitely a tick on my bucket list and I would definitely recommend going for you special occasions. An evening/experience I will definitely recommend and never forget. Thank you Sat Bains and brilliant team 10/10

The food was very well designed and the service was excellent. However, a piece of plastic container chip got into the bread which came with the cheese board. I raised the concern about food safety and long story short, the manager was happy to refund the cheese board price and offered us a glass of dessert wine. But still, for a Β£400+ meal, this is not what we expected.

Outstanding experience. The scallop dish was particularly incredible as I typically hate scallops, but couldn't have had enough of this dish. Spacious, delicious and incredible service that acts without the need to ask. Every detail noted for. The field trip in the middle of the courses was a highlight. Enjoy! If theres one point of improvement I'd suggest its the restrooms. They felt like an afterthought rather than following the high end decor of the eating facilities. Expected more of this quality establishment. But thats nothing to dock it any points πŸ˜‰

It was a nice experience and that's about it. We were celebrating two special birthdays. Lovely ambience nice staff and good food. Upselling could be done in much more settle way considering that prices are already quite high. To the one of the lovely waitresses.......if I have made all the way to the table holding to my thin coat with emergency phone in it being on call.... it probably means the six or more of your colleagues already asked me if I want to put it away, perhaps make it less obvious pulling your face when I said I'm ok. Food was very interesting apart from the greenhouse charade with the pizza. Grated Parmigiano burns to the charcoal under the high heat and all you can taste is a πŸ”₯ bitterness......has anyone tasted it before putting this on the menu? It doesn't belong there together with the flat pack greenhouse.

An incredible experience of culinary excellence. We did the tasting menu, 10 courses plus added the greenhouse experience. I’d be hard pressed to choose a favorite course! Felt so full at the end of the night. Natalia, our server, and Peter, our sommelier, were both outstanding and so knowledgeable. This was an evening I will never forget.

My friend and I had the lunch menu. The food was amazing, and served at the correct temperature. I love the atmosphere especially the real wood, deer skin, it felt so homey.

The most wonderful experience to celebrate our best friends' 50th birthdays. From the welcome to check out, everything was first class. The food and wine were incredible, the rooms were extremely comfortable and well appointed, and the staff, in particular Innes, were extremely welcoming and friendly but extremely professional. The added bonus of a trip to The Greenhouse for a freshly made pizza was a lovely touch. Really hope to be back soon!

This was our first time at Sat Bains, it was an amazing experience! We were in the Necleus area. The chef was brilliant, it felt like we were sampling the food at masterchef! The food was out of this world. Definitely recommend it for a special occasion.

An amazing meal, easy to see why they have two Michelin Stars! We sat at the Kitchen Bench, it was so interesting seeing behind the scenes. Lily and Jake were very friendly and answered all our questions while doing their work.

Excellent establishment- recommended by our favourite restaurant in Sheffield (rafters). Would highly recommend coming to Sat Bains at least once in your life. The Eel was worth the visit alone, hands down my favourite dish! Wine, whiskey and cigar selection were all great. Was recommended a fantastic bottle of red recommended by the barman who absolutely knew his stuff. The garden greenhouse was a surprising treat to break up the evening. Didn't stay so can't speak on the rooms but would love to stay over 1 day soon. What a night, thank you very much Sat Bains!

Always a treat. Not my top favorite menu and was not convinced by the wine matching this time, but really enjoyed the lunchtime experience and sitting in the garden for pre and post dinner drinks. Staff all wonderful.

This place is fantastic! This is the second time we have been, this time we brought family with us and I really hoped it lived up to everything we had said. It was utterly amazing and such and experience. All the staff are fantastic and brilliant at what they do. The food and drinks were fabulous.

It was a great experience, however I opted for the pescatarian options and was quite disappointed with the main. It was essentially a salad. All the other dishes were interesting and unique. Mark's top tip: save your bread to soak up sauces.

Superb from start to finish. Stayed and loved the dinner, the breakfast and the room. Couple of tiny niggles in the room, but didn't detract from a premium experience. The food, the service, the gardens - all delivered what you'd expect for the price and the 2 stars

We (a party of 4) had the tasting menu for dinner and what an absolute delight it was. Every dish was spectacular. We did the wine pairing too, which whilst expensive, did make the whole experience perfect. We were given a lot of interesting information about the wines delivered in a fun and engaging way. Something extra special was the visit to the outdoor herb greenhouse where we were treated to a lovely sourdough pizza freshly made and cooked in front of us. This was a really enjoyable experience. The whole evening was fun with friendly and professional service and we were made to feel very welcome. Expect it to be quite expensive, but it was a definite treat! Just lovely!

Dined here last night and stayed over. The tasting menu was delicious as was the matching wines. Our sommelier was fantastic and really enthusiastic. She had great passion and made the experience so much more enjoyable. The staff were attentive without being over the top. They were all happy to chat about the food and all had such great knowledge of the menus! The room was comfortable and breakfast was amazing too. Made to feel very welcome and each dish was amazing. Definitely worth the money. Thank you!

Incredible set menu lunch in a beautiful restaurant. All staff were very professional but relaxed, putting you at ease instantly. Fabulous wine and cocktails with a knowledgeable and friendly sommelier. Incredible, creative food. Complex flavours that you would never normally put together are combined to make little pieces of art. If you're a foodie, you must spoil yourself and visit

WOW. Me and the boyfriend absolutely LOVE this place. The food is amazing and the taster menu is just perfect. You get to have 7 or 10 small courses of absolutely amazing and very beautifully made and plated food. It is quite expensive but well worth the price. Sat is a culinary genius!!

  • 4/5 Tracey S. 2 years ago on Google
Delicious... however far too rich and large portions for 10 courses. Full before the main course. Fortunate to eat at a lot of exquisite restaurants but less is more and unfortunately the individual flavours didn't hit the spot.

Undoubtedly expensive, but I don't begrudge a penny of it. Accommodation was very comfortable. Lovely welcome, superb and adventurous food. Break into your piggy bank to go!
