Great place for families as well as singles, great breakfasts at reasonable competitive prices (cheap for a hotel) ... This family ran hotel has friendly staff and a great atmosphere... Rooms are reasonably priced. And you don't have to be a customer to use the breakfast facilities, which the chefs are always most happy to oblige where it is possible.

We had a bedroom on the main road side of the hotel which was really noisy all night long. The place was clean and tidy but the decor is very dated, not that it bothered us. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, a small TV and a sink. We had the full English breakfast which was excellent and great value for money. Would I stay here again? Yes but would ask for a bedroom at the rear.

* This is not a 3 star hotel * Dirty rooms Moved rooms twice and both times both rooms with dirty and in a poor state of repair!!!! our second room when you flush the toilet dirty water come up in the shower!!!!! Breakfast was terrible value for money and very poor . Breakfast started 7:30 and run till 9 we came down at 8 had to clear the table ourselves there was no glasses for juice no cups for tea or coffee had to go into the kitchen myself to get served ...when the breakfast did come it was a very poor standard value sausage very salty bacon tiny amount of beans and burnt tomatoes and wafer thin mushrooms they forgot to bring a pot of tea and when they bring the pot of tea they forgot the cups and the milk and there was no sugar . To add insult to injury they had the gall to charge us £25 for this horrendous breakfast which I insisted on being refunded which they did would not recommend this hotel EVEN A BUDGET HOTEL SHOULD BE CLEAN

The place is on the main street and is very noisy. In addition, the rooms are very small and not suitable for human use. Finally, those responsible for the place are not responsive in matters of maintenance and will not return the deposit to you no matter how much you try to do so.

Stayed for one night in the triple room. Comfy beds & very clean ( Maybe a little too hot at night....but my fault for not turning the radiator down)) Very spacious with good cupboard & drawer space. Staff were all very friendly & welcoming. Had a great evening in the bar listening to the juke box. Enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfast in the morning, good value. Great location & on the bus route for both the city centre & university of Nottingham (in the middle ). Will definitely be going back. Thank you.

Really bad customer service. However is answering the phone is really rude!

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The receptionist was really lovely and very helpful. The only thing I didn't like was having to share the bathroom facilities. Despite that I would definitely stay at the P& J again.

The room itself has a nice ambience and the staff were pleasant. Had latte and scones for two, which cost £9.20; so not cheap. Though the scones were of good quality they were tiny, so tiny indeed that they had to be home made...even packet scones don't come this small. The coffee was fine.

Need to be updated, but fairly clean and comfortable, we needed accommodation on short notice so was ok for what we needed, close to queens medical centre! Breakfast was great! Very reasonably priced for what you get!

Just stayed for 2 nights. The room was very damp and smelled bad. It was in a very bad state of repair with cracks all over and peeling wallpaper; plus woodwork flaking. A good clean wouldn't have gone amiss. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. Apart from that the staff were nice, which doesn't take away from the disappointing stay. Definitely wasn't worth the £50 per night, which didn't include breakfast.
