My recent experience with this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. Although the hotel itself seemed decent enough, the owner's behavior left much to be desired. Initially, the owner was polite and accommodating, but as soon as we arrived back to the hotel later in the evening, his demeanor completely changed. He became controlling and rude, demanding that we go straight to our room and threatening to call the police if we didn't do as we were told. The reason we were taking a bit longer was because one of our group had lost their phone and we were searching for it. Despite our explanations, the owner continued to behave in an unreasonable manner, which left us feeling incredibly uncomfortable but we did as asked and quitely went back to the room. To make matters worse, the following morning, the owner was still rude and unpleasant. When we tried to express our concerns about his behavior the night before, he became defensive and dismissive. He then proceeded to kick us out of the hotel without any warning or explanation and blaming the fact we'd travelled down from near Liverpool. Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The owner's behavior was completely unacceptable, and we felt unsafe and unwelcome during our stay. If you're looking for a pleasant and stress-free hotel experience, I suggest you look elsewhere.

We booked this hotel through booking .com for next year and our money was taken straight away. We then had to cancel it and through the policy adhered to, we cancelled well in advance. This was 3 months ago! We have been in contact with the hotel, who keep telling us the manager is on holiday and will sort it on his return. The last male who refused to give his name was very rude and unhelpful and told us we would just have to wait for our refund. Booking. com have been informed throughout our complaint. The staff that we have spoken to at this hotel need a serious amount of customer service training and also need to look at their own policy for refunds as they are failing. Be very careful of how you deal with this hotel!

We just read a review from 10 months ago about room 3 (which we just stayed in - unfortunately!) and we can confirm that the same issues in that room still persist! the room smelt awful like gym sweat and the bathroom tap cannot be used because it stinks of sewerage. Would not recommend! Despite the above, the gentleman at reception is very friendly, polite and helpful.

My partner booked me this hotel for a business trip because she wanted to punish me for a row we’d had. The gentleman on front desk was perfectly pleasant but the hotel itself is nothing short of a toilet - and not a very clean one at that. Broken furniture, cold, dirty bathroom fixtures. My horrible little bed was like a prop out of a Saw movie. In the morning, I had to weigh up whether I’d feel cleaner showering or not. If I’d had time to arrange something else I’d have walked straight out. There are plenty of places that provide decent value for money for the meagre £60 a night. This isn’t one of them. Location is fine. Absolute dump. I’d be apologetic for this review if I thought they cared. But it obvious they don’t.

Decent value for money. Room was clean and staff friendly .Giving 4 stars as pub opposite can get pretty loud, as other review mentioned some stricter policy regarding noice could be applied - I was woken up multiple times around ~3am when intoxicated guest from next room were shouting around and slamming doors. Also tiles in bathroom were cracked.

would not recommend to anyone. manager is abusive, rude and aggressive. rooms are absolutely vile. toilet roll shoved into multiple holes in walls to cover it up. tiles are a mess in bathrooms. worst hotel I’ve ever been to, never going again. should be shut down immediately.

Very basic but good value for money in short. The room is a bit smallish. Good enough for one night or short stay though. The room and bathroom were clean. Very friendly stuff. Some things are outdated and would need upgrading, i e. tv. There's a pub and a bar with live music just across the road so it might be a bit noisy. There's also noticeable noise from other rooms. No bar or breakfast option.

Worst hotel ever. Staff are horrid and not understanding. Rooms are filthy and most the stuff is broken. Save your time and effort a premier Inn or a travel lodge is like paradise compared to this.

I checked in at around 17.30 tonight and checked out not even 5 mins later with the stench of urin and damp in 1 room that hit me in the face once I opened the door to the room. It also had a tap that never turned off, I would give it 0 stars

This place is in dire need of some serious TLC. The room was clean but there was a lot of damage from dump. Also somehow although the radiator was off, it started making some rather upsetting noises . The only positive is the staff which was very polite and helpful.

Stayed here last night and after reading lots of negative reviews ive decided to add mine. Staff couldnt have been anymore friendly, chap on reception was very welcoming and quite entertaining. Room was very basic which reflects the price of the stay. Heating works shower was small but very warm. If you want the ritz then i wouldnt stay here but for what we needed and the price we paid it was absolutely fine

The room was very small had a hole in the ceiling and the quilt cover also had a hole in it. There was a deep step down into the toilet/shower room with no warning. There is no restaurant or bar but places near by. But the plusses side was it was very clean and a bus stop right out side with a frequent bus service into the city centre.

It was clean . Beds were dated but we paid for a cheap place to get our heads down after a stag do in Nottingham.

Didn't even make it to the hotel. They changed their payment policy without informing me beforehand so you can't pay on arrival. You pay in advance and when I questioned it I got told its because of other people. I explained that you have to inform of a policy change and have since cancelled my booking. 2 weeks later still chasing up to the point of I've contacted my bank. Not the first and probably won't be the last

Appalling. Do not stay here, you have been warned!! We stayed in room 3 which was very dated and fusty smelling, the bed base was broken, the shower and toilet were in the wardrobe and there was a problem with the plumbing which caused a raw sewage smell when the tap was run. We asked the proprietor about this and he was aware of the problem and clearly thinks it is acceptable to charge £125 per night for this room. We have a lovely video of the room for any doubters.

Great little 3 star hotel which is clean and comfortable and being renovated by the new owner Barry who is friendly and supportive of bikers. Secure parking for a few motorcycle. No food available but a very reasonable price. I'll be back.

Awaiting a refund. Charged and cancelled with in the free cancellation window. After 30 days they had still not processed my refund & when I spoke to them they had not even begun to process this yet.

DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL!!!! Had a terrible experience with them. Either the manager or a member of staff had stolen my expensive property. The manager informed me this was my own fault and I should pursue this legally, even though it had been confirmed my property was there. He was less than helpful, did not assist whatsoever in locating my stolen property and I will never use this place EVER!!!!

The owner and staff are very warm and friendly. The rooms are very clean. I slept like a baby each night. For the price I paid it was certainly worth it. £25 for one of the nights. If you want something affordable, clean and friendly, this is the place.

Room was spotless. Bathroom was decent and bed was a tad bumpy but nothing horrendous. Not to far from the centre too. Does the job nicely if you want a bit of privacy compared to a dorm hostel room since it's only a few quid more. The chippy over the road is amazing too. Cheap and clean which is what you want at this price point.

Very nice friendly hotel, both gentlemen behind the counter were lovley. Great value for money. Only downfall was the reception was closed till 10am and I wanted to book the room again for another night stay but wanted the same room, so was unable to guarantee the same room if I booked online so I didn’t book, so the hotel missed out really. But it was an enjoyable stay :) thank you x

Noise from pub opposite kept me awake with music until 1 am. Then a further half hour of shouting. Owner was patronising to our female members. Room was uncomfortable. Beds need new mattresses. Night staff smoked outside and the smoke wafted in to one of our members rooms so they had a choice of closing the window on the hottest day of the year or putting up with the smell of cigarettes.

I’ve got two more nights booked here in the week but I stayed here 13/05/22 and the chap on the counter was amazing! He was very helpful, took my payment and even said that I could bring my boyfriend back with me for the night after his theatre performance. Only downfall is no breakfast anymore but it’s a lovely place, the memory foam mattresses are so comfy too. ❤️

Great value for money. Room 1 has 3 single beds and were comfortable. Overall great except parking was challenging and only a limited space.

Cheap but very clean. Rooms have everything you need and for a budget hotel, it's not bad at all. My only complaint is the noise from other rooms. I know it's not the staff fault but a stricter policy in regard to that would make the difference. Staff are very friendly and helpful
