Love love love this cafe in Nottingham. The best independent place in town, in my opinion. The staff are really nice and the food is always amazing. Great selection of cakes and hot drinks too. Today’s choice was vegan breakfast (mushrooms swapped out). Everything was perfect! Would order again. I’ll be returning soon!

Oh this is such a gem of Nottingham! Myself and my husband visited Nottingham on Saturday just fir a look around as I had never been. We were only staying for a few hours but wanted to grab some coffee and something to eat. We what a treat!! This place is fabulous! Such a gem of Nottingham. The staff were super friendly and really helpful! The food!! It was to die for. The soup that I had with my toastie was out of this world and I could have just had the soup on its own! The cake selection is brilliant and I found it so difficult to make a choice but I ended up with the cake of the day. A beautiful lemon cake. The serving size was more than enough and I wasn't able to finish the whole thing so my lucky husband had the left overs. We will absolutely visit here again the next time we are in Nottingham.

My first visit to Cafe Sobar this morning after hearing so much about it. Had the Falafel wrap, The Big 5 Smoothie and a Flat white. Everything was gorgeous. Lots of smiles around from staff, I felt genuinely welcomed and comfortable there. Will be back again. Thank you so much Cafe Sobar for an uplifting Sunday morning.

Lovely staff, constantly smiling and felt very welcome. Good vibes and good value. Food was amazing, all hot and freshly cooked, with very quick service, waited max 15 minutes. The cafe itself is lovely, very bright but not too overwhelming. Overall, a very good experience, will definitely be coming here again and would definitely recommend!

First visit today for breakfast. Lovely welcoming service, tasty and reasonably priced food. Will 100% come again, recommended. All profits go to drug and rehabilitation charity and the ethos behind the entire business is great. ❤️

Really nice welcoming cafe. We're from out of town, and my wife, daughter and I fancied coffee a cake. But we wanted somewhere not franchised. This place was lovely. Drinks, cake and very welcoming staff. Tables and groups were spread out nicely. Would highly recommend a visit here.

The food was absolutely INSANE!! They said the normal chef wasn’t in today but i honestly couldn’t tell, whoever cooked that food today definitely should be working in the kitchen! The prices were also very reasonable. The manager was very welcoming Would come here again in a heartbeat if i was more local to here!!

Stayed in Nottingham for a night for a friends party and went out for breakfast in the morning. The food was great (brilliant for vegetarians and meat eaters), the staff were great and I love the fact it's a charity based cafe. The price fits the portion sizes and the drinks. 10/10 recommended

Visited on my own earlier today and thought it was a great experience! Staff are super friendly, professional and attentive. Food was also excellent (I had a Full English breakfast)- it came out quick and was very yummy. Wide selection of drinks (as someone who doesn't drink alcohol, this is great to see). I had a Bellini mocktail and felt super fancy. I'll definitely be making the trip back!

Visited for breakfast which was tasty, slightly on the pricier side altogether coming to £30, staff were friendly and atmosphere was nice. I'd recommend trying the sourdough bread that comes with the breakfast, it pairs really well with the food and is a nice change from toast you'd usually get.

What a great place to start the day, breakfast was amazing and a wide choice too. Service was great and all the staff very friendly too, food didn't take long to come out and the place was busy with quite a quick turn around. First time visit and will definitely be going back.

I visited Nottingham for Pride and wanted somewhere to go for a drink after. I am always on the lookout for great non alcoholic options, and this place delivered! I really wanted a non alcoholic cocktail but love milkshakes so I had both. Picked the kids' option strawberry milkshake and was not disappointed. I also had a Bellini. While waiting, we had cucumber and lemon water for free! The choice of cakes was insane but it was no contest choosing the rocky road. The staff were delightful and informed me that the bar is also a charity for drug and alcohol services. Prices were very reasonable and great choices on the menu. The interior is super funky and I will definitely be returning when I next visit Nottingham 🩵

Friendly helpful service and really excellent food. Nice decor, looks like it was formerly a bank building and it's got a fancy ceiling.

Really, I love Cafe Sobar. I feel safe there, often arrange to meet friends there for coffee and cake. It’s generally quiet enough to concentrate on some work while waiting for a bus. The service and waiting team is lovely, polite and helpful. BUT every time I go in, I am met by the manager dashing towards me, calling me ‘Madam’, which I guess he means politely but I find quite unwelcoming, and asking me if I’m ‘joining us today’. Usually followed by a comment about having stopped serving food, or even closing soon (before 3pm). I feel unwelcome. Every time it happens I think I’m just being too sensitive, but he never smiles, and I don’t notice him doing with most of the other customers. It’s such a pity when his team is so nice that he can’t be a bit more welcoming. I even went as far as asking him if he minded my being there this afternoon! Which is ridiculous. It’s a cafe so why wouldn’t he want customers? There are so many small things he could do to give a better first impression - stand back a bit, smile, ask if customers are there for drinks and cake, rather trying to put people off by abruptly saying something is no longer available.

Best British Breakfast in Nottingham. And the people who work there are soo lovely. Thank you so much for the great service. I wish I could visit you every day, but I live in Berlin. You should open a Cafe in Berlin as well. It is soo awesome that your place is designed so friendly, colourful and open. Thank you for this great experience.

Delicious vegan breakfast sandwich. So good I came back the next day to eat it again. Also ordered an oat milk late to go with it. Cozy atmosphere and great staff!

After a cold morning with the doggies me and my partner were struggling to find somewhere, comfy, lovely and dog friendly, I’m very pleased with finding cafe sobar. The staff are incredibly friendly and warm, the decor is very tasteful and the food was amazing! That turkey Christmas sandwich was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! A real 10/10

Me and my partner was in Nottingham for a dylan gig. Hotel breakfast times to early for us. So we decided to have a walk round the town and find somewhere a bit later. Walked past this place saw a man seated near the window his breakfast looked amazing so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did its a lovely little place. Atmosphere is very chilled. Staff very attentive and the food my god the quality is the best I've ever had especially the sausages and sour dough bread. Just a shame we live in hull otherwise we would be there every week . We'll done to all involved

I visited the venue yesterday and had a warm welcome by ALL the staff. I had a breakfast, and I had been told It was the best in Nottingham City Centre and I have to agree. We were seated and the cleanliness is second to none. the service was swift but not rushed like other places. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone visiting Nottingham

I love this local cafe, they work with a wonderful charity to support those on the journey to sobriety, which is a fantastic cause! And their passion for caring for others shows through with their cafe service, too. The staff are welcoming and attentive, and the menu offers both omni- and vegetarian and vegan options. The tables are well spaced and comfortable to sit at, with unique and cool decor to add to the quirky and independent vibe of the cafe. Definitely worth a visit for a coffee or light lunch!

Staff were welcoming and friendly although they did rush us out, hovering to take our empty plates and cups IMMEDIATELY. Menu had good choice, including vegan. Coffee delicious. Bit disappointed with the portion size of a bacon sourdough!

Had a fantastic lunch here. The staff are terrific and couldn’t do more to look after their patrons. Jason brought our dog Lils some sausage and the red velvet cake homemade by Kate was delicious! Portions are great and all profits go to drug and alcohol charities. Definitely coming back! Thanks again ❤️

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
