Great scenery and location with plenty of walking trails and bike paths, all complimented by some great views. Plenty to do from biking to GoApe and the cafe there is great for lunch, breakfast or just a coffee. Part features kids slides, climbing frames, etc. Overall a great day out.

Recently had family picnic at this beautiful woodland in Nottinghamshire. We arrived for 10.30am on a Saturday and had no problems finding a parking space. Toilet facilities are excellent and next door to a lovely cafe which we didn’t use on this occasion as we’d brought our own food. Great play areas for children although not perhaps toddlers yet.

Lovely walk with our cockapoo, easy multiple trails to follow with coloured signs. Plenty of room for our dog to go off lead and have a good run around. There's also a play park, cafe ( doesn't allow dogs in), and toilets .

Beautiful area. Stayed in Sherwood forest . Great walking paths on your door step. Wide and gravelled walks suitable for buggies, wheelchairs and good for elderly as not alot of hills. Enjoyable for a weekend or group celebration. Worth visiting.

Loved it here. We didn't explore fully as we had our 3 year old and it would of been too much. We came mainly for the gruffalo trail which was fantastic. Lots to see and few playgrounds on the way round. Free to walk around just car parking to pay for. Nice cafe too.

So much to do! Walks, mountain biking on managed trails (you can hire a bike), disc golf, treetop nets, Go Ape, wartime trenches experience, adventure playground, kids trails, food (and ice cream!) in the cafe, or just take a picnic and relax. All in the beautiful surroundings of the forest. There's ample parking which is £8 for the whole day, with options for less time. Make sure you track down the hidden adventure playground!

Absolutely lovely walk in the forest on a stunning day. 3 different trails clearly marked out along with several mountain bike trails. A picnic area is available by the visitors centre, along with a cafe & toilets. Pay & display car park & cycle hire. Along the trails there are also picnic benches.

It's been a while since visiting but reminded me of how nice it is to visit. Great if you're an avid cyclist, looking for entertainment for the kids (Go Ape), or to get a few miles in with the pooch. If there's a cycling event on maybe better to keep to the running routes that are away from the main trails. Didn't have any issues with cyclists as they also have their dedicated areas/ routes. If you're lucky you might bump into a few deer but they are closer to the trail that leads to the Log Cabins which are also great to visit.

Absolutely incredible! Staff are fantastic, especially Jane who helped us during our stay. Local walks are lovely and there is plenty to do whilst you are there. We went to the local pub (Dog & Duck) one evening which was only a short walk away. Would definitely come back again to this site! Hot tubs are also stationed privately and regularly serviced by the team. Kitchen has everything you need!

Lovely place to visit. Pretty much caters for everyone and their dogs. The bike trails are challenging and fun for all the family. The toilet facilities are very clean. Hot and cold foods served in the complex. Parking is a bit on the expensive side, but it makes up for the amazing atmosphere.

Our favourite campsite in the UK!! Mountain bike heaven. Good bike shop, cafe, go ape etc all on site. Great bike trails through the forests that are well sign posted and maintained. 10/10.

It’s lovely place for a walk and biking, although I haven’t actually biked here yet. I often come here to walk my dog, a lot of dogs walk here so it’s lovely. They also have like a trench here, although I don’t have any pictures.. but it’s very cool and allows you to try imagine how one would be like. They also have like a tree climbing thing? It’s a bit expensive but super fun, I haven’t been on myself buy my siblings and friends had.

Absolutely beautiful. Wide open space where kids can burn off lots of energy. Came to see the WW1 trenches which were really interesting. A lovely day out, we'll definitely visit again.

Beautiful area with plenty to do from go ape, bounce nets for the little ones. Miles of beautiful scenic walks and bike tracks, ranging from easy to experienced trails. Wigwam building and much more. Keep an eye out for the intricate wood carvings dotted around.

Lovely place to go with the family and chill. Hot tub was a bit too hot but an engineer came round very quickly. Attentive staff and a nice retreat for food. Lots to do nearby and a couple of good local pubs for dining in if required, off site. We tried the air rifle shooting and Segway, both great fun.

Been to Sherwood Pines more than once, doesn't really need a review, it's just a place of natural beauty and amazing to walk round. The kids love it and it's peaceful and awesome. Just go and see for yourself.

Trails to suit everyone, walking or cycling, on or off piste, loads to do if you know where to look. Very much family oriented, not so much for your super rad, gnarcore weekend warrior mtb dude. DJ’s are great and the blue bike trail is swoopy fun in places. Great cafe and friendly bike shop. Price of parking is outrageous, National Discovery pass is the way to go.

This camping site is in the heart of the forest and has been designed with care. It caters for a mix of campers with various pitches, with and without electric hook up, suitable for tents, touring caravans and motor homes. The toilet block is modern and carefully laid out to include two male and two female washrooms which are kept scrupulously clean. The same building also contains a large washing up area, drying room with heated lockers plus a well equipped dog wash room. This site is a stroll away from a Go Ape centre, where you can also hire mountain bikes to ride the waymarked cycle trails which have varying skill levels. Or you could enjoy a walk around the forest on a waymarked trail. All without having to worry about traffic!

Really enjoyed our dog walk and the boys enjoyed the climbing frame. Although very popular there was plenty of space and room for all. The food stand was great good food at a reasonable price. Will definitely go back. The wood carvings are superb.

This magickal forest is a different visual experience depending on what time of year you visit. A cool place to visit on a hot day, and always visually spectacular no matter the weather - although the place tends to shut if it is windy. Wide array of path choices for walking and well signposted. Your dog will love you even more if you bring it here.

Easy to find and has got areas for family picnics etc. The onside cafes also provide adequate food and drink too. There are areas for the kids to play and the site offers many trails for both cycling and walking and of different levels. I did the rangers trail personally. This trail took you through all aspects of the forest and was a little challenging at times. The scenery and serenity of the forest was fantastic and I can't wait to do it again.
