Such a lovely place to visit. Very interesting and enjoyable for all ages! Places to eat and drink, including an old fashion pub. Walk at the top end of the village through the woods with beautiful wooden and stone sculptures. Tram can take you up and down the village, making it easy access for anyone who can't walk too far. Staff very friendly and helpful had an amazing time thank you!

Everyone remembers going to Crich when they were a kid and remembering how great it was. Well, it still is great. Even if you ain't bothered about trams, the old time village set up is fantastic, with tea rooms, shops and a pub. Yes a proper pub with proper booze. If you are bothered about trams then there is a fantastic array of trams and as a museum is fantastic and informative. Plus they do tram rides too, which is actually pretty cool. Admission is pretty decent, especially as the admission is valid for the year.

A wonderful place to visit, especially at summer time with your families, friends, and younglings. This place is just full of life, and a lot of people and all kinds of stuff to see like: quite big variety of trams, big collection of all kinds of motorcycle from WW1, WW2, old classic ones, and modern ones as well, parks etc. Very unique and beautiful place for sure! To visit my verdict - 10/10 strong one!

Absolutely amazing! It is a wonderful place for all ages at more than reasonable prices, and you can return at any time within 12 months for free. The volunteers do an amazing job and are very friendly, professional, informative, and helpful. There's a picnic area, cafe, pub, sweet shop, souvenir shop, and an ice cream parlour, all in keeping with the age of the tram. Thanks to Ken for the guided tour.

Really interesting place! I love everything mechanical, and was really good to see these bits of machinery looking so loved and still working. The setting is incredible too! The rebuilt pub, the street furniture, and the museum section with the workshops was really informative. If you get chance to go here, it's well worth it. We spent about 3 to 4 hours here and still didnt see everything, but we will be back soon. Also free admission for 12 months after!

What a hidden gem. We went on a weekday, and what a splendid day we had. Obviously quiet, but lots to see and do. Pay for adult entry, and you can use that ticket all year. Plentiful parking has a cafe, magnificent pub, and ice cream parlour. The tour, delivered by Ken, was insightful, funny, and informative. Ken, you should be on stage with your quips and big-hearted delivery. The tram rides take you up and down, and you can do the woodland walk, up to the monument with views to 8 counties. Picnic areas with outdoor seating and the exhibition hall with a mine of information. All in all, a great day out and worth returning to. All the staff are warm and welcoming. All run by volunteers and commendable work. From engineers, inspectors, guides and back room staff. Well done.

Lovely day out with the kids. Was really surprised at what was on offer. I would say just over half day is fine. Fascinating how they built it all and the history. Well worth it if your kids are say up to 14/15 or they love history. Nice home made produced sweets/beers etc. Well worth the entrance fee. Has a lovely woodland walk from the top which really extends the day - we loved playing with the massive dominoes

We have been at least 4 times when on holiday in the Peak District. A great day out with as many rides on various trams as you want. Some nice walks as well with plenty outdoor spaces for children and for having a picnic

I remember visiting the Tramway as a child and had the pleasure of returning as an adult with my own children this weekend. What an absolute delight! It had everything you need for a family day out: pub, sweet shop, gift shop, museum, play park, small indoor soft play, picnic area and a woodland walk. Best of all, you can get back in for free for a year with the initial ticket you buy! Please note that pushchairs can't go on the trams and have to be left in the buggy park - this holds around pushchairs. We went on a relatively quiet day so I imagine the buggy park would be busy in the height of summer or event days - just something to be conscious of! All in all, it was a fantastic, nostalgic day out and we can't wait to return!

Fantastic place to visit. Teams were amazing, so much history of a bygone time. The volunteers really work hard to make it special. The ride on the trams was great, along with the inside museum. We loved the woodland trail with the carvings. The person that makes these is very talented. We loved the wooden drum kit and β€œMr Potatoe head” carvings. The soft play was excellent and unexpected. We were really glad we visited.

One of the best days out in North! Super family friendly place, outdoor and indoor play area with loads of activity trails to choose from. Both children and adults loved it! Tram rides were brilliant. The tickets allowed entry for 12 months we will definitely be back this Summer 😊

First visit in a decade and it just gets better. Visited for the 1940s weekend over Easter and what an atmosphere! So many people in period dress and really getting into the spirit. Very busy so had to wait to use a lot of services but plenty to see so not too bad. The drivers and conductors were on top form, giving lots of information. Really enjoyed myself and would recommend to anyone. If you have access needs it would be best to call ahead to discuss, especially on event days. If you can avoid bringing a pram etc when with children it will help you immensely.

Absolutely loved it. Took my family of 5 for the day (Β£49 family saver which entitled 12 months access) and we were all entertained/educated for the whole day (not easy with all the different ages). Lovely location, great people running it and loads to do. Preserving British heritage. Well done!

If you're interested in trams then this is dreamland. If you're not particularly fussed about trams then this a fascinating and extremely interesting place to visit. We ended up spending the whole day here. Had several trips on different trams. Walked up to the fabulous Crich Memorial Tower. There are exhibitions, old village scene, workshop viewing gallery, lead mining display, woodland walk and sculpture trail, tram sheds with many beautifully restored trams, lovely pub, tea room and shops. Friendly staff and free parking. Extremely good value.

What a great place to spend a day… so much to see and do, the execution is brilliant with period buildings dismantled from their original location and rebuilt here, we spent a day and could have spent longer, well worth the very reasonable entry cost and the cafe was reasonable as well. Pet friendly and such a great atmosphere you’ll have as wonderful a time here as we did.

I had a lovely day and really enjoyed it. I rode on the trams 🚊 I also visited the tram museum, visited the public house and the tea room there, which I also enjoyed. There was a long queue in the tea room, but the food was delicious πŸ˜‹ It was worth the wait. All the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. I would definitely come again. Thanks for a fantastic day πŸ˜€

Tramway museum in Derby, 20 min drive from town centre. It's on a hilly area, so carry travel bands/tablets, if you have anyone with motion sickness. I would say 3 hours would be more than sufficient to explore the whole place even with the little ones. Major attraction being tram rides, which vary in shape and size. Tram run around is in 2-3 mile radius. With tram leaving every 15min. It's open all 7 days from 10 am - 5.30pm with last entry around 4pm. You have restaurants which offer you fast food like bergers, chips, drinks and ice creams. Toilets are available and clean. They also have live band in the evening to rest while having your drinks. Staff is very polite and helpful. We were offered 50% discount on Family tickets as we entered around 3.30pm but were still done by 5pm. Try to sit on the upper deck if you need to have mesmerising valley views, pics attached.

An excellent place to visit to take a tram ride to the past.... Some may say I am biased as I am a volunteer member of the tram crew, who drive and guard the tramcars... But this is a place that everyone should visit. The ticket price includes unlimited tram rides on the day and allows free admission for twelve months. Different trams run on each day and subject to volunteer availability three trams are scheduled to be available. Be aware however that the operating season is March to the end of October. Vital maintenance work takes place each winter. In just over sixty years the site has developed from a derelict quarry to the visitor experience of today. Apart from a small number of stone buildings which were there originally everything else on site has been transported from original homes all over the world... A New York Streetcar to a pub (The Red Lion... Demolished in Stoke on Trent but transported brick by brick to site). Plenty for all the family to see and do. Please visit and experience it for yourself.

Crich Tram Museum truly is the best day out for the family I've had in 2021 and we've been allover. Seriously this is a FULL day out and the walks, activities, vehicles and people are REALLY on point!!! Five star

I’ve wanted to visit here for a while and it didn’t disappoint, not least because of their Covid compliance but also their dog friendliness. Course we pick the one day there is an Eastern block car meet but even this didn’t make it too crowded and car owners were respectfully social distanced and not crowding areas. The dog also gives thumbs up to the bacon butties but thumbs down to the tram ride, but then he’s of a nervous disposition πŸ˜‚ Everyone else loved it. Do book ahead at the moment as reduced numbers mean you don’t turn up and be turned away disappointed, and arrive early to ensure a tram ride slot, tho they are doing reduced price entry without tram rides at the moment too.

A wonderful day out, we often go. It is like stepping back in time. The trams and museum are very interesting and great fun too. Our little boy loves the park, the nature trail and the carvings. He always has a great day. The pub, cafe and old sweet shop are perfect too, and to top it off the scenery of the Peak District is stunning too! We urge you all to come along.

A brilliant place to visit. This place was so fun. The tram city is very cute with lots of old trams to see and you also get to ride some of the working trams as many times as you like. The walking trail is awesome. So much to discover with little sculptures some which are hidden and small little activities to do. We really had a fun time exploring around. Definitely recommend coming here especially if you have kids.

Absolutely loved this place. Thought I'd spend a couple of hours here, ended up spending the day. Let's start with the staff, they are brilliant. There were a couple of young men with learning difficulties, the staff made them feel very special, in a very appropriate way, I'm sure they will go away with happy memories of Crich. The tram collection is superb, it's not boring, it's been put together to be interesting. The tram rides along the high street and out into the countryside offer superb views over the surrounding countryside. You can then jump off and follow the woodland walk back down, it's great for adults and kids. The prices of food and drink are very reasonable, rolls/baps and sandwiches being freshly prepared, great ice cream, and a great choice of beers at the pub. All in all well worth a visit, and your ticket is good for 12 months.

I’ve been visiting Crich tramway museum for probably about 50 years and have enjoyed every single visit. We visited last weekend for the first time for a few years mainly for an Eastern European car event and despite the Covid secure measures had a great time. The cars were great but the trams are always the star.

Enjoyable visit, visited on a hot sunny day so it was nice to see the Blackpool open boat tram out along either 2 other trams. Good selection of trams on view at the front of the sheds. Nice food available at the cafe, good value! Nice forrest trail with wooden sculptures. The only negative point is that it's a pity they keep the same 3 trams out all day, it would be nice if they swapped them half way through the day.

Loved it. We didn't think it would take a day to see everything, but it did. There is plenty to see and do. The volunteers are brilliant. They are very knowledgeable. Lots for the kids to see and do. Oh yes, the Doctor was around somewhere. Well, his Tardis was anyway, so hubby was happy.

We have just had an amazing day out here. As a disabled person visiting with family some of whom are also disabled the staff were so helpful and friendly. They told us the best ways to go and where the amenities were. One particular tram driver and conductor went above and beyond for us with help getting my dad's walker on and off the tram for us and offering help anyway they could. I would definitely recommend visiting.

I have mixed feelings about the place. Everything to do with the trams is amazing and top quality. People were waving at each other from the trams which was fun. The conductors were great and treated the kids wonderfully. The woodland walk was great with amazing and funny wood art. The staff everywhere are wonderful on the trams, in the shops and everywhere else. The only let down is the food and drink. It really does feel like we have gone back in time in a bad way. For such a top quality site, this let down the whole experience. People are used to nice coffee shops and good quality pub grub now and this is far short of both of those. Sort out those and this would be five stars easily :-) PS A little tip when it's busy is to catch the trams from the terminus as by the time you get to they later stops you can't get on as the trams are too busy.

Visited last Thursday, lovely place well laid out. Very interesting and enjoyable. The tram ride was good and we walked back down through the wooded sculpture park. Interesting exhibits. Can recommend the food at the pub, freshly made and good prices. The cafe was nice as well. The sweet shop brought back memories of old favourites. The trams are staffed by volunteers who are happy to chat about the history of the trams etc..

So much to do and see. You can ride an old fashioned tram. Learn the history of trams, and where the trams travel to in each county. Old styles sweet shop with a variety if choices. Nice gift shop. Park great for kids of all ages, woodland trail with wood sculptures leading to an activity area. In the area you can place snakes and ladders, naughty and crosses, go in a maze and play with so many other things! Completely reccomend for all the family!

A great place to visit, maybe not a full day out but definitely a good few hours. Loads to see and do. Obviously the tram rides are the highlight, well they were for us but the static exhibits were very good too. Take a trip to the end of line and enjoy the walk up to the tower and memorial. A pleasant 15 stroll. Friendly staff always happy to help. The cost of your ticket allows you to return as much as you like for 12 months.

Lovely place to visit, great for the grandchildren. From the enjoyable tram rides to the woodland walk and the out door play area and indoor play area too for not so good weather days. With free entry for 12 months when buying a ticket it's great value. We find ourselves visiting quite often. The children's faces light up when we say we can go. It's great for picnics or get something to eat there.

Great family day out. Unlimited rides on the old fashioned trams. Pub, cafe, sweet shop, gift shop, museum, loads of old trams in the tram sheds and in the great exhibition hall. Outdoor playground and woodland walk, both with imaginative wood carvings. Mining exhibition, lovely walk up to the memorial tower with awesome, breathtaking views. Plus an ice cream parlour and indoor soft play area for the under-10s. This is a brilliant day out for the family and your ticket lasts all year round.

So informative. Vibrant surroundings with the different eras being represented so well. The staff are so friendly and warm. Worth the money and with the free entry for one more trip in the next 12 months included in the entry price then it's totally worth it!!

Really lovely place to visit for all ages and dog friendly. My 3 and 6 year olds loved it as much as my grandparents. There's some little old fashioned shops to look round and buys things from. You can ride the tram as many times as you like. Currently you have to wear a mask on the tram and in the shops. There were fun things going on for the children. Near the entrance you could make pine cone bird feeders and near the shops there was a children's entertainer doing bubbles and playing with ribbons. There was also a small soft play which is always a hit with young children.

Fantastic day out! Lots to see and do. Very friendly, pleasant staff and volunteers. Teddy Bears Picnic and trail a bonus for children of all ages! Once entrance fee is paid don't need to spend much more. Unlimited Tram rides included and it's free entry for 12 months thereafter. More visits are a must!

We had a great few hours here today. It happened to coincide with a Steam punk weekend so it was really fun walking round. The trams are in fantastic condition with regular runs up and down the track, you hop and and off all day as part of the price. We stopped for lunch in the cafe and had really nice sandwiches and toasted sandwiches. Will definitely return.

An amazing collection of trams. 4 different trams were in service on the day. You get an old penny to exchange for your tram ticket, and you can ride as often as you like. The ticket for the museum is valid for the year. Pub, tea room, sweet shop, and ice cream parlour onsite. Great museum sections and lovely woodland walk, plus great play areas with picnic tables.

  • 5/5 Laetitia M. 6 months ago on Google
What a fantastic day we've had. My girls got to take tramway trips and step back in time for an afternoon. There was plenty to do and see, so much so that we couldn't see it all in one day (I'm glad the tickets give us a yearly pass and we can come back as often as we want). There was a tea room, a cafΓ©, a book store, a sweet shop, a train and tram museum. The playground was well equipped, and we managed to have a great picnic as well. The place is kept clean. As a historical buff, I always delight in places that make me feel like I walked through a time portal. It's a fantastic place for all ages. The parking lot is spacious and free.

  • 5/5 Sarah T. 8 months ago on Google
Absolutely brilliant day out for the whole family. Bring a pack lunch as food options are quite limited and there are plenty of picnic benches dotted around the whole site. So much for the kids to do too, inc both indoor soft play and a lovely spacious outdoor play area.

  • 5/5 Phyllis H. 8 months ago on Google
A small but beautiful tram village with plenty of surprises. Many different trams, some of which you are able to ride, different ones each week. An enjoyable woodland walk with fun sculptures ending with a playground. There is also a tram shed which houses the trams and which one can explore. A repair shed and museum can also be found on the site. A lovely day out.

We met up with a friend and had a fantastic time at Crich! Three adults, a baby and a pug, a brilliant experience for all! 🐾 We really loved travelling on the trams. A special mention needs to go to the man in the printing press office, what an interesting and talented individual. We loved chatting to him and learning all about printing. What a massive array of trams to look at and get up close to. Highly recommend this as a day out! πŸšƒ

Absolutely ace. If you can show a blue light card (nhs) you get Β£2.50 off. We went on a weekday and it wasn't too busy so hardly any queue for the tram ride. There are some cobbled roads etc as you would expect so wheelchairs beware. There is a reasonably priced cafe as well. The most fascinating part is the open tram sheds where there are trams from literally all over the world, including Blackpool πŸ˜€. It's a great way to spend a day.

Excellent day out with my grandkids, they loved the static displays an really enjoyed riding the trams. Woodland walk was pleasant with sculptures and things to do along the way. My grandson especially enjoyed the walk and views from Crich Stand. In all a very enjoyable day, bonus the ticket is valid for 12 months from date of issue and we'll definitely be returning.

Enjoyed an crisp Autumnal day at Crich Tramway Village. There are a few trams running on the central track that you can ride on, with well behaved dogs as well. I was not expecting the variety and volume of trams there are in the sheds. It's an incredible collection. Some of the vehicles are open to explore the interior while others you can admire from the outside. There is also a sweet shop. The ticket lasts a full year. Well worth spending the time to explore this place. Can easily spend half a day here. I'll be back soon.

Great way to spend the day. I'm not a tram person or enthusiast but I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Crich Tramway Village. Plenty to see and do and the fact that you can go up and down the Village on a different tram all day was great. If you get the chance take the guided tour with Ken, he was a lovely, enthusiast and funny guide. Particularly the story about the underground toilet vent. The walk upto the war memorial is a great walk. You will be rewarded with fantastic views and a nice little tea shop.

  • 5/5 Sam F. 1 year ago on Google
I really enjoyed it. As you'd expect there are plenty of trams to look at and they have several running you can ride on. There are also several good exhibitions with various information. I also enjoyed the Woodland Walk, which has some good tree art. When I went it was a special event themed on the 1940s, with music and many other guests in consumes. Created a very interesting atmosphere. I will say the cafe got overwhelmed and we had to wait quite a while. I think the staff were doing the best they could, but there just weren't enough given how many of them there are.

Good place to visit and see. You get to ride the old trams , a couple of nice walks with a kids play area. Nice tea room that does good food, too. You can Walk around the live work shops. It happened to be a classic bike show So, I got to see plenty of classic bikes to. Did I mention the retro shops and pub.

A great place to visit even if trams aren't your thing. There's so much to do and you feel like you have stepped back in time. There is a pub, a cafe, a sweet shop, tram rides, interactive trails and much more. It's wonderful to see some of the types of tram, although my knowledge is zero they are still great to look at. Your ticket also allows you free 12 month entry. Highly recommend.

A pleasant day out, with a lovely wooded area to walk in (which for me was the highlight of our day). However as a museum ostensibly focusing on being a tram Village, I did find the Crich Tramway Museum somewhat lacking; we did struggle for things to do on the day. It's a lovely setting with great potential, and what appeared to be substantial play areas if you're taking kids. I was also very impressed with the clean down on the trams between trips- nice to see people taking Covid seriously! Helpful review? Hit that like button!

A good day out was had by us,pity covid got in the way a little bit,cos some of the displays were removed, but still there was lots to look at, all set on a cobbled street, even Dr Who had been at some point cos he left his Tardis behind. Old phone proved a bit of entertainment, even dogs are allowed on the grounds, lots to photograph,if you like photography.

Absolutely loved this place. So much for kids to do. Friendly staff. Only thing that let it down was food which wasn't good. Plus the ice cream place wasn't taking money and said u had to pay in the sweet shop then go back for the ice cream! Must lose loads of business there as we couldn't be bothered to queue twice.

Great place. Well organised and friendly staff. Things a bit different as some attractions not available but understandable and still had a good time and lots to see. Lovely woodland walk, good play areas for kids who were enjoying running around. Lots of hand sanitizer around and toilets were clean. Cafes were busy but there is always the option of taking a packed lunch. Plenty of places to eat it. Dog friendly but you will have to sit on the lower decks of trams. Allowed in all attractions including the ones indoors except cafes. Not sure about other shops. We spent about 4 hours here. Worth a quick visit afterwords to the tower you can see above quarry. It is the Nottingham Forresters Regiment memorial and is open most days. Great views. Not part of the tramway museum but it's only up the road. Small donation requested.

Well worth the ticket price. Interesting history. Not a full day but worthwhile. Enjoyed the woodland walk and sculptures. Great staff throughout.

For fans of tramways a must-visit, for families an interesting day trip, for the elderly people remembrances of the good old times. Don't miss the woodland walk, the exhibition hall, the tramcar depot and the souvenir shop at the crich tramway village.

An excellent museum for anyone interested in transport or trams in general. Staff are friendly and helpful, and admission price includes as many rides on the trams as you like. Well worth a visit 😊

The great thing about visiting an open air museum on a wet and gloomy afternoon is that nearly everone else has gone home leaving an opportunity for atmospheric photos and plenty of seats on the trams.

Great for a half day out due to Covid-19. Otherwise it would be a good day out, lots of trams in great nick with opportunities for photos. Bad weather for us today, but still enjoyed it.

Great for a family day out. Lots of trams to see lovingly maintained. You get rides on them as well. Great place.

Not much to do here, the tram ride lasts about 8 minutes. There are lot's of trams but half of them are in storage. Although there are trams on view, I guess about 15 - 20 the disappointing thing for me is you can't see inside or on the top deck of them. I personally think the price of Β£18 is extremely expensive for what you get. I think it should be around the Β£10 mark including the tram ride.
