👍👍 Great layouts and models liked the interactive buttons for the children but some didn't work ! Only marred by the over enthusiasm of a member of staff who wouldn't leave us alone to enjoy the visit ! Signage in the park is non existent to direct you but we found it eventually!!! I took a 3 year old inside there and he loved it. He was so interested in the displays that they had. There are a few displays that allow you to send the trains on their way.

Lovely trains model museum. Located inside the park next to the main car park. Reasonable prices for the tickets. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Place in a bit too small. But if you are interested in trains, you could spend an hour here. Lovely selection of train models. I liked the Hogwarts Express the best as I am a Harry Potter fan.

Great little hidden gem tucked away in well kept park. Reasonable admission charges. Visoted with my two children, volunteers are friendly and provided my children with a quiz to find various objects around the layouts. We stayed around 45 minutes while completing the hunts and really enjoyed ourselves!

Husband really enjoyed it here. Nice layouts. The members made us feel welcoming and very informative. Although it says "free parking" on the leaflet, we couldn't find the free car park. Didn't mind paying the small charge for the car park as has BP Pulse chargers so we was able to charge our car whilst we visited.

I found this place trough a leaflet at Derby stn.Stay in Derby for 5 days also to visit Crich tram village .It was not a long walk from my hostel along Ashbourne Rd.( a former tram route ) .Nice detailed and well functionable main layout and also the Hogwarts and Hornby layouts ! I was the first visitor at 11am and the members were very friendly and interested to me .I miss a short tramline in the city section of the layout .Old Derby trams are aviable as kits from KW models , eventualy the tram could operate automatic as pendulum line ? 😉I am an retired railway officer from Hamburg and make frequent visits to the UK .Positive also leaflets in different languages for visitors ! Well done !

Excellent organisation for model trains, but disappointed that wasn't much there, some buttons didn't work when you pressed the trains didn't move, but kids would enjoy this activity

Superb, more than a Model Railway, Derbyshire in miniature (plus Hogwarts!) and themed train sets. £3 all-day ticket a bargain

Great little place. Obviously you aren't going to need to spend a whole day here. We visited with our 2 children and we all loved it. Very large displays. Wide range of different set ups and control options. Well staffed and the gentleman we spoke to was very friendly and knowledgeable (and even gave model making advice to my son). We were only in the area for 1 day so were really glad we had the time to visit. Be aware the pin on Google maps is not on the correct building. The actual building stands alone and is about 200m south east of the pin on maps. All in all.... a great & unique little place to visit. Highly recommend.

What a fabulous model railway! The main layout of a typical Derbyshire railway scene is great, really detailed and full of local interest. The volunteers are very approachable and knowledgeable and it’s a great place to spend 30 minutes. We particularly enjoyed the 1960s Hornby Dublo layout that visitors can control.

There are about 4 layouts. And most of the trains were old steam locos. No latest model train like the HST or Pendolino. While it's an interesting 30 minute visit, it's located at such an inconvenient location to get to.

This place is small and run by volunteers. That said it feels huge. One large layout and some smaller ones all with interactive features and quizzes for children. Took almost three year old and struggled to get him out. Prices very resonable £5 for a family ticket and you can cime and go all day. Thete is also a small shop selling gifts and some model railway items.

We spent a couple of hours here, we had one of the team talk us through all the displays and show us all the different models. Really knowledgeable and friendly staff, would recommend for any train enthusiast! Was a little difficult to find in the middle of the park but the surroundings are nice for a good wander.

Hidden gem in the park. Reasonably priced. Very interactive and child friendly. Very enthusiastic volunteers. However, one in particular was abit overly conciencous which spoilt the visit slightly. Some of the buttons didn't work. My favourite was the hogwarts set up. Signage to the trains needs to be improved.

It was a small space but was filled with incredible detail. Went near to the closing time but two of the members patiently gave a tour so that nothing was missed. I bet kids would enjoy it a lot too. They're open to new members!
