Have patience for super loooong lines during weekends! This is not a suitable place for chit chats bec they have long tables only facing the kitchen. No way to talk with your friends esp if you are a big group. This place is just meant to “eat and go”. Their menu items are all expensive. Their ramen is really not mind blowing, but I would say that their gyoza is one of the best I’ve had so far.

This Mendokoro branch is, I think, one of the biggest ones. If you want have ramen ramen-bar style, then this is the perfect place! Even though they’re more known for their Tantanmen Ramen, we ordered the Shoyu Ramen and Gyoza. I enjoyed it very much! The soup was rich and the gyoza was so good. Mendokoro and Yushoken have the best ramen! Another feature I appreciated about Mendokoro is the good and strong ventilation. Even though ramen and other dishes were being cooked right in the middle, the restaurant wasn’t smokey or very smelly. The only con about this place is the long waiting time. With limited seating and a relatively small kitchen right smack in the middle of the ramen bar, we waited around 30 minutes before being seated and 1 hour before getting our food. Mind you, this was on a weekday. Still though, I give this place 5 stars.

This is a 3.5 rating. We had a new experience. Ramen is too rich not as balanced for our liking. The vlogs and research we did, did not live up to the hype. The line was long because we came before 11am. There were 2 lines, one before paying and another after paying. Almost 45 minutes and around 10 more minutes of waiting for the food to be served. It was all good because we expected a lot from the Ramen. The place has a nice interior something different from the usual ramen place. It's also nice to see the process of making ramen in front of you with a nice clean kitchen and how confident they are on sanitation. Just like a Japanese Ramen resto. I tell you the Gyoza alone deserve 5 stars of its own! So definitely order one. We ordered their best sellers shoyu and tantanmen. For the ramen it was a surprise attack to one's senses. The first taste of the broth really packs a punch, and the noodles were thick and good. The meat was heavenly as it a melt in your mouth chashu. The only problem we had hence the minus 2 stars were the final leg of the meal when you realize just how rich the soup was and you can no longer finish the ramen because it's really cloying (umay). For those who want to try it's still a good experience overall but try to find a way to soften the cloying factor by bringing something sweet or asking for hot water dilution of the soup. Great gyoza, It was a nice clean place, good experience, ramen was above average but not living up to the hype it has online and for that price and long line hence a 3.5 A suggestion would be to serve something like Korean Sikhye or sweet tea that will help with cloying Or just offer customers a choice for how rich and thick the soup should be.

Rich creamy, well seasoned broth with slightly firm noodles, perfectly cooked chashu and tamago... if these are what you're looking for in a ramen then this is the place for you. Come early if you don't like waiting in line. The place is usually packed

🍜 Ramen - was very creamy and flavorful, as expected. But I would say that their ramen is better than their branch in Makati. 🙊 Condiments and utensils were all provided in front of you. 🥟 Gyoza - was cooked just right, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. ❤️ 🥩 Chasu - have to order extra since the meat was really good and tender, it almost melts in your mouth. ✨ 🍜 Service/Staff - our orders were served at a reasonable time. Staffs were all busy but made sure that our orders were all served on time. 🍜 Place - there is a usual wait here, thankfully, we were one of the first in line before dinner time. Place is a bit narrow, which somehow the resembles with the usual ramen shop we tried in Japan. It's good that you can see the food being cooked in front. 🍜 Parking - they don't have parking 🅿️ in front of the store.

Expect long lines during dinner on a weekend. The gyoza was amazing but if you’re not a fan of thick creamy broth you may want to rethink about getting your first ramen here. It’s tasty but for me it’s too creamy, I refilled my glass of water many times. The place is not too big and only limited number of people can get inside.

Super rich and flavorful broth. If you are a person who loves thick, rich soup, this is the place! I find it too rich till I could not finish the entire bowl of noodles. I could also feel my triglyceride rising. We ordered the Shio, Shoyu and miso. Miso is the richest. The broth is too thick to our liking. If you like strong flavor, go for the miso. However, if this is your first time trying, I would suggest you go for the Shio. The gyoza was disappointing. It has too much tendons in the filling. We ordered the Tsukemen Tokusei too. It comes with a small bowl of hot soup and the noodles was placed separately. You dip the noodles into the soup before eating. Again, the soup was very thick and concentrated, and we could not finish the ramen.

I really enjoyed the food. The ramen is legit. The gyoza is delicious as well. I would suggest a seat outside for those waiting in line but it is probably prohibited by the building admin.

One of the better options if you are in for a quality Ramen feast. Located in the heart of BGC, Mendokoro is a heaven. I loved how organized their queue system here and they are really observing limited dining capacitied and follows the safety protocols of dining. I feel so safe here. Crew are so helpful and warm. I loved the concept of open kitchen here. I order Shoyu Ramen and Gyoza and I loved it. Shoyu Ramen's broth was just right and I love the burst of flavord and the noodles. Their gyoza is also good. Overall, I would love to come back here soon.

Used to frequent Ramen Yushoken (highly recommend!) in Cebu City, and when we moved here we didn't realize right away that this was with the same people! Been comparing with other ramen restos in Manila/Cebu City and nothing comes close to Yushoken/Mendokoro Ramenba. So happy because I still have access to the best ramen (I always order shoyu ramen - basic but so good) and can confirm quality is the same if not better (gyoza crispiness is *chef's kiss*) at this branch. Also didn't experience having to wait because we were there earlier at 10:30 (Friday morning) . A line of 10 people started forming when we left a little past 11am. Definitely still the best ramen, aji tamago, and gyoza I've had. Very rich, and chashu fat melting in your mouth goodness. Best for solo meals/couple dates - I imagine larger groups will have to wait longer since seating is just at the kitchen bar, no tables.

Will only be here at PHI for a couple of weeks so I knew I really have to try Mendokoro Ramenba! First of, I honestly love their interior! It was spacious and clean. When we went there, our waiting time was just around 15mins? Not bad tbh. Given that it was a holiday and peak lunch time. We tried their Shoyu Ramen, Tantanmen Ramen, Tokusei Tsukemen, and their Chicken Karaage. I honestly like their Tantanmen Ramen more tho! It was mildy spicy but the creaminess of the broth sort of cancels it out. Definitely a must try when you're in the area!

Definitely would have this on at least a per monthly basis! Miso ramen was divine! Gyoza were just right, complementary to the Ramen.

One of the best ramen restaurants in Manila. Also has the best gyoza too. Expect to wait an hour before you get in though, the lines here are always long

Tried eating here on a Sunday afternoon. Seats were all occupied, but the waiting time was shorter compared to the reviews I've read before. Very tidy and everything was within our reach, from condiments to cold water (believe me, u are gonna need this bec the broth is so creamy and kinda sticky so u need to gulp some water down as you eat 😀) We all tried their bestsellers: Shio, Shoyu and Tantanmen. I honestly loved Shio the most! Tho I can't really tell the difference between Shio and Shoyu. Basta weakness ko ang smoky flavor kaya 5 🌟 dito. I do recommend for u to order side dishes kasi medyo may umay factor kapag puro broth lang. I actually think the broth would also pair well with rice plus chashu 🤤

Food was great! I can see why a lot of ramen enthusiasts hype up this place because of its delicious taste and tons of flavors 💯 It was a great experience overall, we had dinner here on a Tuesday night so there were no long queues. Oh, and be informed that you're not allowed to bring some leftover food for take out, especially if it's one of their noodle dishes.

We dined here for dinner at around 6PM. Seated after a few minutes then there’s already a long line when we finished eating. We ordered the miso and tantanmen. The broth of both ramens taste quite similar and it’s extremely thick and heavy. I didn’t get to taste the miso flavor I am expecting. The gyoza is good but the soy sauce is just plain soy sauce. I like mine with a bit sour and sweet taste. The tamago and pieces of chashu in the miso ramen are good, though. I already tried Mendokoro before it was transferred to Mitsukoshi and also Yushoken in the South and it still won’t get on top of the list of my favorite ramen places. But service is always good in Mendokoro.

Review update: Me and my husband visited the Philippines for a short trip and my husband wanted to eat ramen. I told him to try mendokoro because I've tried it before and maybe he'll like it better because he loves ramen than I do. My husband and his brother both got tantanmen. While I asked the staff if there is a lighter and less salty broth and she suggested shio ramen, so that's what my sister in law and I ordered. We also ordered chicken karaage and 3 sets of gyoza. We enjoyed the juicy karaage and gyoza is still delicious, my new favorite! Only comment regarding the tantanmen, it's a bit heavy and salty so they will try shio next time..(comment from a ramen lover).. Shio is less salty and less heavy compared to tantanmen. I liked it better. If you want a broth that is not too heavy or salty, I suggest the shio ramen. Also the chashu is way better this time. It's less sweet and less salty. December 2022 review: Broth is too heavy, salty and the chashu is very very sweet! I did not expect a very sweet chashu. Wasn't able to finish the tiny bowl of ramen. But I like the Gyoza, tho. That's all.

The Miso tonkotsu ramen was rich and delicious but extremely heavy😂 the pork was so good!!! There were bits of meat and veggies in the broth. The Shoyu has a lighter garlic broth. My husband loved it too. Just order what you prefer- light or heavy? If you don’t eat much, I recommend splitting the ramen with someone else :) The gyoza was a surprise. It’s my favorite gyoza in manila and its bigger than the others served in japanese restaurants. We a also ordered kombucha (good for 2) and soda. Both were perfect with the ramen. I recommend you go at 11:00, before the world starts to arrive😂 service is fast and efficient :)

I expected the queue and was willing to wait - 30mins in line, another 30mins for the food once seated. The staff was nice, attentive and organized. The food though was not worth the wait.. I went with 2 other people and we all ordered different ramen type (shio, shoyu and mismo) and all were bland. The only dish we liked was the gyoza.. the kaarage was too oily. We were all hungry but the food was not worth the price and not worth the wait. We like the other ramen shops better.

Rich broth, perfect noodles, and a commitment to authenticity. Take outs are not allowed. The cozy ambiance and friendly service made our dining experience truly enjoyable. A must-visit for ramen enthusiasts! Special kudos for crafting a personalized seafood ramen for our dad, showcasing their flexibility and commitment to customer satisfaction. Highly recommended!

We visited on a tuesday afternoon and we weren't expecting too many people in queue on a non busy day. Their service was okay and they informed us that our food would arrive in approximately 20-30 minutes due to a busy queue. Despite slightly tight seating, it remained comfortable. Choosing the shio ramen and gyoza, we were pleased to find the gyoza larger than those at most Japanese restaurants. The ramen was exceptionally creamy and had a bold flavor, perhaps a bit too intense for my taste, but the umami was undeniable in each sip. While the meat was a bit salty, it was still satisfying. The noodles, thicker than those in typical Japanese ramen spots. Overall, it was a positive dining experience.

My experience in Mendojoro ramen house was excellent. The ambiance of the place was very aesthetic and cozy. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, ensuring we were comfortable. Coming to the food, the ramen was simply delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The toppings were also fresh and added to the dish's overall taste. I also tried their gyoza, and it was equally delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and I felt satisfied after my meal. Overall, I highly recommend this ramen house to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. It's definitely worth a visit!

I will not recommend ordering their Super Chashu Ramen. Super alat omg. it looks undeniably delicious but i was disappointed when i got to taste it. i actually tried their ramen once a few years back and remembered it to be a little salty for my liking. This Super Chashu is next level salty ☹️ The chashu is too flavorful. The broth is downright salty as well. Good thing I shared it with my brother. There's no way I can finish it myself. I also read some reviews that they dont allow their customers to take-out their left-overs. The gyoza saved the day though. We really loved th gyoza.

Very rich broth, strong umami! Would even say too rich because I wasn’t able to finish. But still very nice and all the flavors are worth the price. Their karaage is good as well. I recommend their gyoza! Long queue but it’s expected because we came around dinner time.

Someone recommended an authentic ramen place @Mitsukoshi-BGC for an early lite dineout with ❤️ ones-Mendokoro. We were told that takeouts are not allowed as the ramen wont be as good! Luckily arrived just b4 a crowd of youthful afficionados crowded the ramen bar. Great timing too heaven's floodgate opened setting us up for warming bowl of noodles. Ordered gyoza, karaage, tantanmen ramen and vegan ramen. Service was quick and food delivered in a jiffy. Miso delivered the expected satisfaction and quite hearty. The vegan ramen was underwhelming and was akin to a savory milk broth with noodles. The sides were 👍. Entire meal cost was reasonable. Only downside but easily correctible issue is the HVAC on full blast-perhaps part of the experience? Tip-If parking in Mitsukoshi, resto is located outside of the dept store.

I dunno if my tastes have changed, but the Ebi Tonkotsu dish I've tried today tasted differently than before. Before, it tasted more complex and tantalizing to my taste buds, as if the more you slurp the broth, the deeper the flavor goes and there is magic in every bite. On the contrary, today's dish lacked the complexity and magic I've experienced before. The noodles were also tougher than what I've usually eaten. Considering other factors, like around 1 hour waiting time accompanied by a 10% service charge, overall it was rather unsatisfactory.

Super chasu is a good meal if it is your first time or you're very hungry. It has pork meat that can make you full. If you come during lunch, you may have to wait at least 10-25 mins before being seated. After being seated, it takes around 10-15 minutes before food is served since it is then they start preparing your order.

  • 5/5 Norman A. 1 year ago on Google
By word of mouth, people say that their ramen is really good. Had to try it out myself. Wifey and I ordered Shio and Shoyu ramen. Both were delicious indeed! The broth was creamy and very tasty. The tamago (egg) was cooked just right. Chasu (pork) is succulent. Noodles are firm and not soggy like other ramen restos I know. I added chili flakes in my ramen for that added kick. Line and waiting time was tolerable but it would be best to go during off peak hours if you do not want to wait that long. And if you are there during peak hours, it would be best to finish up as quickly as possible to be considerate of others waiting for their turn to eat. Btw, their gyoza also tastes great. Highly recommended for ramen lovers!

  • 5/5 Leen M. 11 months ago on Google
Service is a bit slow, by typical ramen restos standard in Japan where you get served your food within 5mins. Set up is similar what you see in Japan but they are not as fast, wait time is at least 20mins, once sitted. But the wait is worth it though. I just hope there's more broth on their ramen.

  • 5/5 Lawrence V. 1 year ago on Google
Best Ramen we ever had. Superb soup base. Noodles kinda thick. Large chunk of chasu and highly recommended the seafood ramen. Both of secret menu. Their gyoza is the winner here. Juicy, tasty and large portion of each pieces. A definite must order. Overall its worth the hype. Ramen is made fresh so expect some waiting time. Money wise a bit pricey but worth the ramen your expecting for. Will definitely comeback when cravings go in. 🍜🍜👌🙌

The restaurant is much spacier than other branches, with more waiting space inside and outside. Food and service are still consistently superb. Things I hope they could address: organize the queue to the counter so that people exiting don’t have to squeeze between the people in line; infographics/instructions for first timers as I witnessed a lot of confused people; basket/bag hook underneath

Arrived just before dinner rush so we were seated immediately. Food came out around 15mins. Hot and creamy. Bondat ka agad! Serves beer and cola. 1 Comfort Room - with bidet and tissue No parking near.

The Ramen was very tasty. The noodles were very good. It was a wait to get in and I ate my noodles with gusto but sweating SO BAD. Do they do this on purpose that the airconditioner is like that so you wont get too comfortable eating, as the wait is long? You immediately get off your seat to leave once done as it was uncomfortably warm inside.
