Interesting museum about the history of the Warsaw Rising. The museum explores the background and the future of the city and the rebellion. If one is not a huge history fan, the museum might get a bit boring after a few exhibits. We visited on Sunday, and the queue lasted around an hour.

I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Warsaw Uprising Museum. The attention to detail in the interior design is remarkable, truly capturing the essence of the era. I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information provided. I could spent an entire day engrossed in the exhibits, absorbing the stories and events that shaped the city's history. Even though my visit was relatively short, I left with a profound sense of connection to the past. I'd strongly recommend allocating a good 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the experience. It's not just a museum visit – it's an journey that allows you to immerse yourself in the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs of the people during that pivotal time. The Warsaw Uprising Museum is an absolute must-visit, and I'm already planning to return. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about the past, this museum offers an exceptional opportunity to explore and learn. Don't miss out on this enriching and moving experience.

A great memorial dedicated to the human spirit of fighting against all odds. Very moving, detailed and systematic display of everything related to the uprising. The two movies are well made. Really liked the story telling divided over 4 floors. Good place for adults and kids. It's a traffic style of brave people like us who fought for something they believed and lost but told in a very engrossing way. It's quite crowded. Even on a weekday afternoon in August.

Unfortunately a great museum. Lot of interactive parts, with a well explained visit path, and the possibility to rent an audio guide for a more complete experience. Plan at least a few hours to completely experience the whole experience, as they also screen some movies and have a temporary exhibition on top of the standard museum that in itself is worth visiting when in town.

An amazing museum. Loved the way it was done as if you are walking around cobbled streets of Warsaw. Exhibits were nicely presented and cleverly done in places. A good mix of photos, text, audio, video and bothboriginal and replica artifacts. Was busy when I visited with large school groups which made my visit a bit harder but hey kids need to learn! Adult entrance was 25PLN. Museum opened at 10am and is closed on a Tuesday.

A nice museum with a lot of material to see. 30 minutes might be just enough if you are quick, but for some people even several hours might not bee too much. Depends how precisely you want to read through all the texts and such.

Great experience. Interesting museum, very informative and everything has an English translation. You need a few hours to fully enjoy all of the museum. There's really big lockers for bags in the yard opposite the entrance. You need 5PLN coin to operate the lockers. I used a 50 euro cent coin which worked perfectly. Free to visit on Mondays. I Highly recommend a visit

I visited here on a Monday. The signs are not clear on entry, as to where to get your tickets from🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Being English, the ticket sign was written in Polish! In areas there was English written alongside Polish signs. I had to get directions to find the ticket area. Oh its written as 'Kasa' a little building set on its own at the end of the courtyard👍 After all that, getting into the ticket office, I was surprised to find out it was free on a Monday! Result😀 so as I left the ticket office, I donated money into this huge glass collection box, outside. There was no queue today, about 1.30pm. There was no English tour guide available, so had to wander around and check out all the displays and read up on them. It is another amazing part of Polish history! Solely based about The Warsaw Uprising. There are so many areas based in here, all with written information or recorded vocal and filmed footage. The struggles of the Polish people is truly upsetting, then the admiration and bravery of their Polish ancestors, fighting, sometimes an impossible fight. The stories of support from other nations is commendable! There is information here of the atrocities they went through, but the strength Polish men, women and children, even their Goats, supporting them with well need milk supplies😱 The stories of how they coped in the underground, then to try to fight against the strength of the Germans. Living and moving through the drainage system, only to surface for well needed supplies! The cinema room shows photography from an aircraft circling Warsaw after all the bombing! Truly upsetting😢 but admiration to all of the Polish people that tried to fight back! Was nice to see the footage of Germans being captured and taken prisoner's after the war, some karma coming back to them, although the Polish were not barbaric like the Germans were. You have to take several hours to take all the information in here at the Warsaw uprising museum. I highly recommend coming here, just to learn what people have had to suffer and not to let it happen again. Knowledge is power👍 I will have to go to the Tomb of the unknown Soldier again now, to pay my silent respects to all❤️

I came here on a Monday and it was free admission. I really enjoyed the well curated exhibit that walked me through the history and impact of the uprising. I recommend getting the audio guide that allows you to hear the extra commentary about the various exhibits. This museum is actually very impressive if you like world war II history or you want to have a better understanding of Polish people and their willingness to fight against evil during world war II. Highly recommend.

Highly informative museum. Make sure you get the museum plan, since it is quite difficult to understand which direction to follow inside the exhibition, and be prepared emotionally. It is quite a heartbreaking story of hate, war, massacres, and the fight for liberation. I highly recommend it to understand the history of Poland, as well as its national rhetoric.

This Museum is well organised, very interesting, well laid out, and has a lot to see. I was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed every moment inside. It is so well worth the entrance fee. It's a must when you are in Warsaw. We bought Metro tickets for the day for 3 pounds I think and moved all over town on the tram. Loved it. Warsaw Poland is definitely so European. I can't wait to come back again. There is too much to see for a long weekend. I also found Warsaw to be affordable when travelling on the Pound. I honestly never thought of Poland as a travel destination for myself, and now, I am excited to return some day. I loved my experience here. I felt safe, and there is order. Come and visit Poland. You're welcome.

Nice museum that you have to visit. Very interesting items of everyday life and fighting during the Rising. Don't miss it. Be careful not to miss any rooms. There is a room under the cinema screen that is not easy to spot. On Mondays you can visit it free of charge.

I wanted to learn more about the history of the city of Warsaw, and I did. The museum has a lot of information and anecdotes from this dark period of history. However, with the French audio guide, at the different numbers of the museum's progress, the specific points where I had to concentrate did not seem very clear to me. All in all I recommend it.

This museum was an in-depth dive into Poland and its uprising during the war! I think it’s a crucial piece of history with details into specifics suffered in Poland and the incredible bravery mustered up by the people who refused to settle into the horrific position they were put in. It discusses the ghettos which was very interesting and something I personally didn’t know too much about The museum layout was a little messy and the 3D fly through was a very interesting experience but was about a 40 minute wait for about a 7 minute film - wouldn’t recommend this Otherwise the museum was a great one to visit and learn about Polands history! ✨

This is a really awesome museum if you are interested in WWII, polish history, and military history. It is a pretty large place and took us a while to see everything. There are a lot of guns and artifacts from WWII, as well as a lot of personal items like letters and journals. Speaking polish would be nice, but there was plenty in English also, so I felt like I got a lot out of it still. Highly recommended!

Great museum!! It was SUPER crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I'd go earlier next time, for sure. The 3D rendering of Warsaw Street the uprising is definitely worth waiting to see. Lots of informative information and I'd say a must-see when visiting Warsaw.

The Warsaw Rising Museum hosts interesting meetings for school and university students, as well as for anyone interested in the history of the Second World War and of Warsaw. The meetings are organized as part of the activities of the Stefan Starzyński Institute and the Department of Exhibition. Until present the Museum has hosted e.g. History Lectures conducted by Warsaw Rising Museum guides, as well as film screenings accompanied with discussions on Warsaw in the history of cinema entitled „Meet Warsaw Through Film”.

Extremely cool museum, different experience for the visitor as it walks you around different points of views of the history of Warsaw and the Uprising. Allow for at least 3 hours in there if you are fast, or half a day or more if you really want to explore all the exhibits. Very easy to get there using the tram, and the day I went, admission was free so there was a line. Plan to arrive early. Across the garden and the wooden bridge there is a cool cafe to have seat and relax after your visit. I cannot say enough of how impressed I was by this museum and how well built and thoughtful it is. EXTREMELY recommended during any visit to Warsaw.

It was an awesome experience, well worth the price of admission. Everything is listed in at least Polish and English. There are immersing sounds from the heartbeat of those who fought, machine gun fire, explosions, bombers, etc to name a few. It leads chronologically from when the Nazis first reach Warsaw, up to the Soviet Union occupation. You will crawl through the sewers, see a full size B-24 Liberator that dropped relief and supplies to the Polish survivors and resistance fighters. The short movies are definitely worth watching especially the 6 min video near the B-24 that shows the scope of destruction. It is a somber experience.

What an amazing Museum. The story of those who came before us preserved over time lest we forget what the cost of freedom really means. If your in the city as a tourist this is a must see attraction and more importantly a history lesson for the world that we cannot remain silent when faced with evil.

Very intense !! One can actually picture the war time sufferings and atrocities. All historical war time items were very neatly preserved. Short motion pictures and photos tell us about fighting spirit of polish people and how they have rebuilt their country from nothing to everything!!

This is one of the must-see museums when you are in Warsaw. It is enormous, very thoughtfully designed with English translations in every exhibit. I'm still baffled by how many personal effects and stories were contributed to make this museum. You won't regret it.

Visiting Warsaw? This museum MUST be on your visit list. Allow at least 2 hours and seriously consider renting a guide to take you round (we did). There is so much here that I did not know. It's not that uplifting, but it is very factual and balanced.

This museum is great. The audio guide is worth the extra money to keep you moving along. It was a bit confusing in the beginning because you get the a guide from the shop on the left when you enter. The museum itself does a wonderful job telling the story of the Home Army and the events that happens during German occupation in Warsaw.

Another must-see attraction during your visit to Warsaw. This is a great museum with lots of information from interactive and varied exhibits. The museum can be walked with an audio guide, but I recommend that you study the map carefully! The tour is very poorly sign-posted, and the flow of the museum isn't logical or easy to follow! I am fairly sure that I missed a few items and got a little lost at times. Nonetheless, it was an interesting visit and some excellent historical items to look at and learn about. I recommend you visit!

A must see for any WWII fanatics. I was deeply touched by what I have learned after visiting this place. I would recommend to take a guide to get the most of your visit and not waste time searching for next part of the museum. At the beginning numbers are easy to find (you have to follow them to get the most of your experience), but I felt like I was in the maze looking for them at later stages. Overall all great time in here but it could be better with improved markings.

Great place to learn the history related to WW2, very emotional but educational. I was waiting there for 25min for a ticket and another 20min to get an audio guide. They could do better, The Royal place museum was well organized so I think they can improve a little bit after looking at the Royal palace. The afternoon was less crowded and at least you need 2-3 hours to complete everything.

Very interesting museum. Lots of history of the uprising of Warsaw. They have a wide array of exhibitions and artifacts to look at. Can spend a few hours here if you are interested in the topic. Museum is of course good. But museum map is not well organised. And audiobook which they are giving, needs to updated according to the map. It’s really hard to follow the map which there are giving as well as audiobook. Strongly suggesting not to rent audiobook. Better to read instead.

A very well designed museum, where the displays are almost as interesting as the items and information they contain. There was a large crowd of tour busses when I came here on Sunday (when there is free admission), and the line to get into the museum was nearly an hour long. I came back on Monday and paid the admission fee and it was well worth it.

In 2014, the museum was visited by a record number of building a museum dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising, it appeared in 1956, right after Stalin's death and the political thaw, but until 1981 no steps were taken to organize any museum. At that time, the Social Committee for the Construction of the Warsaw Uprising Museum was established, but its activities were prevented by the introduction of martial law in December 1981. (Translated by Google) It is a place that every Varsovian should visit - but of course not only, because it is one of the most interesting museums I have been to. Already at the entrance, the wall beating to the rhythm of the heart is impressive, as well as the sounds of insurgent songs and, at the same time, gun shots. You can go ahead with children, all materials that their eyes should not see are in places inaccessible to them. The whole day is not enough to see all the exhibitions. You have to go there at least several times. I really recommend it!

Very interesting museum but it focusses in a very narrow time, just the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 by the Home Army. The uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto isn’t even mentioned. While mainly neutral at some points the Polish insurgents are disproportionately glorified. The structure is often very confusing and you don’t exactly know where to go next (see image). At least almost everything is translated into English so you get a ton of information without speaking polish unlike some other Museums in Warsaw

Amazing museum and a must visit to better understand the history of the Warsaw uprising! I really love the content and the exhibition. But, I was disappointed in how it was all organized. When walking through while listening to the audio tour was not well organized and confusing being belief. Half way through the museum I wanted a coffee at the cafe conveniently located midway but staff was absent so I went onto the next exhibition. I hope the museum will improve in the future and make it more enjoyable for the visitor to experience the unique experiences of people living in this city's darkest and most inspirational period of history.

I really liked it! You can learn a lot about the Warsaw uprising, look into the destroyed city in the spring of 1945 by watching a movie. A very emotional place, a lot of facts, a lot of exhibits from those times. For yourself, you can collect a separate calendar for each day of these events, in which everything is painted in detail.

Nice place to get a view of what happened in WW2 in the city of Warszawa. Stunning to see how the city and subsequently the country was thrown for the lions( in this case left in the hands of the Russians) by the English. And how the entire city was levelled and many people killed while all of this could have been prevented with a little bit of political courage.

Among the artifacts are weapons used by the insurgency and letters exchanged by those involved.

If you're interested about what happened during World War II in Poland this is a good place to visit. Most of it consists of pictures, pieces of rubbish and a plane that give testimony of the destruction of Warsaw. You will also find some weapons, utensils, uniforms and the like from that time. Place was a bit too crowded for my taste but the price is very affordable. You will certainly leave with a good grasp of what happen in Poland during those terrible years. Very recommended.

Very deep and extremely well presented. It took us like 3 hours to enjoy the whole museum, reading almost everything. There is a lot of information and visual resources, probably too much in some cases. Perhaps a more chronological approach would be more helpful to grasp better the details. I am very thankful that almost everything is translated to English, except for the letters or the propaganda. All the staff we interacted with were very nice and helpful. If you're into history I totally recommend it.

A must visit museum to see if in area. I used audio to hear in English and was told to press number by display. I found no number on displays so had to try and use map to figure out-- confusing. Displays are very telling of the heart ache that Poland went through from the horrible hatred and desire for world power by Hitler. The videos are good along with handouts found through out museum.

Great museum to understand contemporary polish identity and learn about the Warsaw Uprising. The >>audio guides<< are highly recommended! Without them, we would not have recognized the path of the exhibition. If you use the guides, it's a good idea to >>bring your own headphones<<, so you don't need to hold the device for the whole time your listening. Due to covid, the number of people allowed in is limited. Better be there, right when the museum opens. Otherwise, waiting time might be up to ~45 minutes.

I got really emotional while visiting that museum. There are no words to describe it. Each visitor of Warsaw should definitely spend some time there. Taking under consideration what is going on in Ukraine right now, it's even more important to go there. It's like facing the naked truth about every war. Great atmosphere. Great audiovisual equipment. Really amazing. I totally loved it.

A must see! If you're in Warsaw and you don't visit this museum it's a tragedy! A brilliant place with so much information and very well laid out. I recommend allocating at least half a day (a full day ideally) to really see and read everything. The 3D cinema is breathtaking. A moving and detailed museum which I'll definitely visit again the next time I'm there 😀🙏

The Warsaw Rising Museum gives an interesting historical insight into the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. The suffering, hope and struggle are well conveyed even though some information is exclusively Polish and not in English. When we were there it was quite crowded and we had to wait for about half an hour even though we already bought tickets online. The problem is the entrance part of the museum is very narrow so you kinda get stuck there in the crowd. Still, worth a visit

The exhibition is interesting and well executed, a lot of historical pieces and stories about the polish people during WWII. I do think that the part of jews in the resistance against the Nazis during WWII should be told, as it was one of the greatest rebellions against the germans during the war. More over, it is hard to look at the polish people as complete victims knowing that a lot of polish people cooperated with the germans in the mass murder of jews during the war.
