Close to the city (45 minute Uber trip). The views of the volcano and the city are beautiful, but walking down the path into the volcano is even better.

TRAIL TO THE BOTTOM So. We did it twice. This is a scramble, do not attempt when wet. The trail starts near the cafe with the bridge. Go under there. It is very steep and you'll be shimmy down and across places with exposure. Hands absolutely required. It will take 2-3 hours. There is a piece that requires climbing down a tree. It is possible to get lost so pay attention - look back to remember what it looks like. There's no water down there. I saw only birds, no angry bugs. If you end up in thorns you're off trail. We saw just three people the first day (Sunday) and none the second. Don't ask it's illegal. No cell service below the rim. There's some garbage to help you find your way, but bring ribbon to tie to help mark your way back. Leave the crater if the sun drops below the edge. Good luck...

If and only if you're into nature I definitely recommend visiting. We went since my parent's wanted to visit and the view is pretty. My parents love nature and they were in awe. I, on the other hand - cannot stand nature. You have to walk up a bunch (what feels like 200 stairs) up the mountain to get to the volcano crate. I would recommend buying water from one the sellers before you pay to go up. You'll definitely need it. At the entrance to pay to go see the crate, there are a lot of local sellers with great deals...definitely recommend to check them out.

What a beautiful park. The trails were mostly stairs. It was a nice walk and I would recommend to wear comfortable running shoes. There some steps that are higher than others, so be careful. The view of the volcano was spectacular. The fact that it's active gives it a new sense of perspective. I love this area and further down the entrance they have vendors selling souvenirs. Overall a beautiful place to explore with family and friends.

Really beautiful place with excellent view, people should come here to spend some time and enjoy fresh weather and calm feeling out of city. I will definitely come back one day again and have some pupusas on my route over here. Muy chivo aqui.

This is another a must go place to visit when in El Salvador πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡» is right in the city. Beautiful place a great walk. If not foggy you get to see the crater. We weren’t that lucky to see all the way on the volcano. But got to see in the evening after a coffee all San Salvador city lights is beautiful.

A much shorter hike (like 10 minutes) than Santa Ana (like an hour), not quite as breath taking, but still crazy beautiful. Plus lots of great places to get yummy coffee and quesadillas (which here is a sweet cornbread like dessert).

Nice views and vegetation. Stairs were built unevenly and hard to climb. Parts of the stairs had no support railing on their sides.

Super friendly staff, private and public security, you will find restaurants and lots of little shops selling handmade art craft. Super affordable. It's definitely a must.

The park is currently closed! Unfortunately there was no information provided online. Inform yourself before you come here. However, you can use the side entrance 30 meters on the left before the main entrance. Guides/locals will bring you in for about 3-5$ and you can enjoy 2 viewing points.
