We have been several times in this hotel. We really enjoyed. Chic location. impressive view from the windows, especially in the morning during the fog. Cozy lobby overlooking the jungle. Very polite manager Katya. We liked everything very much. We will definitely go back there again!!!

We wavered on booking a stay here because some of the reviews were pretty off-putting, but I was overall quite happy with the stay. The check-in process is indeed annoying. They refuse to let anyone check in before 3pm so there was a big line of people waiting and it moved very slow. The person who checked us in was not terribly friendly, but all the other staff we dealt with during our two night stay were great. The facilities are fine, but are in fact a little drab. I don't mind a bit of peeling paint here and there or scuffs on the walls, but if that kind of thing bothers you be aware. They actually provide an ice machine on each floor, which was nice given that we hadn't seen that at any other place we'd stayed on our Central and South American vacation. The room was clean and everything worked, which is what is important to me. You get what you pay for and I think this place is a good value. I'm sure they will do a remodel of it at some point, but then the prices will go way up. When we arrived there was a large party happening outside, but it was over by evening and everything calmed down. The complimentary tour of the sloth "rescue", butterfly enclosure, and frog thing was a little sad. Only two types of butterflies that I could spot, a handful of tiny frogs, and there is just one sloth there. I was a bit depressed about his situation until I read that sloths are solitary creatures and apparently this one had his claws removed by some bad person before he was rescued so he cannot live in the wild. We hiked on the little trail they provide and saw some other wild animals (they also provide a guided tour of this, but we chose to just do it on our own). Highly recommend going up the road a couple of miles to the Canopy Tower. We had an Uber drop us off at the bottom. There is a paved road up to a US military installment of some sort. You can walk that road through the rainforest and we saw a bunch of cool animals on that walk, including a family of monkeys. The big surprise of the hotel was actually the food. I was prepared for it to be lackluster, but they really did a great job. The breakfast buffet both mornings had a nice variety of good food, and it seems like they cater a bit more to locals so there were some interesting options in addition to the basic eggs and bacon type stuff. We also ordered both lunch and a dinner from the restaurant and both were excellent.

Terrible customer service. Completely misleading advertising at Booking. With “all-inclusive” that solely includes breakfast. Not willing to resolve the situation. They purposely mislead customers. Big complaint to this resort. Find something else. Furthermore - the breakfast is absoletely terrible - with plastic cutlery - really?

Awful experience! The hotel is globally very noisy! The bar has loud music and the service is really slow. We stayed for two nights, and there were events all the time, with three weddings happening on the same day, on a saturday, without previous notice. There was disco party with loud music all night long, one by the pool and others inside the building, causing unbearable noise and vibrations, preventing from sleep. Unnaceptable. The pool was dirty and there were just 6 sunbeds on the swimming area. The tours external to the hotel are offered but not organized and expensive. The pros are the beautiful surrounding landscape and the tour inside the hotel area showing plants, butterflies and a sloth in rehabilitation. The bellman was the most sympathetic.

Unless you are paying for all-inclusive this hotel offers a lot of value for your money. The tours and attractions this place offers are very enjoyable, the tour guides are very friendly and forward coming. The staff at reception was also very kind. Food is great for the price, the only downside of the restaurant is the staff. They speak little to no English and are kind of slow. They also seemed bothered every time they came to us after a long time of waiting, despite the place being mostly empty. Rooms are very dated, you can see a lot of wear and tear some parts are not very appealing. Shower door cracks and does not fully close, there is some mold and greasiness on the walls or some appliances. The door to the balcony was very hard to open. AC is very loud and extremely cold even when you set it on higher temperature, we figured the best way to keep the room cool is to let it run when we were out and then turn it off. Room then stayed in a nice temperature for a long period of time. Other than these imperfections we enjoyed the stay a lot. Our room was on a high floor as we asked for it and the view was breathtaking. We took the golf course tour on the golf carts and the sloth+butterfly+frog tour and we went for a hike to the Camino de plantación, definitely recommend all of these as they were truly great experiences. Special thanks to the driver that took us to the hike and the lady doing the sloth tour, they were awesome!

My husband and I stayed here two years ago and are going back this year. Talk about a hidden gem. Stay in the presidential suite. It's the size of two hotel rooms and the views are incredible. The hikes through the jungle were great and the wildlife is like no other place. We love this place. Don;t forget to do the monkey tour. Worth every penny.

Thoroughly enjoy my stay at this resort. Being on an extended stay in Panama pre pandemic, this was an ideal option to enjoy a hotel away from the city. At the time I would say the rooms were comfortable and adequate for the price. Great access to the trails in the area, and plenty of wildlife to experience.

Very nice modern hotel where we stayed only one night during our road trip around Panama. Hotel offers free eco-tour with guide, which is great opportunity to get to know more about panamanian nature and animals. Guide was great, very friendly and showed us sloths, frogs, butterflies, many different trees. This education about nature is very important and I'm happy to see how it is done here. On the other hand, during breakfast there were plastic cups for juice and coffee together with ceramic ones. I really dont get why to use plastic cups - I know, it is easy for cleaning, but it's not sustainable and good for nature! If you are trying to educate people about nature, you should also try to teach them how to avoid unnecessary waste from plastics. Try to think about it, you can make a difference.

Amazing hotel, with such an incredible value! We only stayed for one night, and wish we had stayed longer to fully take advantage of all the hotel had to offer. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with so much variety - breads, cakes, hot foods, fruits! The best perk of all was they had free tours for guests of the hotel at their sloth rehabilitation center and a two hour guided trek through the jungle. We did both and were so happy with it! Our guide Sergio was very knowledgeable and kind. We definitely recommend this hotel.

I stay here with 3 other gentlemen in the context of a birdwatching visit to Panama. Though the birdwatching on the premises is ok, this place is conveniently located to many other better spots very nearby. I is a good base to visits birding sites along the canal. The room was more than adequate and food was excellent. I will use the place in the future.

This hotel is horribly misrepresented through the photos and descriptions. The hotel was surrounded by beautiful jungle and scenery, yet this is a hotel were you get exactly what you paid for. At $80 a night, it was expected to have some flaws; however, our room was dirty, broken (the fire alarm, lights, etc.) and hadn't appeared to be well maintained. The only part of this hotel that is worth while are the tours around the property and of the butterfly house. Beyond that, it is packed to the brim with loud families, parties and animals running everywhere. While beautiful location it has clearly lost its standards and is not worth wasting a day testing it out to confirm this review. I am not joking when I say we spent 20 hours there, got up and left.

Not what you would expect from a Radisson hotel. The room was freezing and nothing you could do about adjusting the temperature to start with. There was a small refrigerator shoved up in front of the mirror since there was no set place for it. The bathroom faucet was loose and coming out of its socket and the shower was not strong and very slow to warm. No hair dryer and forget about asking for one because they said they would bring one up and just never came. Not even apologetic about the service. Breakfast was ok but chilly eggs aren’t the most appealing. The pools are so so and the view from most rooms is the dirty tops of the roofs below. There’s better hotels in the area if you do your homework.

Pleasant place to stay. Pool was great, food was buffet for breakfast and dinner with lots of options. Room was spacious but tired needs an update. Service was friendly. Ask for a room with a rainforest view on an upper floor.

Was a Passday due to a work activity, so I'm not able to qualify the rooms. But the service and location were both fantastic, the food not so much and I hope the get better. If you visit Panamá you might get prepared for the humidity, rain, sun !

5 stars because I’m very kind. We came to explore nature and the sloth. A slow moving creature which opens its bowels once a week. What we got were packs of fast moving children, shepherded by huge mothers. Plenty to like, but not the food or the white wine or the lobby carpet by the lift which was a victim of a war. The plastic breakfast cutlery : ouch. Staff doing their best, but in the end guest fatigue gets to you. Took a grand free garden nature tour with a relative of Crocodile Dundee. Butterflies excellent. And the brides, my goodness loads of them. A weight watcher’s paradise. Safe broken. The lift perfectly confusing. Prices fair. Enjoy.

unclear communication, first the buffet is included, then we should pay $20 per person, it took 2 days to clarify that, here one hand doesn't know what the other is doing! the food and the rooms are very good though 👍🏼

Tottaly directed for weedings. In the swimming pool area there was only 3 beds. Our last days in Panama here spent in this hotel unfortunately . There was 3 weedings at the same time, our room was above the party, so didn't sleep till 3 am. Bad food, bad service. The water of the Swimming pool was very dirty with no healthy insurance.

The hotel is nice and the surroundings are fantastic. However, they ruin the whole experience by playing loud music everywhere! There's no place you can sit and enjoy the silence. In the outdoor area next to the restaurant there is so loud music it's difficult to have a conversation. One night there were a wedding at the hotel, and the music were extremely loud EVERYWHERE. They kept it going until 04.00 in the morning! Don't the hotel want to take care of their paying guest? If you want to enjoy nature and the sound of the rainforest, go to another hotel! If you like the beating of music constantly, this is probably the hotel for you.

After travelling beautiful Panama, my wife and I spent our last night here. Although the hotel and its rooms could need some renovation, it is still a nice place. Absolute highlight is, that the hotel offers a guided 3hours tour through the rainforest for free. That was an absolute unforgettable memory. Also the hotel has a sloth rescue station and a butterfly farm u can visit for free. Great stay :)

The worst hotel I have ever been. There is wedding every day during the weekend, even on Sunday. The hotel is shaking from the loud music the whole night, our room was vibrating, we couldn’t sleep at all. At 2 am they finally ofered a different room. We slept 3 hours that night. You also cannot use the main door during the whole day!! So we must use a side entrance. Crazy. The hall was very dirty during our whole stay, there was dust everywhere. I highly not recommend this hotel.

The resort is in a very nice park, actually a jungle. Not far from the main road and easy to find. Very spacious grounds, golf course and lobby. The personnel are very responsive and fast to make the things better for you. Everything mentioned was taken care of immediately. After some time, I start asking myself a question: why the problems are not fixed before the guest talks about them? It might be that the maintenance personnel are not guided properly by the resort administration, or the owners try to save money and fix only the problems that are mentioned by the guest. For example: we walked into our room (nice big room with balcony as expected) and the first thing I discovered that the A/C thermostat is not working, it is set at 21.5 C° and you can not change the setting. We were offered another room that was much smaller (almost half the size), so I refused and did ask if they can change the thermostat. To my surprise it was done immediately, and I ask myself a question: why it was not done before we checked in? Slowly I start discovering more problems, some just unpleasant and some unacceptable. Unpleasant ones: - All the furniture is warned out and needs at least cosmetic uplift. - The balcony door is very hard to open. - All light bulbs are so weak that after putting all 5 lights on there is still not enough light. - There are traces of water penetration on the ceiling. - The toilet paper was so thin that instead of three pieces one uses a meter to have some thickness. The administration is getting wrong notion of economy. - No hooks in the bathroom to hang your shower towel. - No sound insultion. Unacceptable ones: - The desk side finish is unglued and nailed in, but part of it is detached from the desk and pinches your hand when you work on your computer. - The shower door doesn’t close properly, and the side panel glass is not sealed on the sides or the bottom. A lot of water comes out and stays on the floor around the drain and you get into it while passing by. - The wardrobe pole is holding on the tips of the screws and ready to fall off. - Not enough plugs in the room of this size. To plug in my CPAP machine, I had to disconnect one of the lights. Forget about plugging in the clock. - The fridge door is getting stuck when you try to close it. - Hot water faucet handle turns the wrong way because the cold-water valve was installed instead of the hot water valve. - Peeling off rust everywhere. At least it could have been cleaned and painted. With all above mentioned it was still a nice place to stay for $130 a day and I guess the inconveniences were a little price to pay for nice surroundings and exceptional service by the personnel. They really did their best to accommodate the guests which I can not say about the owners of the resort. I have also to mention the cleanliness of every place we went in this resort and attention at the restaurant. I am very satisfied with my stay. And there is a TV console with all type connections and extra power slots.

Horrible experience compared to Gamboa Reserve. Skip this hotel and head straight to Gamboa reserve. In Gamboa all I heard was birds. Summit resort you hear traffic, weed waking machines. It’s not even in the same league as Gamboa Reserve resort.. I am a seasoned traveller. Don’t stay here. You will be so disappointed. Don’t let the reviews trick you. This resort sucks.. This resort is 0 stars. Weed wacking at 630am in the morning. Rusty railings. Brutal food, atmosphere. If you want an amazing experience head to Gamboa Reserve resort. I’m so disappointed we left Gamboa reserve to stay here. Avoid this location like your life depends on it.. -100 compared to Gamboa Reserve.

Great price for great accommodations. We didn’t even realize that we would get a free bottle of wine and 15% discount at the restaurant with our stay. Free parking and very friendly workers. We left behind some stuff and they kept it for us to pick up when we are back in the area. I would love to stay here again and be able to enjoy the resort more in the future. They are night jungle tour is also very reasonably priced at only $20.

Unfortunatly, when I was there, There was No Hot Water. The pool, which was used for a party the day before, was full of foam. Of course, my son, once covered of this foam, had to take a cold shower, in a room with AC stuck at 16°C. Anyway, I do not recommend this hotel.

  • 1/5 Laura 5 months ago on Google
Location is good - close to Pipeline, breakfast was sufficient, the nature areas are simple & nice to have but need cleaning/improvement. The golf looks good. The rooms and general facilities are very poor and run down, room was dirty and damp, bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. There were white sunscreen fingerprints on everything in the room when we checked in - housekeeping should have caught that. The pool looked gross so we did not use it. There was no hot water on our first day. The 2nd day the elevator was out and we had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs. The carpet on our floor was coming up off the floor in places. There were constant parties in the ballrooms and lobby - multiple events at the same time so the hotel was LOUD and I hardly slept. The staff is a bit sloth-like and the hotel staff does not answer the phone or emails.

Lots of construction noise. The space is not suitable for the climate of Panama. The pool smelled very strongly of Clorox.

My wife and I stayed at Summit and it was absolutely amazing! We came to Panamá on our honeymoon to see the country and all the beautiful views. We stayed in the presidential suite and the scenery was absolutely amazing. Carlos who works at the hotel was bi-lingual and gave us a tour of the entire property and showed us the animals and everything the hotel has to offer. The staff was really friendly and had good restaurant recommendations and the hotel restaurant was so good to eat at. There are nightly activities and tours happening throughout the day at the resort. My wife and I will definitely be back and look forward to being members of the resort in the future!

I prefer the Westin over this place, for several reasons, but the staff at Westin are better too, and the westin has bathtubs (fun for my little kids). But this place has a great butterfly garden. Did not receive 5 stars due to the following factors: Reception staff was not the best on check in and forgot to mention anything about snacks, dinner, etc, and I had to ask for my snack voucher No bathtub Loud party music starts early in morning, at 7:30am The pool area is very much catered to locals, hence super loud music, only reggaeton, and then switched to colombian style later on. At mealtimes, they did not offer us any drinks (soda, wine, etc). Other all inclusive resorts do. During our hike tour, both perezoso and frog places were locked. Why? Strange. We booked the golf cart tour, but during the day they changed the times and didn't inform us, so when we showed up the tours had already finished. Pluses: We hiked the 'sendero' 3 times, the butterfly garden was great, so many butterflies, and we saw so many butterflies hatching out of the cocoon. The only other butterfly garden I know of is in El Valle de Anton. The fire pit area is relaxing and a good respite from the loud music and smells like el campo. The desserts during mealtimes were varied. We walked through the golf course paths, and very relaxing. We did all inclusive during a busy holiday weekend, so I expected lots of crowds, but if only they could have delayed the morning music a few hours, or at least make it calm music. No one is partying at 7:30am, it's only gringos and families with small kids at that hour. The rooms seem fine. Nothing particularly old about them. It's not the W, but it's not falling apart.

Great value for money, especially with the promo, but with a few issues: For those of us who don't like AC, if you turn it off, there is a huge condensation happening, and everything will be wet from floor to ceiling, extremely slippery too. The tour in the golf cart (4usd) was disappointing. Besides feeding the cayman, the guide was not interested, tried to cancel the tour then tried to drop us off 15min in for a half an hour tour. He finally dropped us off 27min after seeing nothing and getting no explanation whatsoever on the birds or the trees. However the morning tour on foot that is complimentary was awesome. We saw a lot of sloths, our guide was very patient and showing us everything. She showed us the sloths in the wild, the butterflies, the frogs and the rescue center and gave us a lot of explanations. 100% recommended to do this tour. The room was comfortable besides the condensation and the breakfast was good.

Definitely not a 4 star. We came across this place by accident due to the protests and being unable to travel where we wanted to go. We paid for the all inclusive package, but it really didn’t include much. The quality of the food and drinks was extremely poor. Lunch was all fried food we didn’t even eat it. And the only alcohol it included was bottom shelf rum gin and vodka. No wine, and no bottles water! There were no additional activities open other than the pool. I am sure in the busy season it might be better, but we won’t be returning.

Overall, we had a great experience with lots of wonderful memories. The pool area is beautiful. The view my room was wonderful, and the hiking trails are great. The onsite tour is also very good. The room was not great, but all we did was sleep in it. The room did smell a little musty and the air conditioner was freezing and the controls didn't work. Ultimately, we had staff shut it off and we just left our balcony door open for ventilation. The rugs in the hallways of the building are pretty run down too. We got the all inclusive package which was convenient and well-priced. It included breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, and some basic drinks with and without alcohol. If there was a major rainstorm and we were stuck in our room it probably would have been pretty disappointing. However, since the weather was beautiful we spent all day and night outdoors and had a beautiful time. Also, note that it is easy to get an Uber from Panama City to Summit, and it is not expensive. I stayed there for two nights, and I would definitely go back to stay two nights.

The very worst experience we have ever had staying in a place. Poor to no maintenance done. Poorly maintained property. In dire need of upgrading everything including staff. Touted as a 4 star facility and even the manager said a 2 star at best. We believe the highest rating would be half star. Had to change rooms four times to get one barely acceptable. Food was ok but should have been much much better for a facility that says they are 4 star. Also, very expensive for what it is.

  • 2/5 Ànna A. 9 months ago on Google
Not what I expected. Customer service was not great, wasn’t friendly when they realized our Spanish was not good. They have no rags in the rooms were very basic to be a 5 star resort. The pool area is very crowded. They had a wedding and kid’s birthday plus the foam partying happening all at one time. The reception area was a tight fit, if it’s a crowd coming through to check in. The food wasn’t as good, I guess cause it’s a buffet style. Didn’t offer the various of local dishes. The place seems like it’s good for a staycation for locals but not international guest. The prices are weird. It’s cheaper to take an Uber than to use the shuttle. They called after we left resort to say we didn’t pay but then he continued to search and found we paid for everything. The overall Vibe was a lil off and not welcoming.

I stayed at this hotel in February 2023. When I left I paid the bill for all the extras I had used. At the ned of March I was charged over USD220 by the hotel when I wasn't even there. At the end of April they charged me again another USD40+. Both of these charges were incorrect as I left Panama on 27 February. They hold your credit card details and they can use them whenever they want. I sent 2 E-Mails to the hotel but didn't get a reply. I then contacted my Visa company and raised 2 disputes. I got the smaller amount refunded (so presumably they thought it was a fraudulent transaction) but I have had to pay the other one (£190) because they claim that the hotel has proved that the bill was genuine. However, when I asked to see the bill and whether it had my signature on it they wouldn't help. This is absolutely awful. If you don't want incorrect charges put on your bill after you have left the hotel I strongly recommend you do not stay at this hotel. If I could give 0 stars I would but Google doesn't allow this.

Mid hotel. Service is good, well intentioned, but often delayed. Free shuttle service is good. Rooms were just ok. A highly rusted balcony, spot of blood stain on bedsheet, one faucet handle was non functional, and room service was inconsistent (re placed two towels with one towel, didn't replace bath mat etc). Buffet food was nothing noteworthy. Breakfast was good. Free tour of frog, sloth rehabs was good.

Nice place for kids! They got a really cool tour to see the animals around the forest and a butterfly farm in which they also grow the Panama national flower - La flor del Espiritu Santo🤍 The tour guide was great, he explained absolutely everything and made it fun for the kids. The food, on the other hand, was not very good. Quality is bad and is pricey. The customer service in the restaurant is not good either.

The hotel presentation is nice. But that's about where the good part ends. I'm visiting Panama from Florida and my girlfriend who lives in Panama, wanted us to go somewhere to disconnect. So we chose Summit Rainforest Resort. Upon walking into the entry level lobby, we noticed there was a wedding reception happening later that evening. That stopped us from being allowed in the full area of the lobby. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels because I travel for work and I'm always notified of some sort of event that would inconvenience my stay, whether it be construction outside or minor maintenance. The party was loud throughout the night. The pool was nice.....to look at. Clearly there's a main pool for adults and another pool near the fitness center with a slide for children. My girlfriend and I couldn't even appreciate the pool because obnoxious kids were jumping in the pool, splashing around and throwing all sorts of pool toys all over the place with nobody around to say "hey let's settle down and follow the pool rules." The pool area is not well lit at night and there's no light on in the pool so if someone drowns then I'm quite sure nobody would see until the next day. There's no store to buy snacks and drinks. So if you're hungry and the restaurant is closed then you're S.O.L. The Sloth tour was ok. The guide was very friendly but only spoke Spanish. My girlfriend and I just pushed on through the tour and did our own thing. If you want to visit and do the tour and you don't speak Spanish then the you'll get only 2 things out of the guide in English, "big Panama tree" and "big iguana wild". The air conditioner in the room was horrible. You can't adjust the temperature, so it's either on "super cold" or "off". There seemed to be a towel rack in our bathroom at some point. Would have been very useful if it was still there. Also, the tiles were cracking in the bathroom which seemed to be from settling of the foundation or possibly moisture getting behind the tiles. Nevertheless, kinda tacky. The original balconies had steel or iron railings and new glass barries were installed but the old and now rusting railings are still there and it's an absolute eyesore. They need to be removed Also, with the bed. The bed squeaks and creaks with minimal movement. Sounds like the springs are bad. Everywhere surround the property is gorgeous but that's about where the beauty stops

I was very pleased with my 3-night stay at the Summit Rainforest and Golf Resort. My daughter and I arrived mid-week and the resort was quiet and easy to navigate. Staff members were all very friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. The room was slightly dated but comfortable and clean with good air-conditioning and reliably fast WIFI and had a beautiful jungle view. The breakfast buffet was small but complete, and the food was good enough. The restaurant was reasonably priced for a golf club/resort and had a fair mix of items to choose from. The hotel rates itself as a 4-star resort, but do not expect to be staying in super high-end luxury. There were some imperfections like the sliding balcony door was difficult to open (the runners needed cleaning), there was some rust visible on the balcony railings, the pools needed a bit of maintenance (there was a lot of pollen falling into them causing them to be a bit cloudy on our first night, although they were cleaned before the weekend), and the food is by no means mind blowing but completely acceptable. What you do get is great service, options for lots of daytrips offered at reasonable prices (I didn’t take any of them, but they were clearly listed in the lobby), a free hour long walking tour of the outdoor areas including a small sloth rehab center, frog sanctuary and butterfly garden with a knowledgeable nature guide, an infinity pool and kids pool with full-service poolside food/drinks, and the option to play golf on a well maintained course. The resort felt very safe and secure so that we were comfortable walking the beautiful grounds into the evening. There was a wedding on Friday evening, but other than the lobby being partially closed that night, I did not find it caused us any inconvenience and I could not hear the afterparty in my room. For about $80 per night, I was very satisfied with the value for money I received from this hotel and would happily stay here again.

The location of the hotel was great for viewing nature. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Sergio, who was our guide on a rainforest walk and led a tour of the butterfly and frog centres (these tours were free!). We were able to check-in early which I really appreciated. The pool area and grounds were lovely and the room was comfortable with great beds.

Cool! Many things to do and learn about the fauna and flora. My personal opinion, I think they can improve a little bit the cook.

Will not recommend paying for an all inclusive. Check in is strictly at 3pm. Although you paid for an all inclusive, drinks and food is only available from 5pm to 8pm. There are no entertainment at all. Just the pool. Golfing is available is you are willing the pay the additional cost.

The hotel needs restoring of the outside buildings, it could also be more clean inside the rooms. The staff goes above and beyond. The elevators are extremely slow.

I go often with friends and family and always leave having a great time. It’s like home away from home, and the service and security the whole team makes me feel so comfortable and safe. If you go you have to try the masters burger you’ll thank me later!

I'll give it one star because i can't do any less than that. Every single thing in this Hotel is absolutely disgusting. The food and customer service was the worst i've had in any hotel of any price in my entire life .Whole hotel was rusty, dirty, smelly. And the cleaning lady stole my Valentino cologne. There was not a single thing i enjoyed staying here. Please stay as far away as you can. Go to gamboa

Breakfast is decent. Butterfly tour and Simba the sloth was nice to see. If it wasn’t for Simba the sloth, this would be a 1 star review. Terrible reception. Reception messed up three of our excursions. No coordination between them. We missed out on activities because of poor communication on their part. Maybe there was a language miscommunication but it should not have been as hard as it was to book any of the tours. We confirmed a tour and when we showed up, they told us they couldn’t take us. All staff members besides the front desk were all amazing. Our room did not have hot water for hours despite mentioning it to them multiple times. We were put on a floor with no other guests because the floor was undergoing maintenance. Very inadequate amount of lighting in the hotel rooms. Main lamp and TV were not even plugged in when we checked into the room. Wifi is very spotty from the third floor. Gamboa rainforest resort was sold out during our time in Panama for a reason.

This is the first time I have ever seen a golf range together with a golf course. Practice your swing on the range then walk over to the course. Incredibly convenient and fun. I am incredibly impressed with my experience there.

This hotel is lovely great value for money. Rooms are spacious, and amenities are great. The tours are fantastic. My only criticism is that they should offer free shuttles to their guests to the city centre. The hotel is located around 30 mins away and taxi costs $30 each way to & from the city centre where all the bars & restaurants are. I felt safe as a female solo traveller, and staff were helpful

Great location, only about 20 minutes to Panama Canal, Panama City, Gamboa and major shopping. Hotel is a value midweek for about $75 including breakfast and tours of Sloth, Butterfly and Frog sanctuaries. We actually had our kids 8 / q0 with us and there was no additional charge which is rare these days. Solid breakfast buffet with great fresh fruit. Some minor upkeep needed around the property but all things considered an incredible value. Big credit to Sergio who led our tours twice, great chap!

The hotel itself is pretty great. We had a somewhat bad check in experience - sent to a dirty humid room, switched to another room and walked in on a guy in undies enjoying HIS room, etc. 4th was the charm. The room was decent, except we had reserved a king bed and we instead got two double beds. Not the atmosphere we were looking for as an anniversary trip but okay... so honestly, all that would have made it a 3 star for me. But then, Heriberto. Pictured below, with his permission. Honestly that was the most fun we've had with a tour guide EVER. He was hilarious, knowledgeable, and made us feel so comfortable. The guy deserves a raise. Overall good experience.

Great experience here! Beautiful yard and yummy drinks & food at their restaurant. Pools looked nice too. Staff was pleasant. BTW- On the 8th floor you can look out the window and get a SWEET picturesque view of the city Panama. We saw monkeys and colorful birds on the hotels wood platform near the woods eating fruits.

Great place to relax. A little outdated, but nice rooms, good service and a nice restaurant/bar. Prices are very fair. Nice area with great nature, interesting guided tours and the chance to play some golf on the huge 18-hole area.

The location is awesome, the hotel room and breakfast and other service were kind of cheap. Personnel not friendly, the rooms were not super clean, and the breakfast is very very simple. Overall a good stay in the middle of the rainforest.

Perfect place. Staff was so nice the whole time. Reception was very helpful. The food was so good. We had no issue or complain at all. Very relaxing place and the All Inclusive values every cent you paid for.

We loved the resort! We were so relaxed and the staff was very friendly. Our room had a great view and the tours were great. Food can be improved but I believe it's a Panamá thing. Would definitely book again.

Thanks to the hotel for helping to organize a conference for 90 people. The service was very high quality and fast, and most importantly, all the guests were very satisfied, even the most fastidious. You are professionals, thank you very much!!

We were looking for a stay near Soberania National Park outside of Panama City. In some ways, this fit the bill. We were able to take a hike in the rainforest, get a birding tour on the golf course, and see sloths, coatis, agoutis, armadillo, and tamarins on the grounds. However, the hotel seems to be run largely to cater to weddings, graduation parties, and a partying crowd escaping from Panama City. If you are looking for a natural retreat, there probably are better options. If you are seeking a pool party scene adjacent to the rainforest, this could be a good choice. Regarding the building itself, there have been efforts to patch up some of the challenges. But it has the feel of an aging hotel with band aids. Some parts of the facility are nice, while others may not have been updated since the 1980s.
