Beware to the tourist, this restaurant tried to take advantage of me big time. My friend and I waited 2 and a half hours for our meals to come out and when the food arrived they only brought out my friends meal. Then the lady who took my order said I never ordered anything. Being the only white guy in the bar she definitely remembered taking my order. My friend had to get into a massive argument and only after the manager came out did we get our money back for the meal that never came.

Went for Valentine's Day Lunch & Friday Happy Hour. What an incredible place. Food so delicious. Beers so good. Friendly staff. Didn't want to leave the place. The best meeting place in Nuku'alofa.

The spicy chicken burger was delicious and spicy - beer was cold and the glass full. Fun atmosphere and welcoming staff and locals.

Very popular with the locals and there were a couple big groups there. We had to go up after about 20 minutes to order as no one came to our table. But the food was ok and it is reasonably priced and quite fast once we ordered.

When visiting Tonga this was our to go to place every evening. Great food, music, and the locals were so friendly.

Seems to be the bar where most local expats and regular island visitors drop in. During the weekend it is much more crowded but still busy during the week days. Food is ok with reasonable price. Service is good and ample parking across the street.

Update **24August 2024*** Updated review to add stars. Had the best food in a long time and service was stellar. They've updated and cleaned and seems to be under new direction. We had a bucket of our favorite local beer and enjoyed the entire experience. 4 🌟. Complete improveme. This could be five star. Will see again next time.

Staff was nice, food was allright. I had a hamburger with fries. Overall the place had a good vibe. Bathroom needs some soap for customers and the urinal was a bit interesting and funny. There is lot of mosquitoes so spray yourself with repellent before going. There is plenty of options for drinks so got a feeling the place might be better as a bar/club.

Fish and chips are great!!! We just went for lunch. Place is basically a night club, so it's a bit dark and if your in shorts you will get bit by mosquitos.

Meals can take a while here, and the music can be very loud, however prices are reasonable and there are plenty of happy locals and tourists here any day of the week.

They brew their own beer. It was pretty good The thumpalicious chicken and bacon meal wasn't full keto but pretty close and very delicious. Always a great day at the billfish.

Mixed review of our experience at Billfish , wife had fish tacos which she really enjoyed and our friend enjoyed her fish burger, while I had the surf and turf . This arrived and consisted of mash potatoes 4 small prawns (dry) and a very disappointing dryed thin piece of meat . Not really what I was looking forward too

Had the godfather pizza which was average, Gorgonzola gnocchi and creamy vegetarian pasta which was the best of the bunch. Ran out of salad ingredients though and weren’t given the option for another salad. Ok service.

I forgive all my prior pizza experience in Tonga after tonight. I ordered the bluecheese and 4 cheese pizza to go tonight and I was floored. i picked up the order and took a bite of the blue cheese in the car(I was hungry) and it was absolutely mouthwatering and creamy. Great cheese to crust ratio. This is my first time trying Little Italy's and you did not disappoint. You have a new happy customer. Grazie mille

Delightful decor and delicious dinner made for a lovely evening out. Food was tasty, prices were not bad, and the selection was decent. Definitely one of the better dining experiences in Tonga. Generous portions had us taking some away to finish later; sadly we couldn't manage dessert!

Laid back atmosphere, with extremely cheesy pizza compared to anything else I've had on Tongatapu. The pizzas seem expensive but with a group of us and starters it worked out be ~$20TOP per person. I'd go back again 🍕

Was looking forward to dining here, especially as I'd caught my first sailfish the day before! We turned up after a long walk there about 5pm on a June Tues and had a drink at the bar, the only customers there, so I kind of expected a bit more of a welcome. A palaagi who appeared to be part of the establishment was doing paperwork at the end of the bar, he didn't acknowledge us. The bar person gave me change for $20 when I'd given her a $50, and I had to ask her to show me the note I'd given her before I got the correct change. It was perhaps a genuine error but then not made up for appropriately, and together with the general indifference of the personnel there, we decided not to dine there after all. (Didn't get to exercise my bragging rights over the sailfish!😊)

Stayed here for two nights. Accommodation decent. Breakfast nice. Restaurant food average. Service inconsistent. Seems to dominate island as very busy; not really sure why...

Billfish is a great little local bar and restaurant with a distinctive Tongan feel. Food quality is quite good and they offer a good range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. They run a trivia night on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm which is quite popular.

Had lunch with my husband and kids and it’s the first time there, food was good but it felt so unwelcome, the staff just went ahead doing their own things and I won’t mind coming back but my kids said it sux, sad I can’t change their mind, plse make it more welcoming atmosphere and especially for famz, we will be back billfish.

Place is alright for a beer, no view on the water or anything, they had only two types of beer available on tap and no cocktails. Not really family friendly. Looked a bit meeeh but staff was nice.

Went here with friends to eat dinner. Tasty big dishes. Just be sure to leave before the nightclub starts up as the ambiance is ruined shortly after the music gets turned up way too loud and teenagers walk through the door.

Very Friendly place. The service was so good especially the food. Love their fish thou. Highly recommended!

Over priced and over rated. Had fish and chips with the fish coming out a deep brown colour obviously very much overcooked. Staff didn't care more interested in talking to the locals playing darts. Nothing special about the place with the tables and chairs placed of uneven coral rocks.

I've been here 4 or five times over the past 7 years. I like the atmosphere. There is a local band that plays 70's 80's and 90's songs. They are very good. When I was there it was "pass the hat" for the band. The location was perfect for me since I came in on a ship. A quick walk there from the port.

On arriving in Tonga we were told to visit. Hass a helpful expirience in the morning of Thursday 19th Oct from a young lady by letting us use her wifi so we could contact the rental company. With that we thought we would return that evening for dinner only Ti find different staff. We ordered our drinks in Happy hour and food. Everybody else obviously locals were in after us and getting food, ours nowhere to be seen.45 mins later I'm about to blow my top do with that I walked to the bar, said we had been waiting longer than others so paid for the beer and left. Very rude and not very inviting to tourists in my opinion.

On May 31st 2024, a group of us completed a Walkathon to raise the awareness about the importance of Blood Donation in Tonga. Our group started our walk from the gates of Apifoou to Ha’atafu and return back to finish our walk at Billfish. It took us over 9 hours to complete the distance. The management and staff at Billfish treated us with the best service ever. The staff were customer centric, friendly and were an absolute delight to interact with. Bo and her team served us some tasty finger foods and a selection of wines and beers. Drop into Billfish when you’re in Tonga, you certainly won’t be disappointed 10/10 ✅❤️⭐️
