Enjoyed a blissful week here during the King’s Birthday celebrations. My room (2112) had a beautiful vista over the water. The bed was superbly comfortable and the pillows were perfect. Buffet breakfasts were delicious, and included an omelette station & plenty of healthy options. Meals served at the poolside bar were all fantastic with generous servings - great value for money. The hotel staff were friendly & charismatic. You can’t beat this location along the waterfront yet only a couple of minutes walk into the CBD.

Incredible place. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are awesome. We loved the breakfast buffet (especially the waffles)! We tried almost everything at the Fresh Bar. Drinks are solid. Food is good. Above all though, these guys care to make your stay the best. We stayed 2 nights then checked out so we could stay elsewhere in Tonga. We ended up booking a third night because other places just didn't measure up. If you ever have the pleasure of visiting Tonga, stay with Tanoa! You won't regret it.

Where to start. Spent 7 days there. Cleanliness: was good Service: mediocre. They are understaffed but very nice. Food: only 6 items on the menu daily, so might be tricky. Some items were good (burger, pasta) but overpriced compared to others. Location is nice. Like other reviews, fire alarm went off at 10.10 pm which woke everyone and went on for 5 min. During the 7 days, we experienced 2 weddings in the lobby hall. It's normal but you might experience loud music and a lot of people if you are seeking relaxation. Gym is great.

Amazing hotel, very beautiful. My only complaint is the lack of equipment in the fitness room and is why I didn't give a 5 star rating. For a hotel of its caliber it definitely needs and upgrade with some free weights and more workout equipment. Hopefully, they will upgrade on my next trip.

It was a nice note. Good clean amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would have preferred a better food selection on the menu as most of it was fried in some form or another. Also, the hotel had no hot water for the first 3 days, they were waiting on a part/engineer from NZ to fix it.

We recently stayed 7 nights, 3 rooms and 9 people. Awesome location, walked to town daily to the markets and to get our daily ice cream in a waffle cone and swam across the road off the pier. The pool was great, especially for the little ones who swam twice daily. Our rooms 1101-1103 weren't ocean front but good view of the pool which suited our family with the kids swimming. The rooms were very tidy and as displayed online. No disappointment other than the restaurant menu. Same menu at the poolside bar, no Polynesian meal or show. Definitely room for improvement to the menu. Will stay again and maybe look elsewhere to have evening meals.

Won't stay here again. Separated from my group even though one card reserved five people. Deadbolt didn't work. Maid service rearranged all my stuff. One colleague got locked in the bathroom thankfully he had his cell phone and could call the front desk. Another colleague walked out of her shower at 10:00 a.m., mind you we had a room on the second floor, and saw a guy outside her window working, we thought we'd be safe on the second floor leaving our curtains open. The Continental breakfast and restaurant were fabulous. Attach images are of dirty curtains and dirty guest laundry.

I believe this is the biggest hotel in Nuku'alofa, which makes it ideal (or the only choice) for large groups. The pool is pretty nice and you can't beat the location, just a couple blocks from downtown with rooms that have water views. The breakfast is modest, but tasty. However, there were a few negative things that stood out: - It's one of the most expensive hotels on the island, but it's not particularly nicer than some of the smaller hotels - The gym, although we'll equipped, doesn't have any towels or cleaning equipment - Every time I ate at the restaurant there was a problem with my order or billing - The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night for about 15 minutes, but there was no explanation why or whether or not everything was safe - A stranger was able to enter my room using their key card. I'm not sure how at all this was possible, and it quite startled me. It was a younger girl who was incredibly apologetic, so I didn't feel threatened, but the lack of security is fairly unsettling. Needless to say, make sure you use the physical lock. These are fairly minor issues except for the last one, which is a disturbing security problem. However, the doors do have physical locks, so I guess you can mitigate that risk? Overall, it wouldn't be the end of the world to stay here again, but it might be nice to try somewhere else

Unfortunately I got a room above the smelly, noisy kitchen vent that runs non stop 6am-9pm. The room wasn't ready on arrival check in time, but this is Tongan time and they let me wait by the pool until it was. It's a typical hotel so the food and drink is a bit overpriced ($10T for a coconut, same for a beer and same for fries). The WiFi was included in the cost and mostly worked albeit slow. The breakfast was pretty good - you can get eggs your way (scrambled, poached etc) and the other things changed daily (sometimes a vege stir-fry then the next day a chickpea curry), plus all the usual cereals, toasts, juice, yuck coffee. Never too busy by the pool so can get a chair and umbrella. Unfortunately reception wasn't able to help me book a car, but they did get me an airport shuttle on departure ($40T/pp). They refresh your towel and drinking water daily. It's not as nice as the photos but I guess that's most places. Overall, it's nice for Tonga but I'm not sure it's worth the cost.

Look, I am pretty generous with my reviews. If I have a doubt, I will give them credit but for the biggest hotel on the island it needs to do better. The rooms were ok, if a bit small. TV was small for the room but I guess ok if you plan to be out and about. Breakfast was really poor. Limited options, no bacon etc you would expect from a big hotel, juices limited to orange and apple. You basically get toast, cereal and 2, maybe 3 fresh fruits. For the same price you can go to Escape or Friends cafe which is what I would recommend. The shampoo/body wash could have been organic or simple but they were pina colada and was really artificial. There were plenty of bugs in the room which was not a big issue for my but just a FYI. Look it was just not for me which is maybe just my issue but want to be honest about it. Next time? Seaview I think....

Perfect place to stay in Nuku'alofa! The ocean is right out front and if you go out off the abandoned jetty across the street you can get some great snorkeling! The staff, starting with the General Manger Jason, Salome, Kaylie, Sala, just to name a few were extremely helpful and friendly! Recommend getting an ocean view room, eating dinner at the restaurant as it was very good and, if in season taking a whale swim excursion with Tanoa Expeditions. Excellent buffet breakfast was included!!

Tanoa Dateline is a waterfront property walking distance to town and the port. Manager Jason and his friendly professional staff are awesome. Nothing is too much trouble. Boat and local ferry trips to nearby and remote islands to see humpback whales are managed seamlessly. Come to Tonga to experience laid-back, beautiful, happy, laughing locals amongst some awesome Pacific locations.

Rooms were spacious and the AC units worked well! Service was daily, but they always seemed to run out of towels. I got a little tired of coming back to my room and finding no towels. I started asking them not to come in just to keep my towels! But the staff were very nice and breakfast was always good. There are staffing shortages everywhere, and that may contribute to the laundry issue. The food was good at the bar restaurant, but the menu is limited if you are there for a prolonged stay. There are plenty of local restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel is across from the pier and public transportation. The hotel shuttle was there for us even though we arrived in the middle of the night. Overall, i enjoyed my stay.

The people are what make Tonga so special. Other than that, do not expect anything amazing. The breakfast buffet is adequate and the staff are what make your breakfast experience memorable. The restaurant is often out of ingredients so your first or second choice for lunch or dinner is often not avaliable. This is common across Tongan hospitality. Two wheelchair accessible rooms where the drainage hasn't been configured very well and the bathroom floors flood during your shower. The tiles when wet are dangerously slippery throughout the room. During the storm our room flooded and necessitated that we change rooms at 1am in the morning. Outdoor furniture is very comfortable and high quality however the atmosphere definitely lacked, very rarely music being played to create the atmosphere. I wish they would pick better times of the day or even night than the middle of the afternoon to drain the sewage tanks by the pool and bar. The smell was unbearable. The house keeping is very slow to clean rooms often in our room upwards of an hour and the room is still not cleaned. The towels are washed rather than replaced daily meaning your room is without towels for up to 6 hours a day. The cups and dishes are not cleaned in the rooms. The housekeeping staff also speak in Tongan in front of you and giggle which I found a bit unprofessional. The gym is hardly functional, never cleaned and equipment scattered often blocking access to other machines. Access to the manager was near impossible hence this review, but what is very unfortunate is that thread's in this review are common across others and appear to be falling on deaf ears.

We were at Tanoa for meeting. The location is great, situated at the waterfront, it is a 10 minutes walk to town. There are great cafes and food stalls along the seawall so you have options if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
