Went for after dinner drinks and dessert with friends. Was surprisingly quiet but the drinks service and food were excellent as always. This is one of the best restaurants around the area. We've eaten there many many times and have never been disappointed.

This is an excellent eatery located in the downtown area of the Greenlandic capital of Nuuk. It is a cosy place offering delicious food and excellent service. The staff is friendly, competent, and helpful. In my experience, the service was prompt and efficient. The restaurant does tend to get busy around lunchtime, which can sometimes affect the preparation of the food; however, the staff are quick to indicate the likely waiting time before you place an order. It is certainly one of the best places in Nuuk to grab a bite. They also offer delicious cakes, good coffee, and outstanding freshly squeezed fruit juices.

Just take it from me… look no further for vegetarian options or simply great food if you are in Nuuk. This Cafe serves American Dinner style food only kicked up a notch or two. The Veg burger was out of this world … tasty, flavorful and so filling since it was double decker patties serviced with your choice of sweet potatoes fries or French fries or baked potato. The veg Pattie’s were further dressed with avocado, fine sliced red onions and much more. You just have to try it. The Veg panini was equally tasty filled with cheese, onions and yellow bell peppers. The detox carrot Ginger Apple juice was outstanding as well. The service is friendly and the price is right. Give his place a shot. You won’t regret it. #burgers #vegburgers #dinner

I took the Esme Burger and my GF took the Chili Esme Burger. Drinks are Frozen Fruity and Strawberry Smoothie, everything was perfect and at a good price. Special mention for the Frozen Fruity 👌🏼for real. Thank you for that.

I really enjoyed Cafe Esmeralda. It is simply much more than a Cafe, this is a place where you can take and buy food or have a plain dinner. It is easy to find a table because it is big (which it makes the place also a bit noisy) but service is good and you do not have to wait much. Dishes were really good, but desserts shall be improved, as there are ONLY ice creams.

We had a delicious lunch here! Well presented and delicious meals, good prices, and lots of vegetarian (and some vegan) options. Typical to many places we’ve been to, it’s order at the cash register and they bring food to you.

Esmeralda is a modern and busy café - they have classic dishes and quite a few of them, and recently introduced more and more vegetarian and vegan options. The place is also a market-leader for eco-friendly alternatives to plastics, which is much appreciated. The food they serve is quite nice, the standard is above average in town, but not exceedingly good (as the menu is quite expansive). The prices are a bit high, but the portion-size do make up for it quite well - and again; in general the menu is good/great to eat.

Vegan food is limited. Avocado sandwich on great bread and wine and beer 🍻! Went again and had veggie burger and fries. Just hold the mayo for a great vegan meal

Fantastic fine meal. Had lamb chops. Pricing was decent. Only issue is you have to order at counter and food delivered to table. If you want more drinks or refills you have to return to counter. Would recommend

Hungry in Nuuk Greenland and googled for an eat in and found Esmeralda while walking. Friendly english speaking staff, very fast table service and great vegetarian fare. Would not hesitate to repeat thanks

Hvis du er i Nuuk, og leder efter et sted at spise i cafe genren a-la København, med god mad, meget rimelige priser, høflig betjening, god og hyggelig stemning, og portioner i en størrelse man kan være bekendt at servere, så er cafe “Esme” et par “stenkast” til venstre når du går ud fra Hotel Hans Egede, et rigtigt godt sted! Der kan være lidt travlt omkring spisetid, men for det meste til at få bord - måske med lidt venten. Prisniveau 165,- for en god stor pastaret, en voksen mand kan blive mæt af, 85 kr. for en STOR lækker kølig Leffe fadøl. Det er der sgu mange steder i København der ikke kan leve op til! I gør det godt Cafe Esme!

Great food, there's a reason this place is always busy!

The food is great and it is probably the only place that will serve freshly squeezed juice which are all fantastic - i love the winter juice. They recently moved to a larger location which means even though they have more space - people are more likely to go there and is often crammed. If you can get a table it's the best place for brunch and lunch.

Best cafe in all of Greenland would recommend over and over again. Let me tell ya, when i hear Cafe Esmeralda I think Heaven on earth. I had a layover in Nuuk, not knowing anything or even knowing Greenland was an actual place other than on a Map. I ventured off into town and found this Gem of a place. My God i was blown away at how welcoming the staff and how great the food and atmosphere was. If i could give this a 10 star review i would, No wait a 1,000 star review would be better, couldnt have asked for a better Cafe. You made my trip to Greenland worth it, you make this world a better place. Thank God for Cafe Esmeralda. The true and beautiful treasure of Nuuk.

Very cozy restaurant with a great variety on the menu. Nice surroundings and able to sit a group of 11 people around 1 table. Huge well prepared and arranged servings. Quick service from an attentive staff. Handled individually payments and offered a great service.

Excellent food, good price, definitely worth visiting!

Simple place with tables and chairs. You order at the bar and pay before you receive the food. The food was delivered fast. We shared the nachos as appetiser. Not much a fan of nachos but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. For the main course I ordered a burger with eggs, fries and with a greenlandic ox patty. The first bite had a strong taste and after taste from the meat, which required some getting used to. The portions are large and it was not necessary with an appetiser before the main course. This place has much of a cafe vibe to it. The same goes for the food. For what it is, it does it well. I would eat here again.

The lamb is divine. The plates are huge. You pick a table and order at the bar with the number. It seems to work very well.

Nice concept where you go to the bar and order your food and drinks. Afterwards they will bring it to your table. The food was good (I ordered a Seafood salad) with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is local with several families. On the expensive side of the scale (at least for a salad). Overall a good experience.

Good service (you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table). The food is well portioned and delicious. They sell wine, beer and alcohol in addition to juices and smoothies.

Decent breakfast menu and salads, large portions, and coffee drinks were good. Diner-ish style, have a wide menu. As so many other cafes in Nuuk, very ok to stay on, read your book or play some cards. Very good service.
