Though church is gorgeous from inside however due to unfriendly timings you cannot find it open all the time. Not only this church, all other churches doesn't stay open all throughout the day as a result remote or semi-popular churches like St.Alex gets low visitor count. I belive church authorities should consider this and keep it open entire day time so that tourist who visits these places for its architecture and beauty, should not be deprived.

St. Alex Church is one of the oldest churches in Goa and is the first chapel church. It was built in 1597 on the banks of the Angoddi Tollem Lake..

Was lucky to catch the Curtorim Fair near the church. Very nice to see local talent. Perhaps they should do the Fair on the parking grounds. Church is beautiful as ever.

It's a nearly 430 year old church and it has beautiful architecture inside. Structure is still intact, when we visit renovation work was in progress for part of the Church.

About St Alex Church – The existing church was built in 1741 by the Communidades (village communities) with the help of donations. The towers were erected in 1765. There is a β€œcupola falsa” of Indian style. Its main sanctuary β€œcapelamor” was rebuilt on July 16, 1916 and blessed on July 16, 1916. The church was entrusted to the diocesan clergy in the year 1767. In the church yard there is a Grotto of Our lady of Lourdes, it was the first grotto dedicated to the Our Lady in entire Goa.

Beautiful village setting. We visited the place late in the afternoon. A calm lake, distant green hills, footballers, screams of tiny tots playing in the neighboring park, villagers on evening strolls, and amidst this all the church spire pointing high up in the blue sky. Quite serene and memorable.

One of the Best church in Goa. It has the most interesting architecture internal aswell as external. A beautiful green lake in-front & hill at the back of it, Play-Garden on the left and market on the right side. It also has a college (higher secondary) next to it. The whole surrounding gives the vibe of peace and calmness. #APlaceYouMustVisit!

The architecture of the was amazing. We went there for mid night Christmas mass celebration and it we really enjoyed it although it was in a foreign language. There were almost 500 hundred people that attended mass. Very well organised.
