The nurses do not have any manners, people skills or empathy. I would never come here again. Also I am witnessing two nurses complaining about everything in the hallway, where patients can hear. This is low class and stressful, just before you are going under anaesthetic within 15mins. This place is a joke and it is a private facility. I have had better experiences in the public hospitals.

I have had many procedures at St George Private Hospital and have always had great service from all of the staff. Checking in is quick and easy with very little wait time and all of the nurses are kind and caring. The private rooms are big and spacious and very comfortable. A very good hospital.

Had a recent 3 night stay (originally meant to be 2 nights) and had a very average experience. The admission staff were amazing and gave a great first impression, food was quite good and the rooms kept clean however it went downhill once I was taken to my room following my surgery. Firstly I was given a shared room (although on my own) despite the ward being 3/4 empty with lovely single rooms with views being vacant. Apart from the routine morning blood pressure and temperature check NOT ONCE during my 3 night stay did the nurses check in on me nor did they once fill my water jug to take my meds. I had to ask where I could fill my jug and was directed to a room at the end of the hall, just 12 hours after surgery. My sheets were bloodied and had asked for them to be changed whilst I showered yet a nurse put down a clean towel over my bloodied sheets. They were changed 2.5 hours later after a further request. I was in quite a lot pain after the second night which I hesitantly buzzed the nurses for some pain killers and later saw them in the morning when to my disbelief they informed me I was being discharged. I practically had to beg to stay another night as I didn’t have any home care. I truly felt I was forgotten about by the nursing team during my entire stay. Really disappointing experience and felt an incredible lack of care from the nurses. Likely to have further surgeries and hesitant to stay here again.

Horrible experience for my first baby, I would not recommend at all ! I got the self funded maternity package, Midwives neglect you ! My water broke and went into the hospital for a check up, there was no examination done i was left in a room for 3 hours and midwife Helen stated she forgot about me in the room snd that there are more important people to attend to, she then let me go home. My water was leaking for 3 days and the midwives ignored the signs until 3 days later my Obstetrician checked me and said to go straight to hospital. The Paediatrician Dr Dunlop didn't do a thorough check on baby nor did he come back for his second visit he said it was not important. My baby got dehydrated and the midwives did nothing before we went home my baby didnt have a wet nappy for almost 24 hours. I highly suggest you use a different hospital for a better more professional maternity experience, you and baby come first. I had my baby in March 2022 and put in several complaints and management have not had the decency to contact me at all. I want my refund for the self funded package $4000 as this hospital did not deliver the service and care it promises at all.

Had a surgery last week, the nurses who looked after me at the time I stayed there was fantastic, super friendly esp Bernadette, Monica, Narissa...the room was clean, well looked after, food was ok may be due to lack of appetite after surgery. Thank you so much for making my stay comfortable.

Recently had surgery at St George Private. I can’t praise the staff enough. The nurses were amazing. They went above and beyond. I was only in for 2 nights but they were caring and so helpful. The food was limited due to my surgery but it was fantastic. My only suggestion is in the rooms it would be helpful above the bed to have something that allows a patient to pull themselves up. Other then that it was a great experience.

I will never attend this hospital again! I was made fun of by a male nurse and touched on the arm without consent whilst at my most vulnerable time just came out of anaesthesia after a complicated surgery. I must say he is lucky I don’t know his name and he was not my main team of care doctors otherwise he would have a law suit on his hands! Traumatic experience and it is a shame as I have had to change my doctor due to not wanting my next surgery at St George Private! You get treated better in a public hospital these days!! Unacceptable.

I was in for 5 days and cannot fault any staff. From the initial inpatient process to discharge, the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. All the personnel in ICU, the wards and those behind the scenes made the stay easier to bear. The food is incredible. Thank you

What a fantastic team! It starts with the bookings team, great contact helpful and knowledgeable. Then upon arrival you are made to feel welcome, pretty nice feeling when there's so much covid around, you are "checked in" and directed to the appropriate section. From here everything progresses quickly and efficiently by a very busy but friendly team of professionals. The entire experience from first contact to departure is perfect.

Worst hospital! Negligent and disgusting behaviour from nursing staff. It is sad that some of the best surgeons work at this corrupt hospital that cover up their wrong doing. My GP admin reached out to Mr Ridley who I believe is CEO and his PA regarding patient concern as my wife does not want to go to St George Private but her lovely surgeon only works there and my GP email was ignored Mr Ridley and his executive team could not bother to reassure safety of the patient! Seriously guys not worth the stress. Find another surgeon choose a better hospital .. I will be lodging a complaint against this hospital and seeking legal advice

I have been going to StGeorge Private from day one that it open It has changed a lot They used to serve you your meal with white gloves and had your little fridge I always gone back as I was very happy with everything But this time I was very disappointed as I had a major surgery 6.5 hours I feel that some of the staff where lacking I had to ask more then once to get my jag feel to get my medication I was there for two days My sheets that where blood soil where only change once and not once did anyone came to clean my room. At the day of discharge I was given all this medication that it was not necessary and I did take for 4 days that made me quit sick and I was vomiting that it wasn’t supposed to after my surgery I had to stop the medication as I was not eating and effected my stomach What happened to the old Stgeorge Private? Thank you 🥲

I had surgery here with Dr. KuzinKovas. It was my first surgery here and was very anxious, scared and nervous. I really wish I knew all the nurses name as they are all honestly like angels! They are the most amazing, kind, professional, bubbly and sweet nurses I have ever met! The two nurses that looked after me at night were Ma. Liza and Mark, they both were my angels and the sweetest. They go out of their way to help with anything and come to my rescue when needed ASAP. I would not be in a comfortable place if it wasnt for them! 10/10. Its homestly like being in a 5 star hotel. Love you all 😘

Attending Day surgery is never easy, but at a high risk Covid time it's all the more stressful. From check in to departure every Nurse and associated member of the St George Private team were friendly, and just generally lovely. It was my fourth time having Day surgery at the Hospital over the last decade and at a time they could be excused (Sydney Delta Covid 19 outbreak) for being under pressure, they have raised the bar higher not dropped it.

Everyone was wonderful could not have expected better treatment both Public and Private St George Hospitals best I have ever been in - thankyou all so much made horrible surgery bearable.

I had to do a small treatment in St George Private Hospital. I was in stress but as soon as arrived there I was impressed with such a great, helpful service. I could see there beautiful, hard-working team of people: everyone was polite and empathic. And they were smiling. Thank you to Dr Dani, Tim and every single person being around me.

We had our daughter last month at St George & the staff & service was excellent. It was my first stay in hospital and it didn’t go exactly as I’d hoped. The midwives, doctors & nurses were incredible. They were considerate, caring & knowledgeable. I would recommend the double rooms & the food was better than expected (except breakfast 😟). thank you!

I had my first baby here. While it wasn’t the worse experience, we will go public for our second as we don’t feel that St George was worth the extra money. Our midwife was brusk and unsupportive while I was in labour (asking me to not scream so loudly), our hospital room was too cold and I was only told about the various classes for new mums about 30 minutes before they were due to start. The nurses were for the most part lovely (particularly the younger ones) but the lady that checked my baby for jaundice each morning was rude and made me cry on my last day (telling a new mum off for making her baby cold at 6am in the morning when she was trying to do skin to skin and breastfeed is not particularly kind.)

I had a nice experience in this hospital until I was in a discharge room . One big nurse was so nasty and unhelpful. I had a general anaesthetic, so I was a bit wobbly, I was on a wheel chair. When my partner arrived to pick me up, she pushed me to entrance . When I wanted to pay my prescribed medication, she refused me to take the reception, where just 5m away. “That’s not my job” she kept shouting to me. She was so pushy and extremely unhelpful . I have never seen unhelpful nurse like her . Because of this nasty nurse, my stay in this hospital made me upset ..

Over the past three months I’ve been admitted to St George Private three times. My first visit was for a knee replacement and I was on Level 2. I suffered complications and spent 15 days in hospital. The care I received was amazing. On my next two visits I spent 5 days and then a staggering 29 days on One South. The NUM, Chris, is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and caring. I felt at all times that I was in good hands. I also cannot speak highly enough of the nursing staff on One South. I was extremely ill and the care I received was of the highest standard. They were so patient and nothing was too much trouble. There are too many of the nursing staff to thank individually but I’m incredibly grateful to all of them.

I had spinal surgery and was dreading it as I work in health and I know what it is all about and the care required. I had amazing care. Right from the start everything went well; the reception staff were helpful and kind and did what they could to help. My only criticism was going into the perioperative area to begin with. The AIN was rude, abrupt and needs to be taught how to do his job as he doesn't have a clue; his English was awful and he had problems understanding what was said to him and had to be told that I couldn't carry my bag; which anyone would be able to see. I could hardly walk and was doing so with a stick and support from my brother. That is the ONLY criticism. The other staff were fantastic. The preoperative area was well managed, the staff friendly and supportive. The post op care in recovery was extremely good. I was in significant pain when I woke up and the nurse caring for me did everything she could to make me comfortable and feel at ease. Once I was awake enough to go to the ward everything was managed smoothly and efficiently. The ward staff gathered round to get me into bed and make me comfortable. The care was of a very high standard. Throughout my stay the staff were professional, caring, helpful and did all they could to make my stay safe and comfortable. I would be happy to work alongside any of them and have any of them on my team.

Total Knee Replacement. All staff courteous, caring and responsive, from minute I stepped into the hospital til minute I left. Nursing staff amazing and couldn't ask for better. Wonderful domestic, catering and allied health staff. Hospital is professional, well run and I felt well cared for in every way.

While in hospital, all the staff were amazing, staff delivering meals, staff cleaning rooms, nurses tending to me, Drs coming to check on me, quite regularly, night staff were very kind , as to not barge in and wake you, spoke quietly and tended to you amazingly, hand over and introduction to next staff, great. Im sure I was frustrating, pushing the buzzer enough times to annoy anyone. There was not one eye roll, not one "When we are free we'll get to it" , consistently amazing staff. Thankyou soo much for your help in making my stay in hospital to be the most pleasant and relaxing, as possible, it could be. You are all amazing.. P.S the Bariatric ward.. Im sure all their wards would be the same care.. Thankyou again

Bad experience from my thyroidectomy there. Covid test nurse/receptionist didn’t bother to call me when she couldn’t find me at first and made me late 45mins for my surgery.. She told me because I was sitting in a wrong area that’s why, so… that’s it??? If the patients lost their way within their premises, they won’t try to find or to call at all, no any extra assistances exisiting there I think. I feel like I was in a super market. Such a cold-heart nurse and bad service! Never recommend or go back there again. However, Staff on ward 3 are great!

My 5 year old son had his tonsils and adenoids removed at St George Private yesterday. The whole team, from pre op, theatres and the post op ward were all fantastic. I really appreciate the care and kindness they showed my son and family. Dr Millar & Dr Jennifer Lee were amazing, as was every nurse and orderly we dealt with. Thank you team!

Had my first baby there, he had an extended stay in the special care nursery. Had a horrible experience with most of the midwives (there was one amazing Asian midwife who honestly is the only reason I am giving 2 stars), one other midwife missed his jaundice reading which the other midwife left notes for. We had to deal with a horrible senior midwife in the special care nursery who really needs to retire. I had to be readmitted and they forgot I was there - no food/ I had to continuously call to ask to be fed/ get drinks etc. I am pregnant again and will be choosing somewhere else.

Cheapest Private hospital day surgery in the city. Spent total 3 hours in multiple stiff chairs, right up until transferred to wheel chair, to still sit in preop. First bed, operating table. This despite being over 60, bad back, bad hip, bad knee. This is not done at Waratah, Prince of Wales, etc. Beds are not assigned on health of individual who has to endure chair, apparently op length, which in my opinion is irrelevant to no waiting comfort consideration. Would never do day surgery there again, despite closest to my home. Staff were nice, or it would be one star.

I've got a sinus surgery yesterday, for me as a work and holidays maker was very expensive 5300$ from my pocket.. But were the best money spent for my health. They made a great surgery. The hospital it's clean, tidy, the doctors and nurses were so gentle, they call me back even today to ask if I'm well. They were so professional. Now i feel good no pain and today I go back to work. Thank you

Excellent surgical team and ICU. Then the ward (Level 4) brought the stars down: well below par by way of clinical, aseptic procedures & protocols, assessments, empathy and at times, professionalism. Rooms were dust free but not good enough for post operative care, nor was the ‘nursing’. Definite review required to shift it up from glorified housekeeping and note-taking. This Pt was removed from harm and constant cross-contamination And the regular threat of being offered Med’s despite known, documented severe adverse reactions. Had to keep declining the persistent offer of opioids. Had to have the wherewithal to be highly vigilant ....bit difficult post significant brain surgery but the concern was so great it was disturbing . If I treated my Pt’s like this I’d eventually end up in Coroners Court. Basic protocols non-existent or ignored. I’ll definitely opt for elsewhere in future. Food was appalling and fell below the lowest expectations.

Went to visit my frail elderly mother today. My mistake living in a covid hotspot was being honest and giving my actual postcode to which I was refused entry. The fact that I've been self isolating to enable me to visit my mother incase I don't see her again meant nothing. This enforcement I understand for the health of others but I witnessed 20 people just say no I don't live in a certain area and not 1 person was asked for ID so if you live in one of those areas, just lie and you'll get in. I was advised by my mothers full time carer that her health is deteriorating at a rapid rate. The compassion and people skills of the on duty manager was disgraceful. His attitude to my mothers condition was that's just bad luck, you can't see her. All I asked for was to see a doctor to update me on her condition but that was just being a nuisance.

I gave birth in this stupid private hospital and they had no one available to give me the epidural! It wasn't an emergency or anything and they knew I was about to go into labour a few hours before I got to the hospital. They made me give birth without an epidural it was painful as hell and they didn't even feel sorry or apologise.

I initially left a negative review; however now that it would not be fair to leave the review unedited. I was a self-funded patient doing a surgery on the 5th November. I was expected to be in there for 4 days. Check-in: Process very easy, staff professional. Entire process is comfortable with the next steps clearly explained. Surgery: Once moved into this room, things moved quite quick. Things started happening very quickly; however, nurses and doctors constantly communication ensuring I remain comfortable. In the recovery room, there was always someone hovering around and although I remember very little; I do remember someone attending to me each time I put my hand up. Recovery: Nurses in south ward were brilliant. I was in my own room. Only negative component was my wife was asked to leave or pay $180 to sleep the night. It was quite late, and I did not want her to catch public transport. It was the first night I was quite upset hence the initial review. If this was explained prior; would have been ok. When I complained to the nurse (who was brilliant the whole time) – she went spoke to the manager for me who, instead of coming and talking to me, sent me a message saying pay the $180 or need to go home. For this reason, I have removed a star.

Quite professional. Very clean. As always, never enough staff. Nurses try hard to do their best. My wife survived, and that's a plus. The food they serve, well, it looked bloody awful, but that's hospital food for you. I think hospitals and pig farms must have stuck a deal with each other, because people wouldnt touch the food, so it ends up going to the pig farm.

Just home after 4 days in st George Private hospital and overall I was well looked after. Nursing staff were very attentive. My main complaint is in the food Dept. In order to recover as quickly as possible one needs nutritious food. My hot meals were lukewarm, and tasteless. Meals were served late- breakfast not till 8.30 am and some mornings not even a cuppa til then. Dinner not til almost 7 pm. Basic lukewarm soup last night was almost clear with 2 noodles floating in the bottom and absolutely tasteless. Broccoli must have been cheap as a third of my plate was covered in it - one night almost mushy then next night virtually raw. If costs are the deciding factor then leave out the alcohol choices and make a healthier menu. Am happy to discuss with hospital once I have recovered.

Ignorant, rude and disrespectful woman at the front desk.

Went to the emergency room when my wife was very sick, the doctor we saw was great and professional, the nurse however not so much. She kept dropping everything and looked as though she couldn’t put in a cannula correctly.

I have just returned home from having my gallbladder removed at st George private with Dr Francis Chu and Dr Michael Cooper. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and I was terrified of surgery. From the moment I checked in to the hospital I was given so much care and support to help me through. The staff at pre surgery ward/ waiting for surgery were nothing short of exceptional and went out of their way to calm and support me. To the staff members who cared for me in recovery- I cannot thank you enough, I felt very safe and cared for. Their words of encouragement really lifted my spirits. Dr Michael Cooper and Dr Francis Chu are simply incredible and so caring and I consider myself so blessed to have had them take care of me. To all the staff in the ward - thank you so very much for taking care of me. I’ll forever be greatful to everyone who supported me during my recent stay on 5th October.

On the 26th of August, my grandfather John went in for heart surgery. At first he felt very nervous and was quite scared but on the 27th of August he was operated on. It was a six hour surgery and he has been recovering very well. He said that the management and staff have been absolutely fantastic! They have been so helpful, kind, happy, friendly, efficient and courteous. He suggests everyone to go by Ramsey health and loved how everything has been managed with his care. Still recovering but is getting there. Thank you to St George Private Hospital for taking care of him and doing it with attitudes that go above and beyond any kindness.

I recently went to St George for a small surgery. The surgery was easy and the day went fine. However after the surgery I experienced some severe mood swings (I am talking full depressed to euforia in 5 minutes time, this is possibly from the GA) and I am trying to get some info and after care to see if there are some over the counter drugs available for me to remedy this. So far I've called 4 phone numbers and been put on hold or put through to other people that don't seem to want to help me either. I've been on hold for 30+ minutes without any results and for that reason I am deducting you lot some stars. Terrible duty of care people.

My mum just spent 5 days on Level 4 after her back operation and cannot speak highly enough of all the wonderful staff, from the registered nurses, to the uni students, to the orderlies, to the physio man, to the food ladies everyone was lovely and nice. The room was always clean and the food lovely. She was well looked after. My mum’s doctor, Dr Kohan is a wonderful and caring doctor too visiting her every day. She had a wonderful experience and well on her way to recovery. A special shout out to Patty, mum said you were the best and very very caring. Thank you xx I would like to thank the door staff at the front foyer for all their hard work as it is not easy dealing with all different people trying to enter at this difficult time. We must respect their work as they are doing their best to protect all patients and staff inside.

Hi Can someone please have a building maintenance person look at our room 326. The room is set to heater. My wife has had a c section and currently has a fever and the room set to hot does not help. The door is fully open and we have no privacy. This is our second stay here the first being 2 years ago with our first baby. The same thing happened to us 2 years ago as well till we were moved to another room as the doctor requested it as it was too hot. The nurses are trying to help but they do not deal with building maintenance. There is also a current surge of babies being born the last 2 days so please send a maintenance person cause there will be a lot of complaining people by tomorrow when the temperature reaches 30 degrees and you have rooms set to 30 degrees at night. Cheers

Hubbie came here for surgery and was treated well. Parking was not great and the reception staff were too busy for niceties. But the hospital offered a good service in the ward and the process was very efficient. Hubby did fine which was the main thing.

I had wisdom teeth removal as a day surgery in the hospital last week. Highly recommend the hospital with its amazing staff and great facilities. Nurses and anaesthetics (Dr Hamilton) are amazing and attentive. I also received a follow up call the next day to see how I was going. Very happy with the service given. Thank you everyone!

Honestly, St George Private has exceeded my already high expectations by FAR. I want to give a huge thanks to Dr. Maani and his team, and all the thoughtful and very attentive nurses on the Upper GI Surgery ward. From admission to discharge, I couldn't have had a better experience. Clean and very well maintained facilities. Kind nurses who are so very attentive to your needs. I felt 110% safe and relaxed in their hands. I was closely monitored and consoled when I became anxious about my surgery and recovery. Well done St George Private, you really have great staff who need to be appreciated ten fold!

My whole experience was positive. This is a hospital I'm talking about! All the staff were caring, efficient and friendly and responsive to my specific needs. The food was exceptional - delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented ( want the recipes!) - not like my previous experience of hospital food.

I felt well taken care of during my procedure. Everything before and after that was lacking however. Especially the billing department was a pain to deal with. Having to follow up several times just to get a few simple documents. Refusing to directly deal with my foreign travel insurance. Inattentive nurses in recovery.
