They completely revamped their menu for the worse, only offering a fraction of what they used to. Wraps, salads, and multiple different types of burgers are gone. This used to be one of my favorite places for a quick eat, but won't be coming back unless they bring back their old menu.

Beef is really good. The only concern is that the portion git a lot smaller. They got rid of the little al and shrunk the regular. It has been a while since I was there, overall 4 regular beefs with 4 small fries came in just under $50.

Al's has really gone down hill. They have made the beef sandwiches smaller in both size and amount of meat. Where once a regular beef could be a meal , it's more of a snack. They have also gone up in price and charge you not only for the cheese but the giardinera on the sandwiches. My husband and I have been faithful Al's Beef customers for many years, but we will never go back.

I was out in the burbs and hangry and I happened to drive by this place. I'd been to the Al's downtown and was hoping for the same great food and this one did not disappoint! The meal came out fast, the fries were hot and the beef was spot on. I was about to take it to go but was happy I sat down as a dipped beef is the least car-friendly food around!

Beef is well seasoned and very tender. The hand cut fries are perfectly cooked although could use just a dash of salt. The cheddar cheese fries were delicious and definitely can be eaten as a meal or certainly enough to be shared by 2 or 3 people. Always a good meal!

Best beef sandwich you can find And the only beef sandwich I will eat. Use to go to both the Tinley and Orland locations but when Orland closed this became the only one in the area. Since that happened years ago the service has only improved. If anyone is looking for a beef sandwich, forget EVERYWHERE else and just find an Al's. I typically get the loaded cheese fries but just went with the regular cheese fry this time. The "small" keeps getting bigger!

Next to the Chicago style pizza and hot dog, the next most iconic food item in town would have to be the Italian beef sandwich and no place serves up the iconic dish better than Al's. Savory, filling, and most importantly, extremely messy, it's the classic good "bad" sandwich. Don't forget to add their classic giadiniera and grab extra napkins!

A classic for my childhood! Al's still lives up to the memories. The beef sandwiches are incredible and their recent specialization in entree sized fries with various toppings like beef or chili are excellent. Menu is a little bit smaller than I remember, but it still has everything you need. Definitely worth a visit for those who like beef. Little bit on the pricier side, but worth it

I checked this place out. Typical American fast food. Very nice service. I took Al's old Chicago chopped salad. Light lunch style lettuce. It was tasty. Cheap, clean, fast. Next time I will pop in to try famous Chicago’s #1 Italian Beef.

Italian beef is very authentic and some would argue the original Italian beef. I have been here a few times and have been happy with the beef. Get it dipped with hot or sweet peppers you won't be disappointed. Fresh cutt fries are good as well.

Taste the same as 30 yrs ago. A little chinch on the beef was disappointing. We go up there at least once a month. Last 3 times it's been very light on the meat

Driving cross country and missed the Italian beef sandwiches I grew up on. Picked up 2 italian beef jumbo sandwiches and 1 Chicago style polish dog to go. Paid extra for provolone cheese, but received no cheese on both sandwiches. And the meat amount was similar to a regular. So disappointed.

One of my go to places anytime I am in the area. Food is always fresh and delicious. I personally get the Italian sausage with hot jardinera, or a grilled chicken sandwich. Just as importantly, Als has delicious fresh cut fries, some of the best fries you will find anywhere! Try it, you won't be disappointed

I always get a big beef with cheddar no peppers. Hands down truly is the best beef in Chicago. Seasoned taste just right. Still has an authentic taste.

Although "Italian Beef" is literally in the name, I absolutely love their burgers! Cooked per order on an open flame. Juicy, delicious, with that amazing char broiled taste. Don't get me wrong, their beef sandwich is very good and always a solid choice, but I'm a burger fan when I come here. They did change the bun in recent years. I did prefer the previous. But if you've never been, it's all the same. Now let's talk french fries, A+! The kind of fries that have the potato skin along one edge. Excellent! In addition, they have delicious cups of cheese. The service is always great. A very happy staff who enjoys what they do and that joy carries over into the food. Remember, "made per order," so expect to wait, but always worth it.

My son and I absolutely loved our sandwiches! We just got the original Italian beef with provolone and hot pepper. It was amazing and we can’t wait to go back. Excellent customer service!

The seasoning of the beef and au jus is absolutely perfect!! Was so good...will definitely go into my "treat" rotation☺️

Food is good as usual. The people were nice and helpful. The only complaint is that they cheaped out on the lid for the drinks. They are so thin and don't stay on that I was almost wearing several drinks. Please fix this.

My wife and I were pleased to learn there was an Al's right near our hotel. We stopped in and got an Italian beef sandwich and an Italian sausage. We split both. The Italian sausage was the best I've ever had. Hands down. It was seasoned so perfectly, heated to perfection. It had a good snap and a hint of spiciness. The Italian beef... unbeatable. It was tender, moist, flavorful, and craveable. The bread also held up very well to the dip in the jus. I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone.

The best place to get an authentic Italian beef sandwich! There is no comparison, for it is way better than Portillos, hands down. The sandwich is dipped into a delicious broth before it is wrapped and handed to you or you can ask for the sandwich dry and get the broth on the side for your own dipping pleasure. When you open the wrapper, you begin to drool and can smell the delicousness of the sandwich. The first bite is heavenly. You can add hot or sweet peppers (hot is the way to go) or go without. For sure we will be back, as this is another must stop when we are in the area. Highly recommend!

Talk about rip off, don't waste the money. I usually go to Taylor Street for Al's, but figured why not stay local. Ordered a big combo with 50%more beef. Talk about rip off. Paid $3 more and barely has any beef on it. I hate to see what the regular looks like. I get more from Portillios, and it isn't as expensive. Save your money or eat Portillos.

I stayed in Tinley Park with my bf for 3 nights, and on the last night we ate at Al’s. I got the Regular Beef, Dipped, Hot and Sweet. And it was DIVINE. We liked it so much, we stopped again on our way out of IL at 10:30 a.m. when their doors opened. It was just as good the second time. I did a lot while visiting IL, but I think I’ll miss Al’s Beef most of all.

For the first time going to Al's beef in Tinley Park was not up to expectations of the way they portray there beef sandwiches which was nothing to exciting about there sandwiches, Everything was extra which I think peppers and sweet peppers should come on it with no extra charge. It's up to you to see for yourself and I will not be going back .Going to real beef restaurant .Papino's or 91st and western Vienna restaurant

Love Al's Italian Beef! It's preparation, spices, and, the quality of the bread which can take a good dipping, and not melt away...the meat, savory and delicious, the peppers, a secret blend of herbs and spices....and the best thing...when I dine in, if I want to get a half refill on my drink, I do it. Just a little to wash it all down....nothing crazy. Did I mention the fries with the skin on 'em? These ain't no processed fries...! A potato, a slicer, hot oil, cooked the exact right amount of time, drained, salted and served....A no-brainer! Al's is the #1 Italian Beef! Get there!

This is an authentic Chicago classic restaurant! If you are looking for real deal Italian Beef sandwich’s Al’s is the place to go. And this location happens to be right of I-80 and Harlem exit, so really easy access. I had my usual regular Italian beef dipped with their fresh cut fries. Awesome as usual!

Yes, yes and yes. I used to live in IL and now everything we come back, we stop by and take some Al's beef home with us. 😋 Yummy..see you soon. Great service, good eats, short wait.

Been eating here regularly for the past few years. The Italian Beef has a unique flavor (which I love) when compared to a Portillo's or Pop's, so you might love it out hate it. Personally, I get it dipped, sweet peppers, and provolone. The Combo beef and sausage is good too if you want to mix it up. The Maxwell Polish is fantastic, way better than the Portillo's up Harlem. Fresh cut fries are my favorite, great with cheese or ketchup. Overall, I've never had a bad experience with the food. Pro tip: avoid calling in your order or ordering online. They don't prep your food until you arrive anyway, so just order in person. You'll get it faster too. I guess they're just old school ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
