The owner of this farm is very “smart”, hiring a group of people helping to pick the cherries for free. You as the customer pay $5 for the entry of picking your own cherry cost $30 per Kg much more expensive than local super market, and most important you are not allowed to eat in the farm which means free workforce. They won’t tell you all these rules before getting you pay the entry free and suddenly you will find there are a couple of farm staffs do nothing but just stand there watching your back and keep reminding you not to eat. Won’t come back again, there are many much better farms around this area.

Booked online but it was not busy Sunday at 11am. Very friendly and helpful service. Large orchard with a variety of stone fruit trees loaded with ripe fruit for picking. There were several varieties of plums available , as well as peaches, nectarines and the last of the apricots. Very easy to navigate, and lots of fruit to pick. There are ladders available (if needed). Good fun outing. Will make some crumble and some compote when I get home! Highly recommended.

Love this place! Loads of space in the car park and good signage. As you walk up they have a little stall on the left which have the pre-picked fruit. They have a selection of fruit to pick which includes white cherries and red cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, jam apricots and selection of some other berries. They also sell jam and honey for a very good and reasonable price. Staff are very friendly. They charge $5 per person for entry fee and then you pay for what you pick. I can’t say this enough. STAFF ARE SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. We didn’t really know which cherries to pick and the staff taught us the difference between ripe and unripe cherries and how to pick the best ones. They told us that keeping the stems on make them last longer which is so good to know. They also gave us a ladder to help us pick from the higher places and moved us around. I really encourage everyone to support this business and to go here. Unfortunately, they told us that they lost a big amount of there cherries stock this year because of the rain fall so let’s all make sure to support them 10 fold next year!

Visited here for a number of times, we enjoyed time here. Very accommodating despite arriving early to the session. This time we felt the price gone up, compared to the last time, this maybe is due to inflation? End of season?the type of apple? $8/kg for an apple is expensive after paying 5 dollars entry fee per person. Shop across the road were selling pre picked fruits for $2.99/kg.

Pretty meh experience. Hardly took 15 minutes to do the "apple picking". When I went, all the available apple trees had been cleaned off good apples. Sadly there was a lot of wastage too (see photo). Some people would just pluck an apple and then when they see that it wasn't perfect, would just throw it away. Only when I was about to leave they removed the nets off another tree and I plucked a few good apples. The staff were very cordial and warm. But the experience wasn't something memorable to be honest.

Had the pleasure of visiting the orchard for apple picking, and I must say that overall, it was a good experience. The orchard was nestled in a beautiful countryside location in Bacchus Marsh, and the greenery was simply stunning. The orchard was well-maintained and it was evident that the staff took pride in ensuring that the apple trees were healthy and fruitful. Red and green apples were available available for picking. Both varieties were in abundance. The apples were ripe and delicious, and it was a lot of fun to wander through the rows of trees, hand-selecting the perfect apples to take home. That being said, I must admit that the price of the apples was a bit steep (onsidering entry fee and price per kg). While I understand that orchard owners need to make a profit, the cost of the apples felt a little exorbitant. Also please consider some ways on minimizing the wastages as lots of apples were lying on the ground. Overall, I would still strongly recommend this orchard for anyone looking for a fun day out with family or friends. The nature was beautiful, the apples were delicious, and the experience was a memorable one.

The first cherry farm was always busy so we decided to go this place a try. It's located 1.5km away from the naturipe farms. This place is alot less busier. There is lots of cherry but when you look closer alot of them have gone bad or there is chemical on them. In general it is a okay place to go pick cherry if you don't like crowded areas. Entry for adult is $5 and kids is for free.

Been there once and I’d recommend this place in terms of easy access and bit organised than other places I’ve been to. Parking spots are limited so going early hrs (10am) helped during holidays time. Cherry is expensive so ensure you pick the amount you are going to carry. Overall good short trip from Melbourne.

Despite the gloomy weather when we visited, we had a fantastic time. There were more than enough apples to pick and a variety, too. There was Fuji, Yellow delicious, Red delicious, and granny smith. Everyone ended up enjoying the yellow delicious, which I originally came to pick. Let s support our local farmers.

We have a wonderful experience at Payne’s Orchard. Cherry are sweet, juicy and so yummy. Staffs are so friendly. Its a must go cherry farm in Bacchus Mars. We have been to 5,6 cherry farms before but no where else compared with Payne’s Orchard. We plan to come back with friends and family very soon ❤️❤️❤️.

The orchard is extremely nice with plenty of fruit varieties during different seasons of the year, it is very near to the airport (for those international travellers) , one doesn't need to go far to Yarra Valley for a good pick of own fruits. I met the boss , Kim , extremely friendly and entrance fees are cheap. I will definitely go regularly to pick own fresh fruits . I particularly love their Golden Delicious Apples which hardly found in local fruits stores

We went cherry picking in the third week of December 2022. Cherries were in plenty. You are not allowed to eat only pick and then pay according to weight. Entry fee is only $5 . Other places with higher entry fees ($15-18) allow eating as much you want.

Fresh cherries! Pick your own and eat as much as you can. Bring home a bucket of cherries at low low price per kilo. It's really a great experience. Go and try...

Awesome place but a little bit crowded during season time. Helpful staff

I think you have to position your business as an amusement park, not as an orchard. This will make people stop whinging about high prices, long queues, tough rules and bad service. This is normal for amusement parks. And the people who just dropped by for the fresh fruits won't get confused.

We had a great experience here. They have a lot of fruits and especially a new kind of plum, it looks like a grape but its taste is very sweet, that's what I would recommend. Moreover, the apple juice they made was really delicious, the very kind boss who gave us a bottle.
