Amazing place for cat lovers, the cats are really cute and friendly. Calm ambience and the cats all seemed well looked after. They are punctual with the timing. However, the upstairs area smelled of cat pee, I do hope this aspect is taken into consideration and followed up for the health and safety of the cats and the visitors. I would recommend purchasing the offer with cat treats because the cats will flock to the people with food.

Great location for a unique outing. You must book ahead to avoid disappointment. Cats are only interested in the food so buy the package with food included. There’s no human food but you can get a cold drink or cuppa in a takeaway cup. Kids had a blast. We booked 1.5 hours and left just after an hour ish. Upstairs had fresh air which was great. Downstairs is cozy but the air is all cat. The bathroom needs a really good clean. Apart from that the kids loved it.

Truly the most wonderful place on Earth. The cats are so cute and very well looked after. Definitely recommend going for a 2 hour session as time passes by so quickly when you're playing with the cats. The staff are really lovely too and the place is always so clean.

We've been to many Cat Cafe's in Asia, and this one doesn't disappoint! Two floors, connected for the cats with a tunnel so they can roam freely, coupled with the usual treats you can buy for them! Plenty of toys already freely available so you can just pick a toy and have fun ! Booked for an hour and still wasn't enough!

Really great experience, best in Australia (and I've been to cat cafes in America, France, Italy, Japan and Austria). Cats re well cared for and very affectionate. Some are a little naughty and try to steal your pet treats (get the per treats, the cats go wild for them). You must book online in advance. Coffee and the chocolate chip cookie were both really nice. Highly recommend the cat cafe melbourne 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ Went back 2 days later, bit less busy on a weekday, absolutely love this place

Great concept for cat lovers. The cats here are more friendly than our cat at home! 😳 they are chilled, some have they favourite spots and are happy to be patted. They can bite & fight each other as well. Covid safety plan is followed, we checked in, sanitised and had to read the rules of entry. We brought the hourly pass with a drink and cookie plus we brought treats for the cats. A must visit, awesome location on Guildford Lane we will definitely be back!

This place is very relaxing and is great therapy. You can just sit around patting cats. Getting the bundle that includes treats is possibly the best option, as the cats love it and will come cuddle up to you.

Perfect place for cat lovers or just to destress. With a cute selection of cats to pet, we are able to explore both levels and feed them with some cat treats. We recommend getting the 1.5 hours + cat treats + drink package, because some of these cats are very “transactional” ( would only come and go for treats ) 😆. Panda the cat was very loving and gentle, loves to curl up on your lap and enjoys lots of petting. 10/10 experience.

The kids and I loved patting the beautiful and friendly cats. Loved the different spaces with upstairs and downstairs to explore. Lovely old bluestone building and lots of pretty things in the store. The only challenge was the size of the entrance trying to handle the changeover from one time slot to the next. Too many people in a tight space...wait outside instead perhaps.

Amazing experience and the highlight of our Melbourne trip. Visiting this Cat Cafe made us reminisce of our times in Japan visiting cat cafes and the Melbourne one didn't disappoint. There were many beautiful cats and it is a very relaxing atmosphere for both cats and visitors alike. We saw a hairless sphinx cat, a flat faced cat with a moustache, a one-eyed (slightly grumpy and very gorgeous) cat and many more. Recommend: Buy the packs where you get kitty biscuits and kitty treats. The cats will swarm all over you (for the treats of course!) but you will still be able to stare loving at their cute paws and have a little snuggle. We will definitely be back again

Cat Cafe Melbourne is a lovely place and I would definitely recommend the visit! This cafe has two rooms, an upstairs and a downstairs, with a cat door and cat stairs on the wall for the residents to go between. Entry permits access to both rooms, downstairs was more quiet and relaxed while upstairs was a more traditional cafe environment. Entry price includes a free hot or cold drink. You can also buy cat treats for the cats which they are very fond of! The cats were very happy and playful, and can easily retreat away from people if they decide to. The staff were lovely and the gift shop is worth a look too.

We loved it! Our family loved spending time with lots of beautiful cats here. The cats slept if they wanted, the cats played if they wanted ? it's a great way to take care of these rescued cats. It's an amazing place to be and makes you soooo relaxed after seeing the kittens. Great experience!!! The reception cats also make you feel welcomed ❤️

Really friendly staff! Book few days before arrival it's super busy place. If you try going without booking, they won't let you in because it will be booked out. Toilet in the reception area near the back of merchandise. Cat Cafe was great! lot's of cats. Only problem is that you don't get much human food but understandable because the cats get so hungry. You can order cold and hot drinks and Sweet biscuits for Food and drink. Recommend to not wear your best clothing if you buy cat food. it goes everywhere. Long pants and long sleeve clothes are good to avoid cat's accidentally scratching. It was super fun and all the cat's are friendly. they have cat names on the walls to know which cat's which. and Lots of cat merchandise for humans and cats! They dont allow cat food from other places if you bring it. if you don't buy cat food, the cats wont go to you so I suggest to buy cat food at reception. there's a upstairs room and downstairs room past reception, you can go up and down both and chairs for humans to sit on. great fun place! 5 Stars!

I'm a cat cafe fanatic and have been to several cat cafe's around the world. This cat cafe has the potential to be the best one, however it appears they don't feed the cats, so the cats only sit with you if you have food. If you buy the 'paste' the cats will bite/ scratch and jostle for a mouthful. It was a bit scary for some patrons and we saw several children getting overwhelmed. Overall it was an experience. The cats ARE adorable. 🐈

This place is absolutely for people who understand cats. If you go in not expecting to pat the cats and not to feed them, as cats have feelings themselves, you'll have a great time. Staff are friendly and helpful. Down stairs is dim, quiet, and peaceful but upstairs is very well lit, had music playing, chairs and tables, windows, and a tablet you can use to search for cats you can adopt yourself. Both areas are very nice. Nina, Maple, Mackerel, Jack and Nova were especially friendly. Jack and Nova were sleeping on other guests but they deserve credit none the less. Cinnamon refused all dry food and chose violence when wet food was offered. Hold wet food low to the ground and close to Cinnamon if you want to feed her. Cinnamon can tell if the container or spoon contain more food and will target what contains more. Cinnamon can and likely will jump on your arm and/or pull it down with her claws. There was a cat similar in appearance to cinnamon but I couldn't find them on the website. It is a true feline experience.

One of the best cat cafés I have been to! The place is really big and clean, and the cats have plenty of room to play. The cats are all really friendly, and they love the cat treats! There were so many different breeds of cat, a wider variety than I have seen at other cat cafes in Melbourne. The entry is pretty cheap, I recommend getting cat treats as otherwise the cats may ignore you. I wish they had more vegan options as they had no soy milk available, and the cookies were not vegan friendly, but you don't really come here for the food anyway. I 1000% recommend this to any cat lover - I will definitely be coming back.

Lovely calm activity well suited to older children, teens, and adults. Beautiful saunter through a 2 storey cat paradise with a wide range of cuddly, playful, and more characterful cats. All cats are well cared for and although some were a bit shy or wanted some space, all were friendly and non aggressive.

Cat Cafe Melbourne was a surprising good experience, very relaxing to sit down and just enjoy the cats. Be warned if you do get the cat treats you will be the cats best friend. It's not a bad way to spend a hour or so in the afternoon if you need to just relax.

Great place to spend an hour or so! Lots of very sweet cats. Some cats are all over you for the food and others are more polite and wait their turn. All adorable! Two floors to enjoy the company of the cats as you feed them, play with them and relax with a coffee and cookie if ordered (the cookie was great!).

Nice layout. Upstairs is bigger than the downstairs with more seats and better lighting. Cats are gorgeous and swarm when you bring the food out. A couple of claws do come out as they are all keen to eat. Recommend feeding cats to the side rather than feeding as a group. Cookie was really nice, drinks can be improved.

Great and fun experience!! Cats are really friendly and love the treats. Recommended to get the package with cat treats for maximum interaction with the cats. Level 1 is cosy and level 2 is a bigger area for you to play with the cats. They all have funny personalities 😂

Nice cosy place where you get to pet and spend time with cats. There are many and they are so cute, worth the money, it was $12 when I went but may be changed by now. They have a cute menu with selection of drinks and small cakes and many opportunities to take photos. Highly recommend to give this place a visit if you're in Melbourne and you love cats and animals!

This is more of a cat adoption place than a cafe. If you're planning on going, I would recommend making a reservation online first. If you don't, you will run the risk of not being able to enter. The cats seem happy and relaxed.

Very peaceful environment. The cats are very friendly, they choose their human, some people are just not cat persons. We had been chosen by Nova (naked cat). It's so nice to see just how well the cats are looked after and loved. Beautiful, happy cats with a perfect cat friendly environment, relaxing atmosphere, great tea and merchandise. Lovely staff, lovely cats :)

so many cats!!! very spacious with lots of places to sit on couches/chairs and on the floor, there are two levels which you are free to go up and down as you wish (there is a special stairway for the cats to go between the levels too). staff are very friendly and the cats seem to love them too. there is a present urine smell downstairs but i suppose that’s inevitable when there’s so many cats. definitely recommend paying the few extra dollars for the cat treats, i lured a cat into my lap with treats and he stayed there for a while

We (10yo and parents) had a wonderful time - and my wife doesn't really like cats. We spent an hour (which is plenty) and met some absolutely lovely cats - staff were great, it never felt too crowded or busy, and Panda is just lovely

After reading some of the negative reviews about no coffee machine (the place is called a cafe), the smell of cat pee (amongst the smell of an aroma defuser of some type) and cats not being particularly friendly (they’re rescue cats), I would rather donate my time at the animal shelter. Although, I will give the place one star for looking after vulnerable cats ??

  • 2/5 Benjamin C. 4 years ago on Google
It's got cats and.... You can eat food there (it's the only one around) But I like eating food whilst not playing with cats honestly. Plus the food, coffee and sweets ain't too notable neither are the cats. Go to a shelter, eat and coffee before hand... Better

  • 3/5 Cate S. 4 years ago on Google
My session at the cafe lasted an hour and cost $18, with a hot drink and muffin included. It was late in the afternoon and most of the cats didn't want to interact much anymore. It might be better to go earlier in the day, or if you are serious about adopting one of the cats. However, there were lots of comfortable seats available and the chai latte and choc chip muffin were good. One or two of the little cats might want you to share it with them though ? It's also advisable to book ahead.

It’s very crowded so the cats are, understandably, not very interested in interacting with you.

  • 3/5 Rebecca S. 2 years ago on Google
Overall an interesting experience. As a cat owner I understand the nature of cats, they can be antisocial especially after hours of human interaction. Some of the cats were aggressive towards us when we tried to pat them. I assume by 2pm they had enough? The cats seemed hungry and eager to eat the cat food we received on entry. It was very cold, especially upstairs. Being cold made the experience unpleasant because I couldn’t really relax. My kids had a great time. An hour is definitely enough (we booked 1.5hrs).

Absolutely lovely experience. Had so much fun at the cat cafe, I also recommend going online and booking in advance as the school holiday day I went it was quite busy. While you wait for entrance, you get to be surrounded by all the amazing cat merchandise you could want and the reception cats!!! Once you get in, the cats and kittens!!!  The cats all seemed happy, healthy and very well cared. My time here was incredibly relaxing. I think it's important to remember that the cats are still cats, they'll do as they please and want attention when they demand it and will otherwise ignore you. Will definitely visit again and for longer next time.

I've been here many times and I am always impressed by the venue & it's lovely cats. They do their best with the rules but sometimes you get loud children & adults that are frustrating to be around. For that reason it's best that you attend on a weekday outside of school holidays :))

I went there for an hour for my friends birthday, and I must say the cats are absolutely adorable. We didn’t order any drinks but the experience was just as wonderful. Some cats were more affectionate than others and one cat scratched someone, but other than that they were all quite sweet. I didn’t find out until later on during the session that there were cat toys in the corner, but I recommend picking up any stick (especially those with feathers, even if it’s a little bit chewed off) and play with the cats.
