😠 I think everyone at this clinic is extremely kind and supportive. However I incurred retained pregnancy product and a subsequent infection. I came in for an aftercare appointment a month later and the clinic only had an external ultrasound which showed nothing. I was still feeling unwell and booked... I think everyone at this clinic is extremely kind and supportive. However I incurred retained pregnancy product and a subsequent infection. I came in for an aftercare appointment a month later and the clinic only had an external ultrasound which showed nothing. I was still feeling unwell and booked an internal ultrasound via IMED and a blood test which both confirmed retained pregnancy product. I cannot stress how important it is to acquire an internal ultrasound. Please put more funding into this clinic. It is the difference in seeing if the procedure is complete or not and it is crucial especially in aftercare.

Receptionist is extremely cold and unwelcoming. Should be working in a bank, not an abortion clinic. Terrible for women going through an extremely vulnerable time and the first thing you are greeted with is a miserable attitude. The service is not accommodating of those who don't have Medicare, charging $990 for a surgical procedure. Not many options for women in Melbourne unfortunately. Doctor Sam was kind and Nurse Eleanor and the nurses in the recovery room were lovely.

I’m shocked that this facility has a low rating after walking out of the Melbourne fertility control clinic due a horrendous experience. I was supporting someone in a very scared and venerable state. We went to MSI to make an inquiry and see if it was anymore comfortable than FCC. Upon entering it was instantly a massive improvement. We were addressed by a wonderful and informative nurse in a private room. Spoken to with respect, empathy and dignity. The facility was warm, they provided information booklets, several staff were involved and introduced themselves accordingly. I felt that the person I was supporting was being cared for and safe. I could see the instant relief on their face when they had been seen by one of the nurses. The facility is clean, welcoming, warm and professional. Thank you for being so accomodating and for making a difficult and sensitive procedure safe and less traumatic.

After reading so many negative reviews, i was bit hesitant to attend there at first. I WAS SO WRONG - the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. The nurses and doctors were empathetic, open and friendly. Adequate information was provided prior to the procedure. Plenty of contraceptives option to choose from, but they went through each and explained well. Everything went absolutely smooth and i am grateful towards all the clinical team. I highly recommend this place.

I had and still having like a nightmares with this service! I choose teleabortion because on the website it says how fast and easy it is. Today is 16 day since I paid. I’m still waiting for my pills. Ladies in a call centre are absolutely useless!!!! Telling me everytime different things! They don’t know anything! PLEASE, if you are in the same situation choose different clinic and service! Marie Stops, shame on you! You are carrying only about money!

This review is for the nurses and dr Johan who took care of me thank you so much I got my implants off my arm! And I am a person so can’t even get a needle 💉 it freaks me the team was so amazing the way they managed me and dint rush to complete the procedure . Coming to the receptionist she was super rude ! She needs some training how to be nice with the patients. The waiting room is so small and tight no privacy ! They should renovate the clinic too small and very old ! Rest 5 ⭐️to the amazing team of Dr and nurses Thnk u

I drove 5 hours to have my procedure at this specific clinic as they were the soonest i could get into. The staff were amazing! Doctor was informative. Recovery nurses beautiful! Front desk lady could have been a little bit friendlier but id put that down to being NYE day and the clinic being absolutely packed! Only down fall is wait time, so make sure you have a book/ or your phone super charged. Procedure itself was done within 10mins. I felt comfortable and loved the fact that they offered all other checks while under sedation including contraception options.

I could not recommend Marie Stopes St Kilda clinic enough. From the booking all the way to being discharged I have never felt more comfortable. Booking was a breeze, received a call the afternoon of when I had enquired and got a date a week after. Upon arrival, the wait time was extremely fast which made the process less stressful. The nurses and doctor were extremely accomodating, ensuring all my questions and concerns were met with ease. The surgery was quick and efficient. Thankyou to everyone for making this the best experience possible.

Initially due to the online reviews I did not want to go to Marie Stopes. I went to my Dr to find the best way to get a copper IUD and she highly recommended Marie Stopes. I told her my concerns due to the online reviews. The Dr was surprised as all her patients she had sent there only had good things to say. I decided to trust my dr based on her first hand experience and why I decided to leave my personal review today for others who are considering Marie Stopes. I highly recommend Marie Stopes for copper IUD placement. I spoke to them on the phone twice prior to making an appointment. The customer service was very attentive, kind, soft spoken and made time to answer all my questions. They made me feel like I was the only person they had spoken to all day. On the day of the appointment I arrived very early before they had opened. They still let me in and the receptionist was like the people I had spoken to on the phone. Kind, gentle and caring. The process was very clear between interviews with the nurse and dr, then in procedure. Every step of the process was made clear and each contact felt very personal to my needs. I was very nervous going into this procedure but the clinic was very good at ensuring I was in professional hands. I highly recommend considering Marie Stopes.

I was worried at first with the low rating, but the nurses and doctors were all amazing ! No complaints at all ! They were very accomodating and informative, spoke clearly and slowly, and repeated information if required to make sure I understood everything. The nurses had always checked up on me every now and then, even stopped by for small chats :) Loved the nurses and doctors.

After a very painful procedure and recovery I could not thank the nurses enough for how kind they were. My body reacted in a very painful way which was unlucky but the nurses were so understanding and kept me there for as long as I needed! Thank you so much ladies especially to Sheila who gave me a follow up call to see how I was doing. Would highly recommend if you want a comforting experience and are nervous about anything, they will make you feel completely at ease

Recovery nurses were spectacular, in particular Ashlee. I found Dr Xu quite difficult to understand and he spoke very quickly. The receptionist was also very cold and unwelcoming when I arrived. Made me feel uncomfortable. Thanks to the lovely nurses as I was being put to sleep too, they were very comforting and soothing.

I can't fault my experience. Everyone from the moment I walked in the door was so kind and professional. Your receptionist was clear and concise about filling out information forms and happy to help with everything. The admissions nurse gave clear information and allowed me the time and opportunity to ask any questions I needed to. My doctor also gave clear information about how the surgery worked and the risks involved, and took the time to ensure I properly understood everything from how the surgery was performed to aftercare and any risks involved. The nursing staff in the theatre were extremely caring and made sure to hold my hand and distract me when I informed them I had a phobia of needles. The anethesitician was very clear about how the procedure worked and did his best to find veins that would work (mine don't show easily and have been tricky to work with in the past). The recovery nurses were extremely attentive, explained all of my pain relief options and ensured I was comfortable before discharging me home. Overall extremely happy with my experience and would highly recommend MSI St Kilda 😊

6 months on, I am still dealing with adverse effects from my surgical abortion. A procedure they heavily convince you is extremely low risk, only “1% of people will experience xyz adverse problems”, they provide a whole pamphlet convincing you how easy and low risk it is. I am not the only one who had a horrible experience at Marie stopes. I have had 2 surgical abortions here, both I experience extreme and prolonged bleeding. From the second one which I was NOT put under for, I had extreme bleeding for 6+ weeks, ended up in ER with servere cramps, which I then passed a fleshy mass the next day 4cm in length and 2cm width. I now have irregular periods sometimes only 1.5 weeks inbetween period heavier than they ever have been. I am not the only one I know who has experience such horrible service and reactions from Marie Stopes. Think twice before booking in here.

Given my expectations, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Being in such a vulnerable position going in, the nurses certainly make you feel at ease and in control. I found the staff to be professional and everything was explained thoroughly. The aftercare was comfortable and the nurses consistently checked in to ensure I was doing ok - they made me tea and provided biscuits and anything else I needed. They ensured I left feeling fine and I appreciate it so much :)

I could not fault my time at MSI from start to finish, the staff were absolutely fantastic, supportive and so caring. There was minimal wait time which made the experience less stressful. Given the circumstances, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Please don’t go here! I had my appointments changed twice within five days then got declined when you told me the wrong information

I felt really well taken care of by all the staff here, everything was very clearly explained, and the option of getting an IUD while there was really helpful. I can't speak highly enough of the staff, they were all so compassionate and lovely, and I got a call back after a week to make sure everything had been going well for me. Plus, the post-procedure Tim Tam's were the cherry on top ☺️

Had a lovely experience. Staff were all super nice, especially Doctor Heidi; one of the female nurses that held my hand during the procedure and the after care staff (forgot their names sadly). Appreciated their lightheartedness and the music in the OR!

Had an awful experience here having my IUD removed and replaced, and would not wish it upon any other woman. I felt like I was a car being repaired rather than a person undergoing a very painful and invasive procedure. I didn't feel cared for or listened to by the doctor carrying out the procedure.

Terrible company! I had my vasectomy booked in. Took 3 days off work for recovery as I have a physical job, only to be told a week before that it had to be re scheduled to another date. This happened twice before I finally canceled the vasectomy and went elsewhere. I was told I would get my deposit back multiple times and have never received anything. Stay away

I had to get a copper IUD inserted as a form of long-term + emergency contraception and due to COVID-19 I did not have an option for sedation which I would have rather preferred. However, I found that literally everyone who works here is beyond pleasant and kind. This made my uncomfortable insertion experience much better no doubt. I was treated with respect, every question I had was answered with great understanding and I was comforted very well when I was crying in fear during the procedure loll! The procedure itself didn't even hurt that much (I do understand that everyone is different, this was just my experience), but the anticipation is definitely what terrified me into the tears and the nurses dealt with my crying mess very well haha so thank you so much for that! They walked me through every step and told me what they were going to do each time, they were very honest about what I might feel during the procedure too which is greatly appreciated! Made me feel so comfortable even when I physically was not. The price is also very reasonable in regards to services like this, I paid about $305 for my copper IUD with no sedation. But I recommend checking their website for more info regarding price as your circumstances may be different to mine! The customer service Marie Stopes provides is honestly of the highest quality and it saddens me to see the current reviews at a measly 3.3 stars. They should really be at a straight 5. Everything went very well and I'll definitely be coming back for any other procedures needed! Thank you all again!

-Easy to book, difficult to change or cancel (currently been on hold for over 50 mins just to cancel an appointment ?? and still waiting... and will not answer my emails... yesterday was on hold for over 40 mins and had to hang up and go back to work, used my entire lunch break) -Takes up to 30 days to get your booking fee refunded (told me because they are very busy with many requests for refunds... I can see why now that I have been there and met their receptionists) -Arrived to find a man with a pram and baby right at the front door... lucky I wasn't there for an abortion -Entered and found I was inside a very tiny, stuffy, shabby/rundown waiting room with 3 rows of chairs placed extremely close together, almost absurdly so, with no room between yourself and the next person and in this tiny space with quite a few men waiting in there too... really uncomfortable - if I was there for an abortion I would have walked back out -Not allowed to have a male support person come inside with you but have to sit in a waiting room with several men (who were either patients or support people...) ?? -Reception/admin were atrocious - so, so cold, no smiles, no greeting, no warmth, and actually... the way they spoke to me was awful and I felt humiliated (for example, loudly demanding..yes demanding not asking.. I "provide a urine sample" in front of the entire waiting room (including men!), and very quick to quite harshly say "well, your appointment won't go ahead today then" when I tried to quietly/discreetly explain that I was so sorry but wasn't told I would need to provide urine and had literally just gone to the bathroom, had been fasting with no water since the night before so just physically could not do it at that moment. YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR RECEPTIONISTS (are they nurses or admin? do they hate their job or cop abuse from patients or something? something is really wrong there - there are multiple reviews saying similar things spanning back 6 years!) -I was told I needed to arrive at 7:15 and that I would be there for 5 to 6 hours and my support person could not come in any earlier... so at around 9am when I was supposedly about to go in for my procedure, I thought I would double check with the nurse what time I should be picked up and was told probably around 10AM!!! My support person was 2 hours away with no car, coming by train for a 1-2pm pick up... ?!?! ... they said oh that's fine you can wait here as long as you like - yeah thanks, but I really don't want to wait 3 to 4 extra hours at this place for no reason!! and my support person took the time off work unnecessarily (they could have been back in time to start their shift at work with a 10am pick up) -The nurse was lovely, I feel bad she had to deal with my reaction to my procedure being cancelled (I could barely speak and had to just walk out silently without saying goodbye to her, as I was feeling so distressed, worried I was going to completely lose it and start sobbing... which I did, as soon as I got outside). She was the only part of this whole thing that was positive. Sorry I didn't remember her name and if she read this - thank you, thank you so much for your kindness, patience and professionalism. -Info given over phone when I booked was confusing and unclear (even after I attempted to clarify several times...) which ultimately lead to my appointment being cancelled - extremely upsetting, financially difficult for me (took days off work, had to stay nearby in accommodation as I am not local, support person took day off work, etc.) -I would not recommend this place to anyone and I would certainly never attend here for an abortion based on the waiting room and receptionist alone.
