Me and my family drove down to visit family. We came from N.C. On this past Saturday we decided to visit the pool. My wife and daughter went to the pool first and I was going to join moments later. When I made it down I saw my wife standing near a white police officer and a black staff member with long braids. I walked over and my wife said the officer and staff member told them they had to leave. I asked if everything was ok and was told they did nothing wrong and that the pool was closing for an hour or two for a private event. It was a few white people standing shaking their heads as they stared at us. The approach was very embarrassing as we are a black couple being escorted from the pool by an officer as if we did something wrong. When we checked in, we were told the pool was open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily and was open to all guest. We were never told it would be times where the pool would be off limits for private events. We checked in on Thursday and stayed until Sunday. However after the above event we did not go back to the pool. I am very upset by this and felt a staff member alone could have explained the situation without a police officer standing over my wife and seven year old daughter with his hands in his gun belt. I am sharing my experience because I felt training on a better approach is needed. I am a police officer in North Carolina and has never been dealt with in this manner. We were just visiting on vacation. I did receive follow up. I was told the police was contracted by a private high profile group. The hotel explained that it was all last minute and the manner turned into a police operation very fast. They explained that they also felt the weekend experience for the guest was not up to there standards as they saw the interaction between officers and the guest. I must say the staff was very professional and even a few of the officers were very awesome. However, the pool incident could have and should have been avoided. I pray this was an isolated event.

Spacious room with a clean and modern design. Loved the long counter top which gives a lot more storage spaces. Equipped with a mini-fridge, water kettle and a coffee machine. Stable wifi. Water from tap and shower is strong and hot enough. However the drainage from the sink is pretty slow. The king-sized bed is comfy, but the 4 pillows provided are all too soft and could not provide good neck support. The room is facing a large parking lot with a lot of sunlight during the day. I did not suffer from any noise during my stay and the thick curtains definitely helped with my sleep. Target Grocery is next to hotel and you could schedule a shuttle from the hotel to destinations within a 5-mile radius of the hotel. But I would not say this is the perfect location because there are not many restaurants nearby.

Love this place. We first visited in December for a pool night during Christmas break. We just went back again last week because the kids kept begging to go back. The pool and hot tub are great! Huge pool, much larger than most hotels. It is 4 feet deep throughout, so good for my kids who can swim well. Hot tub adjacent to pool but tucked away so nice for me to relax while still able to keep an eye out. Over Christmas, there were maybe 2-3 other couples/ families using pool while we did. This last time we came during a snowstorm, so we literally had pool to ourselves in both the evening and next morning. Rooms were well appointed, recently renovated, and clean. Exactly what I was expecting. Front desk is very friendly and helpful as well. I'm a bonvoy member and enjoyed the late checkout offered with my status in order to enjoy the pool longer before we left. This hotel is right next to Target, the Yorktown mall, movie theater, restaurants. Plenty of options and amenities for a business or family type traveler. Highly recommend!

We came here for our 4th couple’s retreat. It is always great time and a great place for a couple’s retreat! We have already signed up for next year. We stayed in room 1505 and it has a beautiful view and the sunrise was visible from the windows!

I was here for an event, so I did not utilize many of the amenities. The room was comfortable though it seemed a bit on the small side. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. The hotel is close to shopping. With COVID the restaurants in the hotel were mostly closed. The Yorktown Market was open though the selections were very limited. Harry Carey's was open in the evenings. The mall is an easy walk and it has a food court with several selections. There are also various other restaurants in the area and many are as easy walk. I cannot speak to what attractions are around here.

I've stayed at this hotel for years because of my husband's work and easily stayed more than 100 nights in the last 2.5 years. We recently moved out of the area and had to stay one night recently for a funeral. Everyone there has always been friendly, accommodating and amazing, but I'm writing this review as a special thank you to Selena in the front desk for going above and beyond to help us during a difficult time. She was able to check us in to our room although we arrived the next day (due to long fight delays) and provided us a late checkout we needed even though the hotel was booked at capacity. Her kindness and compassion during this tough time for us will not be forgotten. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Front Desk Agent yelled that she hoped I had a reservation as I walked in the hotel from the parking garage on July 21st at 11pm I had my suitcase with me, and it wasn't like I was a random walking in the hotel. I told her yes, then she proceeded to check me in. While checking me in, she informed me that there was a deposit required. I asked her what the deposit amount was, and she didn't respond and went ahead to charge my card. She was not friendly at all and was the worst Front Desk Agent I've ever come across. I strongly believe the poor treatment was due to the color of my skin. I will be contacting Marriott for a refund due to this poor experience.

Stayed at the Westin for business in June 2022. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Having lived in the Chicago suburbs for years, it was different experiencing it from a hotel. The location makes it easy to get to from the interstates as well as many shopping and dining experiences. Pro Tip: if you're grabbing dinner or a drink check out the rooftop deck on the 2nd floor next to the pool. It faces east and is shaded in the afternoon/evening from the sun and gives a decent skyline view from the suburbs.

I usually stay here traveling for work. Massive hotel. Rooms are always clean and satisfactory. Starbucks in the lobby. Across from a mall. Could have a better bar for such a large hotel. Lobby is usually pretty busy due to the amount of conference/event spaces they have.

I stayed at this hotel for the weekend and it was great. The room was spacious with two queen sized beds. The lobby looked very nice with fast elevator times as there were 5 elevators. The hotel also has quite a few services such as an indoor gym, pool, and Starbucks. I would definitely stay here again as it's located near many stores and restaurants.

I was a guest at this property over Mother’s Day weekend. I was travelling with my Mother who has some medical conditions. I did not have a great experience at check-in. Front desk associate I believe was David did not acknowledge my status or respect the fact that I was travelling with an older adult that required special assistance. This property is blessed to have Charles as their Conceirge. He is wonderful. He provided exceptional service during our stay. This would have been a one-star rating. He also recommended that I speak to a manager and share my experience which I did. About the property. I was a returning guest. I was familiar with the property. It is nice and spacious. Parking is free. Starbucks is on site. There is a restaurant and bar/lounge as well. There is a pool, hot tub and sauna. Lounge is closed on the weekend. Follow me on Google and check out my other reviews, photos and videos. Thank you.

All the guest services staff encountered thus far had been friendly and professional during each visit. Post remodel rooms are looking much better than those older rooms still waiting for the refresh. So choose those if given the choice. However, one thing that will benefit from improvement in order to ensure a better guest experience would be more consistency in the application of the Westin white tea aromatherapy scent across different floors and guest rooms at this property. Some floors/ rooms smell refreshing while others smell like leftover food or body odor. As of Q3 2022 the remodeling is still ongoing, and I was informed that it won't be completed until 2023. So hopefully by then the rooms will all be brighter and nicer.

Came here twice on corporate booking and holy cow!!! This is by far one of the best hotels I have been to. Cannot comment on the cost-to-service competitiveness because it was fully covered by corporate for me in early 2022. It has everything you could ever think of in a hotel, large spacious rooms, and prime location.

This is the choice for my coworkers and I on a regular basis. With decades of Titanium Elite status between us, we understand the options and really appreciate this hotel. Safe, clean, and comfortable are basics done well here. The location is convenient to I-88, 355, and 294, and we travel 15 minutes to our regional office; there are a number of closer Marriott properties. Among the advantages we see… the friendly staff like David at reception and their signage pro Maddison, free covered parking, convenient shopping, a good variety of nearby (though not really walking distance) restaurants, and a staffed Concierge Lounge where Deena’s personality shines.

I called the hotel first to see if my room was ready early, the young lady told me yes, and asked if I wanted my champagne 🍾 and strawberries 🍓 before I enter the room, I explained to her bring them in upon my arrival. Waited an whole hour, then I called the front desk and spoken to a customer service representative he told me the manger will be calling me back in ten minutes no one had reach back out to me. I waited some more, then i went down to the front desk and asked the receptionist what was taking so long. He told me that there was going to bring it right up, 10 minutes later they did, I drank some of the champagne 🍾 and the chocolate covered strawberries 🍓, they were horrible, so after the event I invited some guests up to the room to finish off the bottle and eat the strawberries 🍓 so they would not go to waste. I do want to thank Mrs. Princess for helping me out of a jam, I love your customer service skills, we more people like you again thank you. And last my overall experience at this hotel after everything I really enjoyed myself....

I stay at this hotel fairly often for work. Ty is usually the first person I see and is always welcoming. As I left the hotel I accidentally dropped my license and credit card in the hotel key box. Ty went to the front desk and shared the manager wouldn’t be arriving with a key until 8:00 am but not to worry. He found someone else quickly and helped me get out on time for my flight. Ty thank you! I’m so grateful.

Location was perfect For our wedding weekend but since they were also hosting a dance competition weekend with 800 girls it was not ideal. The room itself was nice with plenty of natural lighting not odd that it did NOT have power or usb accessibility on both sides of the bed.

Very nice hotel. I didn't stay here, but stopped by to see a friend. There is a lot in this area, as it is close to Target, the mall, a theater, and many great places to eat. The way the downstairs looked, I can only guess that the rooms are great. This is the only place in Chicago that my friend will stay.

The first time we stayed here was about three years ago. I was soooo surprised when my husband told me we had been upgraded to the presidential suite. IT. WAS. AMAZING!!!! I wish I had taken pictures then. This week we stayed in a regular room and it didn’t disappoint. It was a corner room so we had lots of windows and it still felt spacious. The hotel itself has a Target across the street on one side and a mall across the street on the other so I can’t complain about location. Breakfast was decent and appetizers at dinner time thoughtful. The staff were great. From receptionist to housekeeping. Thank you so much. Will definitely be back

Don’t believe the google reviews. This hotel is filthy. We arrived and there was feces in the toilet, carpets were filthy, the floor we stayed on smelled like musk. My husband had to go across to Target to get cleaning supplies. The manager wanted to give us point compensation because we booked through a third party site. The points are useless because I never plan on staying here or any of their other locations again. The parking garage looks creepy and dirty. I’ve stayed at less expensive hotels with a far better atmosphere. The pictures you see on the site must be from when they first opened. My family was uncomfortable for the entire night. These are only a few pictures that I took.

We decided to stay at the Westin for our 10 year wedding anniversary this past weekend (Oct 6-8). The placed was so packed and busy. They had SEVERAL weddings going on throughout the whole weekend. Had I known it was that busy, I would have chosen another hotel. Although the hotel room was for the most part quiet, the long wait for the elevators and the atrocious parking was definitely a downer.. We needed a luggage cart and didn't know that only the "BELL-MAN" can utilize them. I'm not a fan of that as I don't like a strangers touching my belongings, BUT Charles was AMAZING! He asked if we were there for one of the weddings and I told him we were there for our 10 year anniversary.. He was so nice to us and took very good care of us. I asked Charles where might I find a microwave in the common spaces and he said that he will just search and bring one to us.. HE DID JUST THAT! Delivered it himself before he left for the evening. Charles made our evening and the Westin is lucky to have him. I took one star off of my review because the Westin no longer has that distinctive green, leaf soap that I look forward to smelling while at any Westin. It is now a cheap, white bar that smells disgusting. We also had an issue with a lady at the front desk(black and didn't catch her name). My husband couldn't find the key drop box and he came to the side of her desk to ask where the drop box is instead of standing in the super long line(check out was on10/8) and she yelled, " Don't you see how long this line is and you want to ask me a question?!" Totally inappropriate and not at all the hospitality I remember with the Westin.

Attended a catered event. Food was atrocious. The fact that the event organizers didn't sign up for the wifi package meant you had to buy theirs, what year are we in that we need to buy the wifi?! Would not recommend for events. Catering staff however was absolutely lovely

This hotel is beautiful inside and out! One can enjoy a nice walk through the lovely landscape with water features and across the parking lot is tons of shopping! We would definitely recommend this hotel!! Thank you for your generous service and hospitality!

The Westin is my go to place for solo staycations or staying with friends. Super convenient all around and free parking! If you forget anything no worries! Target is right across the parking lot. They are charging now for early check-in but you can’t beat getting into your room at 7/8am especially when your staying one night. I have no complaints! Great service! I have stayed here many many many times.

Overall attended a wedding here and was impressed so much. This place was beautiful. Staff were great. The catering experience ran smooth. The drinks they offered here was delicious and they were very accommodating. The hotel itself was clean and had a beautiful interior and exterior.

A girlfriend and I booked a much needed spa day on Resort Pass (that would give us access to the pool, spa, gym amenities). I REALLY wanted to like this place. Great location, nice, attentive lobby staff (though, that would soon change; more on THAT later) beautiful lobby…… When we arrived at the hotel, we were immediately greeted by the concierge, a friendly, older gentleman at the front door. The front desk attendant was also friendly. BUT he seemed a bit flustered in checking us in. He knew that we were using a Resort Day pass; gave us keys to access the pool/locker room/gym areas; BUT no keys for lockers, which made it necessary for me to run to the lobby for keys. Broken lockers (I had to walk to the lobby THREE additional times, because the lockers were broken/did not work; so in all, FOUR trips to the lobby). Side note, the lobby staff spent more time socializing, than rectifying the situation; not helpful at all; the fourth time I returned to the lobby seemed a bit annoyed. Btw, their “so called locker room” consisted of mini lockers, no changing/privacy areas, or shower area. It consisted of one big room to be shared by males/females. No multiple shower area, just ONE bathroom each (male and female) that had one shower, no blow dryer or toiletries (luckily, I brought my own). You’re essentially changing/showering in a big bathroom. No hot water in shower, bathroom not the cleanest. No signage to tell you where to get towels; luckily, we found a rack of towels near the sauna area. Side note, towels were old, and thread bare and looked like they had seen better days. The pool/sauna area was large, but water was filmy and not clear. The area looked like it had not been cleaned/maintained (my girlfriend found an old cup on the floor near the whirl pool area; did not know how long it had been there). In the three or so hours we were there, did not see one maintenance person, other than the guy who was checking the water quality of the pool Nice work out room but could not use it because it was under construction (why was this not mentioned when we made reservations???). This location has no business being on the Resort Pass website. It has no spa, amenities to speak of. Again, to Hyatt Lodge which is 10 minutes or so up the road; MUCH better spa day/amenities. If you just want a "lay your head" kind of spot then book here. but I would try another hotel in the area; customer service/cleanliness was horrible.

Room was nice and decent size. Some of the details in the room were not great. Bedding was in relatively poor condition. Some rough edges on the desk. Bathroom is small and the shower curtain does not do a very good job of preventing water from exiting the tub during shower. No ventilation in the bathroom. No exhaust fan or anything. Gets very steamy very easily. No light in the closet. TV worked well but is very slow to respond to the remote. Kept the air in the room cranked all the way down and on high all night and all day and it barely got cold enough to be comfortable. It wasn't even that hot outside. Very friendly staff but I had to call a few times and wait quite a while to have more towels brought. Location is good but access is awkward through numerous other parking lots. Parking situation is not obvious nor the best. Disappointed that they don't offer Westin candles and other goods for sale. Much cheaper than staying in the city and only about a 45-minute drive with traffic.

  • 4/5 Maverick 1 year ago on Google
Very nice hotel. Free parking. 30 minutes from downtown Chicago depending on the traffic. Only con was that I had to request an ice bucket for my room twice since they didn't bring it the first time. The safe was locked when I first arrived so I had to get someone to come and open it. Also the blinds didn't open all the way so that needs to be fixed as well. Overall it was a good experience, they just need to fix the small things. Very nice pool and hot tub as well.

Got this room at a pretty got rate during the week. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are clean. I got a great view. There's a lounge on the top floor with an even better view. Plenty of shopping and food within walking distance or quick drive. My only complaint would be my room was very close to the elevators. And I could hear the elevator going up and down in my room.

  • 1/5 Amar S. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was not full booked and we were given a dirty old room that had a smell. Fortunately we were advised by staff to go back to the front desk and ask for one of the empty renovated rooms. Why put us in a dirty old room when we could have a better experience and want to come back. What is the logic for renovating rooms and not allowing guest to use them. Bad business sense. For anyone staying here.. request a room above the 13th floor. Anything below that and you've been ripped off.

Attended the USA Powerlifting National HS meet. The event flow for the hotel was easy to navigate and never felt crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pillows were just ok but that’s my only “complaint.”

Excellent hotel, comfortable beds, really awesome lap pool and gym, and hot tub. Little deep for small kids but we brought a life jacket and our daughter loved it. I was able to swim for hours alone during the day. It was so relaxing. Great restaurant down in the lobby. Great breakfast in the executive lounge. Super friendly staff. Definitely recommend staying here.

My family and I just check out of our hotel stay here. Would have given it a 4 star but lastnight while trying to get a shuttle back from Yard House Restaurant, the lady who finally answered the phone at the hotel told us there were no driver there. But we were dropped off by a amazing driver Ty who said to call the front desk for the shuttle back. Needless to say my family and I walked back. Soon as we come in the door there was Ty the driver, he was confused said he was awaiting us for the call for pick up. When brought to the attention of the front desk staff they said that the person in the back is answering the phone and doesn’t know what she’s doing. We asked for a manager. Manger states this is the second time this has happened tonight and offered us an apology. Meanwhile one of the front desk person did offer us a bottle of water. If you are expecting shuttle service don’t depend on it when staying here. And if u have small children the pool is too deep for the little ones. Oh not to mention the night before there was a fire at 6 am and we all had to wait outside in the pouring rain. And someone on our floor smoked weed the entire time. The beds are comfy tho 😆

On the final day (day 3) of our stay, I found a live bug in the bathroom. I always check the room upon arrival. I checked again and didn't see any others. Being nearly certain that it was a bed bug, I reported it to the front desk. I was told that the room would be closed to occupancy, that they would call the pest control company, and that they would let me know if it in fact was a bed bug. It has been 2.5 weeks and I have only received an email from Kim Myers letting me know that someone would be in touch and asking me to be patient. Although I took what I believe to be appropriate precautions returning home, all I can do is hope that it either wasn't a bed bug (which is doubtful) or that none hitched a ride home with us.

Stayed there for a conference this past week. In regards to the conference spaces, the hotel was great! Ample space, easy to hear speakers (even when hall was divided into 3 separate rooms), and the food provided throughout the couple of days was tasty. Very satisfied with it as a conference venue! In regards to my actual room, I was much less satisfied. Overall amenities were fine - I was given an accessible queen room, despite booking a regular king room. Was told they were full and couldn't really do anything, so I rolled with it. However, the HVAC system did not work in my room. I would try to set it to "cool," and after 5-10 minutes it would default back to "auto" and restore the default settings. This wouldn't be a huge problem, except the default setting was 78 degrees. While in the room, the only way to cool it off was to keep an eye on the thermostat and re-input my desired temperature (70-72) every single time it reset. Again, not much could be done about it as the hotel was booked and there wasn't another room to go to. I'll also add that while the TV worked, it took forever to start up. The screen would read "accessing..." for 5-10 minutes every time it was powered up. Overall, the 2 stars are for the hotel as a conference venue (which seriously - it's great for that!). But the actual room accommodations are a little less than to be desired.

A block of rooms were reserved for a wedding. Our shuttle was picking us up at 3:30 to take us to the venue. Our room wasn't ready when we got there at 1:30pm and were told check in is at 3pm. It didn't leave us enough time to get ready for the wedding and make the pick up time. The front desk was nice and found us a room on a different floor which was fine and we were appreciative of that. My complaint with the hotel comes after we got back from the wedding. We pulled up and there were 4 police cars there. We got in the elevator and the fire alarm goes off. We had to walk down 12 floors and nothing was marked and had a hard time getting out. We ended up walking thru the parking garage to get out. It ended up being a fight in the hotel and someone pulled the fire alarm. It seems like there's a lot of parties in the room and a lot of trouble here on the weekends. People were yelling, screaming and slamming doors at 3AM. I thought this was a nicer hotel but it seems that's not the case. In the morning I tried talking to the front desk person and she just walked away from me. Never again will I stay in a Westin....especially the Lombard location.

Rooms were clean. Nice large TV in room. Beds were way too mushy and soft. Bathroom sink had a leaky faucet. My main complaint is how loud the doors close. All night I heard loud banging from patrons entering and leaving their rooms.

Magic is the largest patient advocacy group in the US for families with short kids (growth hormone deficiency, achondroplasia, Russel Silver Syndrome, SGA, ISS etc). Rooms were clean & comfortable, service was great, wake up calls were on time, bathrooms were great with rain showers and good shampoo, conditioner & body wash, good meeting rooms, and best $12 Eggs Benedict I've ever had!

Checked out yesterday in awe of how amazing the hotel and Arie/Saturday management were. I am convinced that Arie is part Angel, part Genie, and possibly part Care Bear. Wonderful customer service example. I smile while even thinking of staying again

Great hotel and a good location. Unfortunately, there are cars revving up and down the street all night. Other rooms coming and going midnight to 4 am, and the doors slam shut super loud. The room itself is nice, big window with a big privacy screen, nice tv and small fridge. Enjoyed the rain shower-head for the shower, surprisingly refreshing.

Staff are very nice and welcoming. Rooms are great. They have everything you need. The pillows, however, are terrible! When you use all 4 and still wake up flat as a pancake. Bring your own pillow and fan and you'll sleep like a baby!

I've never left a review for hotel but I feel compelled to do so. My son and I stayed the night on a Thursday on the way to a hockey tournament in Michigan. My son left his iPad and headphones in the lobby on Friday morning during breakfast. We went to the hockey tournament and realized we had left the devices in the hotel on Sunday. We drove back to the hotel on Sunday and one of the managers had found the devices and gave to security for safe keeping. They return the devices to us and when I went to give him a tip the manager refused to accept it. One of the nicest things someone has done for us in a while. Thank you Westin.
