Absolutely awful. They have Roaches. I am going on 4 weeks arguing with management on my refund. Juanita is unreasonable and very rude yet she is the manager there. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Visit a different location as this place is a joke for cleanliness. There's no pride in their work here and lord forbid you have an issue it'll be swept under the rug. Save yourself the headache and drive a bit further to a nice, clean establishment because this place is probably where I caught COVID.

I've been staying here for a month or so now. While in town for work. The hotel is well kept, and rooms are clean, 24hr laundry is cheap to use, and they even have free to go breakfast. Surprising due to the fact that they also have pretty competitive rates. All this being said all staff members have truly been great. They are very welcoming, professional, attentive and friendly. I work nights, So when I come and go the one staff member that is always there to help me with anything is AVA. Doesn't matter if it's to help open the door since I was carrying all with tools for work, get me a new key card for my room because I lost it or demagnetized it with my phone wallet, remind me about the morning breakfast when I walk in or just to ask me how my day is going, she does it with a smile. She is very knowledgeable, friendly and great person over all! I recommend staying here 100% and just saying that I'm still staying at the hotel as I write this. Most people write reviews when they are angry, if they were asked to or if they get something out of it. I'm writing because this hotel and staff really do deserve the 5-star rating for their 5-star service.

Lengthy check in process. There was an issue with my check in and with the woman’s next to me. Walking down the hallway, things look and feel promising… and then we entered our room. Everything is dirty, including stained sheets, hair and unknown splatter on the walls, ceilings are full of dust, fridge seal looks moldy, and there’s an odd odor in the room. Definitely not staying much past waking up, if we even decide to sleep there! Ok so we did decide to stay the night and I was going to give TWO stars bc the bed was surprisingly comfortable, but then I went to the bathroom and noticed mold along the caulk of the tub and I’m pretty sure I saw a roach. Do not recommend.

We checked in for one night in room 158. My husband woke up to use the bathroom and get something to drink when he spotted 3 baby roaches. Two in the sink and one on the desk counter. The best they could do for us was refund us $13.00 for the fact that we saw the roaches and told us they couldn’t extend our stay….

Kitchen utensils are not provided. I stayed here specifically to cook a couple meals myself - but the kitchen was 100% empty. They wanted you to buy their cookware. What a joke.

This Is The Worst Extended Stay I’ve Ever Stayed At Before. The Grab and Go Breakfast Doesn’t Exist. The Rooms Are Half Cleaned, Only 1 Face Towel With 4 Dry Towels, No Soap In The Room No Plastic Cups and The staff is Lazy, Rude, and Never Present and When You Ask Them To Do There Jobs It’s way’s Attitude. Every Time i Come To The Desk There Is A Wait No Matter the Time of day. The Hispanic women that works at the desk is very rude. This is the first hotel I’ve ever seen close there front desk at night, the vending machines did not work and i felt very uncomfortable due to another guest when i went to get snacks and there was no staff to report it to. I have young children checking in with me so this made me very unhappy and i would not recommend this location. NEEDS AN ENTIRE NEW STAFF!!!!!!

We ended up not staying there. We didn’t realize that we needed to check in before 11, so the room that we got hadn’t been cleaned with food still left in the fridge and the windows left open on a freezing night. We moved rooms, but someone had been smoking near the next room we were given, so we asked for a third room where someone had an alarm going off in the adjacent room, so we decided to leave. Most of what we experienced was more the clientele than the facility. The late night person did her best, but she had little control over what other guests were doing. A money saving deal if it works out for you, but there’s a reason it’s a bargain.

The best part of the hotel is it's location. Believe the two star description. The night receptionist was friendly enough, the morning girl though, not so much. Their 'Grab and Go' breakfast consisted of muffins, which were all gone by 7:30 am. There weren't enough for everyone staying here. Which is abysmal if you offer 'free breakfast'. The hallways smell of smoke and trash, even though it's a 'smoke free' hotel. It feels like a motel. The room itself is dirty. Sunflower seeds on the floor, dirty fridge, cum on the sheets. Paid $140 for a Saturday night. Not worth it. Pay extra and stay somewhere else.

The staff is so super helpful and friendly. If you have a problem they are super quick about it. The hotel was really nice and comfortable. It was nice and quiet no one was being too loud. Definitely would stay here again!

I booked a room, paid for it, and when I showed up they just told me they don’t have any rooms available. I refused to leave without a solution because I did not have any more money or any other places to stay. So they just called the police and kicked me out. Manager JUANITA HERNANDEZ-VARGAS was extremely rude. I am taking this matter to my attorney now!

Currently here for a week. Took 25 minutes to see a human at the front desk came out of a closet room like she just woke up wiping crust out her eyes. Room was dirty 1/4 roll of toilet paper brought my own btw. Shower is completely clogged pools instantly called for help they offered a toilet plunger for me to do it my self. Definitely not sanitary absolutely blown away by the extreme destain of hospitality. Place is a absolute dump

Great hotel. Front desk was very friendly. I enjoyed my stay. Only gave 1 less star because there were chip crumbs by the bed. But other than that, the room was clean. The full kitchen was nice to have too. A quiet hotel, for a good nights sleep. If I ever need a place to stay, this place is my go to.

All of the staff has always been so very kind and courteous to me and I am so happy to be there as I hardly ever have an issue, but if I did, the staff takes care of it right away. It’s a nice quiet place and they are so nice and always there to assist and help all of the time! My hat goes off to each and every employee there. Such great hard working people which is hard to find, but they always have a smile on their faces every time I see any of them! Also, they made every step possible to insure that every place was clean and sanitized since COVID began and they made sure to keep everyone safe!!

Went back to extended stay as some work was being done on my house. Since the last time I stayed there was beyond amazing I figured I would go back. I only had to stay here for 2 days and this experience was even better than last time. I want to say thank you to the team here at downers grove for making everything so comfortable and cozy.

This hotel just makes it so clear we're living in late stage capitalism. It's gross and it'd be gross if I worked here for $15/hr when rent is ~$2k/month too. Edit: Well if that reply isn't a perfect example of the awfulness.

I’ve recently stayed here due to work and honestly I have no complaints. I work long nights and hours and no matter what time I needed something from the front desk they were always helpful. Hats off to the lady’s at the front desk for running a great hotel and holding it down no matter what time. It’s their work ethic and dedication that honestly tops all the other hotels in the area. And thank you to the older house keeper she made sure my room was clean with fresh towels and linen. Thank you all so much, for making my stay warming during this past Thanksgiving you all made my home away from home feel so much better.

The building was very clean, the front desk staff was great. 2 observations: #1 the handicapped doors do not operate when you press them to open. #2 the matress was harder than we are accustomed to sleeping on.

First, Extended Stay in Downers Grove met two of our needs: a place to avoid neighborhood fireworks, and a place for our dog. While there were fireworks by the motel, the sound was muted and did not bother us or the dog. Second, the girls at the front desk were accommodating and friendly; however, we booked two double bed rooms, and one was not available. She was able to provide a queen bed room. Now the issues...I emailed twice and called twice about including the dog, and never received a confirmation. Again, the girl at the front desk, who never received a confirmation from Daphne in Arkansas, indicated it was not a problem. The key cards seldom worked despite suggestions to pull it out fast or pull the door handle forward a little when inserting the card. The toilet in Room 206, the double room my husband and son had, backed up, but did not spill over; however, whoever tried to fix it flooded the bathroom. The tube did not have a stopper. Also, my son uses a CPAP machine, and there was no accessible outlet by the beds. My husband and son were moved to a different room, but it only had one double bed. My son is pretty large, and my husband uses the whole bed...not a good substitution. It was fortunate that the room had a recliner that my son could use. My daughter and I needed the queen because we had a toddler with us. While the double bed room would have been more ideal, the queen suited our needs. The motel, on the whole was clean, but very tired looking. In Rm 216 , dressers were scratched up and the drawer on the top left does not stay closed too well, the TV remote did not work, and the outlet behind the dresser is loose. I appreciated the recliner because I have a bad back, but it is unusual in how it reclines and returns to a sitting position. In room 311 the bathroom door did not close tight, and no stopper in the sink. Overall, it suited our needs for two nights.

I really liked the extended stay. The room I got wasn't clean and they apologized and gave me another room and yes it was very clean. The staff was so very nice, but that go breakfast is for the birds coffee tea packs of oatmeal and some granola bars. Breakfast is bacon eggs toast some pancakes. They need to do better. I have a problem with checking in. I rent the room but can't check in until 3pm really then you want me to check out at 11am and you want to charge me for a whole day but its not a whole day.🤔 They need to let people check in at 10am. Its nice but they need to work on some things.

For the price the hotel is fine. I stayed for 3 weeks but likely wouldn't stay again. The first day I found leftovers in the fridge from the previous person bit gross. You have to call down and request dishes, which you will have to go downstairs and carry up to your room. The dishes they give you are limited (they did not have pots, only pans). There's no coffee maker, kettle, or toaster in the room, just a range with 2 elements and a microwave. I didn't get housekeeping once during my stay, and was not told what the housekeeping schedule was, so I ended up having a few bags of trash in my room piled up. The front desk staff though is great and very friendly, and it's nice that there is laundry on site.

Fees fees fees! I don't think any of the front desk staff know what they are doing. I called ahead of time to ask about early check in. The lady on the phone told me she didnt know anything about early checkin. So when i got to the hotel, i was told early checkin is an extra 50 bucks and rooms arent available atm due to being short staffed. So I waited and got a call 1.5 hrs later and went in to check in. This is when I was told the nightly pet fee is 25 dollars. Per night. For an extended stay. Are you kidding me? I've never heard of something so ridiculous! Staying downtown Chicago is cheaper at am ES in magmile. That's where I'm going. Canceled my reservation and had to call off work. Waste of time.

The room had bugs in the drawers, we had to be moved to another room. When I went down to the front desk and showed the employee the video of the bugs in drawer she didn't say one word just picked up the phone and called the manager who wasn't on premises ( I asked) the manager was on speaker phone and I guess wasn't told so because when the employee told her what was going on she's like yeah so why you calling me switch rooms and hung up.

I went here for vacation with my friends and we were blown away by how good the rooms looked. The staff were very friendly and helped us when we had questions. I would come back here again with my friends.

Worst Hotel ever don’t NOT come here with your family. When I arrived room was very filthy I had to go to the desk several times to get service in my room bathroom had hair everywhere refrigerator was filled with some sort of liquid substance. When asked to get the room cleaned they told me house keeping was gone for the day and she will come tomorrow. When I pulled my sheets back there was a dirty sock on my bed . I went to the desk and asked for new sheets she wanted to charge me but after I told her they were filthy she gave them to me for free. When I asked what time does house keeping come they told me not one time during my stay will they come. I had to take out my own garbage to the dumpster outside the hotel. They keys don’t work but only one day so you have to keep going to the desk to get more keys. And the staff have complete attitudes when you ask them something. There is never anyone at the desk to service you and I think one of the workers live here and is buying P**** from some of the women living here. DONT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE EVER!!!!
