This vet is top notch, and Dr. Jessica Torok is phenomenal. The attention to detail and care that all the staff provide is amazing as well. My dog has severe anxiety whenever he goes to the vet since he’s been neutered. I absolutely love how kind everyone was, and everything they did to make his visit a positive experience.

chose this place based on reviews. brought my puppy here for a year and had the wellness plan through them. i’m honestly appalled at this place. they made me sedate my puppy every time i brought him which i didn’t want to do. i told them i wasn’t comfortable and they wouldn’t let me back there. i then asked if i could muzzle him and train him that way to which i was told yes. bought a muzzle to work on training and was then told he still had to be sedated. since i was never allowed back there i could never witness his behavior. i understand the need to keep employees safe, but he was a puppy that could have been trained. you’re taking an animal into a new place with random people poking and prodding and their owners nowhere around to make them comfortable, how do you think they will react when afraid? their unwillingness to work with us on making our dog comfortable was really unsettling. furthermore, i took my dog to petco and other places to have his nails trimmed and not once did he bite anyone. in fact, without sedation we were told how well he behaved by several people. leading me to believe this vet was the only common denominator. this place additionally is incredibly pricey. they quoted us $700 for yearly vaccinations plus a blood test and possible need for sedation (again, ridiculous). just got quoted by another vet for the same exact things (without sedation) and was quoted $250!!!!! i am thoroughly disappointed in this vet and their unwillingness to truly build bonds with animals and owners. not only did they call my dog aggressive (which has NEVER been an issue with a single other person or pet we’ve encountered on walks, play dates, nail cuttings elsewhere) but they also put in their after visit notes about my breakup with the other owner of my dog? very strange. i wouldn’t recommend this place. super weird and uncomfortable vibes and just all around a pretty bad experience. especially for my dog who had to pee himself for 24 hours before each appointment when he never even needed to be sedated but was given no other option. quite frankly this was all a pretty unbelievable experience.

Dr Mullen is amazing! I am glad I come to this veterinary. Dr is very kind and attentive and explores all options possible and makes great recommendations. She is very thorough. And she is fantastic with herbal medicine and acupuncture for pets. Absolutely amazing. I hope we can find the best treatment and recovery plan for my dog. Herbals definitely have fantastic effects.

Dr. Torek is simply an amazing vet and an extraordinary human being..she stayed late and diligently repaired my puppies ears that were botched in an ear cropping...her sense of duty and professionalism so exceeds the norm . If it is possible to give this center Zero-Star review, I would have done it.! Dr. Torok recommended to spay our female bunny, Lilly, before turning 1 year , and confirmed to us that the risk factor for bunnies to die ONLY after the operation and ONLY for old, sick bunnies. What happened that, Lilly died even before the procedure, during the anesthesia !!! Which is according to any research is very, very, very rare to happen. Not only that, the risk factor for bunnies to die after the surgery is only for non-healthy/sick bunnies. Lilly went through full blood test with the clinic and they confirmed everything should be fine and we should get her back in two hours, obviously they killed her in 10 minutes! I do not recommend Dr Torok for any surgery for bunnies even though she is claiming to have a good experience with them she doesn’t look like she does! Although this clinic look neat, yet, really expensive, you would think that you are choosing the right place for your beloved pet but they are not the best ! I should have asked somewhere else or find another clinic that have better experience before putting my trust in this clinic and its team! So shameful and sad!

Dr. Torok is the only vet I have ever trusted with my pets. I have been to countless vets in the Chicago suburbs to find the best care when my chihuahua was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. He made it longer than anticipated under Dr. Torok’s holistic care. We unfortunately lost him, but I would not have trusted his illness to be cared for by anyone else. Dr. Torok took the best care of him and cares for your pets as if they are her own. She and her staff are always on top of my other dog and cat’s health as well. They listen to all of my concerns and always take them seriously. The whole staff are incredibly caring and kind. This is the only vet I would ever recommend.

I started bringing my dogs here about seven months ago and I'm very happy with this clinic! They use fear-free handling methods and the exam rooms have pheromone diffusers and soft, relaxing music playing. My dogs were noticeably calmer here compared to other hospitals they've been to previously. I'm also very pleased with the medical care my dogs have received. At every visit the doctor and/or tech discusses the treatment plan and cost estimate, and I feel the pricing is very fair. I've also ordered some of my pets' medications through the clinic's online pharmacy which is super convenient. One of my senior dogs needed help crossing the rainbow bridge, and the care that Dr. Torok, Dr. Mullen, and their entire staff provided was excellent. Every step of the way, from the palliative care visits to the final goodbye, my dog and I were treated gently and compassionately.

My dog loves this place for a first time visit. He made friends with everyone there. He thinks it's the treat store. Very friendly and explained everything I needed to take care of Seabiscuit.

I want to share my disappointing experience with Urban Veterinary Associates. Initially, I paid $77 for an examination, assuming it would cover basic assessments. However, it wasn't made clear that specifying concerns in pre-appointment paperwork would incur charges for each item mentioned. Despite mentioning a minor issue with my pet's eyes in the paperwork, the examination merely involved a brief check, resulting in an additional charge solely for observing her eyes without conducting any tests. Additionally, I felt pressured into their Wealth Plan, which included expensive tests for my pet's eyes, costing around $1300 or more. These tests were recommended despite my primary intention being a simple rabies vaccine. I had to emphasize the urgent need for the vaccine due to imminent travel plans, causing further inconvenience. Moreover, receiving a call two months later, demanding additional payment without a clear breakdown or explanation for the charges, was disappointing and lacked transparency in billing practices. For future customers, I strongly advise seeking clarity on all potential charges upfront. While the staff was friendly, the experience was marred by unexpected fees, unclear billing practices, and being pushed into expensive tests through their Wealth Plan.

Exceptional Pet Grooming Experience at Urban Veterinary in Westmont, IL I recently had the pleasure of bringing my black Labrador mix, Travis, to Urban Veterinary in Westmont, IL, for grooming services, and I cannot express enough how impressed and grateful I am for the outstanding care provided by Holly, the talented pet stylist. Travis is usually quite fearful of grooming sessions, making it a challenge for other groomers to handle him. However, Holly's delicate touch and soothing tone of voice worked wonders in calming Travis throughout the entire grooming process. She went above and beyond, providing services such as, shampooing, conditioning, nail clipping, ear cleaning, de-shedding of the undercoat, and even tooth brushing—all without the need for medication. The humane and compassionate treatment Travis received from Holly truly sets Urban Veterinary apart. The fact that Travis was able to undergo these essential grooming procedures without distress speaks volumes about Holly's expertise and genuine care for the animals she works with. One of the standout aspects of Urban Veterinary is their reasonable pricing for grooming services. As someone who struggles to find a groomer capable of meeting Travis's specific needs, I am more than willing to pay the prices offered by Urban for the excellent care they provide. The clinic itself is well-maintained, and the cleanliness is evident throughout. The staff at Urban Veterinary is not only professional but also welcoming and courteous. The overall atmosphere of the clinic reflects a genuine commitment to the well-being of the pets they serve. The only suggestion I have is regarding the payment process. While I was more than happy to leave a tip for Holly, I couldn't find an option to do so at the register. Adding a tip option to the checkout process would be a convenient enhancement. In conclusion, I am immensely grateful to Holly and the entire team at Urban Veterinary for their exceptional pet grooming services. I will not only continue to bring my pets to Urban but also enthusiastically recommend their services to my community. Thank you for providing a top-notch experience for both pets and their owners!

Overall all the doctors take the time to go over any concerns or questions you have. They provide the best care for my pet based on her elderly needs. Can’t wait to bring my other pets here!

Betrayed and Disappointed - Urban Vet Associates Has Lost Its Compassion I've just had what is probably the worst experience at Urban Vet Associates, a local clinic I used to trust with the care of my beloved dogs. Unfortunately, something has changed, and they seem to have lost their focus on the animals and their owners, choosing instead to prioritize profit over genuine care. I started by scheduling an online appointment, and was asked to prepay $148 for my two dogs' exams. While I thought this was steep, I went along with it, expecting that the fee would cover everything. However, after the exams, the nurse handed me two separate bills for each pet, each filled with obscure and exorbitant charges that were not mentioned anywhere online. The most outrageous of these charges was a $50 fee for nail clipping, something that could easily be included in a full grooming service. When I explained how obsurd that was, the nurse said "no problem, I'll just take it off for you" when my big girl really needed a nail clipping. It's so hard for me to clip them and for me to get these two in and out of the car so they only get a grooming every once in a while. Honesty, had they offered to clip their nails included in the exam fee, I probably would have left there happier but whatever. Just shows they only care about the money and not about the pets. The clinic also tried to pressure me into additional tests such as heartworm panels and blood work that totaled to $260 EACH for the blood work and $75 EACH for the heartworm test. There was no mention of these tests or their costs during the online booking process, and they were not included in the initial exam fee, which was already substantial. The staff seemed more interested in making a sale than in providing genuine care for my pets. The nurse insisted on these tests without giving me a chance to think it through or consider alternative options. The absence of prices on their website made it impossible for me to know what to expect, and the sticker shock was unbearable. In the end, I left the clinic without getting the necessary care for my dogs, knowing that I could find more affordable options elsewhere. The lack of transparency and the unreasonable costs left me feeling betrayed and unhappy with my experience at Urban Vet Associates. While the staff may be friendly, their approach to pricing and the pressure they put on their customers is completely unacceptable. I would strongly discourage anyone from using Urban Vet Associates for their pet care needs, as there are undoubtedly better options available. It is a sad day when a once-trusted clinic loses sight of the animals and the people who love them in favor of padding their bottom line.

I am so grateful for this place! Dr. Jessica Torok was amazing. I have been to numerous vets, I got so confused because no one was giving me decisive answers. I have a very young dog with severe hip dysplasia and she was in terrible pain all the time. I am also a single mother and have a super tight budget. I feel out of all the vets and opinions, Dr. Torok really made so much sense to me and she advised me better than anyone else had in the past. My dog had an FHO and everything went so comfortably. I feel super bad because there were two assistants that really were awesome and I forgot their names…… one carried my dog out to the car for me when I picked her up, and also when I went back for her two week check the girl was so nice! I think Dr Torok has great expertise, she was logical and there was absolutely no feeling of pressure of any sort, she gave me clear options for my particular circumstances. I went to my dogs PT Dr who, she has been going to for over a year and she couldn’t say anything but praises for the work that Dr Torok did. One other thing I appreciate is that my dogs primary vet was a constant revolving door of vets that she would see, this place is not like that. And honestly the price was they charged for the surgery was so reasonable.

Dr. Mullen is a wonderful vet. My cat absolutely loves her. She really takes the time to put him at ease. She also takes the time to fully explain the range of treatments available for my pet, which I really appreciate. She goes above and beyond.

I wanted to take the time to share my experience. this place is wonderful I wouldn't take my pets Anywhere else I recently had to help dog cross over the rainbow and Doctor Torok and Chris and the rest of the staff we're just so wonderful and comforting us and helping us on this difficult journey. I love this place! I were looking for holistic vet, my friend recommended Urban Veterinary in Westmont. Doctor Mullen and techs are so knowledgeable and caring here. You can tell they really enjoy their jobs. The office is also beautiful, warm and welcoming. Can not say enough good things about this vet office. I’ve never seen a veterinary office like this!

We have brought our fur baby Snoopy to UVA since he was just a puppy. We are so thankful for all they have done to care for him. Everyone here is a pleasure to talk to and amazing at their jobs. Bring your babies here if you want an amazing vet group!

We have loved our experience with Dr. Jess, Dr. Mullen, and crew! Everyone has always been very welcoming, wonderful with our new pup, and very straightforward about care and any associated costs.

I LOVE all of the staff at Urban Vet! A friend recommended them to me and I was hesitant at first because I don’t live very close to their office, but Dr. Jess is the sole reason I’m willing to drive from the city out to Westmont for all of my baby’s appointments. She diagnosed his atypical Cushings after lots of testing and was always so thorough and patient with me. I’ve sent emails, texts, left voicemails, etc. with questions so many times and she always took the time to call or email me back personally and address everything I wanted to know. The staff has also always been accommodating when he has testing that needs to be done and has let me stay with him for long periods when needed due to his reactivity. When he comes in the room the staff is always so sweet with him so he loves going to the vet now, too. I always feel like they have his best interest in mind and trust them fully with his care. He’s doing SO much better now after being with them for almost a year and I’m so grateful!

These guys are the best! Super clean and super friendly, tons of love and treats for my dog, Moose. He gets really anxious at vet appointments, but they always take the time and care to make him as comfortable as possible. If you’re looking for a great Vet clinic, UVA is the place to go!

Dr. Mullen and the nurse were great, especially in dealing with a very nervous dog. Chris at the front desk was courteous and professional. The second receptionist (I didn't catch her name) could use some training on how to approach scared dogs. She also took and presumably tossed some items that belonged to me because they were never returned and no one could locate them at the end of my visit. Aside from her, everyone was exceptional.
