I have no idea where these good reviews come from. Try asking the patients instead of family members, visitors or staff. There not there 24 hours a day. It's at most of these facilities. Put up cameras in your loved one rooms. Maybe then your reviews will change.

Do not keep your loved ones here !! The rehab building may look nice and clean, but the workers there are negligent and dont care about the patients or their jobs, and if you seen what the long term area looks like, you would wonder how they were still in business. Dirty and disgusting! There was mold on the tubing they use on the patients, webs and dirt all over the heating systems in the rooms, and we found a previous patient’s dirty urinal in my dads room the day they moved him in it. They didn’t even bother to clean the room before they brought him in. They put multiple patients in one big room and there isn’t anywhere there for family to sit when they visit. The food is disgusting and unedible. They ignore cries from people in their rooms and when I confronted then about it, they said “he always yells but never needs anything” umm ok well how do you know they really don’t need something this time ? You are willing to take a chance on an ill elderly person ? I don’t understand how this company can make so much money and just not care about the patients! They should be ashamed of themselves. I would love to see them get shut down, at least in the full time nursing building!

Placing my grandmother at BRIA was the biggest mistake EVER. The facility is dirty and smells foul. I have heard the aide's tell patients to "shut up" when they have dementia and are simply just confused. The aide's do the bare minimum and I don't believe they complete their rounds like they're supposed to. I wish I could transfer my grandma, but it's just too late. I have so many regrets about this choice. There is awful communication between the facility and the hospice. They were administering a drug that THEY KNEW my grandma had a reverse reaction to- causing her so much unnecessary discomfort and pain. The front desk staff is also rude- one woman was on her phone as I asked her a simple question and she ignored me. This is extremely hurtful and disappointing given visitors are there to see their dying family members. I know nursing homes aren't nice in general, but this one really is a disaster.

A list of reasons *not* to let Bria care for your relative, based on my father's stay: *Exceedingly poor communication ... numerous phone calls and emails to staff went unanswered. My father was told he was being discharged on multiple occasions without any notification to the family. When we confronted the staff on this, they immediately backpedaled. *Total lack of professionalism. The social worker assigned to my father, Nicole Finley, quit without notice. She dumped her caseload on another social worker and we were left with a communication gap of nearly a week as a result. The fact that she quit without notice probably doesn't speak very well to how employees there are treated but it takes a pretty awful human to let that affect the patients for whom they are responsible. Even before she quit, we were pretty appalled by how unhelpful she was. She also composed her emails in an illegible cursive font. You're not posting on Tumblr, Nicole ... you're coordinating care for seriously ill people. Maybe try communicating like an adult? *A nurse was verbally abusive to my father for no reason. Another nurse told us explicitly that he and his roommate were some of the most polite, accommodating patients she'd had recently. He did not deserve to be berated by this woman. I hope Bria will locate this person and discipline her appropriately. *The food is borderline inedible, apparently. Tasteless, grey, repulsive. *Medication is dispensed on an arbitrary schedule. Both my father's roommate and the mother of a family friend staying there at the same time went without pain medication for hours despite the fact that they were in desperate need of it. My father was given medication that was contraindicated by his condition despite the fact that we told staff multiple times that it was not necessary (and might actually be harmful). *Their physical therapy department is a joke. Charging patients 400 bucks a day out of pocket to get on an elliptical machine for 20 minutes is really obscene. *There was one excellent nurse, who was very kind and helpful, so that was appreciated. But she was the exception to the rule ... the rest of the staff were awful. This place is basically an early 20th century asylum ... full of screaming patients and angry, unhappy, sometimes abusive employees who are largely indifferent to the welfare of the facility's residents and their families. Steer clear if at all possible.

My mother was at Bria of Westmont this summer.  She was recovering from Covid and hadn’t really bounced back.  She was in and out of the hospital but when she got to Bria, I don’t know if it was magic or if it was just her time to get stronger, but they got her on her feet (even when she didn’t want to) and made her get stronger.  The nurses were all so very nice, Toni in particular.  The staff works so very hard and has so much to do for demanding patients but always seem to have a kind word and a smile.  The nurses should return calls better, but the DON and Administrator always give their cell numbers if families are having trouble getting answers.  Mom and I are just so very blessed to have found this place.

I have visited a family member at this facility for about a month and find the level of care atrocious. Each time I visit I've had to ask someone to change them after finding they've been lying in soiled clothing for what seems hours. Today I stopped by and find it difficult to stay the entire place reeks of feces. Seems every patient has soiled themselves and there appears to be no effort to clean them up.. someone has to be responsible for inspecting these facilities.

I was at Briar of Westmont the early part of 2022. I could only describe my stay at Briar of Westmont is “A Rehabilitation from Hell !!!!”. The low sanitary of bathroom and the cracked plastic that covers the dinner plates, and to the care with contacting the night Registered Nurses for Medicine. I remember a good Registered Nurse, Tabitha, who informed me with a lot of information and very compassionate with me. I can say “Thank You !!!!!”.

This is very bad place put my mom in a room with 2 other people. My mom Got Covid shortly after getting there and they placed her in a room Alone for hours soaking wet and she was very cold. They didn’t want to send to the hospital even though she had COPD and we had to call 911 to get her out if there.she was in hospital for 5 days and is now on permanent oxygen! They only have 2 phones in the whole second floor and the are at the nurses station. When you call they never answer and are very put off when that they have to bring them the phone and monitor what they say !! Covid saved her from this place.

This place is a horrible place to pick up agency through . I worked here as an agency care worker who they are refusing to pay because in my DOWNTIME I was completing homework on a 11-7 am shift . I completed washing the wheelchairs which the nurse signed off and seen I completed. I changed and checked on all my residents assigned to me. I answered all call lights that went off during my shift informing the nurse of any that needed medications as well. I got up the 3 residents I was assigned with the help of the overnight staff employee because one resident was very confused and combative! I arrived on time and was the last cna to leave on the shift. Now all because I was doing homework in my down time around all the duties I was assigned I’m not being paid. Where is that in any contract? Where is that in any rules timestated? Why did the staff not inform anyone? I have worked at facilities that allow that on break time or when there is downtime, and if they don’t then the staff informs those coming in from agency who are not aware of the policies. That falls on the facility, but you don’t refuse to pay someone out for that very reason. Then for the NURSING NIGHTS SUPERVISOR to sign off for my shift meaning all duties were completed during the times of 11-7 and the times I came in were accurate means the shift needs to be paid! Who is working for free these days? NOBODY. I am 100 positive that the employees are allowed to work on things in their down time just as others were on their phones talking , working on iPads, watching movies, and etc during the same shift I worked. This is absolutely disgusting to put someone through this who helped out at your facility that you have no other help for to care for your residents. First and last time I will ever be picking up through this facility. I am grateful to my agency for finally paying me out since the facility refused to. Watch out agency workers and families! This is how they are treating people who are helping their facility.

If you care about your loved ones DO NOT let them stay here!!! Horrible all around. My mom was treated like garbage and had go back to the hospital since they caused more damage! One of the worker and I quote " The night staff here is horrible" which from what I seen is true!

Absolutely horrid facility for long-term care. My father has had his items broken by the nurses, shoes stolen, and anything we send him, including food deliveries, never make it to him. The director and staff refuse to communicate with us a family and literally told us our Dad "has fallen off the radar" when we voiced our concerns. We cannot get him out of here fast enough, do NOT use this establishment if you love your family.

Bria is a very beautiful place that gave me the best experience for rehab. Mostly the staff is very supportive, nice and caring people. The Diverse atmosphere of people is very entertaining experience and their nurses, cna, cooks, maintenance and activities department are very friendly informal and instructive people. I love this place and this my second time back. I wouldn’t want to be know where else for rehab.

My family member had a pleasant stay at Bria of Westmont. Staff was welcoming, helpful, and had transparent communication. The nursing department was attentive. Food preferences were accommodated with alternatives available.

Dad had a stroke and had to learn to walk again.  Because of Covid I was very scared for him to go to a nursing facility for therapy, but knew he had to have it.  I chose Bria Westmont because it was close to home and had a good reputation.  It was a rough transition, to be honest.  He really didn’t want to be in a nursing home and was nitpicking everything the first few days.  But he got used to the routine and once he relaxed, he made friends with the nurses, aides and therapists and really had a great stay.  He got most functioning back and got stronger.  I got weekly updates from the therapists.  Dad even said the food was great.

Without reservation, well recommended. New facilities with excellent staff who prioritize customer care are available. Most importantly, the staff genuinely pays attention to you and is aware of your requirements, giving you peace of mind that your loved ones are being cared for by people who genuinely care about people.

Patients screaming for nurse all night. Supposed to get repo, got 5 sessions not 6. Floors were filty rooms were filty. They hired outside services to come and do blood test. They weren't attentive to the Patients. When I left I had no strength. I also ended up with pneumonia in one lung. Please do not come to this place.

Bria of Westmont is my first experience with a loved one in a Nursing home. I have to say that after looking at multiple facilities I decided on Bria and I'm glad I did. From the Nurse, Kelly to CNA's like Shadee, "Mona Lisa" as my mom called her and a couple of others, they made the experience pleasant. The place is clean and outside is very nice. Many places to sit and talk or work if you are like me and multi tasking while visiting. Its never easy having a parent in this situation but they took the time to get to know my mom and me. My mom was there 7 months and this place became almost like a second home due to the time that I spent there and they the staff treated me and my mom very well. I know that nursing homes in general are understaffed and come with alot of issues and this place is not perfect BUT I'm glad that I could sleep easier knowing that my mom was being looked after.

Do not send any one you care about here. They are flat out thief’s. I intend to prove it and have them shut down. Complaint’s already filed with all regulatory agencies. Thank god for spy cameras 😊

I'm hearing some very serious mis-care of elderly patients that would constitute elder abuse if it were done privately. Who will respond to the complaints?

The Bria of Westmont's striving unit is excellent. My dad had excellent treatment from them. My father's needs were met and his recuperation benefited greatly from the aqua treatment. Karyn and Michael in particular made up a top-notch physical therapy staff. Lincoln, the CRNA, always went above and beyond to assist my father with his everyday needs. He received excellent treatment from him and Jackie. The nurses that worked with Ruby and Evelyn were equally exceptional. The director is ALWAYS eager to assist and put things right for you and your family if there is anything you need or attention you are not receiving. This is a fantastic location.

I have a close family member residing at BRIA of Westmont and I can’t stay enough good about the caring team. The care has been exceptional - more than what you’d except in a nursing facility. Originally we planned to bring our family member home, however plans changed. The administrative team was helpful in accommodating our family needs and communication has been great including phone calls, emails and scheduled care plan meetings. The therapy and restorative teams has been attentive. It’s also nice to know they are making updates of their 2nd floor - making my family member’s adjustment even better. Great work BRIA Westmont - and thank you for caring for my family like they are your own. See you on my next visit.
