I've visited these gardens twice now and they are just so beautiful. It is a peace of tranquillity nestled in a city. Watching all the Ibis, Ducks, Turkeys and Turtles was lots of fun. A magnificent place to visit no matter what age.

Beautiful spot for a stroll or to sip on a takeaway coffee and read a book. Lots of lovely grassed areas and seating available for a picnic or to just chill & enjoy the sounds of the birds. There are some turtles in the water too. Remember not to feed any of the animals though.

This Japanese Garden is a beautiful place to stroll. The central lake has very impressive wooden bridges with water birds swimming in the lake. The time when we visited the place only a few trees have blossomed but still they lent a beautiful ambience to this place. Over all a very satisfying experience.

Such a shame that on our last visit the ibis' have stripped bare the tree in the lake (and their droppings were on the seats/bridge rails), the pine trees and shrubs were not trimmed (karikomi) - it didn't look well maintained and the turtles were thickly covered with moss (?). While "feeding ducks" can be fun, it is not good for them - there should be a sign indicating same. Please get volunteers (USQ?) to keep this beautiful garden in the tradition it was meant.

Wow, just how many beautiful parks does Toowoomba have, this one is definitely a surprise and a gem to find, it is an amazing tranquil and peaceful place to explore from the large lake to the water Falls and small river winding through the park and the lovely paths that wind through the park with all the different areas given beautiful Japanese names also love the bamboo forest... Very highly recommend...

Great garden with a range of paths & different levels to access various views. Japanese style bridges lead across a small expanse of water. Running water permeates the background.

My favorite garden in Toowoomba. This garden is well planned, you can get lost among the blossoms for hours. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area, in particular during the flower festival. There is lots of easily accessible parking.

We loved these gardens, really beautiful and transports you to a different place. Only letdown was a tree in the centre of the water which had been overtaken by the ibis. What presumably was a lovely centrepiece and resting place for the ducks is now a bit of an eyesore but im not sure there's much that could be done about it. Otherwise the ducks and turtles were fun to spot and the orange bridges were delightful.

A really nice place it's much bigger and more expansive than it looks. Some good walking tracks. If you're planning to stay for more than a walk bring your own water, food and drink.

A peaceful, well-kept and beautiful park. Lots of birdlife around the lake and plenty of bridges for photo opportunities. The gardeners have done an amazing job and it's a great place for a quiet stroll, even bringing your dog (on leash) too. There's several entrances and a few paths you can take, albeit it's mostly in a circular direction around the park. A wonderful place for a quiet picnic (making sure to take any rubbish with you!) and would highly recommend!

A lovely little Japanese Gardens next to the University campus in Toowoomba. Not sure about the other entrance but we parked in the handful of parking spots available on a residential street, Regent St, and entered in from that gate. I assume there is more parking at the main entrance next to the Uni. The paths are mostly gravel and parts were a bit muddy along the outer loop. The inner loop goes over bridges with little stairs and even a set of rocks to mindfully walk over the water. We saw so many ducks and even baby ducklings! Lots of turtles, tadpoles, dragonflies, and a lot of birds. The gardens are lovely and well kept. Lots of benches strewn through and some covered picnic style benches as well. My 3 year old mostly needed to have his hand held to help steady his footing and steer him out of the mud, my 7 year old was just fine picking up a stick and pointing out what he was seeing along the way.

Very beautiful Japanese garden designed and constructed under the supervision of a traditional Japanese Gardening master. Extensive series of ponds bridges and garden beds. Beautiful views across the ponds taking in the gardens and bridges. Would offer seasonal variations in colours and blooms.

Japanese Gardens would have to be one of my favourite places to walk around, take in the serenity and peacefulness within a traditional japanese garden setting. Many waterfalls, bamboo groves, bodies of water and grassy seating areas dominate the landscape. Ducks, geese, turtles and catfish also call the gardens home. There are many shaded seating areas to sit as well.

Awesome,, The USQ Japanese Garden is a serene and picturesque oasis in Toowoomba. The garden's tranquil atmosphere and stunning scenery make it an ideal spot for meditation and relaxation. The Japanese architecture and design elements create a perfect blend of culture and nature, offering visitors a unique experience. The garden's well-manicured lawns, water features, and beautiful flora make it an excellent location for picnics or photo shoots. In short, the USQ Japanese Garden is a hidden gem that's worth a visit for anyone seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We love the Japanese gardens so much and make sure we visit every year when we go to Toowoomba for the flower carnival! 🌼

It's looking a little tired but perhaps that's part of an autumn visit. A sign said the pond was polluted and to keep away. Didn't see a turtle but lots of ducks, Ibis (of course) and other birds. The pebble garden was uncared for. Crafted sections of the garden are tidy, and the bamboo stands impressive. A peaceful walk on the gravelled paths was relaxing, and the water installations were calming.

Absolutely stunning place to visit, and was immaculate during September while the Carnival of Flowers was on. Beautiful gardens and fun to spot various animals around.

The gardens need some work to present a more authentic Japanese garden feel. However it was still a nice experience and there are some nice elements in the gardens. The ponds though need to be filtered and cleaned and the Ibis nest site is a real detractor.

Beautiful Garden, giving you a glimpse of Japan! Grateful for Uni SQ for creating and maintaining this beautiful garden! And also thank you to the donors making this possible!! Navigation/parking Tip: Navigate to the one that says “Japanese Gardens USQ QLD public toilets..” Google will take you to the side of entrance where there is a lot of parking inside the Uni SQ. The side of entrance google would navigate with this has street parking and can get challenging to find a parking spot at times.

The gardens are beautiful. Unfortunately we came in winter and not much was flowering. But having been here before, its just beautiful. Everyone has done a beautiful job keeping the grounds tidy and clean.
