Chazzano has been my go-to coffee roaster for almost 7 years. When I know I want really good coffee, for instance, looking for very specific notes on a single origin I come here. Frank the owner is very personable and attentive and will help you find a great coffee for your personal taste. This is their relocation spot in Berkley and it looks better than ever. Stop by for a cup of Joe and get hooked.

Brewing & roasting is an art. I respect that. I ordered a vanilla latte w oatmilk. No flavor syrups are available. Ok. I take that to mean that the flavor of your coffee is so magnificent that it needs no flavor. I purchased what tasted like hot oatmilk, there was no shining star of coffee to be found though. Chazzano, if you brew to just your tastes you should make coffee at home. If you open a coffee shop you should provide what the public would like. Given that I couldn't taste the coffee you may want to invest in a syrup or two. I love coffee and visit all the small shops. Sadly I was so incredibly disappointed you will not be in the rotation.

The bomb fresh roasted coffee spot I’ve ever been to here @chazzanocoffee . Mama I’m home! Here with owner Frank Lanzkron-Tamarazo. He’s a super coffee loving guru who can tell you everything about the coffee from the ground to the cup! You can even buy unroasted coffee beans here. He’s got so many to choose from! Get a discount if you bring your own cup! A hidden jewel of almost 11 years in Ferndale Michigan. Ask for a tour!

Frank is a remarkable person who takes pride in maintaining a coffee shop with a spacious and clean layout. I highly recommend visiting his coffee shop and enjoying a cup of coffee. Don't miss out on this experience right in the heart of Berkley,MI!

I buy all my coffee from Chazzano. I've tried other local roasters and Chazzano beans variety, and quality are the best. Thanks for providing great products, Frank.

Fine, flavorful coffee here. Bold without bitter. Could use a few larger tables so I could bring more than one friend. Outside seating is good.

Afternoon coffee? What kind of coffee place opens at 10am during the week? This place should have stayed in Ferndale. It’s a terrible coffee place that opens in a walkable town but does not have indoor seating and an enjoyable atmosphere. I’ll walk PAST Chazzanos and go to Coffee and Bark

Amazing staff. Knows their product and helps you find what you'll enjoy. Took the time to explain how best to make his coffee. Owner gave me a tour of the shop.

New location for a place I'd never tried before. The coffee was good and well priced, and the staff were friendly! But you should be aware that while its exterior is cheerful and its interior friendly, it's one of the rare coffee shops around here that's in the No Fun Allowed mold. If you prefer your fancy coffee to be whimsical in any way (e.g. any flavor but coffee and milk) you unfortunately have to settle for the swill down the street at Biggby. I'll be back as soon as they buy a bottle of chocolate syrup though.

This is a place for coffee purists. If you are happy with black coffee, or coffee with just cream/sugar, this is the place for you. The coffee is of the utmost quality, but they don't have any flavor syrups and are missing most of the offerings of your typical coffee shop. It comes down to personal preference, and for me, if I'm going to a coffee shop I want a variety of options on flavors and add-ins. If I wanted plain coffee, I'd just make it at home.

This is a place a serious, knowledgeable coffee drinker would love. But you do not have to be that in order to enjoy the coffee. All employees were very nice and answered a lot of questions. Owner has coffee beans from many countries and regions of the world. You can see how the beans are roasted and purchase them to take home.

I've been grinding my own coffee beans for 35 years. This place has the best coffee beans I have ever found. They roast the beans perfectly, and are never over roasted. Every bean has a unique flavor and a lot of complexity. Go there...You won't be disappointed!!

Tons of choices to stock up on delicious coffee beans, as well as lots of options for grinding. Large variety of sources, prices, and roast styles to choose from. Cheap delivery is great for those of us missing you in Ferndale!

Had a wonderful experience. Justin took care of us. I really enjoyed the Rwanda coffee. The ice cream is also delicious.

Coffee itself is good quality however the cafe portion of the shop is lackluster. We ordered a basic latte and it was pretty bad, same with a cappuccino. I would only go here if you are looking to purchase beans for yourself. Avoid the cafe. Parking sucks too.

Chazzano Coffee Roasters is the best. Frank has been in business thirteen years and roasts single origin coffees from around the world. Try a flight of four different coffees brewed the same way or one coffee brewed six different ways. Teas and hot chocolate also available. Can be delivered locally or shipped.

A great American Michigan European style everything coffee house. Fantastic coffee bean selection for coffee snobs like me.

The air smells sweet and good outside the store. Coffee is craftily done here in a special way. It isn't like other coffee places. Come to try it and see if you'd take something new home.

Lovely coffee place that highlights the origin and roast of the coffee. Pour overs and french press are highly recommended as they have about fifty different types of beans.

I got a oat milk cortado and my bf got a pour over. I love that you can pick the bean they use for your drink. The cortado was delicious and my bfs pour over was also good. They make their own ice cream too, for their affogato.

Unbelievable coffee! Definitely on the pricey side. I bought a bag of whole beans, but worth it!

Coffee smells great, people were friendly and helpful. I was my first time and they walked me through their options over the phone and I selected one that should be great. If the coffee is terrible somehow, I will update my review but I don't that will happen.

We are so lucky that the best coffee in Ferndale is right in our neighborhood! We come here on Sunday mornings to enjoy a great cup of coffee before running our errands. They have a huge selection of different beans and their highly skilled baristas can prepare your drink in numerous ways. It's super affordably priced and there's never a long wait. Check 'em out!

To be fair, I am having a bad day today as my housing and work prospects are not the greatest right now. Not in the best mood and genuinely feeling scared, sad, down, and out about my life, so I was excited to try a new coffee shop a friend of mine over at America's Stamp Stop recommended to me. At first the baristas were pleasant and nice, and when I asked them to surprise me they delivered an iced latte, plain no flavors or anything. The first iced latte I got was stale and tasted like dirt, so I gave it another shot and asked if they could remake it, which they did free of charge. The second latte I got was just sour. Just straight up sour and I think the coffee could have had more a medium, chocolatey roast to offset that. I took a few sips and gave them the drink back when i went to order something else to be disposed of since i didn't want to drop it in the trash can with a full latte still in my cup. This is where things got dicey. I ordered an Iced Herbal Sunrise Tea, and asked for a cup of water since i was sitting outside in the sun. I was excited about the tea since it had lemongrass, green rooibos, and rose hips, only to have cup of tea taste like dusty water that vaguely tasted of mint. There was also a lot of sediment at the bottom of my cup. And when I realized they forgot my water I went up to ask for it, and maybe it was because there were only two baristas and the owner on staff they were just a bit busy, but the barista who helped me looked a bit unhinged as if they were about to snap at me. They were super helpful in letting me use the restroom though, and the interior of the store was very nice, if not a little cramped and probably very hot with such a large roaster in such a small space. Overall though it was not a pleasant experience and i didn't really feel welcomed or like the staff wanted me there or to put out the best drinks possible. Granted me tea was the last of what was in the jar, but even that I dumped into the bushes because i didn't feel comfortable asking for any sugar or sweetener packets. I'm willing to try this place again on a different day when I'm not feeling like the human embodiment of depression as my friend recommended it first thing, but I will be more concrete and particular about my order. I did tip at 50% both times though as a courtesy, and would have given this feedback directly but no one really seemed all that friendly and approachable behind their take out window. I was honestly going to try a third drink, and very much considering asking for a refund if that one wasn't good either. But i just decided to call it a wash and go home for the day.
