Grizzly Peak is one of my favorite top hikes in the Berkeley area. There are multiple trail passes to get up to the peak. I used neighborhood parking near the Claremont Hotel. There’s very limited spots, but I got lucky, & found one, it helped that I got there in the early AM. My hike was over 6 miles with 1,600 feet of elevation gain. It was a good workout, as there were some steep parts. The trail was mostly shade and just some sun. It is my favorite because I hike through woods for most of the trail. I saw a lot of different wildflowers, birds, & butterflies. It was very quiet, and there were not that many hikers. The more I climbed up, the better the view got, and the less hikers around me so it’s very peaceful. This is one of the best breathtaking views of the Berkeley Hills, the Bay Bridge, the SF Bay, the GGB, the Richmond Bridge, and even parts of the ocean in the distance. Too bad Grizzly Peak is locked behind a fence due to the tower on top. Anyway, I highly recommend a good pair of hiking shoes, trekking poles, water, some snacks, and sun protection. I plan to come back here at "Dusk" to catch the Sunset and the Lights coming on over the City...

Came here with family and friends last Sunday afternoon. A beautiful park. Lots of fun things to do whatever you're interested in. We went on a little steam train ride with my 1-year-old niece. She loved it as did her family of adults. There are some great picnic areas, both sunny and shady spots. We rode the merry-go-round and we enjoyed one of the trails that gave us some great views of San Francisco. Well worth the time to visit this spot. Everything seems to be well maintained and staff was very friendly.

The trails are somewhat maintained and the views are really nice. Looks like a great place for kids with the merry go round. The bathroom is really clean with normal flushing toilets and a hand dryer. Would have given 5 stars but getting to the park is pretty scary because of all the hills you must traverse.

Awesome park. Me and my big brother went to the park the very next day after the rain and were able to behold some beautiful mushrooms hiding on the ground. Don't forget your hiking boots it'll be a great workout.

Tilden regional Park is a world class park. This park is a must-see for locals and tourists alike. You'll find everything ranging from model trains that the family can ride on to a miniature farm for the kids to visit animals, oh and adults can visit the animals too. There's tons of hiking and some of the best views of the San Francisco Bay area.

It's very hard to impress me, but this park is impressive. Diversity, something for everyone. I'm proud to help East Bay Parks to help and build more access trails for people to enjoy. The botanical garden is a gem. I'm looking forward to their plan sale. Narrow gauge train rides, the swimming lagoon, the golf course, horse rides, picnic areas and redwoods- they have it all.

Always so beautiful. Parked and watched the night sky through the sun roof of my car. It's stunning. Great hiking trails around the area. Camping sites as well. I highly recommend thus if your looking for a beautiful drive, beautiful scenery, deer sightings and even a golf course.

Beautiful park with beautiful views of San Francisco and surrounding areas. A very short drive from Berkeley. Has big areas for picnicking with animal farms for kids enjoyment. Many hikes in this area. Do carry a map of the park trails as it is very easy to get lost.

This is a park one could come to 100 times & see or experience different areas each time. There is something here for literally everyone. To name a few there is Lawrence Hall of Science which has as its name says varied activities based on the sciences a highly interesting places for a wide range of ages. From It's parking lots there a fabulous 180° view of the San Francisco Bay. There's a golf course, a botanical garden, many picnic spots, a little farm with a great deal of appeal to kids, a merry go round, an area where adults & kids can ride on various sizes of model trains, a plethora of hiking & biking opportunities. It is truly a park for all.

Beautiful spot for a sunrise hike ! Absolutely gorgeous with many trails that provide a variety of hiking options. None of the ones I went on were too steep or difficult , and were quite easy to navigate in sneakers , though I didn't go when it was particularly dewy.

SanTa and the elves here were so amazing and friendly. Free to talk and take a picture with santa. My elf took lots of photos of me and the kids. Decorations were so cute. Will bring my kids back again years to come. Food was pricey. The merry go round looked to go kinda fast so we did not ride it.

Went hiking today, on this rainy day. Actually, we went to see a waterfall, and saw two waterfalls. We also saw 2 coyotes, and we saw them mid-day. We only saw one other person walking around.

When it's hard storming, check before you leave to this place. They share their opening status up-to-date on their website. There are three floors in driving range. Except the highest one, you can avoid the raining.

Good place to get fresh air and some outdoor time with your kids. Picnic area behind the merry go around. Protip, put in Tilden park merry go around as your destination in Google maps! Bathrooms are across the parking lot from the merry go around.

We did the Seaview to Quarry trail loop. This was an excellent trail to hike on. It was a bit rocky so wear good hiking shoes and bring poles if necessary. I recommend poles for this trail. Personally I stumbled on a few rocks during this trail. At the top there is a great view point of the dam and bay area. This is a moderately trafficked route. Doggos are welcome !!!

Very hilly to carry golf bag. Nice lush fairways. Greens were extremely slow possibly due to recent rains.

Breathtaking views of the Bay Area. Beautiful forestry and lots to explore. Plenty to do with kids, including the train and merry go round. Both priced very fairly, masks currently required for merry go round as it is indoors. Staff was friendly and had free masks for those who forgot theirs.

👍👍 A very well maintained park, playground, soccer, baseball fields and parking lot. Very scenic. Kensington is a very nice town to drive through. Pleasant short walk on paved walkways. Well groomed lawns. I recommend a visit or picnic. Parking is free. Update: July 2023; This is still a wonderful park...
