Once you eat pizza at Arizmendi Bakery you won’t ever want a NY slice again. They make one kind of pizza each day based on the ingredients at hand for that day (you can check the menu online ahead of time to see why the flavor will be). The dough is sourdough based and the toppings are fresh and creative. There is usually a line out the door but it moves fast. You can buy pizza by the slice, a half pie, or a full one and they’ll always throw in a few extra scraps which is awesome. This location is awesome and a great option for anyone craving pizza!

I love Arizmendi. With several of these co-op bakeries sprinkled around the Bay Area as well as other thin veggie options like Sliver and Cheeseboard, the Lakeshore location is my favorite. Their vegetarian pizzas are so consistently delicious regardless of the toppings and even better, their breakfast pizza on Sunday mornings make my weekend infinitely better.

Incredible pastries and crazy delicious thin crust sourdough crust pizza. Long lines but they move fast. They do have cheese pizza for the kiddos. The light bake option for the pizzas is brilliant if you're not eating it right away.

If you happen to be around please make sure to stop by for a slice of pizza, pastries or bread. There might be a line - the wait is totally worth it, I promise. I love getting a slice to go and walk around Lake Merritt. They also have many drink options and soup. Their staff is super friendly and have a very cool ethos as a business.

Such a shame. This place used to be amazing. Now they just close as-how whenever they feel like it. The selection I was used to daily is now only offered once a week. Seems like they use any opportunity to not come into work. If you don’t want to work, just close the business. Full of excuses I don’t care about. Grow up, be a business, or don’t. Drove in specifically today because it’s the only day of the week they make what I like. Closed. No reason given. No sign. Just closed. Over it. Won’t be strung along anymore by a business that obviously doesn’t care about being in business. Today is Jan 8, 2022.

The chocolate thing available on Sundays from @arizmendilakeshore is my favorite pastry in the Bay Area … so far! Their chocolate chip pecan cookie is also good. I also enjoy the iced coffee, pizza (flavors change daily) and today’s veggie vegan soup was delish! I love that it’s a coop owned by people who work hard and make good food, bread and drink. I love this location.

Arizmendi is like my favorite Uncle...consistent, high quality and not for everybody. Been eating at Arizmendi since 1998 and they never disappoint. If you want meat everything or the same pizza everytime then push on to LaneSplitter or Forge. This spot creates seasonal Vegetarian pizzas and a growing number of bakery options. Order a Hot or Light bake and consider adding more veggies to your diet...as long as they are covered in Oil and Parmesan!

🤤🤤🤤 They have a unique and delicious cinnamon roll. Personally not a fan of the chocolate croissant but everything else I’ve tried is enjoyable! Affordable slice of pizza when I’m walking the lake and cheesy craving strikes. Usually a line, always efficient and friendly staff. Looking forward to tasting my way through the baked goods case.

I visited this bakery today and was blown away. I haven't been here in 20 years and I thought I would give it a shot. Everything I purchased was so delicious! Chocolate brownie, chocolate chip/pecan cookie, chocolate croissant, hummus, and a slice of pizza. (I didn't eat this all in one sitting 😉 ). The pizza was so fresh and delicious, I noticed that I didn't get stomach bloat like I do at Mod Pizza. The brownie was absolutely perfect, not too sweat and a balance between cakie/chocolate. The hummus is probably the best I have ever tasted. I want that recipe! I will return next weekend, it is worth the drive/traffic.

The pizza was really good. They have a different kind every day and every time I go I buy one for my friend then just eat it. If you buy cookies you will eat them all like Cookie Monster from Sesame Street.

I really appreciate this place. They have a few "wheat free" options which is their way of protecting themselves because there's flour dust on everything I'm sure. But it's good and I've never gotten sick. Good lattes too, and the place is much better now that you can sit inside again

Arizmendi Bakery is stellar. The staff are very kind and helpful. The baked goods here are consistently delicious, fresh, and overall wonderful. I recommend their focaccia as it is so great. Their pizza is fantastic and they change up the pizza of the day to give their customers a great rotation of flavors. They sell pizza by the slice, in halves, and as whole pizzas. Half of a pizza is plenty filling for two people. The bakery is well priced for the awesome quality of the items. This bakery has vegan, vegetarian, and meat options so everyone in your group can find something they’ll enjoy.

It’s fantastic! The bakery is worker owned! right on! The display cases are clean and organized and easy to access. All the breads are made daily and often sell out before the end of the day, so I would recommend an early in the day purchase versus later. A true artisans bakery with great selections. Their sourdough bread loaves to die for. Their city sourdough is terrific as is their green olive sourdough and the garlic cheddar is excellent as well. They have a great selection of scones and muffins and lots of other goodies that you would expect from a great bakery. A super nice staff behind the counter. And you can expect they’ll be a crowd. Especially on a Sunday like it was when we were there.

One of the best pizza's I've ever had! The crust is crunchy and flavorful. The toppings are not overwhelming and enhance the delicious flavors of the crust and cheese. Each topping was bursting with flavor and complementing every other topping very well. I love that there's just a few options, makes deciding easy and its always seasonal. Great, friendly helpful staff! Online ordering was very simple and their website gives you easy to follow, clear instructions. Thank you all for great food and great service!

Yessssssss! Serving full and half-baked takeaway pizzas! I've been here more times than I can count and I have never been disappointed. Never! Their toppings seem so simple, yet the flavors meld and melt in my mouth with all the complexities umami-lovers seek. This location is probably my favorite of all the Arizmendi's too, simply because the people are usually so nice. I'll be picking up my half-baked later this week - just pop it in the oven for 5-10 mins and it tastes fresh! (Instructions included.)

I love the atmosphere of Arizmendi. All of the employees are super nice. When ordering online everything is ready pretty close to the pickup time. I love their soups. I have tried a lot of their pastries and sad to say that I was disappointed. I tried the morning bun, blueberry muffin, cranberry muffin, banana walnut muffin, lacked flavor and they are dry. The first time that I tried the ginger carrot muffin it was delicious and very moist. The second time it lacked flavor and was dry. I did enjoy the bran muffin and the chocolate croissant. The pizzas are good but could use a little more toppings. I had one bad experience where the pizza had flavor and crust was like a rock. I will continue coming here for the soups and pizzas.

I used to love this bakery, but feel as if the quality has suffered over the past few months at least. The last 3 times I have stopped in for a morning pastry, it’s tasted like it was a day old. I also got a pan of banana bread that was nearly burnt and completely dry. I thought it was just me, but my friend said the same thing as well. I even got a pizza today but the dough didn’t taste completely baked through. I hope they step it back up.

Just do yourself a favor and go already! It's an Oakland staple - everything is incredibly fresh, good ingredients, and plus, their daily pizzas are to die for. My favorite for a long time was their dark chocolate raspberry scone, and I don't even like fruit and chocolate together! Do be aware that they only bake a certain amount of each thing, so they will run out sometimes. A must try!

Hands down the best local gourmet pizza with a rotating menu of daily options that will make your mouth water. Great bakery and pastry selection. It's great spot for a very very casual breakfast, lunch or dinner! Can't recommend enough. They sell half baked pizzas that freeze great as well.

This place is always super packed with people! My friend told me they’re amazing, so we went and got half a pizza and some lentil soup. The soup was unexpectedly spicy, but good. The pizza is always amazing, no matter what it is. And for a place that gets so busy, they really crank out the food pretty efficiently.

Absolutely the best bakery! The pizza special changes everyday but is always a winner and the baked goods are amazing. Great tea and coffee drinks simple and high quality for the win.
