Prices have gone up, quality has gone down. Haemul pajon used to be good, now there is too much flour filler. I won't order again.

Came here on Sunday afternoon and it was a little bit crowded but their service was pretty fast. We ordered stir fried rice cake (which was so delicious), and combination of assorted soon tofu soup & spicy pork bulgogi. The soup was good but I expected more punch on the flavor. Spicy pork bulgogi met my expectation. Side dishes were all flavorful.

I don’t typically venture outside my favorite tried-and-true korean places but I was on this side of town and saw they had good reviews. The environment is nice and menu was good but after sitting down, jamming out to the kpop televised on the tv waiting to order, I realized that the people working there are not Korean. This is relevant because I realized that this is not an authentic korean restaurant. Besides the staff not understanding my orders in korean (I’m fluent) the banchan was horrible (3 things, super generic) and the food was mediocre. Not authentic except the meat was grilled kbbq style. All in all, felt strange to eat at a korean place that’s not authentically Korean. Won’t be coming back again.

The food is good. As soft tofu soup goes it’s astoundingly average, but still worthwhile. The panchan dishes aren’t as plentiful or creative as they used to be. And the barbecue selections are decent. Three stars means it’s good, but has lots to do in order to be better than just good. When you want Korean that’s “good enough”, you’ll be pleased.

Absolutely do not recommend. Received tofu soup with shrimp that had not been deveined, whole thing reeked and tasted of ammonia and intense fishy smell. The vegetables (such as the carrots) in the bibimbap were rubbery and tasted unpleasant; Either prepped too far in advance or left in the fridge for a very long time. MSG content on the gochujang sauce was excessive in my opinion but I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of the sauce so no hate there. The beef was lacking flavor and had multiple pieces with gristle- Not what I've come to expect from good Korean restaurants. I have had good experiences with food in Portland ever since I moved here but this is unfortunately the most unpleasant meal I had yet. Preparation was just fine, but the ingredient quality bordered on hazardous! Skip it or order something you already know is good. Definitely avoid the tofu soup on account of the shrimp having the poop veins still in them. I'm sure the BBQ side of things is at least a bit better, but I don't think I'll be coming back to find out.

I was super excited to have found this place and figured this was the same chain I used to go to in Los Angeles. We ordered a ton of food for a large family dinner and picked up. Honestly some dishes were good (meat dishes) but the signature dish, the tofu soup, really missed the mark. The flavor wasn’t good and we all agreed we wouldn’t return here.

SO GOOD!!! Our server was really helpful for our first time being here. It was so good dude!! Very filling you literally need one meat to feed 2 people lol

Meat selection is great and tasty! Quick service, very clean, calm atmosphere. More pricey than other bbq places but the quality of the meat and marinade evens it out.

Soondoobu was nasty. No flavor.. tofu was sour.. just ruined my tastebuds… the rice was mushy.. the bahnchan was gross… Dont waste your money.. better off buying the kit at hmart.. dont know why this place has such high reviews 정말 맛없습니다 리뷰에 속지마세요

With all the choices of Korean restaurant in PDX I would pass up this place. The service is slow and the prices are way more expensive to other restaurants. The amount of ban chan ( side dishes are limited to 3 items) and soups were very expensive for what you get.

I am from LA. As a tourist, I was craving for Korean hot-boiling foods since it was raining in Portland. I tried Soontofu here. It tasted so bad. Literally, it tasted below the average. I don't know about other foods because I only tried Soontofu here. Even if I got used to LA's ktown foods, I can still tell whether it's average or below the average. Besides that, their side dishes (Banchan) were so limited as other reviewers already mentioned here. They really need to rework on the taste and food quality of soontofu in order to prosper their business. However, the staffs were nice and attentive. Service was good.

Very good Korean BBQ restaurant. Pork bulgogi is outstanding. Real Korean restaurant and food, not a plastic one. All of the staff are Korean. Most of the customers are Korean. Best Korean in Portland.

Great Korean place from Portland. As a person from Seattle I was skeptical of trying Korean food in Portland because I couldn’t find anything that looked good on yelp. Coming here was a good decision. The people are friendly and there is lots of flavor in their meat, their prices are affordable. I would say it’s not better than ant Seattle place I ate at. I would come back!

Overpriced Korean food. Food was decent, but I think for what you get, it’s too much money. If you’re desperate for Korean food, come here. Banchan was limited and service was so-so. I’ll continue looking for the best Korean restaurant in Portland. If you’re Korean, you will cry at the prices due to inflation.

Their food is good, but their prices are out of control. I ordered the Chicken Bulgogi and it was $23.95 for a medium sized plate, white rice and three small sides. We ordered veggie egg rolls for $8.00, and they were decent but a bit pricey for four (medium-small) rolls. There are less expensive Korean restaurants out there, that give you more value for the money. Date of visit: Friday, September 16, 2022.
