I’ve had the same obnoxious noise complaint for over 6 months. Two office team members have even witnessed the noise. Nothing has been done about it. They say they will get back to you, but lie and don’t. Walls are very very thin. I’ve lived in a more populated complex than this without this much noise. They went up $200 on my rent without even fixing the noise complaint. Office team does not do what they say they are going to do.

Admin/reception office is completely not customer service oriented... take care of balloons before their tenants... also cleanliness at their desks is beautiful... but dont expect the same in the common areas (bbq area, patio, pool water)... even after bringing it to their attn more than once...

We moved into The Southerly more than a year ago and absolutely enjoy living here. The perks are being in a great location near shopping malls, grocery stores; having good floor plans, and great amenities. But the best part is having such a great Southerly Office Team. Tim Toussaint, Asst. Property Manager, is always friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and most helpful with addressing any concerns we may have. He goes the extra mile. The Southerly Team keeps us well-informed of any upcoming maintenance work and also lets us know when fun activities are scheduled. Our first Christmas here, we entered the door decorating contest and won! It was a great way to start off in our new home. Tae-Li, also here when we moved in, has consistently been kind and responsive. The new manager, Tia, seems to really care about the conditions of the building and is very pleasant. She gets involved, even stopped by to check out an issue we had along with the Maintenance Team. Speaking of Andrew and Leroy, who are two of the best. They don't keep you waiting and respond to work order requests pretty quickly for such a large building. They are pleasant and don't mind addressing other issues. Just remember to put your work order request in to give them credit for the great work they do! The Southerly Team's response during COVID was commendable with adding sanitation dispensers and providing guidance for using the fitness room and other common use areas. This team has shown great customer service! I highly recommend The Southerly.

I've had the pleasure of living here for the past two or so years. I first rented out a 1BR then moved to a 2BR apartment. I am sad to leave this complex as I am moving out of state. That being said this review will hit the points that I take into account day to day. First of all the management and maintenance staff are one of the strongest points of living here. Ashley and her team are very accommodating. Communication is kept open and I've never encountered a problem with reaching out when there is an issue. Mail is handled through convenient amazon mailboxes, a standard mail room, and any larger packages are handled by the leasing office. Never any issues here. The office allows you to use their storage carts as well if you need to haul larger items to your room. Now on to the rooms themselves. The appliances are all modern and convenient to use. HVAC is well maintained. My room stays the temperature I want it to, and I can even schedule cooling/heating times throughout the day. All cabinets and drawers are fitted with nice soft close drawer slides which for me is an extremely nice touch. It's hard finding another neighboring apartment complex with this feature. The rooms are spacious and the balconies extend your living space. Kitchens are easy to work with. The dark hardwood floor is beautiful and adds even more uniqueness to our living space. Bathrooms are quite large and fitted with a good amount of storage space. I usually have the TV on or headphones in when in my room so noise isn't usually an issue with me. That being said, the noise can travel from the floor above/below you. Trash can be handled by a valet service or there are separate trash rooms located in every floor. Guidelines to use these services are easy to follow. Overall the rooms have an abundance of storage space. Each bedroom fitted with a walk-in closet. The apartment also offers storage units for anyone that needs extra. Parking is garaged and convenient. Getting in and out of the garage is simple. Management assigns spots on your floor so the walk to and from the car is never a hassle. If you know how to drive correctly, you should have no problem maneuvering the garage even during peak hours. Large blind spot mirrors have also been fitted in the garage to help you out even more here. Comparing this to neighboring garage situations, I would confidently rate it above average. Amenities are also an extra. Lobby is kept clean. I never have an issue with security and safety. The apartment complex is new and management seems really put in effort to make change in the right direction.

There is horrible management and then the Southerly says hold my beer. If you want a pest infested, constant noise from garbage trucks, poor communications then this is the place for you. I’ve never seen an apartment complex this horrible.

I am a disabled vet and was looking for a convenient location due to my disability. Although the facility is absolutely beautiful, my wife and I had to withdraw our application because of how awfully unprofessional the office personnel are. I believe we were discriminated against because we are a mixed race couple. Very unfortunate because I would have loved to enjoy the apartment complex.

Please dont let some previous comments fool you. The Southerly is a terrible living experience. Probably find better luck at the Towson east motel. Contrary to a few posts, the building is not well maintained at all. Things are constantly broke and never fixed. Bring it to managements attention, and you’ll be met with a shrug or its “not a priority for us right now”. The building is not the safest either. No cameras work besides right in the lobby area. Random people come in and use amenities and common space areas and steal. Since the garage door is constantly broke, shady activities take place in the parking garage. Obviously its a for profit complex , but the manager is completely out of touch on residents needs to enhance living experience. Priority is on fines, front door balloons and unnecessary fees. Concerns brought forward are disregarded, ignored, and often ridiculed. Never followed through. Almost come bearing with gifts because leasing acts as if they are doing you a favor by being bothered to talk to you about pressing building issues. Even just walk though the main lobby and you’ll hear staff gossip about residents not realizing sound carries. Towson has so many options. Definitely can do better than what Southerly brings to the table

Living at the Southerly has been great. I’ve been here almost a year and I have no complaints and only praise. To make it simple and digestible, I’ll list out things that I look out for in apartments that were met here: - modern, well kept units (large tub, granite countertops, breakfast bar, large sink, and effective dishwasher) - on-time regular air filter replacements (scheduled, so w/o submitting a request) - incredibly fast, friendly, and trustworthy maintenance team; Rich and Leroy are unmatched (maintenance requests are addressed within a day usually) - responsive and informed management team (s/o to Tim Toussaint) - cameras in the parking garage - close by parking spot to my unit - accessible street parking - package lockers (and option for package drop off at the leasing office) - dog washing station for those with pups! You won’t make a mistake signing a lease here. It has been a seamless process.

I’ve been here for a month and so far my experience has been very pleasant from the application process to having maintenance make some minor but very swift improvements. Tim has been very helpful, welcoming and polite and has made my move a great and smooth experience. The space is beautiful and very well maintained. It’s typically peaceful and quiet. The area is great with a mall in walking distance and plenty of other shopping within 10 min. My unit is also in a convenient location making it easy to come and go with ease, grab my packages etc. I absolutely love it here!

I had a very pleasant experience living here! The apartment was beautiful and the all of the staff were always accommodating and friendly. Aside from the garage doors constantly being broken, I have no complaints.

The southerly has honestly provided me with a great place to call home. The entire office staff is knowledgeable, personable and extremely helpful. They know all of the residents on a first name basis and you will be greeted every time you walk past the leasing office . My dog Lola loves the staff and they make her smile every morning. They even offer a dog washing room with so that you can bathe your dog and have everything you need! The building is kept in great condition, and cleaned every morning. The property is well kept, the apartments are spacious with renovated layouts, and updated appliances . The valet trash is really efficient and convenient . The maintenance men are friendly and so helpful. I really love living here, I had a situation where I needed to move asap and with the help of the Southerly I had keys in 2 days. Kim made the process so easy for me and assisted through every step of the way. If you’re looking for luxury living in Towson, you found it ! We have 24 hour access to the game room, and courtyard, more importantly there is late night security staff. This building is very safe and secure, with a fully closed garage and key fob entry. Located next to multiple grocery stores , gas station, and convenience stores are walking distance. Literally love living here !
