I was pleasantly surprised about this little gem in Ellicott City. This was the original owner of the Niko in Normandy shopping center who was running a great operation there until it was shut down. I ordered a boat if sushi and it had fresh fish with decent flavored rice. The uni was a nice touch which we ordered a la carte

Sub par for the price. I've paid $11 for a bento box at a different Japanese restaurant and it came with chicken teriyaki, California roll, rice, vegetable tempura, small salad and dumplings. But I had to pay $17.85 for this mess. I wouldn't be against the price if they maybe included at least 1 pcs of sushi but I guess not.

Sushi and sashimi was good. Waitress messed up our order because of the language barrier. Sesame house sauce on the salad not good and tasted like peanut dressing.

Food was really good and it was filling but a lil heart can b put in the service…orange white roll and Double trouble were delicious and so were the veggie noodles with a perfect crunch of broccoli & toasted sesame seeds. We were asked for drinks before even taking a seat and didn’t even ask if we wanted any dessert.

I came to Niko Restuarant with my family, and we were greeted and felt very welcomed by Howard, the sushi chef/owner. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very peaceful with some decorations, and there is music softly playing in the background. We were seated promptly, and the menu is very straight forward with two sides. There is a separate a la carte menu that you need to ask for that lists all the various special rolls and nigiri pieces. The prices are very reasonable for the sushi, and they also serve hot food for those who don't eat sushi. The sushi taste very fresh, and I would highly recommend the Chirashi Sushi because it contains a good amount of variety with enough fish to serve one person. I will definitely be returning to Niko Restaurant whether it's dining in or taking out.

Loved Niko! Came with my family, and we tried the Katsu Donburi, the Chirashi, and some sushi rolls. Everything was delicious, came out quickly and we were served with friendly faces and smiles. When they heard we were celebrating a birthday, we were given ice cream on the house to celebrate too. Highly recommend, will be back!

The sushi, sashimi, roll platter for three people hit the spot. I couldn't have asked for a better meal at the time. The ingredients were very fresh and the service was very friendly. I will definitely come back in the future.

The special today was double trouble roll and it was awesome! Basically everything we got was really good. They had some really good flavor combinations. Service was a little slow but they apologized so maybe that is not norm. We will definitely be headed back!

Clean, sushi are fresh, but not something special. Pricing is not bad. The most I like in that Japaneese style restaraunt is their big cup of hot tea (like fountain drink), which smells like a fresh morning cofee. Is it really japaneese style?

I really like their C Platter. Excellent selections, experienced sushi chefs, and affordable prices. Excellent service as well.

The female staff working is really unfriendly and the attitude towards customers is the worst. I won't go back again. I am surprised once again by your blatant lies.I called 2 times. When I placed an order, I asked about the price several times and placed an order. When I placed my order, my friends heard it.I'm really shocked to see you guys taking the wrong order and busy making excuses to your customers. I believe that basic services should be provided to customers.Don't blame your customers for your faults.

I am not the best person to review a Japanese restaurant. As a vegan, there were few options. That being said, my kids enjoyed their sushi and the restaurant is clearly popular with people who know a lot more about sushi than I do.

Best sushi, sashimi, combo boxes period! The owner is a very nice, friendly guy. I have been going to Niko since 2015 and the quality is still great. Prices have gone up but that’s mainly due to inflation. I am glad they are still in business with Covid and all. This my favorite restaurant in Maryland for Japanese food.

I personally think the restaurant is fantastic! I've been here multiple times and each time the employees are very friendly. Me and my family enjoy this place very much and personally recommend it. The restaurant is very comfortable and had a bit of a cozy and calm feeling. 😁

Best sushi in Ellicott City!! We came with a large party and they were very accommodating. They have a very diverse menu with great sushi and a lot of other dishes as well. Highly recommend!!!

Sushi is decent, a bit on the smaller side. However, especially for a Japanese restaurant, they did their hot tea DIRTY (figuratively). - No options on types of tea - Came in a coca cola glass - Smells like coffee - Color and taste proves it's 80% water Went at a not busy time but both of the tables around me ordered hot tea. I saw an elderly couple react by asking each other to smell each other's tea before cautiously sipping it, then leaving it aside for the rest of their meal. Seems like everyone else was disappointed by it too.

In my opinion, this is the best sushi in Maryland. Incredible quality, wonderful service, and a very laid-back setting. Every time I go to a different sushi restaurant, I always end up wishing i was here instead. All the staff are very nice and welcoming, and the service is always pretty quick. If you're just looking for great sushi without all the frills, this is the perfect place for you.

My family and I did not feel welcomed entering this restaurant. We still ordered due to our night plans and the food was subpar. Four out of 6 of my sushi were inedible due to shrimp shells.

My first (and last) visit to this sushi restaurant after reading some good reviews. Seated at the sushi bar I had the sushi deluxe entree and it was just okay. But then (and this completely grossed me out) I noticed the sushi chef was chewing food, coughed, and a small piece of food came out of his mouth onto the food prep area. I sat (grossed out) and observed for a few more minutes and the chef coughed several more times. Never did he leave the food prep area nor cover his mouth. Absolutely GROSS! I usually don't write reviews but I felt this needed to be said. I will never eat at this place again because that memory will never leave my brain.
