It has been many, many years since I’ve been to Planks. A recent visit to Columbus brought me back to the German Village area and Planks was a MUST visit destination. I was delighted to see that it is exactly as it was 15 years ago. The interior is cozy, the waitstaff friendly and efficient, and the pizza is delicious. If you haven’t had Planks Pizza you are missing out. It has a fabulous thin, cracker-y crust. It has just a hint of sweetness to it. They deck it out with crispy pepperoni from edge to edge and slice it up St. Louis style.

Planks is a classic PIZZA EXPERIENCE with a old fashioned college sports bar theme since 1939. If you love the nostalgic look enviro and superb crisp thin crust pizza with a great sweet bread crust……DIG IN.

If you are a sports nut, or a pizza nut, this is the place for you. It kind of reminds me of the fictional bar on the tv show “Cheers”. Very welcoming, efficient service, delicious pizza, great ambiance (mostly Ohio State memorabilia, but a lot of other schools, too… one maize and blue school not represented he he he!). You owe it to yourself to visit!

Convenient walking distance from our AirBnB (thank u Ethan <3). Doesn’t strike you as a neat bar on the outside, but the inside is full of love and life. Nice wait staff… except they didn’t warn us when we embarrassed ourselves by trying to walk out of a side door that was locked. Oof was that #cringe D’oh! Got deals. I don’t know if it was happy hour or Sunday deals but apps and pizzas were $2 off. 5 stars for the restaurant but only 4 stars for my wife who ate our entire slice of cake without sharing. But you know how it is, happy wife happy life.

Pizza was delicious! I also got the sweet potato fries which were great as well. Only gripe I have is our waitress didn't tell us about their deal if you order a $9.95 app, you get the pizza 50% off. I overheard a waitress telling the table next to us so that definitely would've been nice to know!

Nearly 90 year old restaurant near German Village with much more than pizza. Great apps, sandwiches, pizza and atmosphere. Love watching football 🏈 games here. Super friendly staff. Pam is an excellent server!

I absolutely love this place. My family had a surprise BD for me here because they knew I really like the food. I have always had good food and service, but this time was nothing I've ever experienced. On a Friday at 5pm and the food, service, and atmosphere was impeccable. Their pizza is ALWAYS the exact same quality and our server (18yrs old😲) was so good and a blast to have. If you've not been here, then get going!!

The food is amazing. You have to try the pizza. Friendly service grate atmosphere. Grate place to grab I bite to eat. Third generation business. You'll find the owner working just like everyone else. Nice guy will take the time to talk to you.

Planks is a local dive that has a quirky but well liked pizza style. It wasn't for me unfortunately. It was also a bummer they more than halved the back room which makes for a very tight space for entertaining a large group. If you're into local sports and local scenes, this is a great place.

Took a long weekend in Columbus, Ohio. Went to Planks every day even if we went to other places. The service, food, and atmosphere was great!!!! Never had a bad meal. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pizza was delicious!!! The staff was incredibly friendly!!! I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Columbus.

My wife and I enjoy going to Plank's on a weekly basis. The owners and staff make you feel welcome and love to talk to customers. We look forward to having lunch.. The food is excellent.

Great service and atmosphere. The food was delicious. Pizza sauce a little sweet but better pizza than anything in Georgia. The sub and fries were good as well. The German Chocolate cake was decent, little aftertaste you get from frozen cake but the coffee offered with it made it perfect.

My review is only on the taste of the pizza. The size per price is reasonable but sadly the taste. Ordered two pies, pepperoni and cheese and they both tasted like someone s̶p̶r̶i̶n̶k̶l̶e̶d̶ Poured a ton of sugar on them. Personally that made it unedible and my friends and I just threw it away. I probably won't try it again either. So make sure you ask to not make the pizza sweet.

Great little bar to get some pizza!! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The pizza tasted great, and was nice and shareable; cut into lots of little squares. The crust is thin and crispy, and the sauce is sweet. We just ordered a simple pepperoni but I’d go back and order one again!

It's about the za for me. i like their flavor best in c-bus. i have less heartburn after. great with soda. I'm certain their other food is great, too.

Grabbed an order of garlic breadsticks and a large hot stuff speciality pizza. Crust was sweet which my family enjoyed with the spiciness of the pizza we selected. The pizza came out a little under cooked which made transfer to plates tricky, a very minor issue. The wait staff were phenomenal and they were preparing to host a private party for about 2/3 of the available dining space. With all of that activity we were well taken care of throughout our experience. Would definitely go back and take advantage of 1/2 off pizzas on Mondays 5-10!

GREEN BEER!! Happy St Patty's day! Great way to spend it 🍀 great customer service with old school 'tabs' kept for orders. Delicious sweet potato fries with brown sugar butter dipping sauce. Lots of seating. Unique layout and atmosphere with lots of Ohio/Columbus memorabilia. Would visit again!

Had been a while since I visited this restaurant. It was the best meal I have had in a long time. The waitress was friendly and attentive. My husband especially appreciated the desserts I brought home for him: German chocolate cake and Boston Cream pie - his favorites.

Love the pizza overall, but I'm a fan of a more robust yet still sweet type of pizza crust and/or sauce. This was just a little too much on the sweet side for my taste buds, but it was still VERY delicious and I would eat it again! So, I will definitely be ordering again in the future with my co-workers, but next time I'm trying the wings! Them things look and smell BOMB! 💣 P.S. I cannot remember her name to save my life, but the woman that took my order over the phone was awesome! She was so very sweet and patient. She was also on her first day (if I remember correctly) behind the bar and she did GREAT with my call-in order! 👏👍Thanks for the overall great experience! P.S.S. The delivery driver was super nice and friendly as well! A++ on customer service!

Best pizza ever!! Delivery is usually great. When dinning in some of the staff can be rude sadly they are all part of the Plank family. And beer is ridiculously overpriced.. $4 for a can.. yes $4 for a 12oz can of Budweiser.

I have been eating Planks pizza for several decades & it’s always been my go-to favorite. However, something has really gone downhill during 2023. I’m hoping the owners/management/someone who will do what’s necessary to get Planks back to its exceptional quality will see this comment and do something. Until then, I won’t be a Planks customer anymore.

Breakfast sandwich was good, the appetizer pretzels were good, I've had 3 of their pizzas so far. The "Hot Stuff" pizza is really good and my favorite so far. Its spicy but not so much you can't taste the favors of the pizza.

Probably the rudest customer service I e ever experienced! I get it your restaurant is located in a poor neighborhood doesn’t mean you have to have a poor attitude while taking an order . After placing me order with the rude sob I decided to allow them to prepare the order with no chance in hell of ever picking it up . Since he waited my time I waisted your product and inventory. Trash server so I know the food was trash .

Our server Bobby was great and the bartender (didn't get his name as our table was called) was friendly and professional. This was Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the place was packed but good came out not and as ordered. A fun place with reasonable prices

I have been at Plank's twice, three weeks apart. The first time was for lunch and then for dinner. I ordered the same pepperoni pizza both times and was served two very different pizzas. The first one was great but when I went back for dinner I was served a completely undercooked and doughy pizza that was not edible. Maybe it was a one time thing but It threw me off and I won't take the risk again.

I ordered a pizza and paid almost $30 today, It was dry, only toppings in the middle and it was cold. Planks on Parson use to be awesome but the only that is going upwards is the price. The pizza’s are HORRIBLE!
