Meya was my hairdresser and she did a gorgeous job on my hair she dyed the front blonde and the back she dyed black as well. Then she cut and blow dry my hair. Dianna the supervisor guided her in a professional manner and caring style of teaching. I will absolutely come back even though I traveled from Manhattan to Staten Island it was well worth the trip.

I took both my children here. My daughter (9) had a bad experience once at a salon so was super nervous. The staff here was fabulous and made her feel special. Since this is a learning facility, every step is overseen. My daughter thought they were just taking extra special care of her and making her look beautiful. My son (6) sat great for his stylist and wanted a keep more on top than a typical barber buzz. They cut and styled him so handsome he was smiling hard. Great group of ppl, highly recommend.

I am a retired teacher and it helps to save money...At my age , hair makes a big difference in appearance....I had a few good experiences a few years ago....I have been going to salons for 40 yrs...so I know a little.....I do know these are students and they are supposedly supervised and READY for clients.....well 1 '1/2 yrs ago my roots were done so badly . they used the wrong color or tone and my roots had a yellow green tinge and I THANKFULLY was able to fix it with a box color from the pharmacy.........I tried again but only a wash and blow..giving them another try and thinking a wash a blow is safe..Well My hair looks awful. My hair is thick with some wave but can be blown straight..and with a professional my hair looks Asian....the girl was trying to curl it and it went every which way......when I went to pay the girl behind the counter held back a laugh...I should not have been charged these times...but I paid and gave them good tips for the effort..But thinking back...the teachers did not say anything and hardly supervised...no self respecting salon or school would let a client leave looking worse than when they came in......I also noticed one teacher with such long nails she could not hold her pen properly to write.......this was a small detail that was a red flag.....so today...I was thinking of trying again JUST a blow out...perhaps I would have better luck but the thought of the cashier holding back a giggle....and no one caring...I decided to go a few blocks .pay 40 plus a 10 dollar tip...and look and feel great..Yes, these are students...I am in my 60s..I was a teacher...but at Aveda's school the students are better supervised..if you are using me to practice and are so bad at it then do not charge.

I currently attend Paul Mitchell the school NYC soon to be graduate :) it hasn’t once been a disappointment. I’ve met my forever friends here. This is like a second home/family to me. Diana the director is one of the most positive people you’ll ever meet, you’ll never catch her without a smile on her face! Carmella was my core teacher and she definitely prepared my class and I on what we should expect when being on the clinic floor. Deanna and Marie are my theory and clinic floor teachers. They have been so helpful throughout my journey here! You’re not alone when you’re on the floor. The learning leaders are always there watching you making sure you’re doing okay and if you need help they come right over and assist you. When you first walk into the building you’re greeted by Sam who is extremely welcoming and helpful. She’s very informative and helps out a lot about product knowledge! Not only is this a cosmetology school but there’s also an Esthetician program taught by Christine with all top of the line products and skin services, that can address all of your skins needs. If you’re looking to attend a cosmetology school this is definitely the one! My insta is @hairbymialocurto if you wanna check me out ;))

Graduated here in November of 2021 as a day school student. Paul Mitchell is a brand dedicated to excellence not only in the technical skills of their future professionals but their soft skills as well and you will find that to be true when visiting for a quick blowout out or any other service. As for the curriculum and staff, no matter what school you go to, the attitude that you have going in will determine your experience throughout the program. If you consider this to be your career and not a side gig or just something to do to make your parents happy, I can assure you that you will make your time here worth while. Diana Varvaro was an excellent learning leader when I attended and now she is a super star director. When you put your all into the school and your future career I promise you it will give you back the same energy and more. Because of the connections I made throughout my time here I have been able to be apart of amazing events like the International Beauty Show and that’s just the beginning. Believe it or not, some of the clients I took in school still book with me not that I moved on to greater endeavors. 10/10 am very thankful for my time here as a blossoming cosmetologist and love to pop back in from time to time for a service or two. Attached are pictures of some of my favorite clients from my time there.

Today was my first time getting my hair done at Paul Mitchell's and it was a lovely experience! My hair is not the easiest to work on and Emily nailed it! It was a lot of fun! Diana was on top of things and Rachel was there to learn, observe and she also helped with putting on the color on my hair. They all listened to what i would like done, gave me an advice and did a great job! We had a lot of great conversations, laughed and had a great time - at least i did! I will definitely come back, as a matter of fact I already made another appointment!

I recently had a facial done by Kristina and I am obsessed! My skin has never looked better. She was so sweet and taught me so much about skincare in such a short amount of time. I have a whole new routine I love. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend!

I recently graduated from Paul Mitchell The School NYC from the esthetics program and I had a great experience! I had the best teacher, Christine Falco. She is so intelligent and experienced. She pushed every one of us in the best way possible to accomplish our dreams. I’ve never had such a great teacher in my life and she made my experience great, which I’m so thankful for!

I recently graduated from Paul Mitchell and Christine, the esthetics teacher, is an amazing teacher and person. She is constantly pushing all of her students to be the best they can be. She is passionate and wants to share her knowledge with everyone. She has got to know all of us on a personal level and has taught us beyond the curriculum. She makes sure we are confident in our skills and always comfortable. The esthetics program wouldn’t be what it is without Christine and I’m so thankful that she was my teacher.
