Incredible view of Manhattan in the back. Ask for the patio! The mix platter was incredible, especially the most delicious grape leaves I’ve ever had! Bring your own beer and wine and they will gladly uncork and poor it for you. Thank you, Hunkar! We’ll be back!

The food was good but the service was just bad. I can surely say that i am never going here inspite of the good food they have just because the service was just terrible.

First time was there and we really enjoyed it. We tried iskender and it was incredibly delicious. Appetizers were so tasty and I can't find a word for their yummy rice pudding. Everything was great friendly staff, nice place we will be back soon..

Amazing food and service! We walked in and luckily we were early enough they were able to accommodate us. We were in the front area. It was cozy, no complaints. But next time (TIP) we will make reservations for the back room. It has a beautiful view of NYC! Our orders: As it was cold we ordered Lentil Soup which was good Stuffed Eggplant is a must order so good! Beware the pepper on top. Bronzino was so good, crispy skin and tender flesh, well seasoned and comes with a salad Hunkar Begendi - A classic Istanbul dish - lamb chunks cooked in tomato sauce, served on eggplant puree blended with cheese. Very good, I do not like lamb but this was clean and had no gamey taste Will definitely come to get a table in the back and try other items!

I have been to this restaurant only once. The back room was unfortunately closed, so I can not comment on the view that they have on the website. But the food and the service was good. Overall cozy environment and we enjoyed our dinner there. Staff are nice. I would go there again.

Best Mediterranean restaurants in the locality. We had pita and hummus and a fried egg plant dip absolutely delicious. The chicken with yoghurt and the grill with rice and salad both tasted very good. We took the walnut dessert which we loved. Not too sweet but rich and smooth. They have a BYOD of wine with some changes but it’s great. Atmosphere is great staff are friendly. It’s not easy to I corporate so much flavour into minced meat their chicken was too good!

Good food and service! First time I ordered from this restaurant; I ordered the Erik Bamya which is an entree that includes pieces of lamb with baby okra in tomato sauce that comes with rice. The tomato sauce is very acidic and flavorful. I did not like how the rice was not proportional with the entree serving. It was a small serving of rice. They gave me a lot of good quality bread which was hot and crispy at the time of pick-up. I enjoyed that. The staff was friendly, helpful and quick to serve when I walked in. I will give this place another try in the future.

On a Saturday night, we had a little gathering for 2. I must admit that I didn't anticipate it being so fantastic! I can now guarantee that you will adore the hummus because they add something different from the traditional one. All of the components on our mixed grill were lovely, delectable, and a good size. Our waiter, Ugur, was such a nice and helpful guy; request him to brighten your night. We will very definitely come back.

I had my baby shower here yesterday. Me, my family and friends had such an amazing time. The food was top notch from appetizers to main course. We were in their private party room area, if you have an event coming up definitely call and speak to Sercan to book your event. You wont regret it. The view is amazing, service is amazing, they provide you ipad and speakers so you can enjoy the music you would like and dance! I cant even express how grateful I am to have my very special day at their restaurant.

Today was our friends anniversary and we took them out for Brunch. Starting off with the parking, there is not a parking lot, but street parking is available and it was easy to find. Going into the restaurant there is 1 step and no wheelchair ramp. Once you are in the restaurant the staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant is very homie feeling and you feel so comfortable. We chose to sit in the back of the restaurant on the enclosed deck area with the view of NYC. Unfortunately we were not able to come at dinner time to get the view with the city lit up at night. But day or night it feels like you are in a tree house when you are there. For Brunch we ordered a few different dishes, we had the salmon steak, shish filet mignon, lamb shank, and lamb shish. The salmon was a very large portion and the filet and lamb shish was very tender. My favorite was the lamb shank and if I was to go back again that is what I would order. Everything on the menu is halal but if you are a vegetarian they have many dishes that you would be able to choose from.

By far the best Turkish restaurant in NJ as far as I'm concerned, great food- got the Hunkar mix grill and baklava.Everything was very fresh and delicious.Friendly staff and really nice atmosphere our table was on the patio that has a nice view of NYC.Great experience I highly recommend going there whenever you crave the best Mediterranean food

This is my favorite place! Its really a hidden gem. The food is delicious, the service is out of this world. My favorite dish is the adana kebab, and chicken shish. Everything is fresh and perfectly cooked. The chef is really talented. Looking forward to coming back for family events.

I recently dined at Hunkar, a Turkish restaurant in New Jersey, and was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptional, boasting unique and delicious flavors. The service was fast and attentive. This food was amazing..the hummus was excellent and didn't taste like any other hummus I've had. I've had hummus in Greece and Israel and this hummus beats that hummus hands down. The food is SUPERB and the best part of the restaurant was the service. The owner and his sons were bringing out the food and kept checking on us and even gave us a complimentary appetizer. Definitely will be back again!!

Food was great and staff was friendly. I really tried to have an abundance of patience with the service with current labor struggles but there has to be a limit. If you cannot service all your tables in a decent time frame/with regularity then as a restaurant you should not fill the tables and turn people away. Would probably be five stars if not for the slow service and basic disregard for our table as they got busier.

I highly recommend Hunkar Restaurant. It’s my go to Mediterranean restaurant. The staff is so friendly and the food is flavorful and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Shepard salad and zucchini pancakes as an appetizer. I promise you’ll be craving those zucchini pancakes; they are so good! Oh! And if you are an adventurous eater try the fried liver. It is my go to for an appetizer or main course. Speaking of main course, the shish kebabs are prime! Tonight I tried the Hunkar begendi with chicken and… boy was it yummy. If you aren’t convinced this is a great restaurant, you truly are missing out.

Well Ladies and Gentleman, Is not to often that I feel to write a review; But in this case I emphatically need to mention that this might be one of the Best Dining Experiences I had… The Quality and Flavor of these food it’s truly AMAZING… You can definitely taste the love and devotion into the food… I was amazed of the flavor as well as the presentation… I would definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone that wants to have an amazing Mediterranean Dinning Experience… and by the way the attention and services is equally great…!

Amazing Turkish food and service . The atmosphere is great too. Very comfortable and they have a view of NYC in the back . Its covered but has an outdoor feeling with the beautiful view . I went with my friend she loved the food too .We both ordered chicken kabobs and we shared zucchini pancakes. I ordered the Greek salad with pomegranate dressing . We were all full with some leftovers. I will return here to try other food on the menu . I highly recommend coming here .
