My wife and I stayed for our anniversary and it was perfect. The room wasn't large, but had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Our patio area was off the pool and it was like that was our patio. It's nice how the area is very private and the fact it's not a large/busy hotel adds to the private feel. You don't have to wait for a chair to become available. We also got massages at the Spa on site, and it was amazing. Very nice with a large, private hot pool separate hot tub in a tropical setting. Dinner was at the Riverview Restaurant and everything we had was great. Service all the way around was friendly and helpful. Our first visit, but it won't be our last, a hidden gem.

Planned a visit for our anniversary and enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful and the rooms quite unique. Unfortunately, our friend had arranged to prepay for most of the room fee and asked for a card to be left for us indicating the gift and wishing us a happy celebration. While the credit was apparently applied, we were unaware as the balance was billed to ‘the card on file.’ This made for a very awkward conversation when it was mentioned to us, as we had not been able to thank our friend properly. As an independent inn, it’s unfortunate they couldn’t have made the small extra effort for us.

*Note:* I didn’t stay at the hotel because it was undergoing whole property renovations when I stumbled across this absolute gem of a property. Husband and I were trying to find parking for our destination: the neighboring Grille at Riverview. Parked in the lot for the hotel with the signs: “Parking for Hotel Guests Only.” So we ventured into the lobby of the hotel to ask whether there was designated parking for the restaurant. The historic property is gorgeous and obviously period without being dated or stuffy. The lobby boasted a bevy of handcrafted and artisan sale items, all tastefully displayed. The two staff I encountered were both exceptionally polite, helpful and knowledgable. I am enthused to book a trip with them in the future but absolutely suggest a stop-in to enjoy the lobby and wares.

Great little rooms, so cute and plenty of room. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, on the river but a short walk to the beach. The shops and restaurants were all amazing. Will definitely be back!

I stayed here for three days in December of 2022 while I visited family for Christmas. Online this place looks amazing, but looks can be deceiving. My room lacked amenities. There wasn't a mini fridge to store leftover food or keep snacks. I borrowed an ice chest from family to fill this need. The bathroom did not have a fan or window that opened. There was a moldy black stain on the shower window. The room itself was musty. I needed to keep my balcony door open as much as I could stand (given I was there during the very cold days reaching ~ 30 degrees). The balcony was not private. Other guests could easily access my space. This is a safety issue as it seemed to be accessible by the public in general. I could not sleep with my balcony door open for fresh air in the musty room. My bed was one of the worst hotel mattresses I have ever slept on and I am still dealing with ailments from the discomfort. It was an old, sunken spring mattress with hardly any blankets. The sheets were cheap polyester- gross. Also, the hot tub was located in the separate spa, which was not accessible to guests without an additional purchase. Overall, I felt misled and regret my decision to stay rather than leave the first night. The only positives were the location and bikes for guests. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this hotel. The cost is too high for what is offered. I encourage them to invest in the property and bring it up to its full potential.

It's qauint; however, the rooms are small. The balcony is not private. I Visited the Spa here, hence why I decided to splurge and stay here, however next time will stay elsewhere. Not as cozy or quiet as I would have liked for my birthday trip. The best part outside is the sunset and the shower is AMAZING!

I accidentally got a room here for two nights since all hotel rooms in Daytona were rented out for race weekend. It was a nice surprise. Old architecture near the river and a bridge. Quiet rooms with a large comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Sad the wife couldn't make it. Breakfast is covered via the diner next door. Don't worry, they give you plenty. Would like to return to bike the bridge, visit the beach and patronize the restaurant nearby.

Bed too small, rooster too loud. Free breakfast at mermaid cafe was fantastic. Best part about this hotel is the location.

We have loved our stay here and learning about the history of the building. The pool was relaxing. Service at the front was great.

The only 2 good things I can tell about the facility is impeccable customer service and very good free breakfast. The photos they show on Google not even close to reality ‼️ Everything beyond old . Rooms are dowdy, with screeching floors and shacking screeching beds. Bedding dump from moisture and rooms smell musty . A lot of noise from the road ( just under your windows). Not walkability whatsoever- you will have to drive everywhere! And it’s WAY OVERPRICED for what they have to offer. Look elsewhere !

Adorable historic hotel with awesome welcoming staff! We stay here every time we visit New Smyrna. Rooms are so clean, cute and beds are comfortable. Love the Mermaid Cafe next door for breakfast (which is included in room price). Walking distance to several great restaurants. Beautiful location right on the river and a short walk to the beach. Great amenities with complimentary bicycles. There is also a Spa on the property. Highly recommend this hotel.

The location for this hotel and spa is absolutely perfect. It is at the end of Flagler Avenue, just before the bridge. And you can walk to any of the shops or restaurants along that street. The hotel has bikes you can take and bike around the neighborhood there's plenty beyond Flagler avenue to see into and it's so close to the beach. They also have their own pool. You get a complimentary breakfast at the mermaid Cafe next door, which also has amazing food on their menu. You do have to remember the hotel was built in the 1800s so you're not going to have a luxury hotel feel but they do offer a beautiful sitting room a nice little breakfast area You have complimentary coffee teas and you have a beautiful pool area that you can enjoy all day long plus the spa is absolutely wonderful. If you want to book an appointment and enjoy all the spa has to offer You will not be disappointed. This is my go-to when I need to spend a few days and New Smyrna Beach.

Always have a great time here love the reception. The room is successfully clean. I love how it's so close to the mermaid cafe, which is one of our favorite places to eat at when we come from the villages.

My Son bought our whole family massages for Christmas. We came for a family relaxation experience including my Mom and were treated so nice. This is a great place to have a family experience.

Hotel needs a major renovation. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Bathroons are very small, but location is great. Used to sit on balcony with curtains and have breakfast BUT CURTAINS ARE GONE AND BREAKFAST IS NEXG DOOR ONLY. Lost a great romantic touch.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay while exploring New Smyrna Beach. Waterfront restaurant next door, spa on the property, and free breakfast coupons at The Mermaid Cafe, which is nearby as well.

It's not for everyone. Which is why we LOVE IT!!! If you like hustle and bustle and loud, wild attractions; you won't enjoy yourself here. But if you're after romance, historical buildings, quiet seclusion, premiere service and excellent dining: stay at the Riverview Hotel. Both the Spa and Restaurant attached to the hotel are hidden gems. My husband and I return annually to celebrate our anniversary. We find deep rest for our souls and renewed intimacy in our marriage. We adore this little slice of paradise. The hotel is extreemily clean. Staff feels like family. The vibe is warm and relaxing. As for the other comments on the building being stuffy; Yes a little, but its to be expected of a building from the 1800s. They've done as well as possible to restore the place. You have to appreciate it for what it is. Love it here! We will be back again and again.

I really enjoyed the heated pool. Beds are soft and rooms are well equipped.

I strongly suggest the owner spend a night to improve your services and experience what your guests experience, I was expecting much more. It is easier to open a tin can than get inside the sheets also the stationery decorative sheet is shaby; a PHD in engineering is needed to adjust the room temp, fan and shower controls. It would be appreciated the 6 vertical shower knobs be sign posted.

This place is great. My wife and I both had massages there. The staff were very friendly and professional. The massage was very relaxing. They have an outdoor pool and hot tub with waterfalls in it. You can lounge in the chairs or pool after the massage. They have water, coffee, tea and snacks to enjoy with no rush to get you out of there. We really enjoyed it.

The experience we had at Riverview Hotel & Spa was by far one of luxury and comfort! From service to cleanliness to amenities, everything was top-notch and exceeded all of our expectations. All of the spa services we received were so wonderful. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!

The ambiance was really nice. The grounds are well kept and the hotel itself is well maintained and very clean. The property is right on the Intercoastal with some amazing views. This is a well maintained, older building. The room size (105) is adequate, but not spacious, as you would expect from a hotel from this era. We had a sitting area outside our French Doors, right at (almost) pool side. The included breakfast was very nice. Mini pastries (croissants and some bite size muffins were served warm!), fresh fruit cups and hard boiled eggs did very nicely as well as a good cup of coffee. The area is walker friendly with a wide range of shops and restaurants to choose from. Complementary bikes are for your use as well. lol the staff were easy going, professional and very accommodating. We will absolutely stay there again on our next trip to New Smyrna Beach!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay right on the water. Very short distance to the beach. The hotel is beautiful, the beds are super comfortable. We put our breakfast order in the night before and they delivered breakfast to our door the next morning. Although it was a pretty limited menu, we were surprised at how good the food was. Staff was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.
