I stopped in to the shop to ask about lessons and the owner Todd was super personable and informative, so I booked one for the following week. My lesson was one on one and Todd was a great instructor both in the shop and in the waves. Everything was poignant and concise and I never felt overwhelmed, and his feedback/instructions after each wave were both helpful and encouraging. I was amazed how much practice we packed into the hour, and then afterwards he was helpful in charting out a strategy to keep learning on my own before investing in another lesson. I would recommend this laid back, non intimidating, no pressure, fun shop to anyone looking to catch their first wave!

Staff and instructors were GREAT! Very helpful and accommodating. Took the time to answer questions, ensure we knew what to expect, and then help us get surfing!! We visited for 2 lessons (2 days back to back) and recommend that as a minimum. If you're in the area longer, add on a 3rd day to ensure you catch the most waves. Lauren and Grady (our instructors) were very friendly!

School of Surf was great! Lauren was very helpful with our intro and training. Chris did a great job in the water, especially with my son. May have been the best part of our vacation.

Just an awesome surf lesson! The staff and instructors are amazing! Lauren made the fundamentals simple to understand for my 10 year old daughter. Calvin's instruction an attention to safety in the water ...well... "My daughter can now surf after 1 lesson!" They took us to a secluded beach away from the 520 and the Cocoa beach pier, the waves were great. My daughter got to ride over 25 waves during her hour surf lesson. I'm going to let my daughter Christina finish this review...i thought this was a very cool experience the staff was very nice ...instructions were easy. Had a private lesson with Lauren and it was AWESOME! She helped me understand the basics before we ever got in the water so I felt really confident even though it was my 1st time really even trying to surf. I actually stood up on my 1st wave though, it was so I feel really safe saying that shes a professional AND she knows how to teach others in an easy fun way too. I loved it and I can't wait to go back for more lessons!

Had a lesson with my husband and 2 children. We had an amazing instructor that gave us 100% of her attention. With every wave she would give us feedback and encouragement. Fantastic experience and completely worth the cost. Highly recommend! Great to do as a family or small group.

Lauren was amazing for us had us shredding waves within no time. Definitely recommend going to this place if you are in cocoa! Wont regret it

We had a great time with Lauren and Seth! We had a group of six (ages 10+) and they kept us moving the whole hour. Cocoa Beach is a great place to learn the sport and we felt safe and well instructed!

Todd was a really great instructor!! he was super cool and very helpful also and giving me tips for how to surf in the future. I also liked the location of where the surf lessons were. It wasn’t too crowded. The first day my lesson was canceled halfway through because there was lightning and Todd graciously rescheduled it for the next day no problem!

I got to experience two lessons at School of Surf as a complete beginner who’d never set foot on a board. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 💯 The first day, I was with instructor Seth, and the second day I was with Lauren. Both lessons were so fantastic, and the feeling of making progress (after a whole lot of wiping out lol) was crazy thrilling. I felt positively challenged, encouraged, and safe. You guys are seriously the best and I hope to return! Definitely book with SoS; super reasonable pricing and lovely, solid instructors!

Best place to learn to surf. All the instructors are excellent. I get a refresher leaaon for my daughter every year for the last 5 years and my son learned this year.

We came to Cocoa Beach for a few days from Missouri and my 11 year old son wanted to try out surfing. We set him up for an hour session with School Surf and they did an absolutely fantastic job getting him up on his very first day riding some waves. We highly recommend, these guys for your surf lessons. This is a memory we will always cherish.

Lauren & Todd were amazing instructors. Would highly recommend getting a lesson at school of surf. One hour was plenty of time and well worth the price. The instruction was great, good pointers, focusing on the basics, and keeping it fun. I have tried to surf before without getting a lesson and couldn’t get up. After the lesson with Lauren & Todd, I got up on my 3rd try!

The best surf school in Cocoa Beach - called during the busy holiday season and Calvin got us in an hour after our call for a two hour lesson with two girls ( 17 & 20 ). He was very patient and had them up catching waves within minutes all while laughing, smiling and enjoying the surf as much as the girls were! Highly recommend a lesson with this company - shop is one block from an amazingly quiet spot on the beach that wasn’t over crowded like other areas on Cocoa Beach. Thanks again! My friend and I did the group lesson with Lauren. It started with the basic safety info in the shop and then we moved to the water. We had at least an hour in the water. By the end both of us were catching waves (mostly on our own) and riding them in successfully. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have some fun! Even if you don't think you can surf, Lauren made it easy. Don't forget some cash to tip your instructors!

Wow! Best Mother's Day ever. Took the Mother's Day Clinic, including breakfast, lesson, yoga, surfing and lunch. What an awesome experience. My kids were there cheering me on and the staff was so welcoming and encouraging. They are EXPERTS at working with beginners. They got me up in the first fifteen minutes. I loved every minute of it, and I know it was 100% due to the amazing instructors. I can't wait to get back out there. I'm hooked. The experience was everything they said it would be and much more.
