📍 Quinta da Ribafria Of the imposing construction, the highlight is a 17th century tower that, according to legend, served “so that the owner of Ribafria could see Penha Verde, which belonged to him, as a descendant of the founder D. João de Castro” from there . At the west angle is the Ribafria shield carved in stone and in the gardens a large tank, in whose waters it is possible to see the facade of the building and a magnificent cistern, with a vast room with its ashlar vault supported by arches and columns of eternal solidity. It is an outdoor park, art museum of sorts, outdoor venue, which does not charge to enter. It is used for music events, srt shows, camping, school functions... It was pleasant to walk through and just take in the splendor of nature, the art exhibit, see kids enjoy a mini concert.....simply enjoy the outdoors

We went there with a 1 year old and he was happy running and playing around. It was a parking area so it is easy to go.

Around 1600, it was built by one of King's staff now curated by Sintra municipality. It was a nice place to spend the weekend

Beautiful place for a walk. It has very old trees in the gardens like huge sequoias , one of them does a tent like effect.

Some of the Google photos are quite old. The palace is fully reconstructed and even despite the fact that it is a private property, you can enter there for free. There is a playground for children and a large park. I recommend to visit it.

At the moment there are lots of building works so I wasn't able to see it in all its splendor. Beautiful gardens but only one part of the building was accessible. No cafe or amenities available either. The best part is that it's linked to the green highway walk that links it to the town.

Great garden van with a restaured Palace, open daily... in general unknown to tourists. Keep up with little events being held there.

Some pretty statues, a big nice area for a walk, but largely unmaintained, making it very hard to go around or appreciate the site seeing spot.

Amazing place. magical Sequoia tree. Felt like i was a princess roaming the castle. If you go in late May you will have oranges from the trees.
