We visited the Opel Zoo on Easter weekend. When we arrived at 0900 we found ample parking, but later in the day, it looked like people were having a harder time finding a parking spot. We did see an Audi station wagon hit the median driving to the parking that was near the front of the park, so be careful when pulling in. The zoo had large exhibits for all of the animals and our toddler was able to see most animals without having to be picked up which was very nice. We were able to go most places in the zoo with our stroller, but there were a few paths that are only possible if you are on foot. Overall we had a great time and will go back again!

It is the best zoo I’ve ever been! First of all, it’s huge 😍😍😍 You will need at least half a day to discover the whole area. Secondly, you can buy carrots (2,50€ a pack) at the entrance and feed animals on your own. My kids and myself had a blast being on the other side of the cage and interacting with them. The park is always clean and the animals look happy. Their enclosures are clean and they have plenty of space to roam around. Highly recommend.

The zoo and it's animals were very good. However, the little wood fork thingy that came with my fries was great!! Why don't we have these in the States??

Nice zoo with a lovely Setup and a wide range of interesting animals. I recommend the parking at the forest, to get full enjoyment of the dromedars as well. 🙂 For sure worth a visit.

I went with the family and had a good time. I normally don't go to zoos but this zoo was very well kept and the animals had very good enclosures,alot a room. They didn't look like they were treated wrong and that's what I liked about it.

Lovely zoo! People can buy carrots or grasses to feed animals and touch them! Very nice experience and would recommend to all people. The restaurants in the zoo also ok, fair price and taste ok.

I gave three stars because half the animals were inside and couldn’t be seen there was only one kiosk open for takeout and many animals where removed because of winter but the price was the normal price which you would pay in summer when all the animals are out and all the Kiosks are open. It would be fair to have a winter price and a summer price.

Nice and clean.. the aminals seemed well cared for. My dog found a twin double there😊

Beautiful zoo with a wide variety of animals. We enjoyed a nice lunch overlooking the elephant enclosure. My children were pleased to be able to get such a good, up-close look at so many creatures. I do think that the bathroom facilities could have been much cleaner, but it was hot and the zoo was quite busy. We will return.

Great place to spend time with family. Kids can feed animals. A lot of animals , playground for kids. The best go on morning hours because there is a lot to see.

I highly recommend the Opel Zoo to anyone visiting the area. It's a great place to spend a day with the family, and a chance to learn more about the amazing animals.

I wasn't sure what to expect but it blew me away. Everything was clean. The animals looked well cared for.

I have come here a couple times. It is soo fun I love petting the goats and sheep. This is a really good zoo to go with kids. They have a lot of hands on things.

Der Preis hämmert natürlich ziemlich rein, aber der Zoo ist auch wahrlich einer der schönsten Zoos Deutschlands. Die Gehege sind absolut schön angelegt, es gibt verschiedene ausgewiesene Rundwege und der ganze Zoo ist super strukturiert aufgebaut. Sehr interessante Tierarten gibt es hier zu sehen, welche nicht einmal der Zoo Frankfurt beherbergt. (z.B. rote Pandas) Ein Haus voller Reptilien und Aquariums ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Anfahrt kann per Fahrrad, Bus oder Auto erfolgen, wobei der Parkplatz ziemlich voll und klein erschien.

Zauberhafter Zoo mit vielen Tierarten. Für Rollstuhlfahrer bedingt geeignet, es gibt zwar bei den Treppen Rampen, allerdings sind manche Berge recht steil. Es gibt viele Imbissbuden mit reichhaltiger Auswahl. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Hunde sind herzlich willkommen:)

Sehr schöner weitläufiger Zoo, es geht ganz schön Berg und Tal. Eintrittspreis vollkommen in Ordnung. Parkplätze gibt es viele jedoch sind sie schnell belegt und etwas nervig. Toiletten super schmutzig und das schon um 11 Uhr morgens , deswegen ein Stern Abzug.. ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert

Really great variety of animals with easily viewable enclosures. Additionally, the signage is plentiful and has names and descriptions of the animals in both English and German. The animals are well-cared for and the zoo is very clean and tidy. It is VERY hilly, so be ready for a good calf workout if you're pushing a wheelchair or stroller. I would absolutely visit this zoo again.

Ich bin nicht oft in Zoos, deswegen habe ich nicht so viele Vergleiche, aber vom OpelZoo war ich absolut begeistert. Die Tiere haben große Gehege und wirken auch recht zufrieden. Man kann ewig weit laufen und das Gelände ist sehr abwechslungsreich.

Zum größten Teil schöne, weitläufige Gehege. Bis auf die Unterbringung der Affen und Katzen hat uns alles sehr gut gefallen. Die Gehege sind fußläufig gut erreichbar. Für Kinder gibt es einen wunderschönen Abenteuerspielplatz. Kostenloser, großer Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Auch für Essen und Trinken ist ausreichend gesorgt. Wer selbst Essen und Trinken dabei hat, für den stehen ausreichend Rastplätze zur Verfügung. Selbst für das Wohl unserer vierbeinigen Freunde ist gesorgt. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Zoo mit nur sehr kleinen Abzügen. Wir verbrachten hier einen wunderschönen Urlaubstag.

Sehr schöner Zoo mit naturnahen Gehegen und großer Vielfalt an Tieren. Restaurant am Elefantenhaus lecker zu annehmbaren Preisen. Schöner Spielplatz mit schattigen Plätzen zum ausruhen und natürlich die Möglichkeit Eis zu kaufen. Wir kommen wieder!

Sehr schöner Zoo alles sehr sauber und gepflegt für Kinder das wahre Paradies waren mit den Enkeln dort 4 und 7 Jahre und waren beide sehr begeistert. Ich selbst habe einen Schwerbehindertenausweis 70 G und habe alles bewältigt obwohl es manchmal sehr steil hoch und runter geht. Selbst für Grillfreunde sind Grillplätze eingerichtet. Waren Samstag gegen 11:00 Uhr dort!

Durch die TV Sendungen waren wir auf den Besuch im Opel Zoo gespannt, da wir vor dem Umbau des Elefantengeheges das letzte Mal dort waren. Und der Umbau hat sich mehr als gelohnt!!! Auch die unterschiedlichen Spielplätzen für die Kids sind super. Wer möchte kann sogar an der Grill Hütte sich selbst versorgen. Noch ein Plus sind die kostenlosen Parkplätze vorm Zoo!

Ist auf jeden Fall ein Ausflug wert. Gerade weil man auch seinen Hund mitnehmen kann, sehr zu empfehlen. Anlage, bis auf eine Toilette, sehr gepflegt und es gibt viele Tiere zu entdecken. Am besten unter der Woche gleich morgens hinfahren, da ist es nicht so überfüllt

They really take care of the animals. Giraffes and elephants in warmed pens. You can feed elephants carrots and apples. Most of the animals will eat the carrots, which is sold at the ticket counter. Restaurant are modern, clean, and have decent food and coffee. Nothing to really complain or protest against, a well ran establishment with plans to expand in the very near future.
