The access to the top of the fort climbing dozens of stairs is quite tiring. But when you get to the top, the view is very beautiful. It's worth your effort to climb to the top. There are forts and cannons used by the Japanese in the past. You can also see the sea and waves from up here. This place is not too crowded with people so you can enjoy the surroundings without being disturbed.

One of my favourite spot in Sabang. In this place you will not only see the Japan Fort but also you could stroll the area, sit in the grass (area front of the fort) and just watch the waves and blue ocean. It's just peaceful and relaxing. I could spend my time here just to relax by watching the blue ocean.

A fortress from World War II built by the Japanese. It's not very large, but it's a pleasant place to stroll. Additionally, the views are spectacular!

I am not sure of any but what I saw here was just a bit of Dutch, and a bit of Japanese. I really cannot find a lot of left-over from their colonization, and also during their occupation. Yes, maybe you could say it's because they have different policy of occupation and they didn't build many things or developed. However, I could only see from spot from spot. Spot means really the spot. But anything else. This is said to be a Japanese military fortress. And it is, just like that.

Stayed longer than I thought I would, but most probably it’s because of the view from up here, not because of the fort or the history itself. The fort is pretty spooky in my opinion. Because it’s dark, a bit smelly and some rubbish on the corner. The view is pretty, you can take pictures and videos with beautiful background. However, this needs to be managed because rubbish is everywhere. Too bad a beautiful place like this got littered 😩

The remnants of former Japanese soldiers who stared at the Straits of Malacca are easily found on the island of Weh. There were many bunkers built by Japan's imperial army during World War II, can be found along the coastline of the Weh Island.

It's beautiful place!!!! Oh God, that was amazing! I just like see the freedom in here. Beautiful sea and cliff! When I came here it was very quiet, not even another visitor. Here you can get peace. If to Sabang, you should rent a private vehicle. Motorbike or car. Because, here there are no public transportation.

World war 2 remains in Sabang island. This bunker was build by Japanese to defend the island from Allied forces. Now it became tourist attraction in. The view from the bunker is awesome. You can see the ocean directly from the bunker

Nothing castle about this place, despite the sign saying so. Very nice place to nap, sit and relax. 1 more star would be given if someone properly manage the disposal of rubbish. Of course rubbish everywhere.

The view from top of the hills is gorgeous outlooking the blue sea, but too bad locals seems to be careless about cleanliness of this place. Can improve more with the maintenance of the place

The Japanese soldiers posted here would never have imagined it would one day become a sleepy, relaxing tourist attraction

The remaining of fortress built by Japan located on Anoi Itam, Weh Island. Look beyond the bunker that designed to be hidden, you'll find another beauty from the Indian Ocean from the hill. Be careful to step, because you'll be seriously fall into the deep ocean if you slipped out and rolled down from the hill.
