I recently went in and the manager yelled at a group of us for sitting down at a table after the hostess told us we could sit there. The manager clearly did not communicate with the hostess and proceeded to act rude towards her customers, which made me not want to eat there. The manager told us we needed to get on the waitlist after she clearly saw us waiting at the door when we came in. I also had the wait list buzzer in my hand. The experience I had with the manager was unacceptable and I will not go to this restaurant again because of it. The food at this place was good though.

This restaurant used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Wilmington. After the previous owner passed, it went downhill and then sold. I stopped coming here before it was sold because we were literally getting cold steak and chicken on our tacos. It's been a long time, and knowing that there was new ownership, we decided to give them a try. The inside and out look precisely the same. I think it is time to remodel. Some of the floorboards where we sat were coming up. The service was not bad but not good either. We had to wait a while to get the attention of our waitress to ask for some Picante sauce and refills for our drinks. She also asked us if we wanted refills when we both needed refills, which was strange because we had just received our food. The chips and salsa are still good, but in the basket of chips they gave us, most of the chips were broken into small pieces. The queso is still good, but it was barely warm. We both ordered Fajitas for our entrees. Our waitress asked us if we wanted a half or entire order. That was new. We both got half, which was half-price—$ 10 each for chicken fajitas and one side. Excellent bargain. The chicken in both dishes was very dry, and the onions and peppers were saturated in the sauce they used. I got rice as my side dish. It is one of the worst things I have ever tasted. No clue why they sell that. It is so bad. Our other side was refried beans. It was okay. Nothing about the food or experience was worth going back.

This is my favorite place to eat lunch, I go at least once a week. The wait staff are wonderful, they are always so friendly! The food is amazing. There has been a few times when I've been there the manager (I think she is the DM) has been rude and disrespectful to the staff. I can tell they are embarrassed. I'm not okay with that, I've worked in customer service for 26 plus years. She is definitely not a people person. I have met most of the managers and they are all friendly and work so well with the staff.

Love the atmosphere here! Service was prompt, courteous and friendly-thanks Madeline! Chips & salsa hit the spot while waiting on our meal. The most soft, fresh and savory Dos Equis beer battered Mahi wrap I’ve ever experienced 🤤 And hubby couldn’t even finish his amazing Chimichanga! Very affordable and we highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻

Had multiple tables open and gave us a 30 minute wait just because they wanted to “pause for a bit.” So I took my wife and four daughters to PTs instead. Update: If you were "committed to providing a great experience" you would not have asked my family (who was trying to celebrate my wife's birthday) to wait 30 minutes when tables were open. We even offered, kindly, to sit and eat chips and salsa while the service staff "caught up." But that suggestion was met with a rude response from who I assume was the manager on duty. If you were "committed to providing a great experience" you would offer something more than a "hope you try us again."

My boyfriend and I had a very disappointing experience this week. First of all, when we walked in there was a chalkboard that read “daily specials” with $4 mahi fish tacos on there, and since it was daily we just assumed the special lasted all day. My boyfriend chose to offer the mahi tacos but when we received the bill, we noticed it was over $25 so we brought it to the attention of our server and she said the specials don’t begin until 5 pm. She was not very nice or accommodating. If it’s a daily special, then it should last all day, and if not, at least write down the time the specials begin. It’s a bummer, because I used to really enjoy this place for the yummy food and friendly service.

The atmosphere is kinda pretentious. The place is loud and cramped inside and out. The amount of food you get for the prices is disproportionate. The service was good except they didn't tell me that the Dr. Pepper is not carbonated (and for $3 a soda, it should be).

All 6 of our cups were full of black dots inside and outside that smeared off with my finger. Server was already aware and said that it’s from the liner of the dishwasher. She said it wasn’t an issue until they got new cups that were clear. Our replacement cups still had them so she gave us empty to-go cups to pour our drinks into.

Sat our party of 4 right down at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Server immediately helped us with drinks and questions about dishes. Food came out promptly and tasted delicious. We stayed and chatted for a while, nearing closing time, and the staff was fine with it without pushing us to leave. All in all a wonderful place to eat!!

Samantha was our server and it started fine until she brought out our second round of drinks and spilled coke ALL OVER ME. She apologized and brought out like 1 paper towel to dry myself, the table, and the chair. We then put everything on our plates to make it easier for her to clean up but she tilted the plate and spilled barbecue sauce all over my boyfriends legs and BRAND NEW shoes, all she said was ‘oops, i guess i’m spilling everything today’. She did not apologize to him once or bring him out any paper towels to clean himself or his new shoes that she ruined. When we went to pay we talked about how unsatisfied we were with our service and she ARGUED with us. She was EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is nothing like it used to be now under new owners. The rice was also very hard, dry, and tasted like plastic. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Our waitress was top notch, very nice for families or a date. The Margarita was average, but the food was top tier!!! My Love had the Bowl and it looked sooo good. He said it was the best he had. I had the Island Shrimp Wrap and it was absolutely delicious. The shrimp were tender and juicy and the sauce served along side of it took it up a notch. Would definitely go again

Too much change. Items I've loved for years are now gone. Ribs, BBQ, grater tots, why? It made the place unique, now it's just like any other Mexican place.

Not cheap, but high quality dishes and generous sized drinks. Everything tasted great! We return next time we are in Wilmington.

When we arrived around 6pm there was about a twenty minute wait, which was fine for us, the place was packed per usual. The hostess was nice and very attentive, she worked hard to get everyone seated as quickly as possible. We waited for a spot to open at up at the bar and once seated it was a short wait to get service. The bar tender was slammed, but got us drinks and menus as quickly as she could. They had a margarita special which was delicious. We ordered a shrimp quesadilla, french fries, a cane asada taco, and Street corn. The food came out fairly quickly and was tasty; not the best we've had there, but not bad. It was a very long wait until the bar tender checked up on us and finally got us another round of drinks, but again she was busy. She was apologetic for the wait.

Nice looking place, friendly staff, but I had two of their street tacos and they were pretty unremarkable. Bland meat, no flavor at all and the tortillas were a bit soggy. Place has high potential but overall it just wasn’t good.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. It was not crowded and the people there seemed to be enjoying their leisurely lunch. The staff was friendly, courteous, and attentive. My wife and I ordered different salads and we were not disappointed. The food was really good and the prices reasonable. We shall return.

Went here for lunch and had no complaints. The food was decent and at a reasonable price, there was plenty of seating, and the staff was friendly. The outdoor seating option is actually nice when compared to some other locations as it offers enough shade and isn't pushed up against a sidewalk or parking lot. For a Mexican style restaurant its about what you would expect and while I enjoyed my lunch I don't think anything here stood out to me enough to return.

I would give the place higher rating the food is tasty but the prices aren't commensurate with what's given. Nice. Clean. Tasty food. Not the best value.

Great drinks, unfortunately not enough table staff(3) to cope. So long wait times and when our food finally arrived it was cold. OK it still tasted great even cold so a 3 star today and hopefully 5 the next visit.

Waitress was sweet and cheerful. Nice inside decor and vibe. Food was average. Chips that came out for appitizer were stale, not fresh. Taco salad was ok. Some steak peices were soft to chew and some steak peices were over well done and couldn't chew.

Went there for lunch. Tried their specialities of the San Felipe corn tacos and the Mexican street corn. The San Felipe tacos were battered cod fish tacos with an avocado slice; delicious. The corn was a bit small and not as temperature hot as expected, but the spices and flavors were outstanding. The service was excellent.

I have dined twice in the past week. And have been very satisfied. A very active bar is fun place to enjoy dinner. Excellent margaritas and a great selection of Mexican dinners. Watch for nightly specials which are a super bargain. Fun, lively atmosphere

We had the Taco Salad & chicken quesadilla. Both very bland, no taste. Quesadilla was very thin, not much to it at all. Should have sent it back. Wish I had taken a picture. And the gal acting as hostess, possibly manager, told the staff that there was no dish washer last night, that they would all be doing the dishes. Well, she was so loud in telling the staff that every customer was aware of the situation.

I used to Love the Sante fe Shrimp Last 2x in 3 mos Horrible undercooked.. Additionally, not always hot food Went with a vegetarian her Salad was All White End pieces , ugh The home made concoction that was offered for salad dressing terrible. Hoping by letting you know something will be done. I'm Not big on bad reviews But... sad Stick to Salsa and chips
